Only 2 months after ASC #6? Is that normal? I know it was written already but I would’ve thought there would’ve been more time between series.

I was actually wondering if maybe there was going to be a contradictory issue. Either way, interesting that (at least so far) it's not a Spring release.

It's an Australian page and I think they use DD/MM/YY format in Australia, so that'd still be January 7th. Seems like it's come pretty early, but it's maybe just a preliminary date and subject to change. Or maybe they're changing their release schedule. We'll see.

Oh wow, that's an early release if that information is actually true. I wonder if they will be releasing the arc 9 books in winter and summer instead of spring and fall.

I don't know how I didn't notice the AU on the link, but yeah, you're right about the dating format. Assuming it doesn't change, that makes this the first January book release since Rising Storm in 2004.

I'm almost certain January is a placeholder date. I wonder if we'll get an announcement soon, then

www.barnesandnoble.com/w/warriors-9th-arc-1-erin-hunter/1145383261?ean=9780063357082 B&N also has a Jan 7 date I'm hoping it IS a placeholder date, but honestly here's something I've been fearing - since it's only 2 months after Star's release, I'm a bit worried they're going to resort to using AI to get books out faster, honestly. This might just be an unfounded fear of mine, but seeing how AI technology has been taking place... I really do hope they don't stoop to that.

I won't lie the thought that they might use it to make the books has crossed my mind before. I do think Cherith has said that she'll be writing the book though. Maybe they're just deciding to change the dates they'll be releasing the main series books from fall and spring to summer and winter.

The books are finished way before their publication (e.g. Star has already been written) so pushing a book a few months earlier could be done without affecting the writing schedule much.

Back in the day there would be three main series books per year. January/December were common slots. With novellas and original graphic novels done for now, it makes sense to spread out some of the releases so no book overshadows another. Here's what I'm thinking they're trying:
January- New main series book March- original graphic novel/novella? April- New main series book June/July- adaptation graphic novel August/September- SE November- New main series book
