We haven't gotten a new novella in a while which is a little disappointing. Do you think the Erin's should bring the novellas back? I think they should because they were little quick reads I could read to take a break from the main line books and the massive Super Editions.

I think they should bring them back for the DF characters without any backstories.

The novella’s are some of my favorite Warrior Cats stories. I definitely would rather have new novellas instead of a graphic novel of the original series that I already have and know everything that happens. I’m not excited and will not be purchasing or reading the Prophecy Begins graphic novel since it is just a money grab and not really any new material. I’m not a fan of graphic novels of already published book series due to the fact that it is an easy way to make money with no major new material.

A novella about Silverhawk, Snowtuft, Sparrowfeather, any of the DF cats really would be cool.

No - mostly because Clarissa Hutton has a tendency to character assassinate pre-AVOS characters, and also what is there that we don't know, or something that makes it worse? Tons of the things in the novellas make little to no sense - like, why would Bluestar and Gray Wing give Blackfoot a life at his ceremony? Why would they include Blizzardwing cheating on Hollyflower? What does any of that do? Redtail's Debt has Redtail literally killing Oakheart, and Ravenpaw being a bloodthirsty apprentice. Tawnypelt's Clan has [checks notes] Shadowkit having a connection with StarClan to save the Tribe... again... from a falling tree because apparently they can't do that themselves... and it references Tawnypelt as being there in Moonrise/Dawn, when she literally went to help them in Outcast, and they treated Dovewing more personally and warmly, even though Dovewing did absolutely nothing to help them, and just idled there the whole time. The only decent ones she's written are Thunderstar's Echo and Shadowstar's Life... which are nearly carbon copies of each other - leaders die and their deputies are killed by dogs, and Mothwing's Secret has Mothwing thinking about Darktail being in the Dark Forest at the same time as Tigerstar and Hawkfrost.
I'm actually glad that they're done. Just like the series, they got gradually worse as they went on. I'm not a fan of Clarissa Hutton's writing and I really don't see any new direction for the novellas to go.

I want novellas to start up being written again, mostly because I'm craving more villain PoVs (such as Brokenstar, Hawkfrost, Ashfur, Darkstripe and so on). We've only had two so far, Mapleshades Vengeance and Tigerclaw's Fury. I just need more!
Also, novellas about redeemed villains/antagonists could be good as well (such as Breezepelt and Snowtuft).
Although I do think the overall quality of the novellas, like with most of the Super Editions, did start to go downhill with a few of them in more recent years. Spottedleaf's Heart was not handled well at all for such a serious subject as grooming, as the worst example.
I'm also not sure if they ever will bring them back since I seem to remember BGA making a video about the topic were she said novellas stopped getting written due to them selling less.

I always really enjoyed novella's. They weren't the best books in the series but there weren't that much mistakes in them. A few have a ton of retcons and mistakes, and then there's Spottedleaf's Heart (...), but I enjoyed so many of them! I really love Shadowstar's Life, Goosefeather's Curse, Pinestar's Choice, Mapleshade's Vengeance, Spotfur's Rebellion, Hollyleaf's Story, Cloudstar's Journey, Tigerclaw's Fury, Dovewing's Silence, Ravenpaw's Farewell, Tree's Roots and Daisy's Kin, and I also enjoyed the rest even though they had some fundamental flaws.

I think people started to not like Clarrisa Hutton's writing as much as the novellas went on. Maybe if they didn't handle such serious topics like you mentioned, people would buy the novellas if they continued. I also think they should have a new person write the novellas if they continued.

Yeah, that could be a factor too. I didn't exactly mind Thunderstar's Echo, which got written by her, but do see the point of her not being as familar with the characterization of the older cast (pre-AVoS). Spottedleaf's Heart was written by Vicky Holmes though and truly just not handled well at all on her part. Maybe Dan Jolley could take a shot at writing a set of novellas now that Graphic Novels with expanded content on arc events from different Clans (such as ASiR and WoC), which he wrote while James L. Barry drew them until the latter retired from doing so last year, are probably paused until the TPB trilogy has been drawn by the new artists (or they decide to continue on with each arc that comes after). Either way, I think Dan would do a great job since most of the GNs have good writing by him, in my opinion.
