Chapter one-
A great morning dawn as night, as the peacefulness of Riverclan begins to break under the chatter of cats awakening. "Jaykit! Jaykit wake up!"
The soft voice of Twigkit makes Jaykit open their eyes."What?" They growl rudely, annoyed to be torn away from the most delightful dream of them becoming deputy as a warrior. "Me and Bushkit are going to sneak out to see the river, are you coming?" Twigkit, Jaykit's sister replied. "I don't know, it's dangerous!" Jaykit replied. "Your no fun, yknow that Jaykit?"
"I'd rather be boring than dead at the bottom of a river." sniffed Jaykit. "Come on, we'll be very careful." Pleaded Twigkit. "Well," Jaykit paused in consideration. "Alright, I suppose we can view for a few heartbeats."
"Perfect! Bushkit's already waiting for us at the entrance." Twigkit excitedly bounced away. Jaykit took a final glance toward Dawnfoot. "I'll be very careful." They vowed, before turning to follow Twigkit.

Jaykit stepped out to find themself beside Bushkit and Twigkit, peering over the edge and from the dock. "Don't fall in!" They warned their siblings cautiously. "Relax, we are Riverclan kits for Starclan's sake! We swim like fish." Bushkit mewed. Bushkit, is Jaykit's younger brother, with a golden-brown pelt. They hadn't really noticed, since their vision had always been a bit blurry, but it had cleared up now, and Jaykit could see finely. "We may have swimming blood, sure, but we still don't know how to swim!" Snapped Jaykit defiantly. Their pelt bristled as they saw Twigkit lay down to push their paw over the edge and touch the water. "It's freezing!" She squeaked. "Well, It's leaf-bare." Mewed Jaykit pointedly. "Obviously."
Twigkit's unappreciative made Jaykit roll their eyes. They seemed to have to do that a lot. "Bushkit, you're getting to close to the edge--"
"Be quiet already, Jaykit! You're always telling us what to do, and warning us about--" Suddenly, Jaykit's eyes sharpened, and a heartbeat later, Bushkit was in the water. "Help!" The kit screamed as loud as they could. "Bushkit! I'm coming!" Screeched Twigkit. "Are you mouse-brained? You'll drown too!"
"What do we do then? We can't let them die!" Wailed Twigkit in response. Jaykit shook their head. "They'll die before we can get help..." They murmured. They felt bad to say it, but they knew they were right, there was nothing to be done. Suddenly, Bushkit was swimming around easily. "Huh?" Gasped Jaykit, peering over to get a closer look. "I can breathe! I can breathe in the water! I don't drown! Look at me!" Bushkit screamed loudly and happily, diving under. It had been quite a long time before Bushkit reappeared. "How are you doing that?! You're not a fish, are you?!"
"A fish? I don't think so. But this is great! I didn't know we could breathe in the water!"
"We can't!" Yelled Twigkit. "Guess I'm just special." Answered Bushkit happily. Suddenly, everyone's head turned at the sound of a loud cry. "Twigkit! Jaykit! What do you think you're doing? Where's your brother?" Oh no! Not Dustymew! Thought Jaykit miserably. "Bushkit- Great Starclan, what are you doing in there?!" Hollered Dustymew. "He can breathe in the water!" Replied Twigkit. Dustymew's eyes widened, and Jaykit noticed them flash with what appeared to be certainty. "You get out of the water, then you can all follow me."

"Quickly, all of you, come with me before the rest of the patrol arrives - Stay here, I'll be right back." Quickly, Dustymew jumped into the water, curious Jaykit had to ask: "What are you doing?"
"Trying to make sure everyone thinks that I saved you from drowning." He growled in response. Suddenly, the rest of Dustymew's patrol arrived. "What's happened here?" Asked Littlenose, looking at his three kits. "Littlenose, your litter here took a trip to the lake." Dustymew responded, using his tail to push the litter forward. "Oh, you three are in so much trouble!"
"What's going on?" Peardapple bringing up the rear of the patrol joined Littlenose and Dustymew along with the three siblings. "Jaykit, Twigkit and Bushkit, you're going to need to apologise." Growled Dustymew firmly. "Sorry, Littlenose." They all muttered in unison. "Good. You can all be seeing Stormstar now."
"Stormstar?! Oh no!" Gasped Twigkit. "I know they've gotten themselves in great trouble, but seeing Stormstar? I don't think that's necessary." Littlenose mewed cautiously. "It's completely necessary," answered Dustymew. "I'm going to bring them right away, in fact, Peardapple, lead the rest of the patrol." He ordered, and the she-cat bolted ahead to continue. "Littlenose, don't stand around dawdling, off with you!"
"Right away, Dustymew." Littlenose murmured, taking a final glance to his kits. This isn't going to end well.

Chapter 2-
After a while of walking and a good lecture Jaukit and their two siblings arrived at Stormstar's den. "Stormstar, we must speak." Decleared Dustymew. Stormstar, is a great Maine-coon grey tabby tom with a light marble pattern on his flanks. "Come in."
Stepping inside made Jaykit's blood run cold. "What's this? Why have you brought these kits here?" Snarled Stormstar, his piercing green gaze making all three kits shiver. "I believe they are the ones we've been searching for. The three."
Stor.star leaned in closer. "Speak with me," then he turned to the litter. "Wait outside." He ordered, before continuing. Twigoaw was first to speak. "Did you hear them? They've been searching for us!"
"Don't be stupid, they didn't even look for us!" Replied Bushkit. "What Twigpaw means, us that they were looking for cats, specific cats, and when they saw your... ability, they must have figured out something, but what?" Jaykit explained. They all say in silence, thinking. Seconds later, Dustymew appeared at the entrance. "Stormstar would like to speak with you, all of you."
Jaykit gulped. Something was bound to go wrong.
The second they entered, their eyes met Stormstar's frosty gaze. "I've heard what happened, and I would like to explain to you what it means " Stormstar announces. Firstly he turns to Bushkit. "You can breathe underwater, correct?"
"Yes, sire." Replies Bushkit. "Tell me everything."
Bushkit exains what he felt and did, and also how easily he could glide and swim in the water. "Good, and you two, what did you see?"
Twigkit then proceeded to tell him how Bushkit appeared on the surface of the water and splashed around easily like a fish. Finally, he turned to Jaykit. "You, tell me about yourself and Twigkit, have you any abilities?"
"Uhm, no, I don't think so." Jaykit answered. They looked at their paws. Stormstar nodded. "You may all go now," he said. Then quickly added, "do not tell anyone of your ability." There was a sharp silence until they all left. "A prophecy, were all in a prophecy!"

"Don't be ridiculous," Jaykit snapped, they swished their tail over their sister's back. Sighing they added, "Bushkit Is in a prophecy. We don't know yet." Jaykit hissed, but his eyes sparkled with anticipation- They were all siblings. There was three of them. It all seemed to intertwine, but the suspicion to know didn't last long when they had all been scolded for going to the river. "You'll have ragged prey," their parents had decided. "Aw, but aren't kits supposed to get the finest prey?" Bushkit pointed out hopefully. Dawnheart sighed. "That was disappointing, what you did. So, no. Not today. I'm going to speak with your father."
"Great. Now we get the worst prey! And worst yet- Bramblekit and Snowkit will probably get the nicest prey, and we'll have to sit and watch." Bushkit snorted, glaring at the white and tabby kits. Jaykit rolled their eyes. The two kits had always looked up to the siblings- yet the feeling clearly wasn't mutual. Bushkit had always despised them- Bramblekit in particular -For the stupid reason of their father, Dustymew, being the only warrior to ever often scold them, and how they would accidently brag about him being deputy.
"It's so great he's deputy," Snowkit would say, "he's also the best father ever."
"That's right. Hi, Bushkit, Twigkit." Bramblekit would always scent the kits even when they tried sneaking past to avoid another boring telling about how their father caught a falcon. Jaykit rolled their eyes, obviously they was being ignored again. The kit didn't like them, for some reason, and would always leave their name out even if they were supposed to be mentioned. Bramblekit waved his tail, beckoning the three- or probably two -over. Jaykit sat down anyway. "Were talking about Dustymew again, want to hear about the time he caught a falcon? Well it was a long, long time ago--"
"That's nice, Bramblekit," Bushkit jumped in, trying to look apologetic and sincere, but he wasn't great at hiding emotions, but luckily, Bramblekit was only 3 moons, so he didn't quite understand yet. "Yeah, sorry, Bramblekit. But we have a thing to do..."
"What thing?"
"A medicine thing." Jaykit jumped in, and Bramblekit gave him a very stern glare, as though he was older than his body was. He let out an annoyed snort. "Can't you just go?" He hissed. Jaykit felt his hackles raise. "Why you mouse-dung eating little-"
"No. We all have to go." Twigkit interrupted with a deathly stare toward Jaykit. Jaykit shuffled their paws, looking down. With a sigh Bramblekit mewed, "okay," and bounded away to Cherryheart, his mother. "I can't wait to leave the nursery," Jaykit muttered, "then we won't have to deal them."
"This him." Bushkit corrected but nodded his agreement. Twigkit rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed the siblings had become annoyed by younger kits.
After walking out of the nursery, they spotted Reedtail shuffling around some herbs inside the medicine den. They could clearly see her, considering there was nothing more than a leaf barrier surrounding the den, which was quite inconvenient weather-wise. "Oh, good day, Jaykit, Twigkit and Bushkit." The dark orange warrior greeted the kits. "Almost time for your apprentice ceremony?"
Twigkit stepped forward, nodding. "Yeah, were all super excited." She mewed, her tail swishing to prove her excitement. Reedtail purred.
"Reedtail, I have the herbs you wanted." Just then, the dark blue tabby tom Ripplepaw, brushed through the entrance. "Oh, hi Jaykit. Oh, Bushkit, Twigkit, hello." Ripplepaw spotted the grey kit, then the golden and brown tabbies, too. Jaykit felt excitement pulse through them. Finally someone's respected my presense! They thought happily. They'd been igored long enough, overshadowed by their siblings, due to the fact that they'd never been one to talk to anyone but close friends and family. They dipped their head respectfully. "It's great to see you," they purred to the tom. "How's training been going for you?"
"Oh, wonderfully! I have a wonderful mentor-" he flicked his tail to Reedtail appreciatively, who gave a thankful smile. "-And I love learning how to heal. I think I made the right choice from being a warrior." Ripplepaw's kind smile pushed Jaykit deep into thought. Was it possible that, perhaps instead of becoming a warrior, Jaykit would be destined for the life of a medicine cat? No. Of course not. That's mouse-brained. He was destoned to become a warrior, and success his father's legacy of hunting and defense. There's no life for me here. He forced himself to belive. Nothing.
