Reading Warrior Cats in another language can be fun. Of course, though, there are times when there are translations that give you cognitive dissonance with the translations of some names.
For example, the Simplified Chinese translation for "Sorreltail" roughly comes out as "Chestnuttail" (栗尾). I also know for a fact that some languages translate Bramblestar's name into "Blackberrystar", and Simplified Chinese is no exception (黑莓星).
Do y'all know some other interesting translations like these? I'm curious to see the spread of Warrior Cats across the linguistic world, and what unique findings have come from it.

Sol's name in Spanish is translated as Solo for some weird reason. Sol's name in mainland Chinese is translated as "Sun God", 日神.

I (and most of the spanish fandom too) loathe Spanish Warriors translations. The names are so idiotic even for the simple ones, like Sol as you said. There's a tribe cat named "Chinese" in those translations for God's sake. I can't take them seriously.

Sol's name in mainland Chinese is translated as "Sun God", 日神. the word sol, in spanish is sun, so that's weird I suppose maybe the translators latched onto the idea that it was meant to be a pun for the word 'Sole', as in Sol is alone, and decided the pun was more important than keeping the Sun associations. But it's a bizarre choice as I would personally think that the Sun association is much more important.

One of my favourite is French Rowanclaw randomly getting what should have been Tawnypelt's translated name - Pelage Fauve. Meanwhile, Tawnypelt herself is Pelage d'Or, aka Goldpelt.
The most ridiculous situation arose when the translating team apparently started disliking the name they gave Cloud Spots, which was Cloud Hair. Hey. So, they produced an entirely new dialogue in Path of Stars, when he changes his own name to Black Cloud. And he gets a THIRD name in Moth Flight's Vision...
Also, it does not really qualify as "uncanny", but Lost Stars just came out here, and I couldn't suppress a snort at Bristlepaw getting translated as Silkcloud. (And yes, we have no -paws, they're all -clouds for some reason!) And Flippaw is called... Tornadocloud.

In the German, Robinwing of Thunderclan is called Redbreast (Rotbrust).
Also, both Robinwings of Windclan and Skyclan are Robinflight (Rotkehlchenflug), and Robinwing of Riverclan is Trushflight (Drosselflug).

I don't have Any real examples (other than rusty being changed to 'the red') since only the first series has been translated to my language ╯︿╰ i find the translations really Charming though. Might just be Me being disconnected from my Culture but They're Just. Comforting to read, like eating a Childhood favourite meal

I think Dappledtail in the German version was Poka-dotpelt.

Ashfur being called Cinderella in Norwegian (and in Spanish as Ashpaw iirc). This meme still fits:

I think Dappledtail in the German version was Poka-dotpelt. Nope. Dappletail is called Tupfenschweif (Tupfen is a German word for Dapple and schweif is German for tail). Although maybe someone put her name through Google Translate and it came out weird because I just did that and got Appletail/Apfelschweif for some reason.

Ashfur being called Cinderella in Norwegian (and in Spanish as Ashpaw iirc). This meme still fits: Ashfur was called Ceniciento in Spanish, which is a male variant of the name. So not quite as funny as it could have been.

When my irl cat Ravenpaw was a kitten, he farted. A LOT. My husband started calling him poot.
Then I was looking through the Dutch version of ITW, and Ravenpaw was listed as Ravenpoot.

Here are Rusty's names in different languages.
Dutch: Rufus German: Sammy Finnish: Ruska Russian: Рыжик (The Russian word for the saffron milk cap mushroom.) Spanish: Colorado Ukranian: Рудьков
Rufus sounds like a more fitting name for a dog, and Colorado is pretty weird to me.
