soot and Light are invited here! Dark Sun as well, just in case you forget, you absolute pelican. XD
This is the cozy little chat den for the three of us to thought-bubble everything about our upcoming roleplay together, hopefully starting sometime early January! By creating this now, this will give us a little amount of time to think up OC's for our story, as well as what the story will even be about, including its setting!
I think it's important, firstly, to establish the theme or "genre" of what we're going for. I personally vote for something more slice of life or a low stakes adventure. I honestly get overwhelmed in big Clan roleplays, and I don't think we'd have the person power to pull one of those off anyway. Organically, we should begin discussing any potential plotlines, provided we're not just taking it by day with our characters casual style. A long-forgotten Clan that needs to be resurrected? A bunch of kittypets that get lost in the woods or stranded on a deserted island at sea? A terrible disaster that forces our characters to work together for survival?
Choosing the setting will also be crucial! For instance, we could settle for a beach/seaside setting with a sea-shanty type Twoleg presence in the area, it could take place in the mainland perhaps amongst some farms/fields and sparse woodland, whatever we decide!
Post your suggestions down below, and we'll discuss!
The following links above are to the two picrews that I regularly use.

(Disclaimer: This message will continue to be edited as time goes on, and we hone in on a finalized decision. Down below will contain the theme/genre, plot, setting, miscellaneous details, and OC's. Temporarily, an optional character sheet blueprint will also be included.)
THEME
"Slice of life." (No major plot as yet.) Survival.
PLOT
Summary: A forest fire has swept through the forests to the North, displacing countless creatures and causing some to disappear altogether, including Twolegs. The upset in the balance will create new opportunities and new dangers, and each cat will have to decide whether to go it alone, or seek protection amongst their own kind, with each decision creating their own breed of risks.
SETTING
A coastal region with dense forests further inland and towering mountains beyond. The signs of the previous Twolegs' activities still remain, including a lighthouse overlooking perilous cliffs, a small shanty Twolegplace towards the waters, and a tiny Twolegplace further inland. Rivers and streams splice the land in many sections, creating naturally divided territories. Towards the Southeast and further East, the air and land are drier.
WORLD INFO
Climate: Hot Summers, humid towards the cost and drier further inland. Moderately cold Winters, usually producing little to no snowfall. Rain is excessive during Autumn. Spring consists of muggy weather with light, on and off showers. The further East and Southeast you go, the drier the climate becomes.

I can post, right? Just posting for the sake of keeping this in my participated. ^^ I can delete this if you need me to.
I love the idea of a motley crew of misfits forced to work together for survival, whether that be the stranded kittypet option or the natural disaster option. ^^ And I haven’t done a seaside or island cat story much before, so that would be interesting.
I will likely be able to start being a bit more active in the second week of January.

Yes, you're totally allowed to post! Welcome! ^-^ Awesome! soot and I were just discussing the possibilities of a coastal-based or island adventure. I'm personally thinking the former. In my head I'm envisioning a happy little, rustic coastal town housing about half-a-dozen kittypets (with some rogues in the forests beyond) and nearly twice as many Twolegs. Some sort of natural disaster, such as a flashflood or a fire, could cause the Twolegs to evacuate, leaving their precious cargo behind, kittypets included. Unbeknownst to all of them, restless spirits from a long-dead Clan haunt the nearby woods, and soon enough, they'll be haunting their dreams as well. I'm in the middle of developing three new OC's. A fun-loving former kittypet she-cat (name undetermined), a rough and tough 8-moon-old rogue she-cat with an ego as big as the moon itself who lives in the forest (name undetermined), and a loving but fearful kittypet queen (name undetermined). I'll share more once I have further information developed for them.

I'm excited for this! I've got a few ideas cooking in my head as of currently(:
And I really like that idea Dark! Maybe some of the cats around end up sort of claiming the abandoned, left over parts of the twoleg homes as well?
For my main, and current pair of cats. I have the idea of a pair of kittypets who end up going for an accidental adventure, and end up staying as wildcats. A tom, and a little molly are them, and I have one more cat. If we do the coastal-based thing, and there's some sort of Light house? I'm going to possibly either have a cat who lived there before with the light keeper, before it got abandoned or something like that if the twolegs left, and ended up getting left behind? Or stayed willingly, I'm still debating.
Sorry if this is a bit jumbled, It's still going through the works, haha.

Awesome! I'll share a couple of my own concepts down below. For my first currently unnamed she-cat, she's a tender soul and the epitome of calm, but that's not to say she isn't fond of adventures! She claims to know every cat and each nook and cranny along the coast. You can frequently find her meditating on the beach, head turned upwards towards the stars above or facing the directio of the endless lapping waves of salty seawater stretching out in front of her. She belonged to one of the housefolk further inland, but she felt the call of the ocean, and later abandoned her old home. She still visits him from time to time - in fact, she's become a favorite of many Twolegs in the area, many of whom describe her to be like a ghost. She likes Twolegs and the affection they give her, but she's as elusive as they come with them otherwise. She enjoys the small things in life - the sound of rain pattering against metal, the waves on the beach, the birds in the trees. She's like a flower - beautiful but delicate. She's kind and carefree with just about everyone, but should through some event she feel betrayed, it can be quite difficult to win her trust back. With that being said, many of her "misgivings" have been due to misunderstandings, so she has plenty of forgiveness in her heart still. I'm open to her being involved in some romance down the line (she likes both toms and she-cats), maybe one-on-one, maybe with two cats to share her nest. Next up, my second unnamed molly. She's a young character, about 8 to 9 moons of age, but she's as rough and tough as they come. Her various scars across her body come from her utter recklessness and her love of the fight. Due to her self-proclaimed "many victories", she's developed a gigantic ego to boast. She's highly competitive with a mean streak, and doesn't take losing to anything lightly. This she-cat defends her turf as aggressively as any badger, but is as mischievous as they come - she enjoys stalking, taunting and toying with her prey before she chooses to show herself to them. She isn't entirely malicious though - think of her as an untamed lion without any real direction in life. She resides further inland, deep in forested territory.
As for her parents, they are nowhere to be found, and she doesn't speak of them. This has led some cats to theorize that she herself murdered them! Whether this is a misconception or not remains to be seen. Finally, my third unnamed character. She's a pretty and plump calico queen, resident kittypet to a lovely elderly couple further inland from the shore. She's the least developed of my characters for right now. What's important to note though is she's beautiful both on the inside and the outside, and has a very strong love for her kit(s), whom she'd give her life for if necessary. Forced to keep them hidden in case they're taken away by her housefolk, and without a supportive mate to help take care of them, she has developed a lot of fear and doubt as a result (if she can "raise them properly"). Her heart flips out if they dare to do anything too dangerous like crossing the (very lightly traveled) street or roam too far from underneath her housefolk's front porch in general.

soot Oooh, that could be good! I can definitely see at least a couple of rogues taking advantage of the situation and setting up shop in the remains, likely the houses and shops that weren't so torched by the flames. Your ideas sound wonderful, ahhh! I suppose that would depend on the age of the lightkeeper? Are they an elderly cat who is forever waiting the return of their master, or a more youthful spirit? A ghost perhaps? No worries, that's going to be the state of my work as well haha. Once I have everything more finalized, I'll add it to the second top post above. This thread might be only semi-temporary though. I'm thinking of creating a planner's thread alongside the RP itself, the former of which will contain all the official information (world map, setting, character bios, etc.) in one location. This thread could just serve as the central hub for future plot discussion, instead of clogging up the roleplay itself. We'll see! This thread may serve both purposes.

All of yours are sounding so great- xD I've got a few I'm thinking of right now, that I'll write a few things up for to show you both.
And yeah! That's sorta what I was thinking, maybe it could be a bit of a group of cats who took it over. And they're the sort of.. to be avoided cats, maybe?
And I'm thinking of a not too old cat, maybe a bit older in adult hood, but he's just keeping the lighthouse in tiptop shape in whatever way he can! For the day either his master comes back, or perhaps he knows he won't come back, and intends to keep it up himself?
And that sounds pretty good, especially once we've got everything all more organized.

Thanks! X3 I just started developing them on Picrew last night and it was like, bam, their personalities and backstories came to me one by one. Supernova of knowledge! XD
^^^^^ This was totally me. XD
That would be neat! If they're going to be background characters for a while, I wouldn't mine developing one! Perhaps they all wear bandanas or something, that's a decorative option for the picrew that I've used. (The link will be in the top post.)
Ooo okay, cool! Whichever you decide, it sounds compelling either way!
I'm thinking of drafting up the (optional) character sheet. How does that sound?

Ooh. Loving the ideas so far! ^^ I’m not sure what I’m doing quite yet, but I’ll figure it out as I go. I had a lazy cat I made a while back that I had scrapped. Might throw him in. I can be any filler characters required. And if I come up with any ideas in the meantime, I’ll let you know. ;3 I’m sure I will. It doesn’t take much.
And on the based on an image thing, I totally agree! Sometimes I’ll just doodle a cat and suddenly they turn into a character. Might do that for some of the characters I make on here.

My three characters finally have names! The coast-loving molly is named Jasmine (although most know her only by the name of "Misty"), the rough-and-tough young rogue she-cat is named Swindle (self-adopted surname, potentially), and the plump calico kittypet queen is named Zoey. I'll be creating one kit for Zoey and an additional background rogue character for now. Zoey is in need of a second kit! Any takers? Furthermore, we could always use an extra background rogue or two to inhabit the remnants of the seaside Twolegplace, if we're going with soot's idea! Light, what do you think of it?

Thanks! XD I had a lot of fun roleplaying as Paleface (a small dusky brown she-cat with a white-furred face, with the personality of an elderly secretary who can't stand the youth for the life of her), so I'm sure I'll have a blast roleplaying as Swindle as well. X3
Soot, if you want to roleplay as a kit as well, Zoey is open to having an additional two more on top of my own! And sure thing Light, consider that position yours! c: Their age is not yet determined - perhaps 4 moons or so. All I have written down is "a bunch of very adventurous bundles of fur who constantly worry their mother with their antics. She keeps her unweaned litter underneath her housefolk's front porch for now in an attempt to keep them hidden, and checks on them frequently."

I honestly might introduce Paleface as the rogue, I love her too much not to. XD She has so many great quotes too, such as, "You know the difference between this earthworm and you, little kit? This earthworm has a purpose in life. You do not." "If you don't want treatment for your injuries, fine, but congratulations because you look like a kittypet scratching post."

I'm very happy for the character sheet rn, lol. And feel free to make the kit, Light! I have a few others I'm making for right now, so I'm good! I've got a few on my plate to develop .m. I'll probably add a rogue to these guys as a little background character, but these are my main cats currently! I currently have another idea, if we're going for the spirit idea, that the Lighthouse cat, who I'm thinking of naming, but almost like a title really. He'll be called Keeper, or 'The Keeper'. I was thinking maybe, depending on what route we potentially go with, he could watch over spirits? I have a spirit I'm going to put into the Lighthouse with him, and another that might be outside, along the coastal! So, for The Keeper, currently. His personality is a bit more rough, but logical and compassionate. He's a black and white, very silk furred tom-cat. He's an apt swimmer, and with spectacular keen eyes, if a bit bad at seeing in the dark with how often he's been in the bright light of the Lighthouses burning, guiding light. He's got a less scars so much as aches, and past bruises. He has the tiniest of crooks in his leg, which leads to a tiny limp on occasion, that can get ruffled by certain activities. I'm thinking of scrapping my current kittypets, and having a different one actually, haha. And my main other kitties, will be a father daughter pair! Not technically blood related, but practically so. I'm still debating names currently, I'll think of something sometime soon I'm sure! But he's a very thin, lanky cat. All white, with interesting markings of light brown on his face. He's extremely protective, but encouraging of independence. While a reasonable, if cautious and untrusting cat, he's quite sarcastic, and humorous. Well, if you consider complaining, and quips humorous! His daughter, who I've also yet to get a name for, is similar with the interesting markings on her face. She's a light colored brown tabby, with a more lithe body as well, thin and more lanky, and just as short furred as her father. She's a tad sheltered in a way. Very cautious of others, and near completely untrusting. While a tinge sheltered, she's also quite capable. Most of the 'sheltering' done is her fear and distrust of strangers, besides that she's very independent and smart experience wise. Even if she seems shy, and not quite able of doing things, with how often her father leaves her about by herself at home. Or simply tells her to get 'chores' done, she's quite good at the many things of life. The spirits I have planned, again depend a bit on how spirits work in this. The first one is a younger she cat, sorta similar to a Ghost tabby. Grey and white, with slightly more visible tabby markings, and a white chest. She has a few extra toes, and innocent, pleading eyes, sad eyes. Her legs and paws are littered with oddly fresh looking scrapes and marks from something no one can quite tell.. She's polite, if a bit clingy, whenever a cat spots her and stops to say hello. With an agreeable, and compassionate outlook on morals. Besides that, she has quite a saddening, dark outlook on life from her years of contemplation. While young physically, and in mind, she's older than many cats could even really think to imagine. She's bound to the coastal, and even more bound to not step a paw out of the water. She tries her best to enjoy what she has, but more often than not simply can't bring herself to enjoy things when even her afterlife is bound to something she never enjoyed. With a once horrific fear of the ocean, and storms, now she belongs it it. She is, as her mother used to say, 'Belonging to the ocean'. And my other spirit is a tom cat who inhabits the Lighthouse on occasion, and sometimes outside. I don't really have a personality for him besides being grumpy, and sour xD He used to belong, quite a while in the past, to one of the other Lighthouse keepers. While not a very active spirit, not one for showing his face, he does appear on occasion.

So before we continue any further, there's a couple of details we should discuss. What starting season do we want to go with? I could always work on terminology for the seasons, cardinal directions, etc. if that's alright! We could apply them universally, or some cats might be familiar with different systems versus others, which could cause some temporary confusion between the cats! For example, cats like Zoey might use a more traditional calendar system, with 12 unique named months instead of going by the moon phases to tell the time of the month and year. Are there any landmarks either of you would like to propose? We already have the lighthouse and the ocean and the dense forests. I'm thinking they start off more deciduous, but turn coniferous further inland, perhaps at the base of a solitary mountain. There are two Twolegplaces, one is more of a tiny coastal shanty down, while the other (located nearby further inland) is more "modern" with some houses, stores, and other utilities. I'm debating putting in a hot spring and a series of cooler (but still warm) pools, as well as the inclusion of some more rocky cliffsides adjacent to the main beach(es). Once we're happy with the basics, I can begin generating the official map.

Light The name and identity of the father of the kits will remain unknown, which does give us a bit of creative freedom in regard to pelt designs. If you need some direction however, we could make him a dark gray tom with white highlights. I'm thinking of making a tom-kit. What age would you like to go with for your kit? (I'll match of course!) 4, 5, 6 moons, for instance? Since she's keeping them hidden and doesn't know how to hunt, they're unweaned for now. I'm not settled on a name so far, so either I can keep on cracking at that, or if you're open to the idea, Zoey might be quite unsure herself. Either she'll have two lightbulb moments herself eventually, or she'll allow her kits to choose their individual names on their own when the time is right for either of them. Totally up to you!

Ooh, loving the characters guys. Yass. I get to see the famed Paleface in action? How fun. ^^ I'm loving The Keeper so far. And the others sound great!
How recent was the fire? If it was recently, it would make sense to have happened during summer. Or it could be a mishap any time of year really, I dunno. XD Depending how long ago the fire was, we can estimate it from there. Also, what will winters be like? Land near Oceans usually tend to be a bit warmer, right? Less snow if any at all.
Awesome. I'll go with that. Lil' dark grey tom. 4 moons sounds good. ^^ Oooh, I like that. It'd be interesting roleplaying the process of receiving a name! It'll be fun working through the development of this little family.

MISTY
BASIC INFORMATION
- Name - Jasmine (formerly) Misty (current; likely a pseudonym) (Nicknamed "the scentless she-cat", "the ghost of the coast", and "the silent specter" by various cats)
- Body Type - She-cat
- Age - 22 moons (1.8 years, or approx. 22 cat years)
- Allegiance - Kittypet (formerly) Loner (current)
- Territory - Shaperhome in the woods (formerly)
Stretch of coastline near a coastal Shapercamp; never ventures too far inland
- Beliefs - None
- Gender Identity - Cisgender
- Pronouns - She/her
- Preferences - Bi (she-cats and toms)
- Kin - Unknown
- Mate // Kits - None
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- Summary - Dark gray (with lighter gray and white patches) she-cat with pastel light blue eyes.
- Full Description - Misty (formerly "Jasmine") is a very pretty, medium-sized she-cat, sporting a relatively lithe and fit body type, but with little in the way of actual muscle. She has a youthful and vibrant appearance to her, a genetic trait she will likely carry well into her senior years. Some of her more notable features include her very large, glass-like light blue eyes, large ears, dainty paws, and a fluffy and very long tail.
Her coat has adapted to the shoreline ever since she made the permanent move early on in her adult life - it has become far less fluffy in recent seasons, with a sleeker, more elegant look to it, although it still remains as soft as ever, and in some areas the fur grows about as long as it did before, including the sides of her face, her chest, and her underbelly and tail. She primarily sports a darker gray pelt, although various lighter shades can be found in large patches - one covers half the length of her tail (more-so to her left side), another on her left shoulder, a third covers the top right side of her head and face (down to just below her eye), and a clean vertical oval-shaped splotch on her chest is present as well. These are joined by blinding white patches of fur; this includes the middle and bottom half of her faces, stretching from cheek to cheek, and going from the bottom of her chin to above the bridge of her nose, forming a shape akin to a "bird with its wings spread open". The majority of her back is also covered in white fur in various smudges, some much larger than others. Finally, her paws, underbelly, haunches, and her rump are also white.
PERSONALITY & MENTAL TRAITS
- Summary - A very skittish young she-cat who finds comfort in the isolation of her own mind. Occasionally she forces herself to reconnect with the rest of the world, and will always stop to help out a cat in need.
- Full Description - Beautiful like a flower she is, but just as delicate and as sensitive to change. In her own space, where she can retreat into her own world without fear of interruption, Misty becomes the epitome of calm. She can often be found along the coast, day or night, meditating to the sounds of the lapping water. The serenity pleases her, much more so than the bustling white noise that any settlement may generate. She connects with nature however she can, and finds joy and wonder in the simple things in life. Her heart might skip a beat if she had anyone to share those experiences with, but she doesn't know that quite yet.
Misty is as elusive as a warm day when the snow falls. She's as skittish as they come, preferring to observe others from afar, and will retreat at any sudden movements. Some Twolegs have perfected their approach with her, and while she doesn't fully trust them (it's not them she's afraid of, but what they're capable of), she seldom rejects any offering of food or water. She prefers her own shelter however; an isolated, closed environment mirroring her own soul.
Misty almost never speaks. Sometimes she almost forgets how to do it. This could make forming a connection with her even more difficult. The process would have to consist of small gestures, a lot of patience, and excellent nonverbal communication. At the end of the day though, she's a true cat to the core - she'll only approach you when she's ready on her terms only.
BACKSTORY
Jasmine, as she was called back then, was adopted by an elderly male Twoleg, whose come was made from the logs of trees themselves, located deep in the heart of a coniferous forest. Jasmine always liked him - he was kind and gentle to her - but as she would later come to realize, there was always an itch that she couldn't seem to scratch. After a trip to the beach on a harness one day, she found where her soul belonged. Not too long after, she would abandon her home for a short time, returning to that same stretch of coast. Each visit became longer and longer, until eventually she'd spend entire days away from home - no, to her, this was her real home. She was fearful, however, and would always grow homesick, forcing her return home.
Late one afternoon, she witnessed her owner removing the cat flap from the front door. Fearing she would be shut inside forever, the gray-and-white molly slipped through the crack in a window one evening and didn't return for a quarter-moon. She would greet her Twoleg, and was pleasantly surprised when he didn't attempt to pick her up and plop her back inside. It was as if he understood what she needed, and from then on allowed her to come and go as she pleased. He would occasionally make trips down to the shoreline, and would catch brief glimpses of her on most of his visits. He had planned on buying a fishing tackle shop so he would no longer be separated from her, but he could never find the money.
Jasmine would later shed her kittypet name, although for reasons not yet described. She would often be called "the cat in the mist", inspiring her to choose her new identity, Misty. Most did not refer to her by that however, and it wasn't long before she passed into the status of a living legend, a spirit endlessly patrolling the coastline. Some spoke foul of her, while other accounts were born more so out of genuine curiosity and intrigue. Misty never satisfied any of their appetites however, choosing a life of peace and solitude instead, and in a way has bought into the very rumors that inspired her name in the first place.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
• Misty lives on a diet almost exclusively consisting of fish, although the rare bird suits her just fine.
• Ironically, despite her buying into the rumors about her, Misty doesn't believe in spirits at all.
• As she would later discover, she has a terrible fear of heights. She also quivers at the sight of any rat. Something about them gives her the creeps.
• Misty sees a different side to cats than most. She sees most cats as ugly, noisy, and all-round unpleasant.
• Misty has developed an interest in collecting pretty seashells. One tell-tale sign of her presence is if one were to encounter a large group of them in a sheltered location, such as on the inside of a barrel or under an overhanging boulder.

SWINDLE
BASIC INFORMATION
- Name - Swindle
- Body Type - She-cat
- Age - Adolescent (approx. 9-10 moons)
- Allegiance - Rogue
- Territory - Raven's Cry forest
- Beliefs - None
- Gender Identity - Demigender
- Pronouns - She/her, they/them
- Preferences - Undetermined
- Kin - Unknown
- Mate // Kits - None
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- Summary - Brown painted she-cat with countless scars on her pelt, and amber eyes.
- Full Description - Swindle is a slightly smaller than average molly (but don't let her stature fool you). Her painted pelt is a mix of two browns of near-equal composition, to the point it's virtually impossible tell which shade is the more dominant one. Her eyes are a piercing amber. Scars cover her body all over, most of which are scored across her back, the nape of her neck, and across her face, although more are present around her legs near to her paws, as well.
PERSONALITY & MENTAL TRAITS
- Summary - A confrontation, spunky, self-centred spitfire who loves causing mischief and misfortune towards others. She lives for the fight, always looking for the next great challenge, and will defend her keep with tooth and claw.
- Full Description - Swindle is in a way a cat of fire and ice. She can be cool and calculating, slinking through the shadows like a ghost- if you've seen her, it was most certainly on her terms, and she's been following you for quite some time. Should she choose to engage, it'll likely come with it a thirst for combat. Their nerves come alive like fire, and she becomes as unreasonable to deal with as a starving fox. Depending on the situation, her intentions can range from downright malicious to sadistically playful, and at the turn of the tide her demeanor can seamlessly switch from one to the next. She rarely looks to kill however (why negligently eliminate one of her precious playthings, after all?), instead always preferring to toy with her prey. They almost see brute strength as a form of weakness, opting for finesse for her plan of attack. She lives for the fight, and by the spirits above does she love it so much so. Swindle is always looking for the next big fight, the next challenge to topple the last one. Does she want to be beat, or does she want to beat them all?
Swindle earned her name through her rather disingenuous schemes. She's aware that stealing is wrong in that it can cause harm to others, but that is of little concern to her. Besides, she returns the stolen goods... sometimes. In reality, she's just bored - she's endlessly, utterly bored - and engages in these scandals to bring some amount of spice to her day-to-day life. She craves attention and some sort of direction, but this is the only way she knows how to effectively get it.
Finally, she is highly competitive, and is a sore loser in the shameful face of defeat. It wouldn't be above her to cheat to attain victory. Her inferiority complex drives the need for her to always be the center of attention and praise. She boasts a lot, often exaggerating her feats and capabilities. Given the amount of scars on her body and her attitude, anyone can decipher for themselves the number of battles she's participated in (or more likely started in the first place), but how many of these were honorable conquests versus dishonorable ones, or more likely, acts of sheer stupidity and recklessness, is up to individual theorycrafting.
BACKSTORY
Not much is known about Swindle's backstory. Rumors have it that they were abandoned by her parents at an early age, possibly for being too much of a hassle for them to handle, but none of that is confirmed. She wouldn't feel uncomfortable discussing her past, she would merely be totally disinterested by it, dismissing it as "unimportant". All that is known is a few moons ago she has become rather infamous in her little corner of the world, playing tricks on cats, stealing prey, and engaging in needless fighting.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
• Originally, they never had an official name. Once she heard that derogatory although accurate nickname of "Swindle" that was given to her by outsiders, she adopted it with stride and has used it ever since.
• In the future, she'll reference once having an "older sister" who watched over her, although it is unknown if this phrasing is literal or purely metaphorical.
• She is shown to be a picky eater, almost exclusively living off of small furry creatures such as voles and mice. She claims to hate squirrel, and finds fish and frogs too slimy, lizards too scaly, and birds too irritating to eat due to their feathers.
• Swindle mumbles and talks a lot in her sleep. They've also been seen swinging her claws and in general moving around like a fox in a fit. Sometimes she snores as well. All of these disturbances she actively denies.

ZOEY
BASIC INFORMATION
- Name - Zoey
- Body Type - She-cat
- Age - 34 moons (2.8 years, or approx. 26 cat years)
- Allegiance - Kittypet
- Territory - Shapercamp near the coast
- Beliefs - None
- Gender Identity - Cisgender
- Pronouns - She/her
- Preferences - Bi (toms and she-cats, prefers toms)
- Kin - Unknown
- Mate // Kits - Former mate is unnamed, two unnamed tom-kits (first litter)
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- Summary - Plump calico she-cat with green eyes
- Full Description - Zoey is a medium-sized and pretty she-cat and a nursing queen. She has a moderate amount of roundness and plumpness to her, most of which is present in her face, midsection, and her rump. Other notable traits include dainty paws, very long black whiskers, and a fluffy tail. She always wears a purple color with a silver tag, given to her by her owners.
Being an impure calico, her base coat of fur is white, with plenty of black and ginger splotches stretching from head to tail breaking it up. The exception is her underside, which remains solely white in appearance. She has some domestic medium hair in her family tree, evidenced by her fluffier than average coat, save for at her belly ever since becoming a mother.
PERSONALITY & MENTAL TRAITS
- Summary - A very loving she-cat and mother, if not a little bit paranoid, as well, over the safety of her children. She has her insecurities over her parental abilities, but no cat can deny her level of devotion towards them.
- Full Description - Zoey was often described as the life of the neighborhood. She was never one for organized events, however; rather, it means that she was always there if another cat needed help or a shoulder to lean on, and she in general brought an added sense of peace and community to the part of Twolegplace in which she wandered. Her endearing nature made it seemingly impossible for any cat to dislike her, although she was street-smart enough to be very wary around those who looked to smelled rather unsavory. It was perhaps little surprise to her friends when she became a mother, and although she has had her many shares of doubts, she does her best to raise her two sons to the best of her ability. She seldom accepts help from others though, and certainly never asks for it. She isn't proud, but determined to make it on her own. She is an advocate for learning with your own paws and through your own mistakes. The stress has gotten to her though, leading her to become more isolated and paranoid in recent days.
Zoey never wanders too far from her headquarters. She's attached to it and the safety it brings like a caterpillar to a leaf. The thought of how big the world truly is beyond her neighborhood causes her to feel almost overwhelming anxiety, so she does her best not to think too much about it. She prefers a simple, relaxing life without minimal changes taking place.
BACKSTORY
Zoey had a fairly standard kittypet upbringing, but one that she does not herself remember outside nonsensical flashes of imagery. She was born and raised by her mother, and was taken from her at a very young age before being adopted not too long after from an animal shelter. It was only revealed to her much later in life the fate of kits that most kittypets bring into the world. Once this came to light however, and without any sign of her former mate to support her, Zoey bore her children outside of her Twoleg's home, underneath the front porch amongst old furniture and other abandoned clutter.
That was four moons ago. Since then, she has managed to keep the pair a secret, acting completely natural while inside her Twoleg home, but now spends all nights with them to keep them safe and warm, and visits as often as she can during the daytime whenever she feels they'd be hungry.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
• Zoey has always had a tremendous fear of storms, particularly ones that contain thunder and lightning. She'll hide and quiver like a frightening kit during this events.
• Her Twoleg family is relatively modest, consisting of two older female Twolegs, and a noisy young Twoleg she-kit that she doesn't particularly like. Luckily for her, the kit has been taken elsewhere most days for a good length of time as of late. (Specifically, kindergarten.)

PEPPER
BASIC INFORMATION
- Name - Pepper
- Body Type - Tom-kit
- Age - 4 (almost 5) moons
- Allegiance - Kittypet
- Territory - Shapercamp near the coast
- Beliefs - None
- Gender Identity - Undetermined
- Pronouns - He/him
- Preferences - Undetermined
- Kin - Zoey (mother) ??? (father) "Salt" (brother)
- Mate // Kits - None
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- Summary - Gray tom with black speckles (and a black stripe running along his back), a white muzzle, and green eyes. A black spot is painted over and around his left eye.
- Full Description - Pepper is medium-sized, cute tom-kit who is destined to grow into a lean, lithe body type. His pelt is dominantly ash-gray from head to tail, broken up by countless black spots across his back and a black stripe that runs down his spine, up until the base of his tail. He has a white muzzle, and a large black spot easily eclipses his left eye (both of which are watermelon green). His fur is soft and fluffy, much like his mother's.
Measuring stick: At his current age (almost 5 moons), Pepper is approaching 3/4 the size of his mother, Zoey.
PERSONALITY & MENTAL TRAITS
- Summary - Pepper is growing into a rambunctious, thrill-seeking individual who is always looking to challenge himself through the next metaphorical mountain to climb. He cares deeply for his family and looks out for them both, especially his younger brother. Despite his bursting enthusiasm for exploration, Pepper is still quite dependent on his mother still.
- Full Description - Being a young kit, Pepper still has plenty of growing to do, in more ways than one. He is fast developing however, fueled by his drive for exploration and challenge-seeking. He has a never-give-up attitude and is frequently leading the charge with his younger brother in toe as they explore the brave, large world together. His fearlessness is often to a fault, causing his mother to greatly worry as he and his brother will occasionally get lost during their expeditions. He has no ill will however and always does his best to make it up to her afterwards, although he will inevitably repeat the same mistake the next time. He finds himself very attached to her still, and will frequent her for comfort when given the opportunity. Due to his living situation of often being isolated from her for long periods at a time, Pepper has been forced to grow up quick, but there is very much still the heart of a kit inside of him, something that at times he is ashamed by, and at other times wholy gives into.
BACKSTORY
Pepper was born inside a small but bustling Twolegplace along with his younger brother, Salt. They never knew their father, leaving Zoey, their mother, to raise them all on her own. Traditionally, kittypet kits would be seperated from their mothers at an early age and found new homes, but Zoey did not wish the same fate upon her kits, and as such both Pepper and Salt have been raised in secret right under their mother's housefolk's noses. They are both currently unnamed, but not out of a lack of love.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
• Pepper is easily irritated by most species of flowers, especially by but not limited to dandelions. If near them, he develops a runny nose and sneezes constantly. In general, he seems to have a moderately poor immune system - not to the point of it being dangerous, but in the future it'll be shown that he frequently gets colds or fevers.
• Pepper was born partially deaf in his left ear, giving him balancing issues as well as hearing problems.
• He is still exclusively reliant on his mother's milk for sustenence. Even after leaving for the forest, this will continue for some time.
• Followed by moons of his younger brother teasing him with scary stories about what might go bump in the night, Pepper has developed an irrational fear of the dark, although he always denies this despite expressing obvious symptoms.

PALEFACE
BASIC INFORMATION
- Name - Paleface
- Body Type - She-cat
- Age - 112 moons (9.3 years, or approx. 56 cat years)
- Allegiance - Sturdy Claws
- Territory - Barren Basin and coniferous forests beyond
- Beliefs - None
- Gender Identity - Cisgender
- Pronouns - She/her
- Preferences - Asexual, aromantic
- Kin - Unknown
- Mate // Kits - None
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- Summary - Small peach-ginger she-cat with a white-painted face with short ears, and green eyes.
- Full Description - Paleface is a modestly small but sturdy-looking she-cat. Her peach-ginger fur is short and pokey to the touch, with the color only interrupted across her face, which is plastered white. Her eyes are dark green, although very rarely turn bloodlust red when she's at her worst temper. She is often described as "rather or very ugly", with a less than pleasant-looking face, short ears (the left of which has a cut in it), and a natural scowl and a frown that always seems to be present, day and night. A few scars interrupt her pelt - several of which are present at the base of her tail, another at her throat, and a couple more slashed across her muzzle.
PERSONALITY & MENTAL TRAITS
- Summary - Always irritated, always grouchy, always looking a bone to pick with the young'uns. Her temper starts at unamused and it only gets worse from there. Although loyal to whatever group she finds herself in, she mostly only looks out for her own rump, and her social standing is less than stable.
- Full Description - Paleface is the equivalent of an elderly secretary who has lost all patience with the world and every cat in it. She was a perfect fit for the Sturdy Claws - she's as tough as they come, has a no-nonsense attitude, and has zero tolerance for error, and as a result she served loyally under them for many years, quickly rising through the ranks until falling under the highly coveted position of lieutenant. Her joints are growing stiff and her movements becoming slower, somehow turning her mood even fouler, and despite her reputation it won't be long until she's set out to fend for herself. She likely knows this, adding further salt to the festering wound that is her attitude. She hates kits, despises adolescent cats, and has no patience of incompentent adult cats, and is frequently seen telling them off or insulting them, usually with disgust but occasionally with some flavor of satisfaction. As previously mentioned, she has no patience of incompetence or immaturity. She believes in disclipline, a hard work ethic, and a seriousness towards one's rank, and a greater respect for those above their own.
BACKSTORY
It is not known whether Paleface was born into the Sturdy Claws or if she was 'acquired' by them later on in life. She speaks little of her mother, and only with raw resentment and disdain, understandable given that she was entirely neglected as a kit and disowned from day one. Many of her peers followed suit, insulting her, namecalling her, or otherwise plain shunning her and pretending she was a ghost at the best or a cockroach at the worst. She took these attempts at injury and turned them into a strength, shielding away most emotion and, finally, in her older years, can boss anyone around, insulting them meanwhile, without any form of repercussions. Justice served bitter sweet.

MONARCH
BASIC INFORMATION
- Name - Monarch
- Body Type - She-cat
- Age - 14 moons (1.1 years, or approx. 16 cat years)
- Allegiance - Loner
- Territory - Monarch Meadows
- Beliefs - Ghosts
- Gender Identity - Cisgender
- Pronouns - She/her
- Preferences - Lesbian (she-cats)
- Kin - Amber (mother) Cedar (father, deceased) Fox (sister, she-kit; deceased) Dust (brother, tom-kit; deceased)
- Mate // Kits - None
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- Summary - Modestly plump, muted copper and russet brown she-cat with faded ginger chest and belly fur, white fur streaking her muzzle and the bridge of her nose, and frosty blue eyes.
- Full Description - Monarch is a smaller than average she-cat with a mostly lithe body frame, but she has maintained some amount of plumpness in her midsection and, perhaps more notably, her rump. A soft shade of muted copper makes up the majority of her pelt, which is both relatively short and as soft as a kitten's. It is eventually challenged at her underbelly and chest, replaced instead with a faint coating of ginger that seamlessly blends with the surrounding darker fur. Elsewhere, dark russet fur wraps over the top of her head (leaning to her left), painting the outside of both of her ears, and extending well below her left eye. It clashes in the middle with a blend of snow-white fur running down the bridge of her nose and surrounding her muzzle and chin.
Monarch is a very pretty she-cat, with glistening frosty blue eyes, a pleasing face, relatively large triangular ears, long legs with dainty paws, and a long tail that trails behind her. A series of narrow scars are scored below and above her right eye, a feature she tries her best to shield away from others. She has a very sweet, almost maple-smelling aroma to her.
PERSONALITY & MENTAL TRAITS
- Summary - A good-natured and sugary sweet but easily intimidated or frightened young molly. She never skips a beat to bring a light mood to a dark and dreary day, or to inspire confidence or hope within others.
- Full Description - Monarch is a very down-to-earth, optimistic, and internally beautiful she-cat who effortlessly gets along with just about anyone. Whenever a cat wants cheering up, she's got their back. If a situation seems hopeless, she's helping lift other cats up. There's a lot of wisdom and insight to her, even if it's not always obvious and she (always) fails to see it. She'll be the calm during the storm, provided the storm doesn't spook her. She's naturally very faint-hearted, proving to be quite easily intimidated by unfriendly surroundings and large or battle-hardened felines. She would absolutely be the first to flee up the nearest tree should a fox show itself.
Although she is loving to all of those she deems worthy of it, this she-cat can carry quite the grudge if a cat does her or cats she cares for wrong. Although she easily forgives, she draws the line somewhere, especially at physical harm or emotional malice. Monarch is a very good judge of character, able to see under layers that many cats would prefer to disguise any true feelings or intentions.
BACKSTORY
The copper-colored molly was born under a large tree sheltering countless Monarch butterflies, a sight so mesmerizing it was the inspiration behind her own name. The name of the land was rather fitting, as well, taking root as a resting point for the yearly migration of the delicate, beautiful creatures. Monarch was meant to have two siblings, a tom-kit and a she-kit, but unfortunately they were stillborn. Her parents, Cedar and Amber, named them Fox and Dust out of respect and in remembrance.
The three enjoyed a rather uneventful but fruitful life in the meadows near to the base of the mountains. Monarch remained steadfast attached to her mother, and while she found herself nervous around her father for the first few moons due to his deep, intimidating voice, and his strict etiquitte, she would come to respect and admire him as the two bonded through hunting and tree-climbing. Her parents occasionally came into conflict over the "proper way" to raise their kit, moments that sent Monarch cowering under some tall grass, but they never resulted in screaming matches.
Some moons later, a regular training session turned immediately South as the creaking of an unhealthy tree suddenly gave way, with Cedar firmly gripped to its branches. He dodged the trunk, but the resulting fall abruptly killed him. She and her mother were grief-stricken beyond words, and Amber was angry at her now deceased mate most of all for taking such a stupid risk. She initially put a ban on her daughter on climbing trees, but she eventually came to grips that she couldn't monitor her forever, and had to hope she had more sense than her father. She still enforces the evening curfew however.
That was close to a year ago, and although happy, neither can say they have fully recovered. The wound still feels fresh and raw, although now hidden below a thin layer of fur. Monarch has dedicated the rest of her training to Cedar, and visits his grave regularly.

Well that would depend on if we want to do a bit of roleplay before the disaster or not? If it's the former, we could get a few days roleplay worth before the cataclysm. A terrible storm will extinguish the flames but not after the damage is done, and the Twolegs have already fled the scene. They may return at some future point, but not for a many a moon.
So during early Summer makes sense, it also ties in quite well with the kits' ages!
Awesome! Oh, good point! I'd imagine they get some snow some years (especially further inland), others very little snowfall at all, and it might not last long on the ground. I'd imagine Summertime to be fairly cool but humid.
Edit: I've already thought of the eventual name of the tom-kit lol. Pepper.

Another thing we could maybe add? If we're going for the little ragtag group of survivors, maybe the fire at the twoleg place spread to some of the forest, making survival quite a bit harder? Say, maybe only parts of the forest are still lush and alive, while a decent majority is burnt up.
It could regrow over time. But if kittypets got stranded, with no idea of how to take care of themselves, along with them being stuck in a partially burnt up forest? That'd be a bit interesting I think!

That sounds good! Perhaps the Lighthouse could be located further Southeast down a peninsula-like stretch, and that is also the location of some of the rogues and the spirits. Our kittypet characters are surely going to be in for a while ride once they learn that the coastline is supposedly "haunted"! Competition is also going to be quite fierce, leading to some cats being forced to scavenge the charred remains of the once lush woodland (while other rogues claim the still inhabitable parts), or they'd have to brave the "dangerous" and "haunted" shoreline. I'm thinking that the coast gets foggy pretty often. Do you imagine any of the spirits making themselves known, calling out to wandering cats to prevent them from falling off the cliffsides? Just a spitball.

Oh for sure! It's gonna be very interesting having a bunch if experienced, but desperate rogues, loners, and new found kittypets grouped together trying to survive in the same territory. There's bound to be quite some conflict there! And definitely a very haunted shoreline. I was curious about how spirits might work in this world? Do they stick around for specific reasons, and couldn't pass to the full after life? And are they bound to certain areas? Like near where they died and such?
And I love that! I can imagine my own little shoreline/ocean spirit calling out to make sure no one has a similar experience to herself. For sure gonna do that!
And another thing! Lolo. Just for future reference, we'll probably build up some relations with other cats. Like those who've heard of each other, or met once or twice. Is there any future planning with that anyone wants to do? Like cat's who might be good friends and such?

Oh definitely, and some are going to find it easier to get along with others than some others might. I'd imagine at least two "factions" will end up forming eventually. A gang of rogues, and a "proto-Clan", although the latter doesn't necessarily have the "Clan" description tied to their fate. More like a band of refugees, each assigned their own different roles to survive. A leader will have to rise amongst them eventually. Any ideas? None of my cats would fit the bill. I'd imagine it's a case-by-case basis, although how I am not sure. It would be interesting if some of the cats could roam throughout the world forgot that they even died at all. Hmm, perhaps if a ghost found peace, it would be their own-internalized choice whether to move on or not? Like, imagine a ghost who became attached to living cats, they might stick around for longer, if not indefinitely. Like, the ghosts are unable to move on, but if all the boxes are ticked, they're given the choice of what to do with their existence? Idk, just spitballing here. Awesome! Well let's see, let's start with Misty. She's an incredible elusive one, some even think she's a spirit herself! Many cats know of her, but for now no-one knows her quite so personally. Most don't even know her name, let alone her former kittypet name. Oh, I have a perfect idea for her! She would have lived near the shanty town by the shore, but like the others was forced to flee during the events of the fire and the ensuing rainstorm. What if she keeps her distance from the main group for a while, but will occasionally briefly stop by to drop gifts, like a herb the cats need, or some extra fresh-kill if they're hungry, and then vanishes off into the trees again? She never gets too close to anyone either, always maintaining her distance, and is very skittish. Some cat will need to be able to develop a connection with her, likely a nonverbal one, and it will requite a great deal of patience. Misty isn't mute, but she seldom speaks out loud, or at least for now. Really though, aside from Paleface perhaps, all the other cats lived too far away from each other with different types of lives to have heard of each other. Light, any thoughts?

Oh! Good point! It'd be good to get some good pre-danger roleplay setting in. ^^ Oh boy. This'll be fun. ~does a little jig~ And Yass! Bring on the troubles! Pepper is adorable! <3 Ooh, maybe I should add a spirit cat too. :3 There may be spirit cats who aren't so helpful as well. I'm most certainly up for character planning. ^^ But first I gotta develop some characters.

Yeah, I'd be good with that. ^^ Then we can roleplay more first impressions. Though some characters may have a vague knowledge of those who have a large presence in their area of town.
Also loving how Misty is turning out. <3
