So I just finished reading TAS today, and have to say that a lot has happened in this book. So I guess I'll start from the beginning.
-The rouges fighting WindClan, and in the end having Firzepelt die and Onestar lose a life wasn't too surprising. I kind of expected that much.
-The whole situation with Littlecloud bothered me, due to the fact that the ShadowClan apprentices are horrible. And Rowanstar's choice to have Puddlekit become a medicine cat apprentice was a bit...sad. The poor little guy didn't even want all that responsibility thrown on his shoulders.
-Just the entire situation of ShadowClan and their band of ungrateful leeches they call apprentices made so irritated. How did these cats get to become so downright horrible??? I would heavily fault Rowanstar's leadership, but I think the lack of firmness with the mentors played a huge role as well.
-Violetpaw. She is an interesting character. I feel bad for her, since her life has been so difficult and isolated so far. I can't fault her for being so loyal to Needletail, because she was the only one who showed concern for the apprentice. I do hope she realizes her mistake in staying with ShadowClan in the end however.
-Twigpaw. Another interesting character. I wouldn't say she's an interesting as her sister, but she has some different qualities about her as well. Unlike her sister, she grew up wanted and had more than just one cat to bond with. I personally love her and Alderheart's bond, and think it's sweet. I feel bad for her, since she is missing/worrying about her sister so much.
-Needletail. As interesting and complicated as she is, I don't particularly like her. I thought she was okay in TAQ, but that all went right down to hate in this book. I don't feel like she has any reason to hate her Clan so much. Yes, I read the short story with her and the owl--but that is justifying her hatred. And I'm starting to feel like she no longer has a mind of her own, and just blindly following after Rain now. Her attacking Twigpaw was completely uncalled for, and I was hoping Ivypool ripped her a new one.
-Alderheart. Still love this guy. He reminds me a lot of Firestar in his younger days--kind, naive, sweet, etc. His bond with Twigpaw is precious, and I was happy to see that his bond with Jayfeather had gotten better near the end of the book.
-Now all I can say is, what will happen next? I'm assuming SkyClan will finally make an appearance in SS--as it was heavily implied. I don't like SkyClan at all, but I am curious as to what happened to them--and what their connection with Twigpaw and Violetpaw may be.
