I never realized Hollyleaf was named after Leafpool. I always just thought she was named after the tree, and holly trees have leaves. *facepalm* So both Hollyleaf and Jayfeather were named after their parents. (I knew about Jayfeather.)
I also didn’t realize Stonefur was named after Stonepelt. Or that Stormfur could be homage to Crookedstar’s original name + Stonefur.
These are so obvious but I just never thought about them. Does anyone else have silly little realizations like this?

This isn't exactly something missed just me not reading correctly but I always thought Ivypool was black for some reason. Possibly because she replaced Hollyleaf in my mind?

I thought Sunstar and Sun Shadow were yellow/golden cats and I mispronounced Twolegs and didn't realize that it was "Two Legs, because humans have two legs" until Dawn lol.
I also always pictured Storm as dark ginger.

my friend first thought that Hollyleaf was white with red stripes??? The only explanation I can think of is: holly is associated with Christmas —> candy canes are associated with Christmas —> candy canes are white with red stripes —> Hollyleaf is white with red stripes A bit of a stretch but otherwise I have no idea lmao

Does anyone else have silly little realizations like this? Sauce? Hollyleaf being named after Leafpool was stated in Erin Hunter Chat 6: Question: Were Jayfeather and Hollyleaf named after their real parents? But how would Firestar know to name Hollyleaf after her mother? Answer: VickyHolmes: Leafpool gave Jayfeather his name as a medicine cat, so yes, she chose it because of Crowfeather. I imagine the parents of a new warrior have some say in their new name, so Squirrelflight would have suggested –leaf to Firestar for Hollypaw. Firestar would have seen this as a tribute to Squirrelflight’s beloved sister, little realizing that it was actually a tribute to Hollyleaf’s real mother! Stonefur being named after Stonepelt was stated by Vicky on her fb. And the Stormfur is really just a speculation, but it’s something I never noticed but makes sense to me.

I originally read the books when I was 8-10 and
I had no idea Cinderpelt had a crush on Firestar. Found out years later through the fandom. Thought Scourges name was pronounced “Scrooge” like from A Christmas Carol. I still have to stop myself from saying it that way.

There was a period of time I completely forgot Scourge was dead. Every time there was a new book involving outside cats I'd think of Scourge and get mad he hadn't come back yet.

Thought purdy had a British accent this sounds dumb but when i listened to a warriors audiobook it was off-putting to me how all the characters had british accents. i mean. i get it, it's written and publish by british people lol. but obviously i always imagined the characters with an american accent since that's what my inner voice has.

Cindrpelt having a crush on Firestar, Gray Wing having a crush on Bright Stream, Icecloud having a crush on Lionblaze. And I always thought Hazeltail and Kestrelflight are brown instead of gray.

maybe i am dumb but i am having a hard time picturing how "douve" is pronounced differently than "duv"? Probably as in more drawn out. As in, "douve" pronounced like "dough" or something like that. Instead of the shorter sounding "duv". Or like one would say the other "dove". So not the bird but rather the past action of diving in somewhere. Just a guess though.
