It’s been many moons since Ivypool lost her daughter, Bristlefrost, to the Dark Forest, yet Ivypool can’t bear to move on. Even being named Deputy of ThunderClan feels meaningless in her grief.
When Whistlepaw has a disturbing vision—one that could spell disaster for all the Clans—a group of cats is selected to go on a quest to investigate. Ivypool is happy to join their mission. The cats set out on an arduous journey, facing everything from painful hunger to bloodthirsty dogs. But nothing can prepare them for what they find: a disgusting twoleg den that’s caging a series of strange animals, including two who may have surprising ties to the Clans.
In order to complete their quest and right a terrible wrong that goes back generations, the five Clan cats must help these creatures find their true home. But first, Ivypool must let go of the past, and her grief, if she is to have any hope of ensuring a future for the Clans—and for herself.

They finally get to see the big cats of the mythical clans. If this doesn't happen I will riot since it's such a creative idea. |

This seems like it might be a dark one. More Whistlepaw relevance? Yes please! I think she may end up being one of the five cats, if not her, then hopefully Harestar or one of the BreezeHeather kits. I wonder if the two said animals could be Sol, Sleekwhisker, Rock, or Midnight (although I doubt the latter two). I don’t want to get my hopes to high, but I hope the bloodthirsty dogs are rapid dogs, I think it could be a neat set up for a potential arc 9, but it’s more likely because someone dies (better not be my precious Whistlepaw). I wonder what kind of animals we’ll be seeing, maybe whoever said there should be a monkey in the series would enjoy this. Honestly I’m glad this kinda confirms Bristlefrost won’t be returning, but if she does end up coming back, even being one of the two animals in that building even if it’s not possible in anyway, say sike right now Erins (honestly this is kinda reminding me of Stranger Things if that’s the case.) |

I can see Rootspring being on the journey A circus sounds really fun, honestly it would make sense since some circuses are known to mistreat their animals, so having cats saving bigger cats would be fun to read, I wonder if this means this is a potential Bravelands/Bamboo Kingdom crossover, at least lore wise, that would be so cool! |

This sounds very interesting, I wish I didn't have to wait all the way until September 2024 to read it though...
I hope that since Whistlepaw had the vision, and she's a WindClan cat, Harestar will be one of the cats chosen to go on the quest, which will set him up for being the protagonist of the SE 18! |

Interesting! A circus sounds cool, and I immediatly thought about Midnight even though she's probably not going to appear ever again. Hoping that Whistlepaw getting the vision means Harestar will come along! |

Most of the recent journey SEs have been great. (GV and HJ especially. So I imagine IH will likely be interesting.)
I do hope the other cats not chosen are those who haven’t had any screentime. (We’ve seen cats like Rootspring, Needleclaw, and others already. Newer cats need screentime.)
The bright side of it being a journey bag is I won’t have to deal with Squirrelstar’s dumb bushy tail for very long. |

WindClan relevancy? I'm surprised. I wonder if Bristle's and her siblings' WindClan ancestry will be brought up. Likely not though.
Poor Ivypool. I don't have kids but outliving your child is probably the most difficult thing to happen to a parent. Especially when Bristle was wiped from existence at that. This reminds me of Dustpelt's line in Bramblestar's Storm where he refuses to retire and wants to keep busy in order to keep his mind off of Ferncloud.
My first thought is that they encounter a circus or something and they discover an actual lion, tiger, and/or leopard there. But I'm wondering if somehow they encounter Midnight? She could fit for having "surprising ties" to the Clans. Though the editors likely just forgot about her at this point.
Is this implying the Clans had something to do with this terrible thing? Anyway though, it looks like they're taking a page out of TNP and having one representative from each Clan go on this journey. |

Sorry idk how to do the spoiler tag but I wonder if the creatures are the beavers from The Fourth Apprentice? If I recall correctly, the beavers were being monitored by two-legs? Despite the lake drying up and cats dying(RiverClan was heavily affected), the Clan patrol still wronged the beavers by destroying their home. Also LOVING that our dear Whistlepaw is getting more attention. WindClan deserves it.
May I add Whistlepaw’s grandmother, Sedgewhisker, was apart of the cats that defeated the beavers, and Ivypool’s own sister, Dovewing👀

This sounds so interesting, I'm beyond excited for it <3 Thanks for sharing as always, Leonard ! It does seem to have a darker vibe though, which I'm all for as well!
Since it'll be dealing with Ivypool's grief over loosing Bristlefrost, a disturbing vision by Whistlepaw (good for her on getting some more spotlight, although that was already clear since she's on the cover for Wind as well, after all), a hard journey while facing hunger and dogs and finally something that sounds very much like a circus regarding the term "strange animals".
As for the two animals that might've ties to the Clans, my first thought was maybe a pair of lions, tigers, leopards or cheetas. Although I doubt that would end well for anyone involved. Second thought was Midnight but I have no idea about the second animal with ties to them. My final idea is Sol since he was compared to sort of look like a lion by Hollyleaf in PoT, even though she's never seen an actual one so I highly doubt a twoleg would ever confuse him with a (small) one.
The fact that this SE takes place at the same time as the ASC finale makes it even better!
As for who I personally want to see go on the mission with Ivypool: I hope Harestar somehow will or at least Breezepelt and maybe Dovewing. The two toms both trained in the DF with her while the latter would just be fun to see more of in terms of their strained dynamic as sisters.
I do think someone will die though, either on the quest or at the circus... |

ooohh this sounds cool. I'm very interested to see what the "strange animals" are and how the clan cats interact with them. Very excited for Ivypool's POV again, too. I doubt it will happen, but I hope Dovewing is among the group of quest cats and that we get positive Dove&Ivy moments. |

I've seen people suggest that the strange animals are parrots because they are described as "strange" and can ideally talk. No clue what they have to do with cat history of the wrong that was done to them... really hope Ivypool can put in work here! |

Another possibility for the Twoleg den could be an unlicensed exotic/protected pet trade operation. This could include any number of creatures, some strange and some familiar to the Clans. I could definitely see Midnight returning as one of the two animals with Clan ties, since she could potentially translate for the other “strange” creatures the cats might not otherwise understand.
The “terrible wrong” that must be righted seems interesting. One that comes to mind, especially if Midnight is involved, could be when the Clans drove the badgers away from the lake. This wasn’t really framed as an intentional wrong in TNP, but maybe from the badger’s perspective. After all, they’d been living there for generations— as long as the Clans lived in the Forest territories.
It makes me think of the scene in Twilight where Squirrelflight sympathizes with the badger queen and her kits, when ThunderClan’s patrol has to drive her away from her den. Squilf even hopes the family finds a new home somewhere safe and far away. Perhaps the Clan cats will help lead the badgers to their “true home,” maybe one that predated the Lake? |

I thought she still could take the form of a physical badger. I don’t remember the lore surrounding her super well. Now that I think about it, she could just be involved and helping the creatures and Clan cats, and not herself one of the caged animals. That probably makes a lot more sense for her as a spirit |
