Milkkit sat up, rubbing a sleepy eye with a paw. "Wheatkit's awake too, what do you want to do Tumblekit? Mama doesn't like us going out of the nursery without her."

"I haven't, you're right. Based on your tone I'm assuming you and Tinyflower don't get along very well either huh." Jasmineheart mewed with a slight frown. "Furyflame and I used to fight a lot when we were younger, but in recent moons we've grown closer. I'm glad we've settled our differences." Sagefoot purred, "Good, I'm glad to hear. Let me tell you, the first time a rabbit got it's teeth in me I thought I was going to Starclan! I was a pretty young apprentice the first time, Swallowfeather coddled me for days." She mewed, the memory fond in her head. "I get along fine with her, or at least I always try to. It's her that just suddenly changed one day. We used to be close, you know. Very close. But, she's become more and more judgmental, more hostile, and I... just can't accept that kind of unkindness." Siltpath explained, sighing deeply. He admitted. "She's livid that Cobblepaw wanted to train as a Moor-Runner now. I don't understand why she's so mad about it, but I'm worried she might try and be difficult for him on purpose." Juniperpaw seemed to relax a bit as her mother had admitted that she too had been bitten before. She felt less embarrassed at least because of it. Even so, she gave a small hum. "Well, you don't have to coddle me over this, I promise. I'll be good as new as soon as possible. I don't want to miss Birchstep's lessons." Jasmineheart's mouth formed a thin line as she listened to Siltpath, nodding slightly with understanding. "It's hard to understand how you can be so angry at your own clanmate when you're a kind cat like you are. I hope she doesn't bother Cobblepaw too much, but I know Cobblepaw won't care either way. He's a strong cat." "That's good to hear, but don't push yourself too much Juniperpaw. If you do too much too soon you might hurt yourself further. Then you may be out of lessons with Birchstep for even longer." Sagefoot mewed carefully. "I'm not asking you to stop your training, just be careful okay?"

Sandfall flexed his claws, adjusting to accommodate his permanently wrenched shoulder until he was more comfortable. "It does get frustrating that Windclan always seems to be the hungriest of the clans. Besides maybe Shadowclan after the fire. We rely almost completely on rabbits. The other clans have so much more prey to catch." "Did you see ThunderClan and SkyClan at the last Gathering though? They didn't seem to be doing so well prey-wise this leaf-bare either." Whispersong mewed, remembering how skinny the other two Clans had looked at the Gathering. "I think the fire effected all of the Clans except for RiverClan. They looked as plump as they always do." "That's true, I'm sure a lot of prey either ran away or was caught in the fire. But the river was unaffected." Sandfall mewed with a sigh. "I hope that newleaf is kinder to every clan. Hungry cats are more likely to start wars."

I think some cats are scared of what that can mean, you know?” “I’ll be careful.” Juniperpaw sighed, even if she knew her mother was speaking wisely. She gave a small noise of complaint as Stonepath began to groom her ears, the tom reminding her innocently. “I’m just getting the dust off, don’t be embarassed.”

"It means that perhaps the clan is evolving for the better." Jasmineheart said, eyes flashing with a bit of defiance in them. "Scarstar and Swiftstar have both been fair and honest leaders who were working on ending this silly interclan rivalry. I have high hopes for the day when Sagefoot is leader. She is a tunneler, but her whole family is moor-runners and they never shamed her for that. She has a good head on her shoulders."
Sagefoot snuck a grin at Stonepath, darting forward to lick Juniperpaw's head once herself. "There, all clean. Go rest up with Larkpaw and we'll come check on you at sundown."

"I know, I know, but I'm still soooo boardddd!" Tumblekit sighed, "Will you explore with me?" he turned to Wheatkit, hoping his brother was as eager as him to explore, all they did right now was sleep and drink milk! Tumblekit wanted to learn to run, he wanted to rush around camp and ask a lot of questions so he himself could become the best warrior possible when Tumblekit grew up, his mind drifted off into thinking about his warrior name while he waited for his brother to sleepily answer, TumbleFoot, TumbleFern, TumbleFang, TumbleClaw.. so many- I hope I get a feirce one!

"Oo! Maybe we could eat it! Our first prey!" Tumblekit squeaked hopefully, before trying to get to his feet- failing a few times- but atlast managed to stand, "C'mone!" he said to Wheatkit, "Lets find it!" his head swiviled to his sisters, "You can come too if you wanna," his feet flopped around as he tried to walk, and he fell to the ground with a huff. Tumblekit could have sworn he heard a giggle from his brother but he ignored it as he got to his feet and eventually managed to walk around a bit.

Milkkit wobbled to her paws beside Tumblekit with one last yawn. "I'm coming!" she squeaked.
Wolfstep ducked into the nursery, ears pricking with surprise as he saw his younger siblings up and about. He purred, ducking down to look at the three kits. "My my, what do we have here? You three being trouble makers already?"

Siltpath seemed to smile fondly at Jasmineheart's enthusiasm and support of the changes in the Clan. If anything, he completely agreed with her. As hard as it would be for many of the Clan to accept, he did hope to see a Windclan that wasn't afraid to try out any role that could be offered. He thought quietly about how much he envied the Queens sometimes, how much he loved spending time with kits. But, could a tom even possibly request to do a Queen's job? He didn't know, but he pushed it away for now. Instead, he purred. "When Sagefoot is leader, I have a feeling that we're going to see a whole new Windclan, and hopefully for the better. I have faith in her, like I do in Swiftstar." "Alright, alright." Juniperpaw muttered, secretly liking the gentle affection, but reminding herself that she needed to be strong and independent now that she was an apprentice. She waved her tail quickly to her parents, padding off in search of Larkpaw in Camp. Stonepath watched her go with a soft sigh as he nudged Sagefoot. "She's trying to be independent. I ah... I did the same thing at her age. I thought it was kit-like to get affection from my mother at that age, but luckily I grew to appreciate her care, as stuffy as it could be." He chuckled.

Wheatkit stood beside his littermates, his tufted tail sticking straight up in the air. He paused as his older brother entered the nursery, blinking at him and leaning forward to sniff his nose with his tiny pink one.
"Oh! You're Wolfstep. I'm Wheatkit," he said.

"I'll be happy to see it." Jasmineheart admitted. "The clan has seen a lot of suffering. Some more gentle changes will hopefully unite the clan and make us stronger than before. I don't plan on being a full moor runner anytime soon, but I wouldn't mind spending a bit more time out of the tunnels and learning the top side of our territory as well as we know the tunnels. I know the moor runners would benefit from learning more about the tunnels. Whether they realize it or not."
Larkpaw was still where she had plopped down outside the apprentice's den, her ears perked as she noticed Juniperpaw coming back toward her. "You're already walking better." she mewed with a smile. "Eclipsesky must have done a good job."
Sagefoot leaned against Stonepath as they watched their daughter walk away. "I was hoping they would be more like Silverspirit and I. We spent much of our apprenticehood at Swallowfeather's side because it made her happy, and.. well you know how Stormfury was. Swallowfeather was especially clingy with us after Sandfall got hurt. I'm proud of them for being so strong and eager to learn, I just hope they don't come to regret it one day when we're gone."

Wolfstep dipped his head to the kits, greeting each of them like he hadn't been visiting them each day since they had been born. "Nice to meet you Tumblekit, Wheatkit. And?" he asked, looking questionably at Milkkit.
Milkkit ducked half behind her brothers, looking out at Wolfstep with a small frown. "Milkkit." she said quietly.

"Why you so nervilous?" Tumblekit asked her, clearly mispronouncing the word a bit, "He's our big strong warrior brother!" Tumblekit puffed out his chest, "One day I'll be as biggg and as stronggg and braaave as you!" he announced, "All warriors are- but I'll be the bestest!"

Morningpaw jumped at Rebelpaw's voice, looking at him with wide eyes, "N-no! I-I'm sorry, I d-didn't mean to stare!" She mewed nervously, her ears flattening as she tried to explain herself. "I... Wolfstep's eyes twinkled with amusement, he couldn't wait for the day that he and Hazelear had kits. "I'm sure you will all be wonderful warriors. Your father is the leader after all, he'll make sure to give you the best mentors! And thank you Wheatkit, I worked hard to grow this big and strong."
Fallowmeadow awoke, cracking an eye open to half glare at her older son. "Don't say things like that, your father would never play favorites."
Milkkit giggled as Wolfstep was scolded, suddenly not seeing the large tom as much of a threat as he stared sheepishly at their mother.

Siltpath mewed thoughtfully, tapping his chin with his paw. "I'm guessing Eclipsesky, since Dawnshadow's going to be really busy doing all the medicine cat duties on her own, right? Once Clovekit reaches six moons, she'll have to be teaching her too." Juniperpaw mused thoughtfully, glancing over at the nursery. She could already see Clovekit carrying what looked like wet moss for Fallowmeadow. "Dustfire can't have died for nothing. Surely Swiftstar knows that, that his legacy as a tunneler must be preserved. Dustfire was one of the best of us." Stonepath mewed protectively, having tunneled and helped teach the younger tom the ways of tunneling himself.
