S H I N E C L A N ★ Welcome to ShineClan, a Clan of cats that isn't a Clan at all. Or cats, really.
ShineClan is, instead, a Guild, where any cat that follows their Code of Honor and pays dues to the Leader may claim a place in their ranks. Their membership is comprised of mostly cats--or feline-adjacent species, as it is--but any creature that speaks felid and follows their Code may apply for a position in ShineClan.
Because of this, ShineClan is incredibly diverse. They are best known for their sparklecats, a word that describes all modified felines, known for their impressive range of pelt pattern and diverse mutations, including wings, horns, or scales.
ShineClan members pride themselves on their sense of honor and duty. They tend to have lofty goals and rarely stop short of saving the world. While often selfless and motivated by good intentions, ShineClan cats can tend towards hero complexes and their Guild members are notorious for finding themselves in the middle of conflicts and sticking their noses into everyone else's business.
The organization as a whole seeks to use its members' skills and the tithes they pay to put towards bettering society. Their first rule in their Code is to always help those in need, and ShineClan's leadership sticks to that principle, sending its cats on missions to help where they are needed most. All members are required to partake in these missions as part of their membership in ShineClan.
ShineClan does not require it's members to take warrior names, though many do as ShineClan recruits from numerous Clans in the area. A B O U T ★ ShineClan is an open-world sandbox rp where both realistic and non-realistic cats can mix. There will be a few "mainline" plots to follow as well as "missions" you can sign your cats up for, but I also encourage players to find their own niches and partners within the framework of the roleplay and explore whatever aspect draws your fancy.
Be creative! ShineClan has many niches to fill and so long as your cats are willing to follow the Code and give a portion of credit to the Guild, any good deed brings honor to ShineClan's name. R U L E S ★ Follow all forum rules. Duh. If you break a forum rule, you will be kicked from the rp. This includes, but is not limited to: descriptions of mature content or graphic violence, abusing the profanity filter, user callouts, or using multiple accounts/banhopping.
★ Also no human-cursing at all in-character. Find a cat-curse or something creative to replace it with. Minor cursing is allowed on the discussion thread, as long as it isn't censored.
★ Bash characters, not players. If you have a problem with another player, please notify me via DM and I will either try to work it out or involve the mods if needed.
★ Go wild with your designs! Make your cat purple and gold with a unicorn horn! Make your elemental "cats" carved from ice!
★ However, be careful on the "superpowers" or "magic". Soft, small magics are okay, but please do not make your cat so overpowered, they are invincible.
★ This is a relaxed rp, so there are no hard rules on activity. If you know you'll be away for a while, please try and find a way to take your cats out of any bigger scenes so other players aren't stuck waiting for you. Or at least let people know you will be missing so they can move on without you. I will personally unstick characters if an rp'er hasn't responded in five days without prior notice
★ All rp MUST be in the third person past tense (She jumped over the creek). One liners should be avoided; give the other players something to work with. Try your best to use proper grammar and punctuation: you're writing a story, not sending a text.
★ NO godmodding (you can only control your own cats' actions, never another player's), NO spotlighting (making everything about your character and excluding others from plots), NO powerplay (aka making your cat perfect, or having them know every cat's secret without being told; you the player will know things your cat doesn't) and NO PCK (injuring, killing, or fighting another character's cat without discussion and permission beforehand). All four of these rules are under a "one warning" policy. The first time you will be reminded, but the second time you will be kicked from the rp.

C O D E (Tbh I'm lazy and I don't feel like worldbuilding rn. The full Code will go up "later". Just assume it's very similar to the Warrior Code for now.)
★ Always help cats in need. The strong have a responsibility to the weak. ShineClan cats must always support the underdog, no matter what.
★ ShineClan cats must only kill as a last resort.
★ ... G U I L D H A L L ★ The Guild Hall is ShineClan's main camp. Located at the heart of their zone of control, the Hall is ShineClan's greatest pride and the center of their power.
The Guild Hall is a English summer house, complete with an observatory turret and spreading grounds. Unlike many other crumbling structures and ruins around the land, the Guild Hall is immaculately preserved and maintained through unknown magics.
The entrance hall and surrounding lounges are the perfect places to socialize. There are plenty of rooms upstairs to host all of ShineClan's members, and cats may pick and choose which rooms they'd like to inhabit.
A few rooms are kept in reserve: the kitchens are dedicated to the healers, where sick or injured individuals can find privacy in individual cabinets and the healers have easy access to the pantry and root cellar to store herbs. The mediators claim sole use of the library, and the leader claims the study, where meetings can be held in private.
Otherwise, the mansion and its associated grounds are open to all ShineClan's members to use as they please. L A N D M A R K S ★ These will go here G R O U P S ★ Because ShineClan is a Guild that oversees a large portion of land, there are many other smaller groups operating within it. Make a small group of cats with similar goals and add them here! O T H E R C L A N S ★ There are currently FOURTEEN Clans (or Clan-like groups) that reside within ShineClan's zone of influence. Some of these Clans are strongly allied with ShineClan, while others only grudgingly accept their oversight. ShineClan's warriors may hold loyalty to other Clans while still keeping their membership.
★ FlameClan - A very old Clan to the directly west of the Guild Hall. Close allies of ShineClan. Known for a few old lineages of "pure" hybrids. They have a mixed forest territory with access to the Great Lake. ★ LeafClan - A small Clan to the south of the Guild Hall. Friendly and outgoing, LeafClan is known for taking in outsiders and refugees from other Clans. They are typically apolitical and rely on ShineClan for protection. ★ PollenClan - A Clan that lives in a forest with many huge flowers in the east. Their cats are typically pink or purple. A rather uptight group that likes their privacy. ★ IcicleClan - A Clan that lives in the tundras in the north. Their territory is rather inhospitable and they pride themselves on surviving in such a harsh place. They'll accept anyone that is strong enough to survive in the cold. ★ GravelClan - A very large Clan of cats in the southeast. They border the enemy Clan KestrelClan and are currently at war with them. ★ LakeClan - A Clan of cats that lives in the Great Lake. Yes, in. Their cats must have some adaptation that allows them to breathe underwater. ★ UraniumClan - A Clan in the northeast. Their territory has many shining crystals throughout the territory. They are best known for cats that can glow, but also for having... odd mutations. ★ RabbitClan - A group of cats in the southeast, living on a large, empty plateau. They value speed, and any cat that can keep up with their patrols is welcomed there. ★ MooseClan - A Clan to the northeast. Known for having many cats with horns, antlers, or hooves. ★ ValleyClan - A Clan that lives in the rolling foothills of the northwest. They are also a new addition to ShineClan's oversight, and there are plenty of growing pains associated with bringing their leadership under ShineClan's Code. ★ The Tribe of Burning Spirits - A Tribe to the far southwest, that lives on the outskirts of dunes. They say they can speak to--and summon--spirits that are not StarClan, but many of the Clans don't believe them. They are rather secretive and elusive. ★ The Tribe of Clouds and Rivers - A small group of nomadic cats. They often shelter within other Clans, and bring with them good fortune through blessings. Despite being nomadic, they do not take outsiders into their ranks and only recruit orphaned kittens. ★ The Palace Cats - A mixed group of cats with a loose hierarchy that live inside a crumbling castle in the northwest. There are said to be both treasures and monsters in the depths of its winding crypts. ★ The Stormcats - A recent addition to ShineClan's influence, the Stormcats roam west of LakeClan. Previously a rogue group that was notorious for stealing kits--especially kits with the potential for great power--the Stormcats now operate under ShineClan's watchful eye and while they still seek powerful kits, they are forced to recruit only from willing Queens.
There are currently four Clans at odds with ShineClan. Until they accept ShineClan's oversight, they are seen as enemies by all ShineClan's allies.
★ KestrelClan - A Clan to the southeast, at war with GravelClan. Once three separate Clans, (ZipClan, FreezeClan and DewyClan) KestrelClan was formed as a coalition of the groups to fight back against ShineClan's influence in the area. They do not want to fall under the Guild and value keeping their independence at all costs. ★ LucentClan - A Clan in the far south. They are a Clan that believes in second chances, and shelters many cats that were outcast from ShineClan's alliance. ★ The Cats of Frost and Bone - A rogue group in the northwest, in the mountains above ValleyClan. They have a strict hierarchy and often hold duels to the death, which ShineClan vehemently opposes. They survive mostly off raiding other Clans in the cold seasons. ★ DarkClan - This isn't a Clan at all, but a group of cats that are united in their goal to undermine ShineClan. Many have personal vendettas against the Guild. They do have a home base, far, far to the southeast protected by KestrelClan's coalition, but many of their agents are seeded within the other allied Clans.
F A C T I O N S ★ Political groups in ShineClan's area of influence. These may include coalitions of Clans, opposing guilds, rogue groups and more.

M I S S I O N B O A R D These missions are open for any cat to join! They are goodwill tasks that ShineClan puts forth for their members to complete as part of their Code of Honor. If you don't know where to start in the rp, here's a good place. ★ Search for LungwortThere's a yellowcough outbreak in a nearby independent Clan, PollenClan. ShineClan doesn't have enough herbs in their personal stock to heal the entire outbreak, so Talonstar has put out a request for ShineClan warriors to gather as much lungwort as they can get their paws on and deliver the herbs to the suffering PollenClan. Patrol 1: Sageshine, Ichorblaze, Inkpaw Patrol 2: Open ★ Fox ExterminationA boom in the fox population is causing ShineClan trouble in the south. Talonstar wants to collect a battle patrol of cats to help drive them away, so that prey populations can recover before leaf-bare. Cats on mission: none ★ To Feast!IcicleClan in the north has a cultural festival where they hold a feast when their apprentices are named warriors. But prey isn't running well there, so they asked Talonstar to send a few talented hunters to help stock the prey pile. It isn't ShineClan's typical request, but IcicleClan's leader promised a reward for any cat willing to help. Cats on mission: none ★ ... B I G P L O T S ★ None yet! S M A L L P L O T S ★ Uncovering MagicThe Guild Hall is untouched by time, an unknown magic preserving the manor and grounds from the passage of time. Though the magic is obviously strong, little is known of its origins. Who--or what--caused this? And the better question: why? Cats on mission: Ravensun ★ Open!Come up with your own minor plotline to add it here! Cats on mission: none

talonstar ★ There was so much to be done. It felt like every time he finally got to cross something off his mental to-do list, two more things would sprout up that had to get shoved to the top. Low-priority tasks like redecorate the nursery or visit old friends in FlameClan had fallen so far to the wayside that he imagined it would be moons before had the chance to think about them as more than hypotheticals, wishful thinking.
Talonstar sighed, his tail tip flicking against the side of the massive mahogany desk. It was that time of day--just after sunhigh--when most cats would be napping or sharing tongues in one of the Hall's many lounges, that Talonstar was stuck in his office. He'd set the time aside so that any cat that needed to speak to the leader of ShineClan could do so; he was often out, or helping elsewhere in the Hall, and he'd found it helpful to offer a standard block of his time each day so cats could easily find him.
Some days, there was a line of cats with concerns he needed to address. Other days, it was quiet. That was a good thing, he supposed, as it meant things were running smoothly.
On the other paw, he felt like every click of the grandfather clock behind him marked a second he could be doing something actually helpful.
Talonstar liked the office. It was easily big enough for him to stretch his wings--a fact he utilized, rarely, when meetings grew tense and it was necessary to startle arguing cats to their senses--but it was also confining. When was the last time he flew for sport? He stopped trying to remember when he trailed back over three moons.
Only a few more minutes, then he could leave and do something useful. Behind the grey and blue tomcat, the grandfather clock's pendulum swung, matching the beat of his tail. ★ Am I going to reuse the same code for a post header and only change the colors? Yes. It's called working smarter not harder (and I like this code a lot)
And I gotta have some ramble time to get into characters' heads. Talonstar is sitting in his office, available for any interactions~ ★

ravensun ★ He couldn't help the shiver that raced down his pelt. Ravensun thought only the far north got this cold in autumn--IcicleClan's tundra, MooseClan's boreal forest, the mountains those rogues claimed--but even in southern ValleyClan, the chill cut through Ravensun's short pelt and licked at his skin with its frost-barbed tongue.
Dewflight chuckled at his obvious discomfort and, not for the first time that afternoon, Ravensun shot a glare at the young ValleyClan molly. Torndapple, a sturdy older cat, was in the lead with their apprentice Tamarackpaw close by their side.
Another gust of wind shrieked across the hilltops, blasting his exposed left flank with enough force that Ravensun had to curl his claws into the stony ground to keep from being blown off the ridge. He gritted his teeth and pushed onward once it passed, his only consolation that his destination was just around the bend, and that the hillside would protect them on the blessedly downward trail towards ValleyClan's camp.
"Shoulda stayed home, firefly," Dewflight sneered in the silence between blusters.
"I'm here to investigate the Stones," he said, but it was at that moment that the wind roared again, stealing the words and scattering them like leaves. Ravensun pressed his ears back and he saw rather than heard Dewflight's laugh.
He was late. The Carved Stones at the edge of ValleyClan's territory were discovered almost a moon ago, and Ravensun had been stuck in the Guild Hall kitchens with a sniffle. He'd finally been cleared to make the trip, but for all he knew, there could already be ten cats here working on solving it!
Frustration lent his paws strength and he hardly flinched at the next gust of wind, pushing forward with determination. He would solve the Carved Stones. It was the most important magical find in many years, and he just had to be a part of it! citrine ★ Watching so many cats wandering ShineClan's gardens made Citrine uneasy. She sat atop a statue among the hedges, trying her best to tame her frizzing fur, and it took all of her courage to stay put when her instincts were screaming to run off into the woods and never see another cat again.
LeafClan's camp was easier, she thought. Though there were probably just as many cats around, the thick undergrowth concealed all but a fraction of them so she only had to deal with seeing a few cats at a time.
In ShineClan's bustling Guild Hall, however, there were easily a dozen cats that she could see, with a wild variety of colors, patterns, and traits: cats with wings, swooping over the hedges; cats with antlers, with so many prongs she imagined their necks must be like tree trunks to hold them up; cats that glowed like fireflies; cats that had such wild patterns, she would have thought they must have dyed it themselves.
Citrine took a deep breath, closed her eyes, felt the stone under her paws, until the vibrating tension became manageable again. "Stop distracting yourself," she muttered under her breath. She was at the Guild Hall to take a mission and the sooner she found one to join, the sooner she could be away from this bee's nest of a manor. ichorblaze ★ As soon as the mission was posted, Ichorblaze knew she would take it. PollenClan. The word wormed in her ears and wriggled like guilt. She hadn't visited their bloom-filled camp since she was a young warrior, returning for one night to celebrate her new name with the family she'd left behind. That was over two years ago, now.
Still, she was chained to the place, a sense of responsibility--misplaced as it was--drawing her in like a moth to flame. Irresistible. Deadly.
Ichorblaze growled at the message board, startling a younger cat behind her, but she didn't bother apologizing. The mission buzzed: yellowcough, lungwort, herb gathering. Not a job for a ShineClan warrior trained in war, but one she had no choice but to accept anyways.
Would she be more useful in the fox extermination? Certainly.
She placed her paw on the paper, just beside the word PollenClan, and it glowed green for a heartbeat before her print stuck there, a mark of cowardice for all of ShineClan to see.
Ichorblaze spun on her heel, stalking away from the board, her eyes fire and her tail snapping behind her. She stomped across the room to a paisley-patterned couch, where she settled in to see if any other cat would take the job before sun-high. Hopefully a healer would step in to help, otherwise she'd have to go to the kitchens and have a cat show her the right herb and hope she'd be able to identify it later.
Her claws poked holes in the upholstery. Part of her wanted to rip a gash in the cushion, but she knew the destruction would be unsatisfying, repaired within the hour by the mansion's magic. So Ichorblaze settled on merely bristling, kneading the ugly fabric between her paws, and forced herself to wait. ★ Saving the code colors for later. LOOK THEY STACK !! I feel like I'm playing with legos //smashes blocks together
Okay, there's at least something of a starter for my characters ★

Monarchvow | the Guildhall | open
The hustle and bustle of the main Guildhall was music to Monarchvows ears. She was more than pleased to see the cats of Shineclan do their duty to the clan and work hard. As one of the Deputies it was her job to assure that things went smoothly. She noticed a few cats milling about the mission board, some looking more please than others, and even more cats just enjoying the building in general. Monarchvow carefully watched as Inkpaw approached the board, though it seemed he was following her orders and approaching him was unnecessary. Things were going well, so at this moment in time she didn't have much to do.
Surely she could go and find Talonstar, the tom was always swamped with some sort of work. But the work he was required to do needed the attention from their leader. Meaning that even if she did offer her help it would result in her organizing at most. The she-cat sighed softly and stretched out. If nothing needed her attention she'd visit him as a last resort.
Fallenwisp | Shineclan territory | open
The nice weather had driven Fallenwisp out of the main camp and into the surrounding territory. It would be a waste to just sit around when the weather was this good! Sure, the sun was a bit much for the ghostly tom, but as long as he stuck to the shade for the majority of his wandering he'd be ok. It wasn't as if the sun hurt him, his energy just didn't last long when he was out in the bright light for so long.
Fallenwisp had considered taking a mission, but after seeing the wind gently breeze through the trees he'd wandered off. Before he knew it he was already on a walk. He wasn't out far, so if something came up he could be back just like that "Maybe I'll go sit by the river for a little while." he mused out loud to no one in particular.
Inkpaw | the Guildhall| with Ichorblaze Brownie
Inkpaw didn't want to be here. Ok, that wasn't true exactly. He absolutely wanted to be here, he had made the trip to Shineclan specifically to join their ranks. But standing in front of the missions he realized that he'd much rather be doing anything else. Normally he would have jumped at the fox fight mission, or even the hunting one! But apparently he wasn't allowed to take another fighting mission until he'd tried something different. Monarchvow had snapped at him after the last one where he maybe kinda sorta had gotten out of hand... Which was NOT his fault, that stupid dog had been asking for it! And it wasn't as if he'd meant to destroy that tree.
Hmph! Inkpaw scoffed and glared at the herb mission as if it had personally wronged him. He noticed that someone else had already signed up. Ichorblaze... after a moments thought he remembered her. Inkpaw was a muscle head, but he was surprisingly good with names and faces. He was a little surprised to see the older she-cat had volunteered. Did Monarchvow yell at her to? No matter, he just had to get it over with. He brought his claws to the paper and it glowed softly. The apprentice turned to see if the other was around, and perked up a little when he saw her sitting nearby.
As an apprentice he couldn't do missions on his own, so in the end he guessed it all worked out.

ichorblaze ★ Ichorblaze watched the mission boards from her perch. A few cats signed up for the fox extermination mission and she tried to ignore the envy chewing at her gut at the growing number of paw marks around the edges of that paper.
She was just about to get up and go off on her own, unable to bear watching the sheet with only her singular paw mark on it, when another cat approached the herb gathering mission. The black cat had scaled claws and wings like Talonstar did, but that's where the similarities ended. Where Talonstar took the aspect of a bird, this cat was sleek and reptilian.
He looked better suited for the fox extermination mission, Ichorblaze thought sourly, and he didn't look all too happy either as he pressed a claw against the herb gathering mission beside hers. But at least she wouldn't have to go alone. Ichorblaze stood, stretched, and hopped down from the couch as the cat turned.
She met his eyes, gave a slow blink in greeting as she approached. "So, herbs over foxes, huh?" Ichorblaze asked. Her mismatched eyes deliberately scanned over his scaled claws to make her point--claws which were much more intimidating up close, she had to admit.
"And unless you're trained in herblore, we probably should stop by the kitchens first, so we aren't bumbling around the forest blind." And maybe she could convince one of the healers to join them. It certainly would make their trip more efficient, if they had a cat to point them to the right herbs. Then they could simply help collect and transport them to PollenClan, a job she was more familiar with. ★ 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 They are going to be an absolute menace and I am here for it xp Also do these cats have a written language, or is everything drawn in symbol/emoji? lmao I imagine the fox mission would be like, a fox with clawstrikes through it and an arrow pointing south; the herb mission would be PollenClan's sigil and a sketch of lungwort, with a big yellow "X" for yellowcough quarantine; and the hunting would be IcicleClan's sigil and a few symbols for different prey types ★

Sageshine
She was walking through the guild hall and saw some cats at the notice board. Most had put their names down for the fox extermination but 2 cats had applied for the herb gathering patrol in search of lungwort. Great she thought I finally have some takers eager to gather some herbs. Eager was an over statement. These cats didn’t look at all pleased to be on herb duty. Not in the slightest. She approached them in a friendly way and greeted them with a flick of her tail. “Inkpaw and ichorblaze I see.” She meowed at least ichorblaze looked slightly interested. By the disgusted look on inkpaws face she knew monarchvow had forced him to join the herb hunt. She went to add her paw to the notice board in the ‘herb’ section. Being one of the clan’s healers she knew that the herb patrol would have trouble finding the correct herbs needed for pollenclan without a healer helping.

Inkpaw | the Guildhall| with Ichorblaze & Sageshine Brownie aquatail
"Monarchvow got mad at me after the last mission. She said I needed to 'expand my horizons' and 'get different experiences'." Inkpaw grumbled, flexing his claws and briefly stretching out his wings. He was just about to agree with heading to the kitchens when Sageshine walked over to them. Perfect, now they wouldn't have to make an extra stop. The sooner they could get this done the better!
"Hello Sageshine." Inkpaw greeted, dipping his head a little to the healer. He may consider this mission a waste of time, but it wasn't as if he didn't respect the healers and the work they did. With the three of them, they should have more than enough paws to get the mission done "Let's get going! I want to get back quick and see if I can get anyone to train with me."

ichorblaze ★ Ichorblaze snorted, amused at the apprentice's frustration, mostly because it reminded her so much of her own training. She'd found herself on the opposite end of a lecturing more than once, usually after something got out of hand on a previous mission. She wondered what he'd done to earn a talking to by a deputy.
She was just about to reply when Sageshine appeared, as if summoned by their presence. Ichorblaze relaxed, releasing some of the tension in her shoulders she hadn't known was there. She also got the apprentice's name, Inkpaw. Ichorblaze never really cared to try and get to know the myriad of apprentices ShineClan trained--most of them would go back to their Clans after they took their name, only coming back to the Guild Hall when they were expected to take a mission, like Ichorblaze did.
Ichorblaze gave the healer a respectful nod, twitching her whiskers at Inkpaw's excited voice. "Yes, let's." She led the way out of the busy Guild Hall, through the main door that was always cracked open. The gardens were bright, the paving stones warm on her paws. "Is there any chance of finding lungwort in the east, Sageshine? That way we'll be closer to PollenClan."
She glanced back at the healer, with her golden fur and mint-green dapples, wondering if Sageshine had any PollenClan blood herself. It would explain why the young healer volunteered to lead the expedition, instead of someone more experienced. ★ 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 aquatail I'll get forms updated tonight, Aqua, I have a bit of writing I want to get done today and I'm feeling in the zone~ ★

Sageshine
She thought about it. “Yes that would be the best direction to go in.” She replied. She lead the way waiting for inkpaw to follow.
Sorry it’s a short one

Inkpaw | the Guildhall| with Ichorblaze & Sageshine Brownie aquatail
Inkpaw didn't waste time and immediately fell into step beside Sageshine. He was vaguely aware of the direction they'd be heading, but Inkpaw hadn't done much traveling since joining the clan "How long will it take us to reach Pollenclan? I've never been there before. It can't possibly be that long, can it?" he glanced at Ichorblaze, wondering if she would know. Inkpaw could fly, but the two others couldn't so he guessed they'd be walking. Sigh.
Add on the time it would take to collect the herbs and the time it would take to walk back... oh boy, Inkpaw could feel the time bleeding away. He would be sure to stare Monarchvow in the eye as he finished the mission. As intimidating as she was, Inkpaw was equally as bold. Not that he was going to disrespect her. On purpose. Inkpaw very much wanted to stay in this clan.

ichorblaze ★ She was glad they didn't need to go too far out of their way for the herb. It wasn't uncommon for these types of missions to run several days--the lands ShineClan watched over were vast, after all--but Ichorblaze wanted to get this over with as soon as possible. And it wasn't all selfishness, because the quicker they found the lungwort, the quicker cats that needed the life-saving herbs could receive them.
"PollenClan's camp is close." Ichorblaze said to Inkpaw's question. She tried not to think about how close, exactly, because that only made her guiltier that she had never taken the time to visit. "A long time ago it used to be deeper in the flower forests, but it was moved to be closer to ShineClan. This isn't the first time PollenClan has asked ShineClan for aid. We will need to cross a bit of FlameClan territory first, though."
Or for warriors, or to simply save them from their own problems. That was most of the reason Ichorblaze left PollenClan in the first place: their warriors were so outclassed by ShineClan's training that, unless a cat had no ambitions whatsoever, many apprentices chose to take ShineClan's membership and train there rather than try to find a PollenClan mentor that would teach them anything at all.
It wasn't that PollenClan's cats were lazy, they just didn't see hunting or fighting as valuable skills. They had ShineClan to help with that, so why would they bother? No, PollenClan valued culture: arts, music, cuisine. In that regard, they were snobbish and insular. They didn't believe any cat not born with PollenClan blood could understand their arts, and didn't let any cat into their hidden galleries.
So while Ichorblaze was expected to run off and train with ShineClan, she was also expected to run quickly back as soon as her training was over, or to at least remain in ShineClan to take all of PollenClan's missions and support them that way. When she'd instead run to GravelClan and the war... that's when Ichorblaze knew she wouldn't be welcomed around her home Clan anymore, at least not into their inner rings, not without proving herself worthy again.
Ichorblaze's tail flicked, irritation making her paws move quicker, and it was only with effort that she forced herself to match the pace of Sageshine as they crossed the manor's tamed gardens and pushed into the forest.
The demarcation between the yard and forest was stark: the magic preserving the estate created a perfectly straight line with immaculately even grass and tended flower beds on one side and a wild snarl of forest on the other, cut abruptly in places so that not a single leaf spilled over the edge. It was unnatural, but to Ichorblaze, normal. She found a path that led east, a well-travelled road between ShineClan and the eastern Clans.
The forest was noticeably cooler, too. Either because the sunlight was suddenly blocked by a thick canopy, or because they had left the protective magic surrounding the Guild Hall. Either way, Ichorblaze let her fur fluff out to warm herself. ★ 𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 aquatail oop I did some worldbuilding. That said, this is only Ichorblaze's perspective of PollenClan based on her experiences and biases ^^ And she is pretty biased, having not actually been there since she was a kit also like. I should be writing more from Ichorblaze's actions instead of this in the head stuff but it's so so so hard to break that habit ;-; ★

ravensun ★ He was exhausted yet exhilarated at the same time. So tired the tops of his paws were sore from where he'd fallen half asleep on his paws, dragging himself back to ValleyClan at dusk every night for the last moon. So tired he stopped aching long ago and was simply numb, his muscles resigned to the effort he put them through every day, back and forth and back and forth to the Stone.
But the excitement was enough, a burning fire of want so strong it became a need. An excitement that pushed his body past its limits, many long days and short nights, and allowed him to finish his project in the allotted moon he'd negotiated shelter in ValleyClan.
Once he'd managed to copy the entire thing, Ravensun nearly sprinted back to the Guild Hall, back to the library where the real research would begin. He'd lost the ability to feel hunger pangs long ago, a symptom of seasons of ignoring his own needs to focus on his studies. But he still knew hunger. He felt it now, racing towards the library, salivating at the prospect of juicy tomes and a feast of new connections.
If he'd arrived mid-day, he probably would have raced into the library and started the translation work immediately. As it was, his journey back from ValleyClan had been delayed--snowmelt bloated a river, swamping the bridge; he'd needed to wait for a FlameClan winged warrior to ferry him across, and that had taken most of the day--and so he stepped foot onto the Guild Hall's grounds when the moon was well in the sky, his eyes nearly closed as he staggered (almost entirely by muscle memory and habit, too tired to direct his own paws) to a small nook he claimed as his home on the second floor.
Ravensun should have known he'd sleep through the entire next day.
He'd needed it, certainly, and though he wasn't happy to lose the time he could have spent in the stacks, rationally he knew he would work better once he had a chance to recharge. He should cut the day's research short too, give himself the chance to recover fully from the fieldwork.
But he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't have enough willpower to pull himself away, he knew that already. So he'd forced himself to a big breakfast--a plump robin--before heading to the library, where he'd spend the rest of the day.
And probably a moon's worth of days to come. ★ Moved him back to the Guild Hall for easier interactions <3 lazzylake I'm passing you the lead to describe the library itself (; ★

Inkpaw | the forest | with Ichorblaze & Sageshine Brownie aquatail
Inkpaw nodded, listening to the older she-cat speak. Well... at least they were close... Inkpaw would have been distraught if it were farther and he had to make the whole journey on paw "Well, I guess it could have been worse." for him, for Ichorblaze it seemed like quite the chore. Inkpaw was glad, to some extent, that he still got along with his home faction. Of course he was more than happy to be in Shineclan, it was the best place to train after all. But not getting along with a faction that he was supposed to help seemed irritating at best.
"Should we get to collecting herbs first?" he jumped over a fallen log, digging his claws into the dead wood "Or do we need to speak with the clan leader first?" this was his first time doing a mission like this.

ichorblaze ★ "We don't need to speak to anyone first. We're ShineClan--we can do whatever we need to do to complete the mission," Ichorblaze said, and the bitterness of that reality was clear in her voice, even if there was a fair bit of pride there too. ShineClan deserved that latitude, after how much they helped the other Clans. But she'd been on the edge of wars long enough to know that having the power to help was only ever a stumble away from abusing it.
She paused in the middle of the trail for a moment, thinking, then pointed south, where a smaller path forked and disappeared under the shadow of a hill. "FlameClan's territory ends here, and LeafClan won't mind us looking for herbs on their land."
Ichorblaze was making the assumption that there wasn't any obvious growths of lungwort on PollenClan's own territory, or if they did, that they were already harvested. If they had easy access to the herb already, they wouldn't need to petition ShineClan for aid. ShineClan had been born of LeafClan and FlameClan warriors, and both remained staunch supporters of the Guild.

Sageshine
She had a look around and almost instantly spotted some lungwort. "Over here" she called to the others. "This is what lungwort looks like" she said " we'll need a good few more patches" she grabbed the lungwort and set off to find more.

She yawned, awaking from a peaceful nap. She looked towards the office, where Talonstar sat. After stretching her long paws, she poked her head into the office. "Talonstar?" She mumbled, looking around the area.

talonstar ★ The clock struck. A single, gentle toll that Talonstar had grow accustomed to over his long moons as ShineClan's leader, so much so that only his tail stilled when it happened.
"Talonstar?" The voice startled him more, nearly hidden by the fading chime.
Talonstar's wings twitched, the ghost of an instinct to fly before he quelled it, ruffling the feathers to fit them more comfortably against his spine. "Yes?" he replied, sitting tall. Welcoming, yet authoritative. If he believed in such things, he could almost think Rosestar's ghost was there to brush his spine straight, to show how to place his paws just so.
The thought put a smile on his face as Ivorynight entered the room. "Do you need something?"

She hurried into the den, which a disinterested flick of her tail. She didn't feel like signing up for the hunting task for IcicleClan, but they also promised a prized. One of which she was determined to get. She sat down onto the ground. "Shall I sign up for the hunting task for IcicleClan one the mission board?" She said to Talonstar, tail going to and fro to the tick tock of the greandfather clock.

Inkpaw | the forest | with Ichorblaze & Sageshine Brownie aquatail
It looked like... a plant. Inkpaw narrowed his eyes and looked more closely at the plant "I see." he took some of the plant so he could compare it when he found more "I'll look on the crest of that hill." he flicked his tail in the general direction of a nearby hill. It was steep, and looked hard to walk up. Of course he could just fly, so it seemed like a good place to look. Inkpaw snapped open his wing and flapped once, lifting into the air. He landed on a rocky out look, landing hard enough to shake some dirt and rocks from the area. No matter how hard he tried, his wings simply were not made for landing all light and elegant-like.

talonstar ★ Talonstar always felt a kinship with other winged cats, even if they weren't related to him at all. So when Ivorynight came into his office with a question, his face opened in a warm smile. "You can do any mission you'd like, of course," he said. "But a cat with your skills would be well suited for that one, yes. I'm certain IcicleClan will welcome your help."
Hunting wasn't usually a service ShineClan provided, and he knew that particular assignment would probably be lacking paws, especially when there was a combat mission competing for his warriors' attention. Fighting always drew eyes. "I'm certain FlameClan wouldn't mind if you led the patrol in their northern hills. They rarely hunt there." ichorblaze ★ Ichorblaze watched Sageshine pick the herb and show how to identify it, studying the distinctive freckled leaves. When she was certain she could pick that leaf from the foliage, she nodded.
She was a little surprised when Inkpaw spread his wings, crossing to a ridge in a few, strong flaps. The South had fewer winged cats and it never ceased to amaze her how some could fly like birds if they chose. "We probably should split up, cover more ground. I can go that way." She guestured the opposite direction Inkpaw took, into some denser foliage.
"We can meet back up in an hour," Ichorblaze said. This part of the woods, so close to ShineClan's base and the well-travelled path, should be perfectly safe for Sageshine to collect around here. Let Ichorblaze be the one to go deeper into the forest, the first to encounter danger if it was headed their way. Inkpaw could probably handle himself with his talons. "I won't go far." The quicker they got this part done, the quicker they could drop off the herbs and clear Ichorblaze's green-and-pink splattered paws of the responsibility.

Sageshine
She nodded as the 2 cats separated. She went back to looking for herbs. She searched for a while until finally she found a patch of it. A pretty sizable one too. She went to add it to her pile. And had to do multiple trips to get majority of it there. She left a little to grow back. And then went back to searching. In no time she had a giant pile. It had almost been an hour so she collected her mega bundle and headed back to the meeting place. Ichorblaze was already there and she saw inkpaw about to swoop in. She asked if they were ready and they both nodded, relieved to have finished this part of the job. So they set off again.

||IVORYNIGHT||
She nodded towards Talonstar, dipping her head respectfully with a smile before trotting out the office. With a swift glance at the mission board, she padded west of the busy guild hall, spreading her wings. After awhile, reaching FlameClan territory, she hovered in the air, scanning the high, grassy hills. It was certainly a good place to hunt, where she could dive at prey from the sky without a wing getting stuck on a branch or getting tangled up in a fern bush. Usually, when she hunted in forest areas, where there were much more trees, moss and other things, she'd have to hunt while on the ground. Snapping out of her thinking, she focused on the area, looking around and tasting the air for prey scent, her claws unsheathed.
(Not feeling like actually showing her catching prey because its like 10:11 pm. I might add on tmrw or something, but just assume that shes catching a lot of prey right now. She's also up for interactions if someone is passing by! )
