Notifications from threads?

Is there any way to get notifications from threads I've posted in, specifically threads I own? Right now, it seems like I only get notified when someone likes my post. (And I don't mean I want an actual ping or anything, I just mean that little number that pops up in the profile widget. I'd like to have that pop up whenever someone posts in my threads, so I can reply to them.)

I saw a thing to 'bookmark' the thread, but I can't find it again, and I don't know if that does this or is something different.
