Probably the only justified assassination in the entire series. Brokenstar had caused immense amount of damage to the very nature of the four clans and he proved this his disability didnt hamper him from being a monster and a backstabber. yellowfang could have easily leaned on her emotional weakness due to being his mother like she had done before in order to spare his life. But yellowfang, unlike her son, knew the true meaning of loyalty and that sometimes, in order to serve and protect your clan, even the warrior code needs to be looked past. I cant imagine, even as justified as her anger and actions were, that killing your own son, was easy for her. She was already a cat with a strong mind, but this is Crookedstar level of tragedy, with a twist.

man idc if she broke the code. the code is supposed to dictate what's right and what's wrong but in situations like these you have to ignore it. a simple "that's illegal though!" isn't enough to make her unjustified here. brokentail was causing trouble and killing cats literally everywhere he went. when he got kicked out the clans he took his group with him too. if he actually chose to leave the clans alone he'd just wreak havoc on other outside cat groups

Justified. He had proven that he couldn’t be safely kept as a prisoner.
