A cool looking grasshopper: The small rose bush is beginning to bud: The rest are just of the sky, I have many sky pictures, it's interesting how much it can change throughout the day:

I love that sunset! Sunsets when the sky is all mottled with colors are the coolest imo. I have pictures of one that's all pink from about two years ago and it's one of the coolest things I've seen.

Ṣanɗypaw™Same! I have a couple that look like the clouds are pink/orange cotton candy that I might upload later. Have you uploaded your sunset pics anywhere?

You should see if there are any pink grasshoppers even documented in your area, you might have found a first. How long ago was this? Is it still around? Can you capture it and take it to someone who knows entomology?

I love you but they aren't a rare morph ^^ Probably Chortophaga viridifasciata (or a similar bandwing)[apparently the genus has a lot of species that have pink]. They have a lot of variation tho, esp males, and can be anywhere from pinks to purples and even blues as well as a full array of greens and browns. Also very common in most of north america I will say I've never tried to take any califera to species tho. some crickets but grasshoppers tend to have a lot of variation within the species (and a lot of species are really, really close and sometimes even interbreed soooo) (if you have any ants or flies that need identifying tho..... o.o)

Just because lots of grasshoppers (and katydids!) can be pink doesn't make it not rare.
In general pink grasshoppers are about a 1% chance of happening due to what they eat. They are far from common.

LeapkitI put it through a bug identifier and it said it was a green banded grasshopper or whatever, so I think this is just one of its growth stages, so it seems like Brownie was correct, it still looked super cool though lazzylake Ṣanɗypaw™These are really incredible pictures
