Would it be reasonable to assume there was leadership challenges from both new and old cats within the Dark Forest especially around Power of the Three and Omen of The Stars era specifically?
Off the top of my head the main leaders of the Dark Forest were: Tigerstar, Hawkfrost, Brokenstar, and Mapleshade and while Tigerstar and Brokenstar's authority could no doubt remain unchallenged (Although tbh Brokenstar and Mapleshade seemed to be the one with the grand plans and all) That doesn't mean the other "leaders" had some smooth sailing since I can imagine older Dark Forest spirits secretly challenging them on leadership position off-screen.
It can't be too far fetched to think this right? Or is this just me? Everybody in the Dark Forest was sent there due to their evil nature (Not Frecklewish though.) And other cats way in the past that did similar unforgivable actions would no doubt eye the leadership position. I guess the argument could be made that they all shared a goal to destroy the clans and so any in-fighting was forbidden but surely some old Dark Forest cat would get jealous and try to do something (before failing because we know how the big four are still the dominant force in TLH)
Edit: Just realised how weirdly worded "Probably but very likely" is right now. Sounds weird when I say it out loud.

Absolutely yes. There's a dozen aggressive and dominant personalities in the Dark Forest. Mapleshade and Tigerstar definitely fought over leadership at least once

I think it's mentioned somewhere that everyone is afraid of Mapleshade, so she probably keeps her top position. Brokenstar and Tigerstar definitely fight each other

I think so Yeah. I like to Headcannon that the Reason cats Like Tigerstar got to be Leaders is because they Were “prophesied” Like how Tigerkit n brokenkit were Somehow born evil, destined to destroy the clans

Tigerstar I think was smart enough to play it cool and let Brokenstar call the shots, but he secretly schemed nothing but his private revenge against Firestar, even when it would hurt Brokenstar to follow such counsel. He’s basically the wicked advisor whispering awful ideas to Brokenstar to serve his own ends

I'm more surprised that you had DF cats who were literally older than Mapleshade, like Snowtuft and Silverhawk, who were more than happy to just join the effort without any leadership roles, dip when they were losing, and become relevant three arcs later. Literal legends.
