One thing I’ve noticed in the newer books is that whenever a character dies, someone immediately names their kit after them. It’s a sweet sentiment I suppose, but from a character perspective I don’t like it. I don’t like whenever too many of the characters at the same time have similar names. I’d rather them have a different name that makes them stand out from the others, and then after a while reuse the old name. Like the amount of time between Lionheart and Lionblaze is fine. Maybe I’m just weird though.

It's alright, but the names always end up sounding so bland. Like, Hollytuft? You guys really couldn't think of anything better?

I agree. There’s a lot of new suffix ideas that would be great to use, or honestly even some of the old ones that haven’t been used in so long- like colors (other than Gray/Black/White), basic descriptors (big/tall/long/small), times of day (morning/dawn/twilight), etc.

As long as it's acknowledged that it's a legacy name I couldn't care less.
But I'm still bewildered at how they managed to use the name "Frecklewish" twice. Wish has never been used as a suffix and freckle has never been used as a prefix...

I personally love the concept of legacy names but agree that it can certainly be easily overdone. Especially in a series with such a large cast of characters like Warriors.

i do enjoy legacy names as i see the purpose to them, but i do agree they can be overdone too much. i think it would be nicer if they did more things related to the name (example: instead of Holly- for Hollytuft they could've done something like Berry-, Leaf-, Willow-, Flower-, etc.) or even came up with a new prefix / suffix that honors the legacy (example: instead of Nightheart they could've done Nightember, Nightflare, Nightglow, etc.)

I liked the legacy names at first, but now it just seems overdone. Like others have mentioned, there are so many other prefixes that could be used. I’d love to see some older prefixes that haven’t been used since the first series to come back, or just new prefixes in general.
