I'm sorry if this is not the correct board for this kind of thread, I looked and could not find a Bamboo Kingdom board elsewhere (and this just seems to be the board with the most Bamboo Kingdom threads in it, but feel free to move it to a different board if it does not belong here)
I was just thinking about getting into the series and was wondering what exactly the plot was? The summary blurb Google gives is it's about 3 pandas who have to complete a prophecy and save their home, but I can't tell if I would find it interesting just based on that.
Without spoiling... are there villains in it? Are the characters compelling? How similar is it to Warriors?

Yes, there are villains.
The characters are alright, but they're better in Warriors in my opinion.
The animals live in groups and have naming customs, there are 3 protagonists all starting off in different groups, there will be 6 books, there's a spiritual force (like StarClan)... that's all I remember. I might be missing some things.

Yeah, the main plot of the story is about panda triplets that are part of a prophecy, but they all kinda have their own thing going on that would eventually intertwine, I'll try not to spoil much. Ghost, an albino panda raised by snow leopards, struggles with his identity and eventually comes to the realization he's a panda. Rain is a pretty stubborn panda who has suspicions for a panda who suddenly showed up who was their leader. There isn't much going on for Leaf besides her trying to look after the other pandas and her best friend is a red panda. This is just the first book. These characters aren't aware of each others existence until later in the arc.
The main characters are complex, especially Rain and Ghost IMO, Leaf is basically the Dovewing for this series but she's not that bad, I find her somewhat interesting. I won't say much about the villains/antagonists because that might spoil the series but I think they're decent so far, the main one is pretty interesting. The supporting characters are complex as well but they don't have as much screentime since the pacing is pretty quick, but it seems to be changing as of the latest book. There isn't that much development for the background characters which is also due to pacing as well.
When it comes to world-building, it's kinda lacking, especially for the majority of the other species that resides in Bamboo Kingdom. When compared to series like Warriors or Bravelands, there doesn't seem to be much going besides religions and naming customs, but that kinda changed as of the latest book, I hope they keep going in that direction. Either way, the characters does make up for it.
When compared to Warriors, it kinda stands out on its own. At first I thought this series would have similarities to POT of Warriors but turns out to be mostly different. Some fighting, mystery, and some of the minor characters having personalities are probably what makes this series similar to Warriors, as well as the main trio being part of a prophecy.
