I’ll put forward Hawkfrost! He spends most of TNP envying Mistyfoot, trying to undermine her authority and take over her deputy role. He also consistently leverages the envy of other cats in his machinations for power. He uses Mudclaw’s envy of Onewhisker to inspire the WindClan rebellion, Ashfur’s envy of Brambleclaw to snare Firestar in a fox trap, and Ivypool’s envy of Dovewing to manipulate her into training with the Dark Forest. All three of these cats could also be nominees, but Hawkfrost lives out his personal envy while also stoking the flames of every other cat’s envy to make pawns of them.

Scourge was envious of the land that the forest cats had, this is something he says a few times. But it goes deeper than that, with his whole transition to evil occurring because of his obsession with the fact that other cats were bigger than he was, scarier than he was, and so on. His violence occurs directly due to proving he is greater than those he was jealous of, his siblings, Tigerstar, the Bloodclan rogues, and so on. The last words in Rise of Scourge being centered around him proving his littermates wrong rather than anything else shows he isn't just out for revenge per se, but it's about coveting that respect from others. When he kills the rogue, it's also about the loss of respect he perceives. I think this is separated from pride in so far as it's not that he views himself as perfect or anything, he just tears down others to his level with violence.

Mapleshade certainly fits the envy and would have been my choice. Alas, she was given Thistleclaw’s red dress instead.

I’ll go with Ivypool for this one. Her jealousy in OotS was too central to the plot for me to go with anyone else here I think. Blossomfall would be a good choice too though.

Ivypool, Breezepelt or Ashfur.
Although I already said on the first sin thread that Ashfur fits Lust more so I'm going with Ivypool for Envy instead even though she got over it (and so did Breezepelt) but it still just fits.

With further consideration, I feel Hawkfrost, Scourge, or Darktail would be the most appropriate.
Ivypool and Breezepelt, while poster kids for Envy, don’t really fit the sun anymore as they’ve become parents and have matured to varying degrees.

Why are yall saying Ashfur, he should be LUST!!!! I feel like Mapleshade would have been more fitting for Envy and Thistleclaw would have been more fitting for Wrath, but alas. I’m gonna have to say Hawkfrost (especially about the Stormfur thing, like, bro) or Blossomfall.

Ivypool and/or Breezepelt for sure. They pretty much encapsulate envy for their entire main arcs in OOTS But both of them are no longer Envy, they both abandoned the sin they would have represented if they had continued their respective falls. |

Looks like Hawkfrost is winning this one. I'm fine with that (even though I voted Ivypool) because it does fit. Probably even better than her in retrospect since she did get over her envy unlike him tbf.
This means we got three brown tabbies for these sins in a row so far lol (plus tortie Mapleshade for Wrath)!
Hoping Sol wins Sloth, Leopardstar or Onestar get Pride and Ashfur gets Lust. Because that would just fit very well imo.

But I still think Leopardstar would fit well too since she's literally referred to and known for being prideful/proud in the books leading to her aligning herself with Tigerstar temporarily, which was arguably the biggest mistake of her life. While Onestar would also still fit due to his own pride (and fear of being judged by others) causing him to loose a mate (Smoke), loose a previously valued friendship (Firestar), resulted in the deaths of multiple ShadowClan cats because he refused them herbs, as well indirectly contributing to more cats dying because of his son's actions which he could've prevented by intervening sooner (though Onestar was, of course, not directly responsible for Darktail's actions). His pride quite literally came back to haunt and punish/kill him in the form of his vengeful son Darktail. |

I haven’t read Onestar’s super edition yet so I can’t comment further on him, as he doesn’t really feel like Pride to me. His pride I also wouldn’t say is why his friendship with Firestar ebbed away, that’s more so due to the intense Clan politics he was juggling at the time of his ascension. If he had continued being the friendly cat that we knew prior, someone else could have taken advantage with how WindClan would roll over for ThunderClan in that case or Onestar would have had another coup on his paws. Leopardstar also somewhat fits but I feel she lost a lot of her pride later on into her leadership and after Hawkfrost died once RiverClan lost a lot of their relevance. |
