"That works. You can lead the way." Dawnpaw nodded his agreement, sweeping his tail to allow Yewpaw to lead the hunt. Admittedly, he was still a bit distracted by his unhappiness with how Scarletpaw seemed to not like him. He didn't want his sister to dislike him, especially since he had no idea what he did. His heart ached a bit, worry in his chest, though he hid it with his gentle smile. Yewpaw looked back at Dawnpaw, then to Bluewhisker, who was padding away, either to go back to camp or to hunt by herself. Once they had gotten a little away from the hollow, the prey scents started to come back. Yewpaw opened her mouth, and found a mouse scent trail. Yewpaw flicked her tail to the bush she thought it was in. She got down on her paws, and crept closer, and closer, and closer... there it is! The mouse was hiding under a bush, nibbling on an acorn. Now! Yewpaw pounced, killing the mouse with one swift bite to the neck. "Great catch!" Dawnpaw complimented, padding calmly back to Yewpaw's side as he eyed the mouse. He flicked his ear, still a bit distracted, but hoping to bring back some prey as well. He turned his head. "I'm going to track this bird scent over here and hope it landed so I can catch it. I won't go far."

"You'll make it out." Midnightstream mewed firmly, though it was clear that she was telling herself this as well, as she looked at Darktail with stern eyes. "You'll make it out just fine, and we'll raise our kits, and hopefully get this second cat out of your head, and make everything better." Darktail mustered a smile, "Right. We'll do exactly that. Come on, you've been up for a while. Let's go rest for a bit before I have to go on my evening patrol." "Yeah." Midnightstream suddenly sighed, her voice soft yet clearly tired. "I'm worn out, more than I thought I'd be. It's odd, how much more sluggish this pregnancy thing makes you, even this early on." She padded at Darktail's side, humoring. "Lead the way then, Darkstar."

Squirreltail smiled down at Twilightkit and Tansykit, enjoying this little time she had with them. "You would make an excellent leader, Twilightkit. It's a good goal to have for one day." She said with a gentle purr, giving the sleepy kit a few licks. Lionkit beamed at his father, feeling his chest puff with pride at his praise. He stalked after the leaf Blizzardstorm had pointed out before pouncing on it, his front paws landing on it. Lionkit giggled and batted at the leaf playfully. "How long has Lightningstar been leader Mama?" Twilightkit asked with half-open eyes. "He looks like he's been leader for moons and moons and moons!" (Twilight: Lightning, lol you're old) Blizzardstorm beamed as Lionkit landed on the leaf, impressed with the kit's skills already. "That was great Lionkit! Don't go telling your siblings that I gave you special lessons though. They might get jealous. This is a secret between you and me." he whispered, getting down close to the kit like it was the biggest secret in the world. (I thought I had responded to this x.x sorry) "Hmm, I believe that he became leader when I was still a kit." Squirreltail said thoughtfully, her whiskers twitching as she thought back that far. "It was when AdderClan first started to form, so he's been ThunderClan's leader for many moons now." Lionkit's eyes gleamed in excitement as he nodded, "Okay!" He squeaked, lowering his voice down to a whisper as well. "I'll be the best warrior ever! Maybe one day I'll get to be leader too!" He purred, tail waving as he batted at the leaf again.

Darktail rolled his eyes fondly, "If anything, I think I'd like to be deputy to a certain Midnightstar." he mewed as he led the way to their nest. Settling down on the outskirts of it so he could curl around her.
~
"Wow." Twilightkit breathed. It was hard to imagine his mother as a kit in his mind. He wondered if she played the same games he did. "Who was the leader before Lightningstar?"
Blizzardstorm padded over to the wall of the camp, scooping up a pawful of leaves and scattering them in front of Lionkit to pounce on. "If you keep working hard, perhaps one day you will be. Lionstar is certainly a strong name."

Chestnutfur gave a small shake of her head, "Not exactly. Not with any of the other Clans at least." She said, looking back at Hickoryshade. "I had only just been made an apprentice when the rogues attacked our camp last time, and a few border skirmishes with RiverClan, I haven't seen much battle myself." She said sheepishly. Now that she thought about it, she didn't really have much to show for her time as a Warrior besides some decent hunting and border patrols. "You're lucky, then." Hickoryshade mused lightly, her voice oddly soft, different from her usual confidence and strength. She looked at Chestnutfur with both hope and heaviness. "A true battle between Clans, a vicious one, you begin to lose sight of why you fight when you have to slash at another Warrior. I have no doubt that you're talented, with or without a serious battle under your paws. Please, don't be embarrassed that you've yet to fight like I've had to." She implored, hoping that Chestnutfur would be willing to see the way of Fluffcloud and Eelshock's wishes for peace and unification. Chestnutfur's ear flicked and fell silent as she considered the older Warrior's words, pausing as she caught the scent of a bird. Giving a flick of her tail to signal Hickoryshade, she dropped into a hunting crouch and started stalking after it. She was focused on hunting for the most part, but her mind couldn't help but wander back to what Hickoryshade had said. She was proud to defend her territory from anyone that would trespass, but the thought of fighting another Clan over prey that is struggling to feed itself didn't sit well with her. Giving a small shake of her head, her eyes trained on the fat dove that was pecking around the roots of a tree. Launching herself at the bird, Chestnutfur brought her paws down on it before it could fly off and quickly bit down on its neck.

Most I would do is make a mandatory sleeping hour right at sunhigh for a good nap." Midnightstream teased, the idea of leadership seeming to suit Autumnfall much better than her, out of her nursery mates. "But you'd be a great deputy, you know."

"Nice catch. You didn't tell me you were a skilled hunter as well. Thunderclan's got a reason to be proud of you." She teased.

Magpiewing ducked her head in approval at Sootpaw's hunting crouch and hurried away to unbury his mouse. If he was successful here, he'd have a pretty good record to return to camp with. She felt a twitch of pride for her apprentice. He learned quickly and clearly listened to her. Even with his energetic nature, he's not too hard to train. She grasped the mouse by the tail and halted when she saw him. "Well?" Bumping for you Icefire15 !) Sootpaw lifted up his bird proudly to show his mentor before setting it down, "Will we pick the squirrel up when we head back too?" He asked, remembering that he had caught one earlier before the mouse.

Plumfur had always disliked battle, and for reasons that Fluffcloud and Eelshock intended to change. Perhaps she'd be a great addition to their new Clan when it was formed, as a skilled hunter who would never have to battle again if she did not want to.

Midnightstream nodded, the idea of just being able to live life as Warriors together sounding just as wonderful as being a deputy or leader. If anything, she just wanted to be able to lay next to him as long as she lived. Feeling a bit embarrassed at how sappy she sounded, she tucked her head on her paws. "Wake me up if a blizzard starts this time."

Shadowblossom's tail thumped on the ground behind her, her mouth drawing thin. "He'll probably just say that Laceheart passed during her kitting, and the truth about Seafoam. She died of old age and whitecough. Skyclan may spin the truth as well if they lost any cats to the prey. Though a warning to the other clans might be a sign of peace between everyone. Lightningstar is already visiting each camp to warn of the rising of the dark forest." "Maybe. But I think we should come clean eh? Who knows, maybe some of the prey even ran over into Shadowclan territory. They should know" But he didn't even know if he believed his words. How would the other clans react? "Well, let's just hope this Dark Forest drama doesn't become Adderclan 2.0" Bramblefur shivered. How many cats would die if that happened? Who would he lose?

Squirreltail explained, not able to remember much about the time when Duskstar had led ThunderClan. "She came back many moons later though and lived the rest of her life as an elder here in camp. She had started going by the name Dusk and had dropped 'star from her name, so she was no longer a leader when she returned." Lionkit jumped after the scattered leaves before lifting his head proudly, "I would wanna make ThunderClan strong enough one day so that none of the other Clans would want to mess with us! Then you and mama would be safe!" He purred.

Bluewhisker ranged away from the sandy hollow, sunlight rippling over her pelt as she padded along beneath the trees. Her jaws were parted slightly to draw in scent. She pushed through a swath of undergrowth, emerging into the small clearing beside the Owl Tree.
Closer to the border with WindClan now, she pricked her ears and opened her mouth wider, her whiskers quivering as she caught the scent she was searching for.
A few fox-lengths away, a rabbit was nibbling on some clover oblivious to the predator lurking so close by. Staying low, Bluewhisker crept closer, staying hidden behind fronds of fern and bracken. The rabbit started when her tail brushed a blade of tall grass, but it was too late. She pounced, giving it a quick nip to the neck to kill it quickly.
"Thank you, StarClan, for this prey," she murmured.

Once he scented the prey she had caught, his eyes widened with understanding. He glanced back at his hunting partner, though he could see that Snowdrop seemed distracted by something. He pushed further out towards Bluewhisker, complimenting her kindly. "That was a good catch. We happened to be patrolling around here and scented you."

To be able to kill Yarrowcloud in his sleep, and Silentflare having to see it. I can only imagine how much that must have affected him. I always assumed that Silentflare wanted nothing to do with his brother. I guess I was wrong, based on his response to it.” She admitted lightly.
