What is your favorite main series book from the WoF series? I'll make another poll about the extra books. You can explain why you like this book the most. For me it's The Flames of Hope.

Shame that there's no Winglets or Legends options here. Eh, no matter, I'll go with Dangerous Gift. It was nice to see some more Icewing content outside of Winter, and Lynx is a national treasure. It's also not often that you see solid character development over the course of a book, but I think Tui got this one in the bag.

My favs:
The Lost Heir - because Tsunami and Seawings are my favs, I love SeaWing culture and the Summer Palace, and the murder mystery and final fight with the statue was really engaging
Moon Rising - I adore Moon and her POV in this book is just top-tier. It's really fun to read from the POV of a mind-reader and I just think Moon in general is a a sweet and relatable character
The Poison Jungle - I live for the build-up of this book; you can just FEEL how something is "off" and it culminates in the reveal of The Othermind and it's all creepy in a way that I love. It gets bonus points for Sunlow too, one of the few canon ships in this series that I whole-heartedly adore.
The Dangerous Gift - my goodness I LOVE Snowfall and her development soooo much
uh anyways, I choose TLH for the poll lol

The Dangerous Gift is easily my favorite wof book!!!!
I think its hard for Tui to write growth in characters without separating them from the main storyline and other characters and she definitely changed that in TDG. Obviously she still has the issue of only really being able to develop characters when they're having a "one off adventure" but I think it fits really well in Icicles POV. I also found Snowfall and Lynx to be a really fun duo, I like to joke that the book was essentially "Snowfall discovers empathy with DBT therapist Lynx" lol.
Also after reading (and now re-reading) all 15 main series books and all of the legends and winglets books I can safely say that the way Tui writes couples is a little old to me, and part of me likes to read into their relationship as a more than a friendship (even though canonically it isn't)-- its just a nice change of pace from how Tui tends to write relationships so it's def appealing to me in that sense.
And the whole section about Jerboa and Boa? Heartbreaking, I think about it so often...!!!! And I feel like the scavenger dragon relationships and fascination are often very forced but it really felt like genuine interest from Snowfall especially with the human pov she got!
So many aspects of Snowfalls POV tie in SO well with the whole story line, its just so well written AND interesting. I have books that I find interesting for the plot and books I think are written well, but with Tui's work it is kinda rare for me to find one I think is written strongly and is interesting. I mean overall I do think she did arc 3 really well. theres a lot of issues I saw in previous arcs that she didn't have in arc 3, but thats for another thread lol.
