Ploverpelt
Ploverpelt nodded his head at Specklepaw, who arrived shortly after he did. He didn't know if he would have snapped at Bristlemoss like Aphidshell had, but that was just what Aphidshell did. You didn't want to catch her in a bad mood.
"That sounds fine" He said. As far as he knew, the area hadn't been touched in a bit, so the prey should be plentiful. It wasn't his favorite spot, as he preferred to catch bigger prey, but small prey wasn't that bad. They needed to make sure the pond didn't get overpopulated anyways.
Aphidshell lead the way out of camp, Specklepaw trailing after her, and Ploverpelt followed behind. The everglades were so nice this time of day, the early morning sunlight filtering down from beyond the canopy. It was usually humid here, but the clan had adapted and it didn't really bother them.
After a few minutes of trekking through the undergrowth, they finally arrived at the pond. "So, are we going to hunt fish or frogs first?" |

She hopped up onto a fallen log, staring at the pond for a minute before speaking. "There are a lot of small fish in there. What we should probably do is crowd them into one section of the pond, then have some of us scoop them out." She turns to Specklepaw and Ploverpelt. "We'll take turns with each role, so I can show you two how to do it effectively." Rosewing
warrior - he/they - 36 moons - on border patrol (busybee aquatail Lea)He followed the others as they head to the territory,s Eastern border, paying careful attention to his surroundings. "Hm. Pretty warm today, but not too bad." He smiled to himself. Hopefully, the heat will mean that the rocks scattered around the territory will still be nice and warm later. Hopefully that will help him fall asleep.
note: is there anything specific you guys want to happen during the patrol? should they meet someone new? or encounter some kind of animal?

Ploverpelt slightly snorted. He knew how to hunt here. But Aphidshell was just like that wasn't she? Sure, she was older, but that didn't mean she was more experienced. Just because her apprentice was on this patrol didn't mean Aphidshell had to treat him like one!
Maybe she's talking to Specklepaw. He snorted again. Of course! He was standing next to the apprentice after all.
"Got it. I can scoop the fish out, along with you, Aphidshell. Specklepaw can scare the fish towards us. We do have the biggest paws, after all," Ploverpelt offered, flicking his tail toward the shallow pond.

Sorry for the absence, hope everyone's doing well lately Specklepaw could finally join the patrol right now Specklepaw | on a hunting patrol | with Aphidshell (hibiscuspuddle ) and Ploverpelt (Dew )Specklepaw pricked her ears, enthusiastic to have a task she believe she could handle well. She nodded hurriedly after hearing Ploverpelt's words. "I can definitely do that," she promised, her tail swishing in excitement. "I bet I can drive all the fishes in the pond into your paws!" The little tortoiseshell's spirit was all up, although she had no idea exactly how she's going to do what she said.(I now have Emberheart open, anyone with cats free for roleplay?) |

Algaespeckle
Algaespeckle should have offered to go on a patrol, but she just didn't feel like it this morning. Maybe she would go on an afternoon patrol, or go swimming with a clanmate! Yes, that seemed like lots of fun. Algaespeckle watched as Ploverpelt, Specklepaw, and Aphidshell left camp, followed by the border patrol made up of Wisproar, Ibiscry, and Rosewing.
Quite a few cats were still left in camp, Lichenheart, Panthergrowl and Emberheart were a few. But who did she want to talk to? Who would want to talk to her was the real question. Some cats thought that she was too nosy to be around.
Algaespleckle padded over to Emberheart, the black tom. She didn't know him that well, and he seemed like a good cat to hang out with. Also, they were around the same age. He had been an apprentice when she had been born anyways.
"Hey Emberheart, how are you doing today?" She asked, sitting down next to him. |

Emberheart knew he overslept this morning as he rose up from his den. Half of the nests in the warrior's den were empty when he finally sat up; he gave himself a quick groom of his fur and headed out of the den swiftly.
The patrols were leaving as he emerged into the camp. There, he found the few remaining warriors. He was about to ask Coaststar whether they should go on a patrol when Algaespeckle sat down next to him. He never really knew the younger warrior very well, but he found her as one of the friendlier Clanmates, despite sometimes being slightly too talkative for him.
"I'm fine, though I'd be better if I hadn't overslept," he mewed. "Seems like most of the patrols were off already, and we're one of the few that got the morning free. What do you plan to do before sunhigh?"

She hadn't really planned on doing anything, to be honest. In her mind she was thinking that she was going to go on a patrol, but that out out of the question. The patrols had already left, and she had been too late to volunteer for one of them.
"I'm not sure, maybe go for a swim? Or..." Algaespeckle trailed off, glancing around the camp again. Maybe they could get a group of cats together and do something? Tell stories? It was a nice day out, well, at least it wasn't raining. When it rained here, it rained really hard, and it was hard to get anything done! Most of the prey goes in hiding, and hunting patrols are lucky to find small fish.
"I'm not really sure actually. What about you?" Algaespeckle asked. |

Emberheart shifted his paws unconsciously when he heard the question returned to him. He wasn't sure what to do in the morning, so that was why he asked the question in the first place. However, he did have some suggestions in his mind, though he wasn't certain if Algaespeckle might like any of them.
"I was also thinking about going for a swim, or fishing," he mewed at last. "I did briefly considered helping gathering the herbs for Orchid and Gustpaw, but Orchid might have been tired from the leader's ceremony last night. So I guess we could just enjoy our free time, for now." He tilted his head. "Maybe we could invite some warriors to create a party for swimming. That would be fun," he mewed as he scanned across the camp.

Algeaspeckle nodded at Emberheart, that was what she had been thinking after all. The best time to swim was about sunhigh, when it was the hottest, but if you went swimming before then that was fine as well. Then your pelt would dry faster at least. Actually, that would be quite nice.
"That sounds like a good plan, who would you want to bring?" Algaespeckle asked, scanning the cats in camp. There was both of the medicine cats, but they probably have some medicine-cat stuff to do. There was Coaststar, but she looked like she could have a nice long nap before doing anything. Panthergrowl, Aldertouch, and Egretpaw were still in camp, but she wasn't sure about bringing an apprentice. |

It looks like most of the cats were, well, either resting, or seemed unavailable at the moment. Emberheart turned his head back to Algaespeckle. "Seems like most of the cats are busy, maybe we could just go by ourselves?" he suggested, not wanting to waste the perfect daylight.(Sorry for the late and kinda short response)

Algaespeckle glanced around camp, only to see that Emberheart was right. "Oh wow, I guess you're right! Well, do you want to go now?" She asked, getting to her paws. Algaespeckle hoped he said yes, otherwise it would be awkward that she was just standing on her paws. She flicked her tail slightly, but it was only to flick away the occasional flies. "A swim would be very nice, actually" She loved her fur, but sometimes it was just too hot for her! Her thick pelt didn't help, but hopefully she would shed away her extra fur over the next few days. |

As they padded around the border she saw a rustle in a nearby bush she sniffed but what ever it was had it's scent disguised. Probably due to the giant clump of catmint. She signalled to the patrol to be silent. "Look over there" she whispered.
I wanted to ask a communal decision- what should it be? Cat? prey? animal? Or any other suggestions

Emberheart purred slightly when he saw Algaespeckle's enthusiastic response. "Let's go now, then," he mewed, as he started to lead the way out of the camp. Thanks to SawgrassClan's territory, there were many ponds or river cats may wash themselves in. However, he wondered if Algaespeckle have preference towards any of the pools or small streams. He turned his head and raised the question. "I haven't gone swimming lately," he mewed, "Is there any ponds you would prefer to swim in?"

Specklepaw watched with widened eyes as her mentor leapt right into the water. The sight seemed a bit ridiculous at first, but soon she found that the fish were swimming away from her mentor, gathering to the other corner of the pond. "That seemed easy enough," she mewed confidently. "I think I can do that." With that said, she threw herself right into the water beside Aphidshell, mimicking the older warrior's moves.

I was thinking of having him suggest they go look for their scared place since their new leader seems upset about something. Because the kits think they could help. Geckokitin camp | playing with Snakekit and Crocodilekit… and snooping (hibiscuspuddle and busybee )
kit ~ he/him ~ 5 moons Geckokit batted the mossball closer to the few remaining older cats. So far his brother hadn’t noticed what he was up to, and the three of them had been playing for a while now. It had been fun slowly outsmarting him.
He ran quickly to where the mossball landed to keep it there. Near Coaststar and the other cats. Perfect! Mossball may have gotten boring but using it to keep close to the older cats worked like a charm.
Watching the new leader from his position, Geckokit noticed that she seemed upset about something. He flicked his ears towards her but couldn’t really hear anything. Did something happen? Geckokit fidgeted in his hiding spot. While he hated sitting still and being patient, he made a rare exception for spying. Snakekit taught him that it paid off in the long run.
Just waiting for the other kits to join him now!  He’s up to something.
I know no one replied to my last post, but I’m at a dealership while my car is worked on. Kinda bored right now. |

Nice to see you again! Car was done shortly after you posted and I had chores at home to catch up on after that.
Poor Snakekit. Her brother is trouble. We can’t really say anything more about what they’ve eavesdropped on without the other cats’ owners. So Geckokit will be jumping to conclusions shortly. Probably should wait for Croc boy first since he’s the voice of reason with these three. |

kit ~ he/him ~ 5 moons Geckokit rolled his eyes at his brother. Typical, boring Crocodilekit. But he let his littermate lead him away anyways. Not because he agreed but because he knew the older cats would notice them with the racket Crocodilekit made.
When they were far enough away, Geckokit sat down and gave his ears a few flicks with his paw before responding to his dumb brother’s points.
“Didn’t you notice how upset Coaststar was? I think something happened, and she’s not letting the other cats know. Betcha something happened during her leadership ceremony.”
He paused momentarily before continuing. ”I know! We could help! Let’s go to the Sacred Place. Make sure everything is okay.”
Of course he’s the one to come up with this harebrained scheme. XD
