What would you consider the overall tone of the story to be? How are the characters? Are the plots interesting? I know how Philip's writing is and Best as well. I do like Rosie Best's writing quite a bit from what she wrote in Survivors. Does the story get better with each arc? Is this series worth a read?

Sure! I think it's great. Compared to other Erin Hunter series I feel Bravelands is much higher on the fantasy elements, which I don't mind, but some might. They do some cool stuff with that, too, particularly starting with the second arc.
The first arc has the typical problem of the new Erin Hunter team, where the first three books great and the second half is just trying to get something done. Thankfully, starting with the second arc they switched to arcs having only three books and that worked well for keeping the consistent quality and the storyline tight.
What's fun is that each arc has three different animal species as PoVs and they try to make each animal culture distinct, some are pretty imaginative and changing them each arc helps keep things fresh so that's fun to read.
So far I've enjoyed each arc more than the previous one, so I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Thunder on the Plains. The main character cast is my favourite of all the Bravelands PoVs we got so far and one of them is a contender for my favourite Erin Hunter character. Other arcs' casts aren't as well balanced arcs one and two each have a character that's much worse than the other two.
Overall, I've really enjoyed Bravelands. The current arc is probably going to be the final one, which is unfortunate as I've grown to like it more than most of the other Erin Hunter series, but that's how the things go.

It mostly depends on the arc, here's what I think for each one, with little to no spoilers (warning, my opinions might be biased since the memory's fuzzy):
Arc 1: - The first 3 books were great! Pacing was pretty good and stakes were high, I really loved the first half of the arc. Unfortunately though, this arc has suffered the problematic second half, pacing felt off, multiple subplots taking place at once, kinda forgettable especially book 4 and 5, and the build up for the climax did not feel very smooth IMO.
- The POVs were pretty good, but it was kinda hard for me to connect with them in the latter half of the arc. Their stories in the first half were great and they connect well, and liked these three as a trio of friends. For the latter half, it's basically one dealing with romantic relationship issues, another with leadership issues, and the third with both. There are a few good moments too but compared to the first 3 books, those are superior.
- The villain for the first half of the arc is probably the best one out of all the Erin Hunter series IMO, they really thought everything through and is an absolute mastermind. I was disappointed it was wrapped up on the third book and they just brought in another villain introduced in the beginning of the series and it kind of felt like an after thought instead of being planned beforehand. This said villain did lead a group which I wished was explored more but doesn't seem like it.
Arc 2: - This arc only has 3 books, but I think they made the right choice here. The overall plot was paced pretty well, there was a lot going on and they managed to wrap it all up on the 3rd book although some subplots feel slightly rushed and there was a minor plot hole that the reader will have to conclude themselves.
- The POVs were great at most, decent at least, Prance being easily the best one this arc, while Chase comes in second and Bramble in last. My issue with Bramble is that he feels more like a side character than a protagonist. In the first book, they did a good job with him such as his personality and his relationship with his family, but for the next two books, especially the 3rd book, his half sister seems to have more of a major role than Bramble, he just seems to be the camera for her until the second half of the book then his character arc comes to an end.
- The villain was an interesting one, it was a hive mind sorta thing which makes this arc stand out. The cult thing in the first book was really freaky I actually enjoyed it. The way the main plot was concluded seemed pretty fitting
Arc 3: - There is only one book in this arc so far, the next two coming next year. The first book IMO is the best in the series. They definitely made the right choice having a soft reboot here, where the events of the previous arc was only mentioned twice as well as a new set of characters without having the old around. You can even start with this arc if you wanted to since the story stands on its own despite taking place after the previous arcs.
- The POVs were pretty solid for the first book, they all have their own thing going on, my only issue was that the blurb was sort of misleading where they mentioned a character dealing with his own thing but the POV was actually of his sister, but so far it's better than what happened with Bramble since she still has her thing going on.
- So far, there doesn't seem to be a main villain but the conflict so far has vague similarities to A Starless Clan, but it still stands on its own for uniqueness. Based on the blurb of book 2, seems like we may have one as an animal instinct and/or a character.
Overall series/Optional TLDR: This series is probably a bit darker compared to Warriors, especially how graphic some scenes are. The lore is honestly one of the best out of the EH series, each species of animals have their own culture, traditions, etc. which we get to see every arc with different species through POVs. Also, the writers of these books are not afraid to kill off characters, which is pretty great IMO so there can be stakes. I would definitely recommend this series, even if the latter half of arc 1 isn't the best, the series is worth reading. Also forgot to mentioned, although mentioned once, there is a confirmed LGBTQ+ couple and I am happy.

I only read one book, Thunder on the Plains, I enjoyed it. big spoiler below for Thunder on the Plains I cried during Flicker's death, it got me on the first book. Warriors hasn't done that to me...kinda of.
