ToxicClan|~ A Nuclear War Based Clan ~| Introduction Your paws pound hard on the forest floor. It almost feels pointless to keep running. You turn your head around and see the mongrel still chasing after you. The situation is less than ideal. If only you’d listened to your group and stayed with them. Just as the mongrel clamps its teeth down to grab hold of your tail, your yanked by the scruff of your neck. You let out a sigh of relief. That was a close one. After taking a moment to breathe, you whip around to see who grabbed you. A white cat with abnormally red eyes stands tall in front of you with a few cats behind him. “May I ask why you’re on ToxicClan territory,” the cat asked. “T-ToxicClan? What the heck is that,” you ask him. The cat takes a good look at you. What was this cat talking about? He finally takes a step back. “I ask you again, what are you doing on ToxicClan territory?” You let out a sigh. You obviously weren’t going to get away with being on this groups land. “I left my group,” you explain, “That mongrel was chasing me and I didn’t realize this was another groups land. I apologize.” The white cat hums, obviously thinking deeply. He looks back at his companions. Then back at you. “I say we take them back to camp,” he meowed suddenly. His companions look a bit shocked at his decision. Was this not common among the other groups? “Rosestar, with all do respect,” a cat spoke up, “You can’t seriously be thinking about letting some random cat join the Clan! What if they’ve been infected with radiation?!” The white cat, Rosestar, holds his tail up to silence them. This was obviously a cat with authority. What position he held, you weren’t sure, but it was definitely an important one. The cat sighs and looks to the other members of this group. “Meadowpath and Stormdrizzle, you guard behind them. Owleyes and I will be in front along with Rosestar,” the cat commands. Once the cats had assumed their positions, the group began to travel. They padded across the forest for a while before arriving at an old, abandoned twoleg nest. Was this really where they stayed? Once you were led inside and taken to a certain room, you realized just how many cats their were. You realized that this was no ordinary group. “Welcome,” Rosestar started, “to ToxicClan.” |
Territory
Territory
ToxicClan’s territory is a small forest with a stream nearby. The camp is located in an abandoned house located in these woods. A little bit away from the forest is an abandoned town.
Stream: A small stream near the camp where the cats gather water.
Spirit Circle: The Spirit Circle is a circular clearing surrounded by trees where cats go to speak with their ancestors.
Training Room: The training room is located in the living room of the abandoned house. This is where cats go to train.
Camp: ToxicClan's camp is the bedroom of an abandoned house.
Places in Camp
Leaders Den: A small cabinet with a missing door and vines draping over the entrance.
Medicine Cat Den: A large bookshelf that has been tipped over on its side with a curtain draped over the side.
Warriors Den: A wardrobe that has been turned over onto its backside.
Apprentice Den: Under a desk with three solid sides.
Nursery: The nursery is located under a tall bed with the blanket as a partial covering.
Elders Den: A large, low tv cabinet.
Fresh Kill Pile: A drawer that has fallen from its place.
Water Filter: The water filter is where the cats are able to drink water without fear of it being radiated. It's a system that some twolegs left behind that the cats now use.
High Ground: The High Ground is where the leader calls meetings and makes announcement. It is on top of the leaders den.
Garden: The garden is located just outside of the house. It's used as the Clan's main source of herbs.

Information
History
ToxicClan was formed as the result of a nuclear war. Wild cats were trying to survive, but found it hard with the new living conditions. They began to form rogue groups, but still found life to be hard. One group in particular decided that they needed an organized group with a ranking system. Once they found the perfect place to settle down, they began to form their Clan by combining rogue groups.
Traditions
Radiation Cleansing: Every moon the cats of ToxicClan use the water from the filter to cleanse themselves of any harmful substances they may have picked up. The medicine cat checks everybody after their cleansing to make sure they're healthy.
Warriors Test: Before becoming a warrior, the apprentices have to pass a test given by the leader. They go in alone, so there's nobody to help, and are asked questions. For example, they may be asked how to use the filtration system or what to avoid so they don't contract radiation. A test of battle skills is also held in the training room by the mentors.
Medicine Cats Test: Just like the warriors test, medicine cat apprentices are asked a number of questions by the medicine cat. They are the same questions asked of the warrior apprentices. Instead of a test of battle skills, they have a test of herbs and healing techniques.
Star Gardens: The Star Gardens is where ToxicClan believes there good ancestors go when they die. Basically StarClan.
Shattered Dreams: Shattered Dreams is where ToxicClan believes their evil ancestors go when they die. Basically the Dark Forest.
Special Jobs
Water Filtration: Everyday, just before dawn, a patrol is assigned the job of filtering the water. They go down to the stream with moss and collect as much water as they are able. Once the water is collected, they go back to camp and run the water through the filter. The patrol may have to go on multiple trips.
Check Up: Before a medicine cat is able to help a cat, they must first go through a cleansing and use RadAway to get rid of the radiation. The only exception is a dying or kitting cat.
Rules
1. Follow the forum rules. They're there for a reason.
2. Be respectful to others and yourself.
3. Do not be rude out of roleplay. If it's the way your character is, then that's fine in roleplay, but being rude to others outside of roleplay is not allowed.
4. Do not make your character the center of attention. While I do believe that everybody should be able to feel important, you should not make your character the center of everybody's attention.
5. Cats, and people, of any gender identity and sexuality are welcome. I will absolutely not accept people who are being homophobic and/or transphobic.
6. Include everybody. Everybody should feel like they contribute to this Clan in some way. I ask that you lease reply to starters instead of making more, that way we don't have a Clan that's filled with starters.
7. Grammar and writing. I'm not too strict on this since I am aware that some people have trouble with reading and grammar, but please try to make it understandable. I would also prefer if your replies were 3+ sentences long (shorter replies are fine if it's all that's needed).
8. Unnatural appearances. This rule is a little less strict that normal Clans, since radiation can make mutations more common in this roleplay. I won't allow crazy colored fur and markings, but unnatural eyes are fine. You can make the skin green, give them glowing eyes, give them SLIGHT body modifications, I don't care, but please do not go too crazy with this.
9. Apprentices cannot have mates. I will allow apprentice pregnancies. I feel that it could make for an interesting roleplay and see no problem with it. I will ask that they are a little older than 6 moons though. You must ask permission before you do so.
10. If you have read the rules, please put "Hot Chocolate" somewhere in your form.
11. Please ask others before saying your character is mates with their character. It could make others uncomfortable for their character to be mates with yours.
12. Do not join and never come back. I don't want people who join and disappear without a word. Please try to post at least every week. If you will be inactive for a certain amount of time, please tell me so I don't mark you inactive.
13. If you do have any questions please let me know and I will try my best to answer them. If you have any plot ideas or prophecies that you'd like to share with me please do! I would love to hear any ideas you may have!

Alien: Human-like creatures with big heads, sharp teeth, squinty eyes, and an astronaut suit. Found mostly in caves.
Barnacle: A stationary creature that looks similar to a stone. Does not attack, but releases radiation.
Bloatfly: An evolution of the common house fly, bloatflies are huge and are most commonly found near bodies of water and swampland. Often attacks alongside bloodbugs and stingwings.
Bloodbug: Mutated mosquitoes that are around the size of a dog. They use their knife-like probes to stab at victims and suck their blood. Might spray blood into victims eyes to distort vision. Found in swamplands and bodies of water.
Brahmin: Harmless creatures that resemble cows with two heads. These creatures are usually found near settlements with feeding troughs.
Crow: A black bird. Seem to be unaffected by radiation. A common source of prey.
Deathclaw: A lizard-like creature that stands on two legs. They are larger than twolegs and have long, shard claws with horns and a long tail. Dangerously fast.
Dog: Same appearance as usual. Still a threat to cats.
Ghoulrilla: Normal gorillas with sharp teeth. Only found in Nuka-World; an amusement park.
Glowing One: Glowing Ones have a human corpse-like appearance. They emit a green glow and can cause radiation just by being near them.
Mirelurk: Large crab-like creatures with siz claws and a tough shell. Mirelurks tend to bury themselves in dirt or sand, making them harder to see. They are found near rivers and beaches.
Mole Rat: They appear like normal mole rats. Considered to be prey.
Mongrel: Dog-like creatures without fur. They're skinny to a point where you are able to see their bones and are very aggressive.
Mutant Hound: Dogs that have undergone major mutations. They appear to be large and resemble a pitbull with large, sharp teeth.
Radgull: Seagulls that have baldness and blistering. They cannot be eaten due to radiation. Mostly seen around water, but can be found anywhere.
Radroach: Roaches that have been mutated and are the size of a fully grown cat.
Radscorpion: Mutated scorpions the size of twolegs or bigger. They have a poisonous stinger that can impale a cat with no hope of survival. They are not common around the forest.
Radstag: Descendants of the common deer. They no longer have fur on their bodies and have two heads.
Stingwing: Stingwings have the appearance of a dragonfly, but have a stinger on the end of them. They are around the size of a bloatfly and blood bug. Found near swamplands or bodies of water.
Super Mutant: Resemble huge twolegs. They possess a great deal of strength. Typically found near buildings or structures.
Whale: The same as regular whales. Commonly found beached. Usually being feasted upon by mirelurks. If the death was recent and there are no mirelurks around, the meat can be taken back to camp as food.

RadAway: RadAway, while commonly used by twolegs, is a pack that a cat must take to cure raditation. There are negative effects such as fatigue and hunger.
The cats of this age will be able to tell when something is radiated and what to avoid. They're usually taught by their parents or mentors.
Sometimes the cats of ToxicClan will sneak into twoleg camps or buildings inhabited by twolegs and take any non radiated food they can.
Kittypets are often left to wander by ther twolegs, but they will go back to them before nightfall.
Rogues are typically seen traveling with a group. These groups can be as small as 3 cats or as large as 6 cats. Most are families.

Rosestar is a huge, white Maine coon tom with vibrant red eyes. Rosestar, although intimidating at first, is a humorous cat. He enjoys conversations with members from his Clan and will try to cheer up any cat he can. He is an exceptional fighter, but has trouble with hunting due to his big size. His only goal is to keep his Clan safe and healthy throughout his leadership.
Rosestar was born into ToxicClan back when mutations and abnormalities weren't as common. At first, cats though his red eyes were weird or a bad omen, but they eventually came around. He was made a warrior with the name Rosecloud and was made deputy under Bristlestar. After Bristlestar's unfortunate passing, Rosecloud was made leader and assumed the name Rosestar.

She gets embarrassed and flustered easily. Meadowpath can sometimes push herself a little too hard. She thinks that since she's the leaders daughter she has to be just as strong as him. She is often tired due to excessive training.
Meadowpath was born into ToxicClan when her father was still deputy. She had already felt a bit of pressure being the deputy's daughter, but once he became leader she felt a lot more pressure to be just as strong as him. She was held back from her warrior ceremony after being sprayed with blood from a bloodbug, as a side effect her eyes turned purple; it was a painful process and still effects her. Now that she's a warrior, she does her best to live up to the expectations she has put on herself.

Shadowstorm is a dark gray tom with black tabby stripes and green-yellow eyes. He has scars on his torso and legs. Shadowstorm is considered to be an overly confident cat. He enjoys showing off where he can and can sometimes be reckless. When others are in trouble, he leaps into action. He loves his Clan and could never imagine living with it. There's no doubt that Shadowstorm is a loyal warrior.
Originally, Shadowstorm was a part of a rogue group. That all changed when they left him to die after being attacked. In desperate need of help, Shadowstorm searched for the Clan that he'd heard so much about. He asked to join and was glad when they allowed him to. He left his old name and life behind and was named Shadowstorm. He now does all he can to show his appreciation to the Clan.

A rather lean tom, he is a white bengal tom with blue eyes. A rather reclusive and quiet tom, he is the type to just keep his head down and work, not wanting to draw attention to himself more than he needs to. His silence makes him a great hunter and tracker. He has a fear of getting close to others so he always is holding others back at a fox lengths away, never truly getting to know them and letting them know him. But to his kits he is incredibly dotting, never wanting them to have to ever experience the type of life he had growing up.
Born into the clan alongside his brother, their parents decided his brother was the golden child of the litter. He often just kept his head down and tried to stay out of the way, as his parents dotted on his brother to no end, and only seemingly finding fault with things he did. Neritecloud has a bad relationship with his brother and parents alike, as he often had to sacrifice things for his brother’s benefit, originally he had wanted to be a medicine cat, but once his brother found out and quickly told their parents, Neritecloud was forced to be a warrior as his brother expressed his interest to be a medicine cat. His parents hadn’t even congratulated him or even cheered for him during his ceremony, instead showing anger that he couldn’t wait till his brother got his full medicine cat name to get his full warrior name. This caused him to have deep resentment towards his family and cut himself off entirely, well as much as he could. One night he was woken up by his brother and after being dragged out of the camp to a kitting she cat, and forced to help, sadly the she cat died during the process, when suddenly his brother lashed out at him and all but threatened Neritecloud into taking the kits in to be his, as they were his brothers but he had no desire to raise them as he hadn’t even truly loved the she cat that had them, and threatened Neritecloud that he would lie to the clan that he had murdered the kitting she cat. Scared he agreed, not wanting to take the risk of living out on his own, but also the fear that rose in his chest that came from not knowing what his brother would do to the kits.

A strikingly beautiful red, cream and brown she cat with long fur, and a feathered tail. She has soft paws, and copper eyes. A rather fearless she cat, not much seems to phase her, and when it does she knows how to throw on a brave face. She doesn’t like worrying others and she often works to keep things to herself and only share them when she feels she has no choice. She can be reckless, and this was especially bad in her youth, though she has gotten better in her later moons. She adores the younger cats and often acts like an older sibling towards them making sure that everyone is okay, though she longs to have a family of her own one day.
Born into Toxicclan, she always loved to hear stories of the outside world, never seemingly getting frightened by them. She was ecstatic when it came time for her apprentice training, nearly headbutting her mentor in the face when they touched noses. It took her a lot of work at the beginning of her training as she was too excited that she could barely pay attention, but after a small scare when she had been getting water for the clan she began to take her training seriously. When it came time for her warrior test she was stressed worried that she wouldn’t succeed, but after a pep talk with her parents she felt she was ready.

Mothpaw is a lilac tabby tom with blue eyes. He is polydactyl and has a bobtail. Mothpaw is a fun loving, friendly cat. He tries his best to be kind to everybody, but can fine it hard sometimes. He is a hard worker who will accept any challenge and complete it to the best of his ability. Sometimes, his fun loving nature can get him into trouble. Mothpaw does his best to follow the rules, but has no problem breaking them sometimes.
Mothpaw was born into ToxicClan. He was born when mutations were more common and weren't that big of a deal. He has no problem with having extra toes and thinks that they make his stand out among his Clanmates.

She tends to speak a little loudly for some cats liking, but doesn't care. If she's being honest, she enjoys the thrill of getting into trouble and often seeks it out. Palepaw is a frequent patient in the medicine cat den due to her reckless and thrill seeking nature.
Palepaw was born into ToxicClan when mutations were more common. Her brother, Mothpaw, was born with a mutation. She found it to be a bit strange at first, but grew used to it.

She doesn’t seem to perceive danger as well as other cats, but she has a knack for finding trouble as a result of it. She is intelligent, though majority of the time it seems this knowledge has been used to try and sneak out of camp or new games to play with her littermates. A determined she cat, she has dreams of becoming a well respected and well known warrior of Toxicclan.
Born to Jay and ???. She and her littermates were adopted by her uncle, Neritecloud. She doesn’t know who her true father is and much like her clanmates believes it to be Neritecloud. Out of her 12 attempts of sneaking out of camp and the shelter as a whole only 1 has been successful and she had only managed to be out for 5 seconds before a patrol that was returning with water had found her.

A snow white tom with bengal markings on his tail and the back of his ears. He has short legs due to e genetic mutation giving him the munchkin mutation, even for his age, and has silver eyes. The strict one of his littermates, he tends to be acting as a second parent almost whenever Neritecloud isn’t around to watch over them. It often leaves him slightly stressed out at such a young age, though it’s clear he adores his littermates. Shrikekit is a hard worker even at his young age, as he is very determined to become a well respected warrior, though he doesn't mind if he isn't able to achieve this as long as he at the very least can be a warrior. Shrikekit often seems a little too cold for a kit sometimes in regards to his attitude towards cats that he doesn't like.

She adores learning how things work, and so she loves watching the jobs around camp like with the water filteration.

A cautious and anxious tom, he tends to always try being the voice of reason among his littermates, that he does often end up going along with them. He often hates the coddling he gets from Neritecloud, and the way his littermates often act whenever they notice him struggling. He is a helpful tom though he is is able to push himself past his fears and often likes to help out when cats let him. He is incredibly stubborn, and doesn't ever want to back down when he knows he should determined to show he can keep up with his littermates and clanmates alike.

Name: Neritecloud Age: 34 Moons Rank: Warrior Physical Description: A rather lean tom, he is a white bengal tom with blue eyes. Personality: A rather reclusive and quiet tom, he is the type to just keep his head down and work, not wanting to draw attention to himself more than he needs to. His silence makes him a great hunter and tracker. He has a fear of getting close to others so he always is holding others back at a fox lengths away, never truly getting to know them and letting them know him. But to his kits he is incredibly dotting, never wanting them to have to ever experience the type of life he had growing up. Backstory: Born into the clan alongside his brother, their parents decided his brother was the golden child of the litter. He often just kept his head down and tried to stay out of the way, as his parents dotted on his brother to no end, and only seemingly finding fault with things he did. Neritecloud has a bad relationship with his brother and parents alike, as he often had to sacrifice things for his brother’s benefit, originally he had wanted to be a medicine cat, but once his brother found out and quickly told their parents, Neritecloud was forced to be a warrior as his brother expressed his interest to be a medicine cat. His parents hadn’t even congratulated him or even cheered for him during his ceremony, instead showing anger that he couldn’t wait till his brother got his full medicine cat name to get his full warrior name. This caused him to have deep resentment towards his family and cut himself off entirely, well as much as he could. Neritecloud-Open
Neritecloud stretched before moving away from his nest and exited from the warriors den, his tail flicking behind him. He gave a glance towards the nursery in quiet thought of checking on his kits, but soon decided against it, it was early, and sides he should focus on getting some of his duties done for the day. He glanced around the camp to spot either Rosestar or Bristlemoss about what patrol he would be on for the day. He gave a few quick licks to his fur, hoping to make it look slightly more presentable.
Lampreybriar-Open
Lampreybriar sat in the camp grooming her fur, she both loved and hated the long fur, as it always took her longer to clean it. But she loved it as when it was cold it kept her nice and warm. She flicked her ear as she heard other cats starting to stir in the camp, springing up to her paws she beamed with a grin, excitement already hitting the warrior ready to start her day. The red she cat settled into a sitting position wrapping her feathered tail around her paws.

.-Bristlemoss, Lampreybriar-. Bristlemoss stirred, feeling his long legs being forced into a stretch. Beginning the day was hard for him, not with a predator lurking around every corner. As the deputy, he'd been bestowed the role of protecting his clan. He couldn't do that. He couldn't save one cat. Drizzlestorm.
The aching feeling of regret plunged him into a world of uncertainty. Would they lose more cats like them? He shook the feeling away. He needed to act as deputy in front of his clan.
As he steppping into the clearing of the abandoned home, he spotted Lampreybriar. "Lampreybrair! Good morning. Sorry to disturb, but do you fancy a patrol? It'll be good to stretch our legs early, then we'll be set for the rest of the day." Bristlemoss meowed hopefully, he wanted to make sure there wasn't anything awaiting his clanmates in the darkness.

Meadowpath's jaws parted in a yawn. All the training she had done the day before had made her tired, even after a good nights rest. Well, a partial nights rest. When she had finally woken up enough to focus on where she placed her paws, she slowly padded out of the warriors den and into the open. She glanced around. Not much was happening in the Clan yet this morning. Her gaze landed on Neritecloud who seemed to be looking for somebody. Taking a deep breath, she padded up to him. "Um, hey. Need some, uh, help," she meowed awkwardly, "Finding someone. That is." |

Lampreybriar-Bristlemoss
Lampreybriar sprang up hearing the voice she knew all to well, the one that belonged to the deputy, Bristlemoss. Grinning to he deputy as he approached her. "I would love to, I was hoping to get out there," she said flicking her tail, excited at the notion of getting out of the camp. The she cat didn't seem to notice the tom's demeanor and if she did she choose not to comment on it. "Where were you thinking of getting out to?" She knew there were a few places they haven't been checking in a while but wanted to see if the deputy had a clear idea of where they were going.
Neritecloud-Meadowpath
Nwritecloud jumped at the sudden voice, his fur bristling a bit but he gave a few picks to calm down and gave. And to Meadowpath. "Kind of," he answered her, looking to the she cat. "I was just hoping to see about going on a patrol is all." He tilted his head slightly to the other warrior noticing her demeanor, before turning his gaze to his paws. He didn't feel it was his place to be asking if she was okay, sure they were clanmates, but he didn't really know much about her other then how she got her purple eyes and that her father is Rosestar.

Neritecloud nodded his head as she spoke, spotting the deputy with Lampreybriar, his tail flicking as he debated if it would be wise to head over or if he should stick to waiting. "It's fine...I suppose," he finally spoke, he didn't mind waiting, perhaps there was some things he could do around the camp? Bring prey to the kits to eat, check to see if the medicine cats needed to go out for herbs and tag along as both an extra set of paws to carry back prey but to protect them. He frowned a bit towards her. "Are...you okay?"

Neritecloud flicked his tail with a slight frown on his face. But choose to not press the issue further, she shouldn't be forced to open up to him. "I hope the day treats you kindly then so you don't run yourself to the ground," he said. He looked towards the nursery briefly. "Kr maybe the medicine cats would have something to help you?" He knew there were some herbs that helped give energy to cats, but they often were mostly used for traveling herbs.
