So...are most of us thinking Frostpaw will end up as leader by the end of the arc now? The last book is titled Star. Frostpaw's pose on the cover is kind of....regal/dignified, I guess, like she's ascended (not to StarClan). And something Kate said on her Instagram "Here’s the cover of Star, the sixth and final instalment of A Starless Clan! I LOVED writing this. ❤️ I hope we have given you the wonderful ending you deserve. Thanks for staying with us for another fabulous arc - one of the best, as far as I’m concerned. ❤️ Frostpaw has replaced Graystripe in my heart as my favourite character." It might mean nothing, but if Kate finds Frostpaw (potentially) becoming leader as a fitting end to her character arc/story....
What are your thoughts on Froststar becoming a reality? I've added a poll.

I wouldn't mind it happening eventually, but pulling a Firestar with her (worse than a Firestar, honestly; she hasn't even earned her name yet, much less had an apprentice), but having her gain such an important position after everything she's gone through lately in such rapid succession just seems like the last thing this poor babygirl needs.

I hope so. I think it would be a satisfying end. Unless theres a big plot twist of nightheart or sunbeam coming to riverclan and becoming leader. They're the only other cats I can see in the role given that they're main characters. I dont think it would be a satisfying end if it was a random background riverclan character.
HOWEVER! No matter who the leader becomes, I think Frostpaw would still be a fitting deputy.

I definitely could see it happening, but right now I'm leaning toward no. Frostpaw has enough setup to be a leader, but I feel like her life has been pretty rough in ASC and the stress of leadership probably wouldn't be the best thing for her mentally.
My theory is that it will be Icewing, since from what I remember she's been shown to be competent and sympathetic towards Frostpaw. I think she'll get more screen time in Wind and Star to set up her becoming the leader.
Frostpaw becoming Kate's favorite character is definitely interesting though. Whether or not Frostpaw will be RiverClan's next leader, I think we're all in for something exciting.

It would be a satisfying ending, but after all Frostpaw's been through this arc I don't think so.

I'm going with the Maybe option. Because even though I really WANT it to happen and think Frostpaw has an actual chance of becoming Froststar at the end of ASC, doesn't mean it WILL become true without a doubt.

I don't think that through all of Frostpaw's meditating, she would come up with herself as leader. That just doesn't sound right to me. So, my vote is no.

Do I think Froststar will happen: I put yes. It really does feel like that's what they're trying to build up to, imo.
Do I want Froststar to happen: I'd be perfectly fine with it because I think it would be a really interesting ending for her, but like I've said before, I'm torn between how cool I think Froststar would be vs. wanting Frostpaw to just be able to exist and relax without a bunch of stress and responsibility piled on her. So right now, I'd honestly be fine with either outcome lol
Side note, but I didn't know that Kate loved Frostpaw to the point where Frosty replaced Graystripe as her fav. Pretty neat, and I'm really happy to hear that she enjoyed writing Star. Makes me extra excited to read it :3

Maybe? But I don't think it'll happen in Star.

*sighs* I really hope not. For the love of- just let these cats rest.
Just because she's not meant to be medicine cat doesn't automatically mean she should be leader. It literally doesn't make sense for her to suddenly be nominated as leader, it just sounds like really bad fanfiction.

I'd say yes, just because there's literally no one else being set up as a leader. Unless book 5 suddenly throws a lot of character development at one of the random cats. I'm honestly quite disappointed that this arc has somehow managed to avoid fleshing out most of RiverClan.
If not her, at a push I could maybe see Icewing (proven leadership skills), Minnowtail (fan fave), Lizardtail (Reed's apprentice), or Brackenpelt (strong morality/sensible).
As for what I think about it, I'm honestly okay with it AS LONG AS they actually address the complications having such a young, traumatized leader would cause. Let her mess up, let her be immature, let her be INTERESTING. I think it could be interesting to see a Fire/Whitestorm dynamic with a very young naive leader alongside a wiser, older second in command, so I hope her deputy is someone like Icewing.

Poll is locked. Seems like most are unsure, and the non-maybe answer that one was "Yes", barely beating out "No" by one vote.

I want Froststar to happen, but involving the nuances of everything's she's been through and her experiences so far. I hope they'll also keep that up in the next arc as well.
