I’ve noticed that in the fandom, the majority of people agree that Darkstripe is weak for obvious reasons. But i’ve noticed that towards the end of TDH he easily beats Firestar. Here is the scene: Darkstripe leaped toward him, but one of the dark warrior’s paws caught him on the side of the head and he lost his footing. Darkstripe landed on top of him and pinned him down. Firestar twisted, trying to free his hind paws. He scrabbled furiously at Darkstripe’s belly but could not shake him off. How can he be weak when he easily beats Firestar, thoughts?

I think it's not just his phisical ability but his mental and that he will only ever be a follower and thats all he will put him self too. He needs orders or a cause to fight for or he will crumble and not be able to fight. He also trys to posion a kit which I'd think is low for a evil cat an compared to Tigerstar,Darkstripe will only ever be a hench man.

He's weak in the sense that he's a coward and lacks a sense of individualism - he only sees himself as an extension of Tigerstar.

Darkstripe would have been defeated by a very malnourished Stonefur in the Darkest Hour if it wouldn't have been for Blackfoot stepping in. Forever a Dirtstripe hater!

It's so inconsistent, how does he beat Firestar but gets almost defeated by a very malnourished Stonefur? We know Firestar is incredibly strong, even in the first series, so how strong is Stonefur? That makes Stonefur like one of the most powerful cats in the Clans lmao.

Darkstripe IS weak. Both physically and mentally. He almost got beat by a half-starved Stonefur, after all, if Blackfoot had not been ordered to finish Stonefur off.
He's a spineless coward who never really thought much for himself. It was almost always about his loyalty to Tigerstar I, even after he died. And even when he did betray Tigerstar I, such as initially staying with ThunderClan instead of going into exile with him right away as well as him fighting on Scourges side after he killed Tigerstar I, Darkstripe's loyalty was still ultimately to Tigerstar I despite this (since he betrayed ThunderClan for Tigerstar I after his rise to power in ShadowClan and only joined the Great Battle against the Clans on BloodClan's side so he could get a shot at taking out Firestar, Tigerstar I's biggest enemy and whom he blamed for his downfall).
As for his apparent fighting strength against Firestar, in the first instance, I think Firestar was partly caught off guard a bit since he did initially think Darkstripe had found his loyalty to ThunderClan again and that's why he knocked that BloodClan she-cat away from him. It makes me think that Firestar was either at a disadvantage there due to his surprise or the writing just wanted to create a moment of suspense before Graystripe yeeted Darkstripe out of existence like they also did with him and Clawface. In the second instance, when Firestar killed Darkstripe while in Rootspring's body and there was a brief moment where Darkstripe seemed to be gaining ground, I think was also done to create tension in the writing but another thing is that Firestar was not really used to fighting in another cat's body and most likely had not fought anyone in a while or at all as a StarClan cat until then.

I can’t see Firestar being caught of guard by Darkstripe ngl, Fire was able to dodge some of scourge’s blows and we all know how quick he is. Stonefur must have Batman level combat if he in a starved state was able to beat somebody who beat Firestar.

darkstripe is a warrior cat and all warrior cats are very blatantly only as strong or weak as the story demands at a given moment.

I meant that Firestar was caught off guard by the fact that he first thought Darkstripe had come to help him when he knocked that BloodClan she-cat aside but then went for him instead, seeing as it gave Darkstripe an opening to attack.

I mean the fight never ended conclusively. Firestar even prepares to throw out an attack against him before Graystripe intervenes. Perhaps if the only fight Darkstripe ever had was him pressuring Firestar, then we could give him the benefit of the doubt, but he has a variety of other poor showings too and is also called out by the narrative as a coward. Seen in that light, him being able to discomfort Firestar for a single moment doesn't really mean all that much since we don't see what Firestar's counterattack would have been, and most indications seem to be that he would have been able to fend him off. After all, a random Bloodclan she-cat had also discomforted him beforehand too and he had eventually thrown her off too. Firestar's concern was specifically of getting worn down and tired by fights with the rank and file before he could reach Scourge. In that sense, Darkstripe is quite dangerous, but I don't see a reason to say he had actually won that fight.

Stonefur is a bit different. Back in Into The Wild, Graypaw referred to him as a legend, even back then. Take that into consideration, and then the fact that he was also fighting for his life against an opponent who was likely expecting him to be an easy win and is known to crack under pressure, and malnourished or not, I can definitely believe him beating Dirtstripe.

Idk tbh, in ALITM he was able to hold his ground against Firestar for some time before losing and we have seen him in fights like 3-4 times, the fight against Stonefur which he lost, when he got ambushed and beaten by Graystripe, when he was able to beat and almost kill Firestar etc. The only time we really see his bad performance is against Stonefur and the fact that he beat Firestar is odd, but maybe he isn’t as weak as we thought?

Darkstripe after working out in the Dark Forest isn't that weak no. He doesn't really have many poor showings after dying, and he seems dedicated enough to Tigerstar to have given it his 110%. I don't see why he wouldn't have gotten stronger since then.

Physically weak, no. Mentally and psychologically weak, yes. He's easily manipulated and cowardly. Tbh he probably would've turned out to be a very different cat if he didn't have Tigerstar as a mentor. He's always come off as easily influenced by those he holds respect for. Tigerstar is a cat who has always, in a sense, demanded respect. So, it was inevitable that Darkstripe would follow in his footsteps as a young, impressionable cat, and carried this mindset into adulthood.
