Hello people of the Cats! This is my first post on the new forums, and I'm pretty excited to finally log on and be here although I have lurked in the Cats since I made my account. Some of you may already know me, but if not I hope we can get to know each other. Anyway I didn't make this post for me but rather for my thoughts on the new Warriors book, Thunder and Shadow. Keep in mind I already know what happens, but so far I'm only halfway through the book. I'll let you know when I get finished. Also I would really quick like to add that my first day of school starts tomorrow, and I start working this weekend so I may not be active as much as I would hope. However I'm glad to be here and now I present to you my thoughts on Thunder and Shadow. xD
At the moment I'm on Chapter 16 but I'll update this as I read more...
- Puddleshine is my favorite character ever right now. I know we haven't seen much of him, but he's the cutest little guy ever! cx Don't bash me for this, but I would not mind if he got into a relationship with Violetpaw or Alderpaw although I would rather have him be with a tom to be honest. c: He's a great medicine cat so far, and the fact that he has anxiety and doubts make him so real. I hope to see more positive things about him in the future.
- As much as I like Twigpaw and Violetpaw, I'm not sure who I like more actually. I feel so sorry for both she-cats, but Twigpaw is so cute, and Violetpaw's POV might be a little more interesting. Because of that I think I just have to wait and see which character I like more. I'm just happy that Violetpaw went back to Shadowclan. Poor thing. :c
- Some people may know that I used to dislike Ivypool, and although I haven't read much about her so far, I can definitely tell you that I like her more than most of these Shadowclan apprentice's. She also seems pretty mature minus the fact she told Twigpaw about Dovewing liking Tigerheart. Speaking of which I heard there's a SE about that couple. Personally I like them so I'll probably read it. c:
- Okay can we all just admire Leafpool for this one scene when she destroyed Onestar at a gathering? Lol! "Stop yowling about Shadowclan's mistakes and think about your own" (Page 241) I laughed so hard at this. Also I really like Leafpool unlike a lot of people, and I'm happy that she stood up for her temporary Clan, but I'm glad she with Thunderclan again.
- Needlepaw or I guess Needletail is her name now... well anyway about her. I read the exclusive scene first, so I went into this book feeling so sorry for her, but that simply does not excuse her actions. She has an interesting character for sure! However I dislike her attitude. At some moments she seemed like she genuinely cared for Violetpaw, but she threw her under the bus that time Violetkit went to talk to the rouges. Right now I'm unsure about her... I think there's hope for her to mature and realize her mistakes, but then again the plot would be better is she turned into a villain.
- Did anyone notice how grouchy Jayfeather was? I've never really been a Jayfeather "stan" but at times during this book I wanted to claw his pelt off! Especially when he was being so harsh to Twigkit ugh. I hope he acts a little nicer...
- I don't mind Sparkpelt's warrior name, and I actually really like Alderheart's name, but Needletail? Really?
- I personally don't know how to feel about Rain much less RainXNeedletail. He seems like an okay guy, but I'm not a huge fan of him or his relationship. I did feel sorry though when Darktail attacked him and took out his eye. Dx
- Speaking of Darktail, I think his character is pretty interesting but flawed in the writing... He comes off as dangerous and mysterious, but he just seems like a less scary version of Tigerstar considering how he seems to want to follow rules. He hates the Clans, but he basically made a Clan, so? I don't know what else to say right now, but I hope that his character develops more and we get to know more about him.
As I said I'll add more things as I read more. But first, before I end this thread, I made a list of cats from Shadowclan who completely support the rouges, and cats who support Rowanstar. Well for the most part.
Oh and also there might be a couple of cats from the allegiance not on this list because they weren't mentioned, they died, or I haven't gotten there yet in the book. Oops. xD
Loyal Shadowclan: Rowanstar, Tawnypelt, Tigerheart, Dawnpelt, Wasptail, Snowbird, Stonewing, Pinenose, Grassheart, Oakfur, Ratscar, Puddleshine, Lionpaw, Birchpaw.
Disloyal Shadowclan: Needletail, Sleetwhisker, Juniperclaw, Strikestone, Yarrowleaf, Berryheart, Spikefur, Cloverfoot.
Since Crowfrost, Beenose, Slatekit, and Kinkfur died they are not listed in this allegiance. I'm not sure where Scorchfur, Rippletail, Sparrowtail, or Mistcloud stand so they're not included until proven otherwise.
Thank you to everyone who reads this thread! As of right now I would give this book a 8/10 rating. This series is getting juicy, and I can't wait to find out what happens next! ^-^ I'm so ready for The Shattered Sky to come out.
