Lovin’ the ideas guys! I think Char would be kind of like a Worker, but if you guys are okay with it, maybe she knows a bit more medical~ which she will use on the higher rankers if it is required. Perhaps that is what helps them tolerate her craziness. ^^ I’d totally be up to making more rogues too. Though I’ll likely save them for later. Sounds good! The extra rogues will basically just be used as filler/background props. So let's say a patrol of three cats are discovered by our protag group, we could just take three random cats from the list and describe their pelts and that's about it. Maybe a dialogue line or two but that's about it. We don't even need ownership over any of them, they'll just be there for us to use if need be. But of course we can develop "actual" rogue characters that we own, as well.

And during the fire, for the sake of livening the story, my two bro kittypets could find themselves in danger. At first I was thinking my character Mr.Peacemaker would be trying to help everyone out (and of course he’ll try), but from what I’m hearing, there are some other cats far more suited to helping in the situation. And since Mr. Peacemaker is a simple kittypet trying to play hero while he’s dragging around his lazy, selfish bum of a brother around, it would completely make sense for something go wrong. :3

Ohh. I’m excited to see how the map looks once it’s done, like.. overly excited, haha.m
As for the rogue position. I like echos, or shadows. I’m thinking maybe shadows, and they could use echos to describe spirits, or fallen cats. Cause they’re an ‘echo’ left behind, a mark on the world. I have the urge to use claw in all of these titles xD I figure they’d work almost exclusively with the leader and lieutenants. They’re skilled in singular survival, and excellent with words, and debate. Maybe they could even be called Shadow-Claws? Something like that.
And that sounds good, Light! We’ll need someone with medical expertise. Plus it might give an excuse for her to explore the forest more for specific herbs workers might not be able to identify. A forest, means spirit cats in a war, haha.

I can barely concentrate due to fam being stupidly loud upstairs, so I'll just summarize the best I can.
I decided to cut out the second Twolegplace since I couldn't quite fit it anywhere, plus I suck at making human settlements in general. xD The coastal town therefore continues Northwest of the map, beyond the border.
The third map marks The Sturdy Claws' territory. They patrol the border up until the river on all sides, whilst hunting parties cross the river twice into Shadow Forest.
I'll be creating the post-fire map at some point. The extent of the flames will cover most of the top half of the map until where the farm is, approximately. It'll be stopped both by the river and the torrential downpour that will follow.
Also, I couldn't remember all the terminologies at the top of my head, so I've made it so that kittypets and local rogues call Twolegs "the Shapers" if that's alright. Many cats could call their boats "woodbeasts" and their cars "metalbeasts".
Any questions?

Light I've run through my characters very briefly. Misty I won't introduce for some pages into the roleplay, i.e. whenever some of our OC's make their way towards Weeping Woods and the coast. Swindle will be in the sparsely populated deciduous woods North of Sturdy Claws territory. Paleface will still be a member of the group, although not for very long. I'll be making a couple rogues as well, of course. Concerning Zoey and Pepper (and therefore you with Salt), they'll be the first characters I'll be introducing, if that's alright. Would you like for them to get into the action ASAP (in which case we could have one tender moment with all three of them before the fire), or would you like to roleplay a couple in-RP days, showcasing events such as them huddling together, her children going off and briefly getting lost, etc. before the cataclysm? I'll present the two options with greater clarity down below, actually. Let me know which you'd prefer, and ideas are always welcome! 1) We could roleplay a little with Salt and Pepper (both are currently unnamed, yes?) until Zoey returns, followed by them snuggling up together underneath the "Twoleg" balcony before the queen is woken up by the sound of smoke. In the ensuing chaos, both kits are separated from her for some days. 2) We could go with a chiller approach, lasting a minimum of a couple of in-roleplay days. Scenes could include such as them snuggling up together, Zoey telling them stories, the kits getting into mischief by exploring too far, so on and so forth. Repeat the latter half of the first suggestion, or they could have gone on an adventure prior to the event, and they never see home again. Regardless, I'm thinking that they could travel South for a few days before bumping into Paleface, and later Zoey? Do you have any ideas of what could happen with them in this time period (before encountering Paleface), or would you rather go about it organically and not plan ahead?

Ooh. Tough choice. Hmmm... A bit of time together would be nice. How about the day before the fire. They get a day in the life and then get snuggles for the night~ then wake to the fire? If you want more time with them, I’d be willing. ^^
I’d like to take it as we go. Hunger, finding water sources, struggling to survive and avoid predators. Trying to overcome the fear of being alone in the big bad scary wilds. Little challenges that would do well to help us work on and fill out their characters~ and find out how they work together. Aww, it’ll be so fun!

We'll see what happens organically, but a day together sounds good to me!
We're in the same boat then!! I like a little nudge in some sort of direction (ex. kits getting lots, finding Paleface and then Zoey later on), at least initially when starting an RP, but I prefer everything else to be a surprise / in the moment kind of thing. I can't wait either, ahh!!

So Light and soot, at some point in the near future I'm going to start the development of *the RP's information page, which will contain the various maps, types of prey available, lore & terminology, character sheets, so forth. If there are any final tweaks you want to make to your characters, please do so at your earliest convenience. Feel free to repost their profile sheets in turn, but that's not completely necessary. (*We still need a name for the roleplay. )

Those look great, Light! I’m excited to see all of these guys in action. Sorry for my own proofieness! I’ll work on getting my character sheets up and ready. It might take me a couple days to get them all done and presentable , so don’t mind me ^^’
As for any extra things, I’ve not really got anything to add! My main thing to mention might just be making sure spirit is are more included in the explanation of plot and such. Just to make sure they’re fully known. I know you. Probably got that planned, but just in case!
(And for names! Hmm, I’m no good with names ^^’ main ideas would be something beach related. Water Ridge-something or the likes.)

No worries at all for the poofiness! I'm a teensy bit burnt out anyway, so it'll be a few days at least before I properly hop back into this again. As for the information thread and the roleplay, I really want to mess around with BBCode to make it all fancy-shmancy, but to be honest I've totally forgotten how that works, and I don't really care to relearn how. Especially since my original sources of inspiration and mentorship are gone. I hope this is okay with y'all! In terms of character introductions from my end, here's a small rough draft of what I'm going for: 1) Zoey and Pepper - introduced immediately. 2) Misty - introduced a little bit into the roleplay. 3) Paleface - unknown. Depends on how often the Sturdy Claws are used. 4) Swindle - won't be introduced until later on, although we may see glimpses of her here and there. 5) Other rogues - again, depends on how often the Sturdy Claws are roleplayed and to what depth. So with this being said, I may make one more OC to join the protag group fairly early on just so I have something to do in-between things. (Ooo okay, I'll keep on thinking! Good suggestion though!)

I actually kind of like the sound of Water Ridge. XD The Cats of Water Ridge. Cats of the Sea. Pawprints in the Sand. The Seaside Warriors. Cats of Shantytown. Untamed World. Dunno. Completely spitballing here. XD
1) Salt - intro immediately 2) Char - will rp whenever with Sturdy Claws 3) Blare and Hot Shot - before or during fire..? 4) Karma - I probably won't rp her much, but I will if someone wants to. ^^
I will try to get the profiles done either this week or next.

The Cats of Water Ridge sounds lovely! That's got my vote! Perhaps if we can incorporate chapters into the roleplay, we can use some more of these suggestions, such as "Pawprints in the Sand" for when the cats find the beach. Idk, just spitballing haha.
To make the title canonical sense, perhaps I could give Zoey a special ability in that she can read "Shaper language" (which in the area is just plain English)? Perhaps she encounters a sign by the shore that says "Water Ridge" and she proposes that as a name for their new home? Once the group is settled, that is.
Sounds great! I'm writing up Monarch's bio right as we speak. She'll be used pretty much right away and will bump into... someone. Idk who though. xD I'm thinking she'll encounter one of my or y'all's characters sometime during the torrential downpour following the fire.

Ohh, I like all of these ideas, haha ^^’ I’ve got another pair in this, they’re twins that’ll have joined the Sturdy Claw. And Doll is the spirit cat who lurks around the lighthouse, and is a bit of a grump. Annnd one more! Haha, a few of these characters will likely have smaller interactions, so have a few who’re more of my ‘main characters’ if that makes sense. I’ll use all of them! But a few who’re have more of my focus and energy on developing story and such. The ‘one more’ being Akira! I’ll get their character sheets up, like mentioned, eventually, haha. I’m thinking the next few days!
1- Acheron & Moshi - Introduced immediately 2- The Keeper - Somewhat further in, possibly once the other part of the main cast finds the beach? 3 - Marin - Likely further down once the beach is more discovered. 4 - Devin Rez rogue(unnamed), Whenever the Sturdy Claws come up. 5- Didymus & Romelo, once the Sturdy Claw is introduced. (More so background or spares) 6- Doll(Goes by Lurien or Lurker), once the beach, especially lighthouse, is discovered. 7- Akira, likely introduced earlier, if not at the intro.

Another terminology spitball, here we come. xD We've already decided the position of Shadow for the Sturdy Claws. To the few who believe in spirits, how about they call them "Echoes" and speak of them in a foreboding tone? Those that are tasked with burying the dead command a certain respect for them, fearing that if they should be buried too quickly, their spirits may rise out of unease and cause misfortune or even harm to the living. They might even fear hunting South of the territory, for that is where these Echoes presumably lurk, not to mention the obvious threats including foxes and badgers. Most of the Sturdy Claws cats would be close to laughing such a notion off however, believing such claims to be based off of nursery tales and nothing more.
We could have their leader order the rushed burial of a body or for their workers to hunt in or patrol the Southern forest sometime, which could create some interesting interactions. Although a minority, their 'presence' would divide the group a little. For instance, you could imagine a patrol of cats making their way through those cursed woods, and the cats in front yelling at the group behind to hurry on up, or they'd be left behind, with the latter carefully, mindfully making their way through the dense forest, occasionally saying prayers and asking for protection.
These all sound awesome, Soot! I can't wait to see them in action!

I've taken the time to develop some descriptions for all the currently labelled landmarks on the map, which I will be including in the final product of the Information Page. The first drafts are down below.
1) Shaper Camp - A fusty, thronging corner of the oak-heavy forest, occupying one of the sandy shorelines and extending inland. Countless, unnatural looking structures sprout from the ground, many with wooden rooftops, and the contents of their bases range from flat, fairly smooth gray or white stone, to unnaturally colorful shades of wood. The pitiful remains of former patches of woodland lay nearby, reduced to mere stumps, betraying a collective, organized effort towards destruction, and their corpses were used to make the unearthly creations before them as if in mockery. Meandering grassless paths twist their way in-between all the structures like the roots of a tree, well-trodden by the creatures that live there. They are simply bizarre. Many possess colorful pelts covering their otherwise mostly hairless bodies (aside from the tops of their heads, and for some, on their faces as well), and although clumsy, they walk upright with ease. Moreover, they are incredibly tall, towering above any other forest creature, and even on their fours they'd be considered rather large. It is they who not only inhabit these strange structures, but they had built them, like a flock of birds, although these nests are exponentially more intricate and imposing than any you would find in a tree made with sticks and straw. Great Woodbeasts also make their home here, sleeping by the shore, and when they depart to hunt in the endless salty waters, they allow the Shapers to ride upon them - perhaps the Shadows are like ticks or fleas to them, and they simply take no notice. Given the amount of noise that the former make, few creatures live near here, and most of them, seagulls aside, are cats, who appear to choose to live with these odd beasts.
2) Dusty Hills - A large clearing in the middle of the Northwestern deciduous forest near the coast - instead of being occupied by trees, great rolling hills blister their out of the ground. The ground here is particularly dry and parched. Small rodents make up the majority of the ecosystem in this habitat, although they are driven underground during the appearance of the Shapers, with small groups or pairs occasionally settling in these parts some nights, and although they typically do not stay long, they are fairly quickly replaced by the presence of others.
3) Monarch Meadows - A great expanse of low-growing grassland, occasionally interrupted by groves of trees of varying sizes, hugging the Northern river at the base of the mountain slopes. This mystical location gets its name from the swarms of monarch butterflies that migrate here annually for their retirement and subsequent passing, before the next generation is set to rise from the ashes of their forefathers and mothers. Fewer cats live here, despite the pleasant location, likely due to its exposure to the elements, with many preferring the cover of the trees.
4) Leaping Rabbit Hills - A smaller offshoot of the main grasslands up above, this hilly exposed terrain is teaming with its large furry namesakes, but is also home to several varieties of snakes, some of which can prove to be quite deadly to cats if provoked.
5) Goldengrass Farm & Fields - Further down the coastline from the Shaper's Camp is a small outpost, containing much of the creatures' nourishment in the form of golden grass, which grows in a substantial field every year before being ground down and turned into condensed, more hearty meals. A few cats live here alongside the Shapers that patrol the place, although unlike over at the main camp, the symbiotic relationship between the two species appear to be less personal, to where the cats don't even sleep or eat in the same nest as their masters. Instead, they are in charge of patrolling the fields, keeping the vermin population under control and warding away threatening rogues. Loud, bleeping animals exist alongside them, controlled by the Shapers. Unlike them, they walk on all fours, and their coat is so fluffy it resembles the clouds themselves.
6) The Expanse - A seemingly endless stretch of briny water, acting as the border of the land opposite the mountains to the Northeast. Cats can drink from it, but it tastes foul with a terrible aftertaste, so if possible any one of them would preferably seek out freshwater instead. It is inhabited by fish, which appear to be a primary source of prey for the Shapers. Some cats all this perpetual blue stretch the "ocean" or the "sea".
7) Weeping Woods - ???

LOCAL NURSERY TALES AND FOLKLORE
The land surrounding Barren Basin is surprisingly rich in local folklore, despite the presumed majority of its inhabitants to be considered skeptics and rationalists. Many queens tell their children of treacherous cats who were condemned to a greatly shortened life roaming the lightless tunnels underneath their home without any hope of a way out, although without any actual documented accounts, it's difficult to know if these are legitimate examples of punishment, or just as a method to teach kits to keep in line. Indeed, many stories they share with their kits revolve around the notion of, "no bad deed goes unpunished" or "the land only punishes the weak". Another common, although thankfully less harrowing tale involves the founding of their clan and way of life. Details vary, depending on who you should ask, however the common theme involves an untamed land inhabited by ravenous and merciless rogues that gave birth to a visionary, although not in any spiritual sense. His name is never spoken, supposedly out of some curious form of respect, but also serving as a lesson to those who are young - it does not matter the name of the seeds being planted, so long as they give rise to a great forest. That is exactly what he did, if legends are to be believed - bringing others to his cause and driving out the filthy, pushing them to the parched lands in the direction of the rising Sun. He taught his beliefs to his children, and they did the same once they had children of their own, and thus the claw of his teachings were firmly secured for countless cycles. They would call themselves the Sturdy Claws, a testament to their virtually uncontested grip on the land and their tenacity.
THE REVENANTS
Every corner of the world holds its wicked secrets. The haunting forests opposite the way of the mountains outside of Barren Basin is often spoken out of dread for its ruthless inhabitants. To many within the Sturdy Claws, these take the form of familiar beasts, including badgers and foxes. Many generations ago, it is said that wolves - if you have not heard of them, they are larger, duller-coated foxes who lived in vicious clans - that too roamed these lands, but they have seemed to have all but disappeared sometime since for unknown reasons.
The overwhelming presence of these ferocious creatures would be enough to send most ill-trained cats quivering in their nests, and they certainly provide enough of a looming threat to make even the most stoic of Sturdy Claw cats to feel a sense of unease on a regular basis. Still, these pale in comparison to the disturbed beliefs shared by a small but vocal few inside their ranks, with some outsiders having heard of such tales, as well. The stories can be traced back all the way to the Ten Years' War, a great conflict (or to be more accurately, an excruciating stalemate) between previous inhabitants of the gorge, their ancient ancestors, and a large faction of rogues who had travelled from Rogue Country, threatening to destabilize the region through the political shift that would come assuming their victory. The early Sturdy Claws would eventually win out of the battle of attrition, but an entire generation of cats came and went with the conflict, producing a generation of both battle-hardened warriors and faint-hearted, doubtful ones. It is said those who turned away from their brothers and sisters, fleeing into the cold dark woods, were cursed to never found their way out again. As a further act of fated punishment for abandoning their duties, any potential prey seemed to know their every moment, leaving them to go perpetually hungry. Unable to carry their weakened bodies any further, they collapsed one by one. Some claim they now roam the land as gluttonous ghosts, while others describe them as tainted, twisted revenants, empty of essence regardless, always seeking their next unsuspecting victim. They would later be joined by a whole host of others following the conclusion of the war, for the then leader of the basin ordered the bodies of the fallen to be mass buried just beyond the treeline. What dark scheme do these restless ghosts follow?
It can be difficult to find a cat who truly believes in such stories, yet many individuals over the years have claimed to have sighted such abominations, describing them exactly as such. Those who subscribe to the claims and the legends fear trespassing the territory of these unsightly horrors, particularly at night, which is when all accounted sightings have occurred. The dark trend of cats who venture into these woods past the twilight hours never returning, whether due to foxes, badgers, or something far worse, strains the minds of these cats even further. It is said the spirits appear only when a cat is alone, with accounts describing their appearance varying from a near-transparent silver to a blinding, vivid ice blue, in the silhouette of a cat. They always quickly disappear, especially if the witness should approach them with curiosity, or turn around to call for back-up. Those that are marked are followed by this same spirit for many nights, getting closer and staying longer all the meanwhile, and are only visible by them. It is said the final encounter occurs within the camp itself - it is as if the spirit wrests control over their living subject, entering their mind, awakening them and luring them towards the forest border, never to be seen or heard from again. Future leaders have taken these superstitions and weaponized them, threatening to exile any unfit or treasonous worker or combatant into the damned woods.
