Hoping to make a friend in Shadow (Ravenshadow )
"Sorry, Sorry, " Bird hurriedly mewed, " I happened to see you injured and I thought I'd help, I'm Bird, you are..?" she asked again hoping this cat wasn't too hostile

(Shadow adding onto the conversation w/ Bird) “oh and I’m Shadow, pleased to meet you.”

(Shadow in the forest with Bird) Shadow nodded thoughtfully. She looked at her now bandaged shoulder and said, “yes I suppose somewhere to go would be nice. I don’t mind the rain but it’s the sleeping in the cold that gets me.” She stood and asked Bird, “Where exactly do you have in mind?”

(Shadow w/ Bird in the forest) Shadow sighed. She got up and began following Bird as she spoke. “Well, I’ve been alone for as long as I can remember. When I was born, my mother got taken by a fox almost six sunrises after. I’ve met other rouges, but those interactions usually ended with…” She paused as she thought of a good way to say it. “-a scar for either them or me.” She glanced at the light scars that patterned her slim body. “Usually both. There was one occasion however where I had no choice. They had their claws on my throat and I panicked. I raked my hind claws against their stomach and the whole thing came out. I try not to kill, but when it comes to self preservation, my life always comes first.” Her eyes filled with regret and sadness. “I… I didn’t realize she had just had a kit. I dropped them off at a rouge camp as they were sleeping but I vowed to never kill again if they had any sort of family.” She shook her pelt, as of to shake away all the memories that encumbered her. But then she smiled. “I did, however, get to witness that same kit being accepted into the rouge group. But anyway let’s talk about something else. What kind of things do you enjoy doing, seeing as you’re alone like me.” She twitched her black whiskers at looked intently at Bird, waiting to see what her reaction to her tale was.

Littlepaw-Chirppaw || Travelling || Ember34

Littlepaw would lift his head up from staring at the ground and look at Chirppaw. "Hello." He would mumble, and wave his tail, trying to copy Chirppaw. He would catch a scent of Chirppaw, he smelled like the bundle of herbs that Valleyshadow had given him. Littlepaw smiled slightly, but each one of his paw steps dragged a little on the ground.

He would sigh. "Yes... I just wish-" He would pause, uncertain if Chirppaw would take his comment as an offense. "I just wish that we could find a place to live- and stay there." His voice would stay the same, though it would tremble. Looking away, his tail down, he would eye a bug on the ground, and as he passed it, he would nudge it away with one paw. "Go, little one! Fly!" He would whisper to himself, making sure Chirppaw couldn't hear, and then continued.

(Shadow w/ Bird fighting off a tom) As soon as Shadow had smelled the tom she had prepared for an attack. She lept at him, knocking him off of Bird. As he recuperated she slashed at his nose, her claws making a reassuring crunch noise as they tore through the soft flesh. She felt her shoulder give out, but limped over to Bird where she stood protectively over her and waited for her to get up. There she stood, snarling and hissing loudly, ears flat against her head. The tom attempted to run at her, to which she smacked one of his front legs, right on the nerve. He crumpled to the floor, now crippled for the moment. She felt satisfaction run through her as she remembered the old numbing trick her mother had showed her. But as she turned to make sure Bird was ok, he ran forward again and she fell, hitting the ground hard. His paw was against her throat as he pinned her to the ground. She looked at Bird and hoped that she would attack or at least try to reconcile with the angry tom.

(Shadow w/ Bird) "Well," she said dryly, "so much for 'don't over exert yourself." She picked herself up off the ground and looked at Bird with newfound respect. "You were amazing. Fighting and healing, is there anything you don't know how to do?" She said it with a teasing smile, attempting to distract her friend from the throbbing wound that burned her shoulder.

(Shadow replying to Bird) nO iT DoEsN’t hUrT
“I mean… hitting the ground didn’t make it any better. But not really; when I hit the ground I hit my hip instead.” She looked at her shoulder. “It doesn’t really look any different, does it?” She got up, and asked with concern in her voice, “how about you? He had you pinned for quite a while.”

(Shadow w/ Bird in the cave, being forced to lay down and rest)

Shadow gave a small humph but followed instructions. She didn’t like being an invalid but she supposed she hated having a dysfunctional shoulder more than being forced to rest for a while. She looked around the cave, her eyes showing that characteristic glint of mild curiosity as she looked around. The cave was small, but big enough for two cats or one large cat. The ceiling was covered with drooping green ivy which provided a convenient almost door over the entrance. Shadow retreated to the very back of the cave and curled up with her tail at her side. She laid her head on her front paws and watched as the rain began to slowly fall with a reassuring tapping noise over the head of the cave.

(Shadow w/ Bird, thankful for everything) “It’s… it’s amazing.” She sat down with a contented sigh. She purred, it was a rusty sounding purr, like she hadn’t done it with a while. It had been so long since she had an actual bed. She looked up at Bird and said quietly, “Thank you. For everything. It’s been a while since I’ve met a friendly cat, and you’ve been everything I’ve needed. Thank you.” She smiled and dipped her head at Bird. Then she curled up deeper into the moss nest and her eyes drooped. It was becoming difficult to not fall asleep…

(Shadow talking to Bird, feeling happy) Shadow agreed. She munched on the prey, and felt comfortable. She liked this new cat, she liked being warm. She had a good sleep last night, and she felt alive. Her shoulder hurt much less than yesterday. She smiled and told Bird, “My shoulder feels much better this morning. Those herbs you gave me really work.” She stood and flexed her claws as she stretched. Her lightly spotted pelt rippled in the mild light, and her eyes glowed. “I feel like I could run a mile!” She giggled as she said it, giddy with joy at feeling so good. She sighed happily and asked, “So what’s the plan for today?”

Chirppaw nodded to his words. "I'm sure that's on everyone's minds," he answered flicking his ear. "But I trust Dawnflower, I'm sure she would say when we are getting close. If what land we are heading to is meant to be perfect for us, then we will just have to deal with the harshness of getting there." While Chirppaw also found himself getting sick of the travel, he just had to trust his mentor and Starclan.
