This can range from a major leader to a random character you'd only find on Littlecloud bot or the Wiki. Be strategic!

Tigerheart. Would solve every problem I’ve had with the series thus far tbh.

Ivypool.
I know she’s a lot of people’s favorite, but imo she doesn’t really … do anything as a character that’s actually worth making her a protagonist (other than be a DF camera) and giving her a ton of page time. If she was removed from the series, she wouldn’t have used up so much reading time that could have been spent on developing the other leads’ characters.
I’m not saying she doesn’t have anything interesting going for her as a character, but from a writing perspective her existence has always seemed superfluous to me. Removing her would potentially vastly improve the pacing and development of OOTS.

Tigerheart.
Although I wouldn't mind Ashfur being removed either.

That's a tough pick between Squirrelflight, Dovewing, and Tigerheart.
Squirrelflight sucks up any spotlight from future protag gens and is downright irritable. Dovewing had no character agency of her own, and only existed because they didn't know what to do with Holly. Meanwhile Tigerheart is....god why does he even exist at all?

Nightheart. Just replace him. Give his storyline to his sister.

Either Squirrelflight or Ashfur. Would probably wipe TBC and ASC from the timeline, but that's okay.

Ashfur. Removing him could fix so many problems with the messed up afterlife system of Warriors.
It also could have streamlined Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight’s relationship drama in TNP. Taking Ashfur out could allow time for clearer communication and conflict resolution between them before they get back together. This could lay a much stabler groundwork for their relationship, instead of filling up the page limit with bitterness and jealousy for an underdeveloped and undeserved resolution. It could help them avoid a lot of the never-ending drama in future arcs, if they actually learned early on how to communicate their problems and understand each other’s points of view.

I'm choosing Onestar. His only purpose in this series seemed to be infuriating me. Betraying Firestar, attacking TC for no reason, allying with Sol, leaving Smoke and Darkkit, insisting on sending the weasels to TC's territory, banishing Crowfeather, backing out of the first battle against Darktail and (worst of all) denying ShadowClan the medicine they needed. I understand he saw it as the right decision, but it only helped Darktail take over...

I'm honestly thinking Onestar's the champion of making bad decisions.

I keep seeing this and I don't understand why. For all the horrible things he did, Onestar never allied with Sol. That was Blackstar.

I believe they’re referring to when Sol was allied with WindClan which featured a tunnel attack by Sol and WindClan’s warriors in The Forgotten Warrior. Unfortunately, I can’t remember if Onestar knew of Sol’s existence or was even present during said attack.

That's what I was thinking of as well, but the book makes it a point to say that neither Onestar or even Ashfoot even knew about the attack, it was only a few young WindClan cats Sol managed to manipulate, nor is this ever contradicted, either. Onestar and the other leaders knew about Sol being in ThunderClan, but he was hostile about it like everyone else.

(Outside of Sol getting beaten up, those scenes are hazy in my memories.)

It's been a while since I've read OotS (not that it's an excuse). I supposed that, if Firestar knew about Sol's plans (forgot that he found out after Dovewing, Ivypool and Hollyleaf (hope I'm not wrong) found WC warriors discussing battle plans in the tunnel), so did Onestar. Sorry for creating confusion!

Clear Sky. What does he contribute? I totally agree. If I were to joke, I'd say he shaped Thunder (later "star") into a strong and confident cat (neglecting his horrible methods though).

Remembered an old thread with a similar question and looked on it for my previous answer out of curiosity (the thread is from December 2022). Here it is for those wanting to take a peek themselves. My answer on there back then was: While I still think BrambleSquirrel should have never happened, which would be the case if they just did not exist, the writers would've simply just created other characters/chosen different ones to include that toxic relationship dynamic in the series somehow for sure and we'd still be here fed up with the same drama, just named differently. So my answers these days is Tigerstar II because the battle cat world would not only be a better place without him as leader but also without him as a character. Yes, he brings the drama but not in a fun way, in my opinion. And not only because he ultimately gets away with his bs (treating SkyClan badly, the Sisters situation and sadly most likely the RiverClan conflict) because he's seemingly the writers' pet. But also because his relationship with Dovewing just pretty much ruined both characters for me (even though I still like Dovewing but sis is literally just "Tigerstar's mate" at this point and nothing more in terms of the writing, which sucks).

Definitely Star Flower, Onestar, Tigerheart and Dovewing.
1. Star Flower is so annoying and one of my least fav characters. She basically adds nothing to the plot.
2. Onestar is a terrible dad and leader. All of a sudden when he becomes leader he has to break his friendship with Firestar. Firestar didn't do that when he became leader. And if he actually took Darktail into the clans a lot of cats would still be alive (but SkyClan would remain in the gorge or not idk).
3. Tigerheart (or Tigerstar II) just does what he wants without taking other cats advice. If he had just listened to the other cats about "invading" RiverClan, RiverClan would probably have a leader by now if it didn't seem like ShadowClan was rushing them.
4. Dovewing is also very annoying and sort of betrayed Ivypool when she left ThunderClan to be with Tigerstar II. It should've been Hollyleaf or Ivypool as the third cat. And in general I really don't like her.

Thistleclaw, Finchlight, Pouncestep, Skystar and Onestar.
Finchlight and Pouncestep because they’re kind of meaningless and don’t even have personalities.

Tigerheart. No question about it. Close second is Tree. Tree is useless. Literally. He has not done a single useful thing in this series.
