TBH I was inspired while reading the injury strings in the Clangen source code... Specifically the permanent conditions that can result from certain injuries. The one that caught my eye was the torn ear resulting in partial hearing loss. I'm not sure if we need to go that extreme right off the bat, but it's what initially prompted this concept.

Okay so I'm gonna go ahead and have Shatter encounter a fox shortly after finding moss. She'll try to outmanouver it but it'll end up damaging her ear and it'll need the attention of a medicine cat. From then we'll decide if it ends with hearing loss in the long term.

From then we'll decide if it ends with hearing loss in the long term. Perhaps it could have been chasing Heatherstorm? |

Seeing as one is already attacking Heather, Shatter could easily be its next target. Also the scent instead of sound thing was a goof on my part, but I guess you could take it as foreshadowing what could happen to Shatter if she suffers hearing loss in that ear? |

I just had Ptarmiganflight yell for Shatterpaw to get help, so maybe Shatterpaw could hear and decide to help them fight the fox instead of going for help? |
