warriorcats.com/content/article/new-in-store-minis-series-6-and-special-edition-the-prophecies-begin-setsThe minis already got teased and announced on Instagram (as well as shared on different threads on here) but the official website also still wrote an article on them with one interesting detail: I also got a notification email about the launch yesterday including the same tidbit about the redesigned TPB minis. Honestly, while I do agree that these characters are nostalgic and rightfully popular, I think it still would've been better to just restock the packs including their first versions. So Firestar & Leafstar, Graystripe & Jayfeather, Brightheart & Cinderpelt, Ravenpaw & Sandstorm, Scourge & Squirrelflight, Yellowfang & Ivypool. And include some more other iconic albeit less popular characters from TPB instead that haven't been made yet, such as Silverstream, Onewhisker, Whitestorm, Goldenflower, Mistyfoot or Stonefur and Brokenstar or Nightpelt for example. Although I do get this was a way for them to still celebrate the 20th Anniversary and "introduce new readers" as they put it even though the inclusion of Scourge would kinda spoil the final TPB book for them if they wanted to go spoiler free into a 20 year old series about battle cats. Anyhow, here are the pics from the article showcasing both sets (Series 6 and the TPB one): Series 6 (Lionblaze & Hollyleaf, Tallstar & Leopardstar, Shadowsight & Dovewing) TPB (Rusty/Firestar & Scourge, Ravenpaw & Graystripe, Brightheart & Yellowfang) My favorite pack from the new Series 6 is definitely Lionblaze & Hollyleaf <3 As for the TPB one, I've already got these characters and personally just don't really see the need to pay another 30 bucks for some small design changes and so called special TPB packaging.

I don’t know if I’d call Goldenflower or Nightpelt “iconic”? They’re interesting but far from the first characters fans think of when talking about TPB (the exception being the rare superfan of those specific characters).
Anyways, unpopular opinion but I kind of like the repackaging of TPB minis. Previous releases paired them with newer characters from other arcs, and imo it makes more sense to pair minis from the same arcs together. Selling Firestar and Scourge together, arguably the two most iconic and well known cats from the series, is smarter than pairing them off with *checks notes* Leafstar and Squirrelflight, which is kinda random.

Also the Lionblaze mini might be one of my favorite releases yet.. He just looks so pleasant and his design is nice and simple as well! I can't explain it he's just a good mini design

Firestar prepared Leafstar for leadership and guided her to the roots of her ancestors. It would be more random if Firestar was paired with someone like Hawkwing or a random warrior from a different Clan. Squirrelflight and Scourge are a bit more strange but both have the white paw connection, linking the two together. (Plus serves as an added reminder as Squirrelflight’s white paw tends to disappear depending on the arc.) |

They are still better known TPB characters though. Nightpelt even has a GN. And I did say that they are less popular than the ones picked out. But my point was moreso about the rehash of already existing minis anyway. Although I do completely get that making a series of six minis only including well known TPB characters, even though they already had minis of themselves in previous series entries, is indeed a good way to interest new readers in buying figurines of those iconic first arc characters. As for some of them previously having been paired up with so called random choices, as Katanaheart already said: Firestar knew and helped Leafstar during his SE when it came to her becoming leader and the dawn of modern SkyClan. So putting those two together is really not that random. As for Squirrelflight and Scourge, Katanaheart also said it already, but these two not only both have one white front paw, since they are also (half)uncle and (half)niece, even though they don't know in-universe but the fandom sure does. A more random choice to name was putting Yellowfang with Ivypool or even Graystripe with Jayfeather. Since these two pairs have nothing to do with each other outside of being ThunderClan cats. Yellowfang and Ivypool also never interacted with each other while Graystripe and Jayfeather did at least a few times, I reckon. But those four are still better examples in terms of being more randomly paired up, in my opinion. The better choice would've been to switch them up so Yellowfang was either with Jayfeather or better yet Graystripe in the first place while thus putting Ivypool with Jayfeather since those two pairs thus at least interacted a bit more with each other as characters and Clanmates. Although I do very much agree that putting Firestar/Rusty and Scourge in a pack together now instead is such a smart move for sure. They are indeed both easily recognizable and just utterly iconic TPB characters, after all. |

I can't explain it he's just a good mini design Same, I'm just so happy he's finally starting to have some merch <3 Really hoping he'll get a plush sooner rather than later as well so that I can thus finish up my OG Three collection of Lionblaze and his littermates when it comes to minis and plushies! I'm sure he'd be extra fluffy and soft as a plush too, especially with his neck fluff... |

I get what y'all are saying about Firestar/Leafstar and Scourge/Squirrelflight, but those are rather tenuous connections that still have the affect of feeling random to me - especially when there are other characters that would make way more sense to pair each of them with. Like why pair Squilf with her evil half-uncle she never knew just because they share a white paw, when they could have paired her with her sister, mate, kits, mother, etc.
I agree that there are other pairings that are random; I only picked Firestar/Scourge because I was pointing out that they're two of the most popularly iconic characters, so it especially makes sense to pair them together compared to their previous packages.

My favorite is definitely Lionblaze and Hollyleaf, but I like Shadowsight too. Also interesting that they put Hollyleaf in the same pose as Ashfur. Same, I love how Lionblaze and Shadowsight turned out. And yeah, Darkstripe also has that menacing one paw up pose as Ashfur and now Hollyleaf. Kinda suits her in a way though, or at least her version at the end of PoT. |
