Borrowed from Purdyisbestboi post on best SE in different ascpects. This is basically the same thing but with the arcs. Best in plot: DOTC. Seeing how the clans came to be is just so interesting to me. (Though the TPB is a close second.) Best in character development: TPB. Firestar is just great in this department. Going from a total noob to learning about what it means to be a warrior and finally leader. Best in villains: DOTC. Controversal opinion but I love Clear Sky. The fact that he has a POV makes it even better for me. Best in pacing: POT. The fact that there wasn't an overarching storyline made the pacing better for me. TPB is great but books 4 and 5 just don't hold my attention. Funniest: POT. Jayfeather is just really great in this arc. Best main character: POT. Jayfeather is my favorite cat in the series period. I just love this grumpy boy. I also love how developed all three of the siblings were. Best ending: DOTC. Gray Wing's death always hits me hard. Best overall: For me it's DOTC. The main characters are great the pacing is pretty good. The conflict itself is also just so great as they're fighting among themselves rather than some outside threat. Every time I read Gray Wing's death I close the book really hard and take a deep breath.

Best plot: POT. I cannot really explain why, I just think the whole Leafpool stuff was really cool to read about, especially when Jayfeather was searching for what herbs Leafpool gave Mousefur Best character Development:literally no idea. I'll have to think about it Best villains: DOTC, most definitely. But only One Eye and Clear Sky. Slash was boring af Best pacing:I have been loving how ASC handles it Funniest: ASC. Sunbeam and Nightheart chapters are so fun. One of my favorite/funniest parts is when Nightheart is catching frogs Best main character: ASC. I adore all of the characters so much. They're unique in their own ways with different struggles (feel like different struggles but they all have problems w their moms) Best ending: DOTC. Gray Wing's death was a great way to end it. I didn't find many other aspects of it that intresting, but his death made me shed a few tears. It was very impactful imo Overall: AVOS. I love every aspect of AVOS and I hate how I can't say anything good about it. I just really enjoyed the way it was written, that's really all. But ASC and POT really closely follow it, I just think they're neat

Best in plot: TBC.
Best in character development: TPB, seeing Firestar go from a kittypet to a leader.
Best in villains: TBC.
Best in pacing: ASC. It's had great pacing so far, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite arcs.
Funniest: POT.
Best main character: ASC or TBC. I love Bristlefrost, Rootspring, and Shadowsight, and I adore ASC's protags.
Best ending: DotC. I don't like Gray Wing very much but it was a great way to end the arc.
Best overall: TBC! I love all of the protags and it has a great plot. Bristlefrost's death was super impactful too.

Best in plot: TPB. No question.
Best in character development: POT. Seeing Jay, Holly, and Lion go from excitable kits to cats with great destinies and seeing how their lives unfurl is really satisfying. Jayfeather goes from a snarky know-it-all apprentice to someone with a bright future, Lionblaze goes from I'm better than everyone -- I'm afraid I'm going to kill everybody -- I want to bring glory, and Hollyleaf... well, F to Hollyleaf is all I can say, but to see how what she believed in ended up being her undoing was fantastic.
Best in villains: TPB. You can't beat Tigerstar no matter how hard you try.
Funniest: POT. Jaypaw is hilarious
Best main character: TPB or TNP. Firestar is great in character development, but TNP had a wide variety of protags in each book so if you don't like one, you can like another.
Best ending: OOTS. It closed the book on the series, starting with Firestar's arrival to Firestar's death.
Best overall: TPB

Best in plot: TBC. But TPB is a close second. And ASC is shaping up to be great too.
Best in character development: TPB. Nothing can beat Firestar's rise from outsider to leader for me.
Best in villains: TPB, Tigerstar I is just such a classic and Scourge was awesome.
Best in pacing: PoT, it only spans like one year, I'm pretty sure, but did it so well.
Funniest: PoT, the cast of characters, main and background ones, was just fantastic.
Best main character: TPB. I have Firestar bias, sue me.
Best ending: TPB. It could've truly just ended there and things would've been good imo.
Best overall: TPB. At least according to how much I named it on here lol.
My favorite arc is still TNP, even though I know how flawed it is. Funny how it's not on here once. I like DotC as well but the villains just give me a headache. One Eye was great but got yeeted after just one book for some reason, Skystar got redeemed but it did not last long or was satisfying and Slash is just useless and was honestly pathetic in comparison. OotS had good ideas but was all over the place for the most part, loved the DF cast though. And we don't talk about AVoS (let's just say killing off Darktail in book three was a huge mistake)...

Best in plot: TPB. Every book (except for 80% of Rising Storm) sets up the next. Great, and is one of the only arcs to garner six whole books.
Best in character development: POT. I like the slice of life element and seeing the cats grow up. While books 1-3 don't have a villain, it's fine. Seeing how a character acts in day-to-day life tells a lot more about them than what they do in high-stress scenarios. Each of the first 3 books also compliments each character very well. Book 1 shows Jaypaw overcome insecurities about hi disability, and the ableism of his Clanmates. Book 2 explores Lionpaw, his relationship with Tigerstar, his ambitions, and of course, his mischief. Book 3 takes Hollypaw, a cat already established to be traditional in her interpretation of the rules and culture of the Clans, and puts her into a completely different setting with different customs. It's genius. Books 4-6 take these heavily established characters and THEN puts them into intense situations, which makes readers more invested in what is happening and how characters would react. And Sol is the perfect antithesis of all three cats. He claims to have spiritual knowledge and uses this to manipulate Jayfeather. He uses words instead of claws, which he uses to manipulate Lionblaze. And his questioning of the warrior code is used to manipulate Hollyleaf. Chef's kiss.
Best in villains: OotS. It takes the amazing villains from arcs previous and enhances them to be big threats. This arc also introduces us to Mapleshade, Snowtuft, Evil!Thistleclaw, and so many more villains.
Best in pacing: TNP-- no, listen. Book 1 shows the cats going on a mysterious journey. Why? Nobody knows until the end. The cats had to find Midnight, who told them that they must leave the Forest and journey to the Lake, because twolegs are destroying their territory. In Leafpaw's POV, the Clans seem fine, adding to the mystery. But her last POV chapter, the epilogue, taking place AFTER the reveal, show that Midnight is correct. Book 2 shows the journeying cats rushing home, and meeting the Tribe. While this is happening, we get to see the Forest slowly die. A lot of people say that Book 2 should be merged with Books 1 or 3, but I believe that separating them is good to be able to show the scope of terror that is habitat destruction. Book 3 solidifies this, having the Clans go through the five stages of grief before ultimately leaving. Although the arc could have ended at Book 3, the second half is also very good. It shows the Clans adjusting to their new home, and shows everything that is important to them-- borders and rules for them, a place to talk to StarClan, a place to meet, and suitable territories. We also get to see repercussions of recolonising land. Territorial kittypets, kittypets eager to join for safety, and the wild animals having to be driven out. I love it.
Funniest: POT. The slice of life elements of the books result in some of the best lines/moments of the series... such as: "Berrystumpytail", "if you want sympathy, go to the nursery", "I'm too good for honey", "I'm glad Crowfeather isn't my dad", etc.
Best main character: POT for Jayfeather. TNP for Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, and Leafpool being a power trio.
Best ending: DOTC with the formation of the Clans, and TBC for the long overdue reworking of the warrior code.
Best overall: POT, DOTC, and TPB.

Best in plot: TBC.
Best in character development: TPB, though PoT is pretty close behind.
Best in villains: TBC. Originally I would have said Tigerstar, but Ashfur took first place with TBC.
Best in pacing: TPB.
Funniest: PoT, mostly because of Jayfeather.
Best main character: TPB
Best ending: TPB
Best overall: TPB

Best in plot: Dawn of The Clans (mainly talking about the first half here) or The Broken Code.

Best in villains: The Broken Code (Ashfur).
Best in pacing: Original arc, I guess.
Funniest: Power of Three.
Best main character: POT, Jayfeather is my favorite main.
Best ending: Dawn of the Clans.
Best overall: Dawn of the Clans.

Best in plot: ASC so far
Best in character development: PoT
Best in villains: TPB
Best in pacing: ASC has been decent so far, but honestly I don’t think any of the arcs are great at this. There are always 1-2 books that are boring to me.
Funniest: PoT
Best main character: By averaging how much I like all of the main characters together, TBC. For individual main characters, I love Dovewing and really like Sunbeam so far, so OotS or ASC. I would say Squirrelflight, but I like her better after TNP so I’m choosing to not count her for this.
Best ending: OotS, it just felt the most final even though improvements definitely could’ve been made to the battle.
Best overall: PoT, but ASC is actually a pretty close second so far.
