"Great! I don't think I'm on patrol until the evening, will you be free in the morning? Violetpaw and I like to go out near sunrise." Jasmineheart mewed with a smile. "I know you might have to drag Larkpaw up to join us though," she added with a snicker. "She's always sleeping when we leave."
Larkpaw shuffled ahead of Juniperpaw in tense silence, squinting as she led the way back out into the sun. As soon as she was far away from the entrance she whipped around to glance over her sister, her mouth a thin line.
Sagefoot hummed lowly, something she used to do when they were kits in the nursery. A stabilizing tune for not only their kits but herself too. They were growing up, she had to face the fears that one day they would be injured. Her ears fell further as she thought of the conversation she had with Stonepath earlier, if she became leader and was gifted 9 lives, would she outlive her kits? The thought made her heart pound.

Her ears fell further as she thought of the conversation she had with Stonepath earlier, if she became leader and was gifted 9 lives, would she outlive her kits? The thought made her heart pound. "I'm sure I can get Larkpaw up if I bother her enough." Siltpath humored, inwardly excited for the chance to spend time with Jasmineheart, and give Larkpaw some good training at the same time. He was really getting the hang of mentoring, though Larkpaw made it very easy. Juniperpaw carried the rabbit out of the tunnel, trying her best to hide the limp in her leg. She was quickly stopped by Stonepath's calm tail on her side as they left the tunnel. He rumbled, gentle yet firm. "Let me see it." Juniperpaw puffed a light breath, wanting to argue, but knowing better than to say no to her father. She turned to show her leg tentatively as Stonepath looked closely at it. The stoic tom gave a light exhale, mewing outloud. "We'll need to get Dawnshadow to look at it. I don't want that getting infected. It's deeper than you said, you know. You might be able to hide such things from other cats, but not from your mother or me." He reminded.

Weaselstride carried her prey, deep in thought. She noticed Antbite across camp, though she sought her father out with her eyes. She blinked numbly when she didn’t see him, her eyes falling to the ground.

Jasmineheart purred, "Sounds great, I always like training sessions with other cats. It helps ease the tension I think. Training is always more fun when your friends are there."
Sagefoot touched her nose to Juniperpaw's head, "It was a good catch, rabbits are not easy prey. How about you let your father or I carry the rabbit back to camp and you can lean on us. We don't want the injury to get worse."
"You can lean on me Juniperpaw! If you'd like." Larkpaw piped up, staring at her sister with worry.

Eclipsesky placed his prey down on the pile beside the others. He took one glance at Palegaze and Weaselstride before scurrying away to hide in the corner of camp. The last thing he wanted to do was to drag Palegaze down even more.

“I couldn’t agree more.” Siltpath mewed fondly, agreeing with Jasmineheart’s sentiments. “It’ll be great. We’ll make it super fun, and super educational of course! We’re mentors, after all!” He teased.
Juniperpaw seemed unhappy that their hunting was cut short, but she knew better than to argue with either of her parents. She looked at Larkpaw apologetically. “I’m sorry. I didn’t want the day to be ruined just cause of a little rabbit bite…”

"What have you and Larkpaw been working on recently? Violetpaw and I have been focusing on mapping out the tunnels and ways to find prey. We haven't done much battle training yet. I'm a bit nervous about that." Jasmineheart admitted.
Larkpaw bumped her shoulder with Juniperpaw's gently, offering to help her walk back to camp. "Don't worry about it. We'll have moons and moons to do this."
Sagefoot picked up the rabbit, walking closely behind their daughters. She threw Stonepath a worried look but tried to stay quiet for their kits sake.

I can totally help you out, if it's something that makes you a bit nervous. You just gotta find your rhythm, you know?" Juniperpaw offered her sister a small and grateful smile, though her eyes drooped lightly. She had always felt timid and frail, and she didn't want to be seen as weak, especially when her mother and father were so respected amongst the Tunnelers. She mewed softly. "I know..." Stonepath watched Juniperpaw and Larkpaw for a moment before he shared a glance with his mate. His eyes silently relayed his concern for their daughter.

Palegaze placed his catch onto the pile, looking around for a moment as if confused. He eventually spotted Eclipsesky hiding in a corner of the camp and let out a small sigh. He knew his cousin was hiding from him for some rabbit-brained reason, but pestering him right now would likely only worsen it. And besides, he was tired.
"You did well today. I'm proud of you," he said to Beanpaw. "Grab some fresh-kill, then go rest," he instructed gently.

I've never been that great at that aspect of being a warrior, I'm glad recently we haven't had many battles." Larkpaw ducked into the camp slowly, making sure that Juniperpaw would have plenty of room to get through the brambled entrance. She looked around the camp for Dawnshadow, frowning when she didn't see any activity over by the medicine cat den. Sagefoot slipped around her daughters to deposit the rabbit on the fresh kill pile before returning to their side. Eclipsesky frowned when he noticed the blood dripping down Juniperpaw's leg, he nervously got to his paws padding over to the deputy and her family. "Dawnshadow is still tending to Fallowmeadow and her newborn kits.. I could um.. take a look at your leg if you'd like."

Ye, I'll start one ^.^)
Eaglepaw was stalking after a stray leaf, her hunting crouch shaky at best. She pounced at the leaf and batted at it excitedly, wanting to let out some of the pent up energy she had. Fernheart still had yet to take her out to explore the territory, but Eaglepaw was willing to let it slide considering the recent loss of her mate.
Morningpaw watched Eaglepaw's playful stalk from a corner, wondering when Spottedclaw would be planning on taking her into the tunnels to train.
Whispersong padded towards the fresh-kill pile after returning from a patrol, looking for a rabbit to eat.

Sandfall was still hanging near the fresh kill pile with Silverspirit when Whispersong approached, he nodded to her placing down his catch on the pile. "Hi Whispersong, how was your patrol?"
Silverspirit glanced between Whispersong and Sandfall, a glint of interest in her eye before she nodded to the two, "See you around Sandfall!" she called sing-songy, hurrying away from the fresh-kill pile.

Whispersong blinked at Sandfall, giving him a shy smile, "Oh, hi, Sandfall. It went alright." She mewed, dragging a rabbit off of the pile. "I see your hunting patrol went pretty good as well, those are some nice catches." Whispersong commented, nodding to the catches he had placed on the pile.

"It went even better for some." Sandfall mewed with amusement, glancing over to where Soarshadow and Ivyvine were moving their nests even closer together. "I was surprised how much prey was on the moor so shortly after the wind vortex though, maybe it disturbed some burrows. The borders were uneventful?"

Whispersong blinked and followed Sandfall's gaze over to Soarshadow and Ivyvine, "Oh, really? That's good for them." She mewed, picking up on what Sandfall was implying. "The borders were fine, we didn't see any other border patrols from the other clans so it was rather uneventful." Whispersong continued, pulling the rabbit closer to her. She blinked up at Sandfall shyly, "Um, have you eaten yet? I don't mind sharing if you're hungry." She offered.

Sandfall's smile grew fond, "Oh, if you're sure! I'll share with you." He mewed, trying not to purr. His heart pounded in his chest, he knew they had been circling one another for a while, if only he could work up the courage to confess.

"Well, if there's one thing I worked hard at to be good at, it was battle training. I guess I wanted to show that I could fit right into Clan life." Siltpath admitted, remembering how hard he tried to impress all his Clanmates back when he had first been brought to Windclan. He promised. "We'll get both you and Violetpaw in the right shape for battle practice. I promise." Juniperpaw looked at Eclipsesky with surprise, not sure if that was allowed, now that he had stepped down. Even so, her silence was interrupted by her father's smooth nod and voice. "That would be greatly appreciated, Eclipsesky. With the kitting, Dawnshadow's likely very busy, and I'd rather Juniperpaw's leg be looked at now rather than later, when it gets infected." He mewed deeply.

"Thanks Siltpath, I really appreciate it." Jasmineheart mewed softly. "For what it's worth, I've always thought you've belonged here, you never have to prove yourself to me."
Eclipsesky relaxed slightly at Stonepath's statement, "Great.. um Juniperpaw you can follow me into the medicine cat den. I'll get some marigold and cobwebs."
Sagefoot nodded to Eclipsesky, "Your help would be great. Thank you."
Larkpaw, not wanting to crowd the medicine cat den headed for the apprentice's den with a sigh. She settled out in front of it, waiting anxiously for them to return.

Siltpath was quiet for a moment, the words coming from Jasmineheart being so simple, yet meaning so much to the young Warrior. He offered her a soft smile, eyes bright. "Well, that means alot, coming from you. Thanks, Jasmineheart. I'm glad too, that I could live my life in a Clan with cats like you." He felt his fur warm before he chuckled sheepishly. "And tasty rabbits, too!"
Juniperpaw looked ready to complain, but she kept herself quiet as Eclipsesky ushered her into the den. She looked back once at her parents, not wanting them to worry about a silly little bite.
"I never expected her to want to hide things from us." Stonepath murmured lightly to Sagefoot, looking a bit uneasy as he glanced at the ground. "We'd never punish her for being in any pain. Why wouldn't she want to tell us if it's deeper than she said it was?"

Jasmineheart giggled, "The rabbits are pretty nice, but your mother should have picked Riverclan if she was doing it based on the amount of prey the clan gets. They seem to never run out of fish! Though it makes my nose wrinkle even thinking about trying one."
Eclipsesky tried not to look around the herb stores too much as he grabbed what he needed and returned to Juniperpaw's side, mixing up the poultice and spreading it gently along her wound with expert precision. "Must have been a big rabbit." he murmured, trying to ease the tension.
Sagefoot sighed, leaning against Stonepath. "I just don't think she wanted to stop and get it looked at. Perhaps in the moment she truly didn't realize how bad it was with all the excitement."

"Are you kidding? My mother would sink like a rock if she ever tried to swim." Siltpath laughed, fondness for his mother clear in his voice as he glanced over towards the nursery. He could see Mottledsong right now, laughing warmly as she spent time with Ashsong's kits. Siltpath looked at Jasmineheart again. "Fish certainly smells enough to make my nose wrinkle."
"...It was normal sized, I think. Just... really fast. But I still caught it." Juniperpaw finally spoke after a long moment, the polituce stinging at first, but soon fading into a cooling sensation. She blinked sadly. "I didn't expect it to bite me."
"Either that or she's trying to act tough." Stonepath mused, though Sagefoot's words did make alot of sense. He blinked at her, head tilting. "Have I ever tried to hide things from you? Maybe she gets it from me, and I just don't realize it." He tried to reason.

"I always wondered if I'd be good at swimming... or if I would actually like the taste of fish because of my father's blood." Jasmineheart mused quietly. "I guess I'll never get to find out though."
Eclipsesky hummed as he placed the cobwebs on top of the wound, backing away a few steps once he was finished. "If I've learned anything in the past few moons, it's that catching rabbits is much harder than it looks. You should be proud Juniperpaw."
"Nothing I can think of." Sagefoot mewed honestly, "And me, well at least to you I think I chatter every thought like a starling. She's a very quiet apprentice, perhaps it's just how she's going to be."

“Hey, well. If your blood makes you like fish, then my blood makes me like, what, crowfood? What do loners eat?” Siltpath’s muzzle quirked in an understanding smile, before he mused. “That part of you just didn’t come out, then. And that’s fine, since we can’t catch fish here anyway.”
Juniperpaw looked up at Eclipsesky, feeling a bit better thanks to his assurance. She did miss seeing Eclipsesky in the medicine den, and she admitted softly. “It’s odd seeing you not in this den anymore. But I’ll see you out here with all of us under the stars. I think you’re too good for Starclan to be upset with for long, that you stepped down.”
“Not alot of things scare me. But not knowing if our kit is in pain, that scares me.” Stonepath admitted, for once looking like he did when he was a younger and shier tom, hiding behind Rainfeather’s soft fur. He looked at Sagefoot. “This’ll be the hardest part…”

"Sometimes I wish I could try it, just to see if I got anything from my father. I don't really look like either of my parents. I loved my mother dearly, but my father was more a strange concept to me rather than an actual cat. I've met him, but he's always been at a distance." Jasmineheart mewed, looking away from him for a moment.
"Trust me, I try to walk in here almost every day Juniperpaw." Eclipsesky replied with a wry smile. "But, I have found a recent comfort in the tunnels. It reminds me of my mother. Perhaps one day soon we could go on patrol together, you could probably teach me a lot."
"Watching them grow up, we can't protect them forever. I would give anything if we could." Sagefoot said, glancing toward the medicine cat den entrance. "I know that is the way of our life, but sometimes I wish we could send them off to be soft kittypets. Safe in their twolegs nest and away from the dangers of the moor."

"Well... I won't ask who he is." Siltpath started, his voice honest and empathetic, before he shrugged. "If anything, my father's nothing more than a concept too. So, I know exactly what that feels like. Connecting to a cat you only really know in that way, it's hard!" He puffed, giving a dramatic sigh before he offered a small smile. "One day, we can try a fish. We can find one washed up at the gorge border, and share it." He chuckled.
"Me? T-teach you?" Juniperpaw exclaimed, her voice high and shy as she shuffled her front paws and swallowed. "I uh... uhm, I don't know if I'd be all that good at... uhm..." She trailed off, before her ears fell. "You probably know plenty! Palegaze is your kin, he's had to have taught you way more than I could..." She mewed softly, clearly self-conscious about her own abilities.
"I imagine if they became kittypets, they would just as easily die from being overfed and getting caught by a yapping dog." Stonepath muttered, before he released a soft sigh and mewed. "I know you're right... I just hate to admit it. I like knowing I'm in control over things, so when I'm not, it makes things hard." He flicked his ear, mewing lightly. "Seeing Mudpath and Russetpelt in that cave-in, I felt as if I had failed them. They wanted safety, and found that instead. It's why I've been asking to do so many tunnel repair patrols. I need to know that I can at least control that, so it won't happen again."

Jasmineheart laughed, imagining it in her head. The two of them, sitting close as they made faces over the taste of fish. "I think I would like that. Even if we both hate the fish. Having you there would make it special." she mewed, looking down shyly.
Eclipsesky flicked his tail as he gathered up the scraps of unused herbs. "Palegaze has Beanpaw to teach, he's helping me all he can but Beanpaw is his priority. I know the basics of tunneling but I will never get formal training like you will. I'm sure there's a lot that you know that I don't. After all, if you're going to talk about my kin, your mother and father are both exceptional tunnelers."
"I felt it too, the weight of their deaths on my shoulders like I delivered their killing blows." Sagefoot mewed, voice hollow. "It just made me want to push everyone to be more comfortable in the tunnels though. They had no way of knowing which way was safe or which way would lead them to us. They entered blindly and unfortunately it cost them."
