A B O U T

welcome to sunclan, moonclan, and skyclan: three ancient clans that have inhabited this land for as long as anyone can remember. these three clans have never known peace for very long, living in near constant tension with one another. there is always a conflict or two going on nearly at all times.

self-centered and egotistical, sunclan cats think that they are the best clan of the three. they are not above boasting, and their prideful nature makes them nearly unbearable to the other two clans. like moonclan, these cats have a wide variety with their appearance.

moonclan has always been the more mysterious of the three clans. they are secretive and tend to keep to themselves. it is rare for this clan to join in on a gathering, but when they do, they are a sight to behold. mostly consisting of dark colored cats, they have a wide range of sizes and builds.

skyclan are quick witted and sharp-eyed, there is very little that gets past them. the least versatile to the three clans, skyclan mostly consists of slender and agile cats with short fur, however there are a very rare oddities within the clan.

T R A D I T I O N S

{these traditions are not my own idea, they came from a different site that i was part of with a clan there! though i can no longer find it, full credit to the original!}

❅ true mates
the first leaders of the clans made it so that cats were only allowed be mated if Starclan allowed it, ensuring that their hearts were truly meant for each other. so, whenever a pair wishes to find out if they are what the clan calls "true mates" they journey to the clans sacred spring {in a little cave at the edge of the star cliffs} where the Rosebush lies. the roses on the rosebush will either bloom if the pair are true mates or the petals will fall meaning that they are not true mates. if the roses do bloom, the pair must pick a rose and bring it back with them as proof of their approved bond. if pairs who are not approved of by Starclan mate and are discovered, they are exiled from the clan.

❅ the petaling
the petaling is a ceremony unique to the clan because it is all about celebrating the mated pairs over the moons. this celebration is held every couple of moons in the same spring where the Rosebush is. during the petaling, the approved true mate pairs drink from the spring, who's water is said to bring good health and moons of happy love to those who are mated. after the ceremony portion of the celebration is completed, the petaling pretty much turns into a big feast.

R U L E S

general ||
• all site rules apply
• you may roleplay your own siblings, parents, and kits. you may not, however, roleplay your own mate, crush, mentor or apprentice. it takes away relationship building opportunities with others.
• any and all major plots must be run by me first and should be inclusive.
• all high positions must be relatively active.
• there is a limit on prefixes. only three prefixes, and apprentices cannot have the same prefix.

character creation ||
• no character limit. you may make as many characters as you think you can handle.
• all characters must have flaws. no perfect characters
• no unnatural colors or abnormalities like wings or glowing eyes. only realistic please.

roleplaying ||
• preferably no one liners. i understand low muse, but please try to keep a two or three sentence minimum so others have something to work off of.
• no powerplaying of any kind unless permission from the other player is given.

S U N C L A N

sunclan makes their home among the swamps and forests. the cats here feel at home with the soft earth under their feet and the leaves above their heads. Due to the thick canopy of leaves above them, the cats of sunclan are safe from predators above and from bad weather. their dense forest makes it easy for them to escape ground dwelling predators.

wary of outsiders, sunclan prides themselves on their pure clan born blood lines. outsiders are welcomed, but they're often met with the cold shoulder by many of their new clanmates who feel the need to uphold themselves and their clan. sunclan doesn't often meddle when it comes to the other two clans, and they would much prefer if the others stayed out of their business as well.

1. sunclan camp
where the cats of sunclan live. it is well protected at all times with constant rotating watchers.

2. the ancient maple
the oldest tree living in sunclan's territory. sometimes, when the medicine cats feel particularly disconnected from starclan, they will head to the ancient maple in hopes that their ancestors will speak with them. when apprentices become warriors, they spend the night on watch at the maple tree in order to be connected to starclan. ancient legend says that the soul of the founder of sunclan resides within the tree.

3. stone circle
often used as a play area for kits an apprentices. though, due to being close to skyclan's territory, a warrior must always accompany any young ones who go here.

4. boulder pit
as the name suggests, it's an area with smooth surfaced boulders, perfect for relaxing in the sun. it is often a place of conflict between all three clans. moonclan and skyclan believe that the boulder pits add too much territory to sunclan.

5. training log
this is the place where mentor's take their apprentice's for training. with a fallen log, trees, raised land, and swampy texture, this is the perfect place for apprentices to learn a vast majority of their skills.

6. swamp
the center of sunclan's territory.

7. mountains
while not technically part of sunclan's territory, warriors will use the base of the mountains as climbing practice for themselves and their apprentices.

8. flower field
this is where the petaling ceremony is often held during the warmer moons when all of the flowers are bright and lively. the clan will gather here to rejoice in their loved ones and play games from sun up until sun down.

9. rabbit hills
this is the main hunting ground for sunclan cats. due to it being so close to camp, it is easy for warriors to go for a quick hunting trip.

sunclan cats make their camp amongst the shrubbery, using the natural growth for their shelter and protection. upon entering the camp, to the left is a pool of drinking water for the clan while to the right is the sprout grove, where the clan's medicine cat will plant hard to find herbs to grow and harvest.

directly in the middle of the camp is the tall tree where sunclan's leader will make all of their important announcement, lounge, or simply watch the clan from up high. from the highest reaching point, cats can also see above the shrubbery and out into their territory. at night, guards will sit on the top branches and watch for attacks from above.

below the tall tree is the apprentice's den. there is no proper entrance, mostly open with light shrubs covering the den. however, the den is shrouded by thick foliage from behind. to the left of the tall tree is where the medicine cat's den is located. inside, the medicine cat plants a smaller batch of more commonly used herbs.

directly below lies the warrior's den. much more covered than the apprentice's, it is one of the larges den's within the camp. shrubs grow high above it, a make more of an entrance than most of the other den's. to the right of the den lies the shading leaves where cats will go on hot, blustering days to get away from the beating sun.

next to the shading leaves lies the elder's den and the nursery, located in the back of the camp, they are well protected at all times. both dens open up to a secret tunnel that leads out towards rabbit warrens. this tunnel is used only during attacks to get the vulnerable cats out of camp quickly. during attacks, it is guarded heavily by two warriors to prevent any attackers from following, two warriors will also follow the retreating cats out to make sure they are safe.

above the nursery is the prey pile which sits right below the leader's den. sunclan's leader located their den right by the entrance of camp.

M O O N C L A N

moonclan is the clan that is shrouded in mist and surrounded by hills. most of their territory is covered by fogs, making it a natural cover from predators which is their main advantage due to being so in the open and exposed. they consist mostly of dark colored cats. the are the most disliked amongst the three clans.

the least worried about outsiders, moonclan is open to any and all outsiders to wish to join their ranks, which is where their bad reputation towards the other clans come from. believing that their bloodlines are tainted by impure blood, moonclan is like the runt of all the clans, cast out and shunned by all.
