Binx — The Barn, Before the Storm | With Alice and Wonder feathertalon light The guardian had surprised her a bit, though she’d been engrossed in learning about Spark and these odd competitions he did. She couldn’t really imagine using any of her skills just to win something, though she supposed part of it was the will of the twolegs. Perhaps they were also fun for him. If he was anything like the size of Bo, then the feline was sure he couldn’t be made to do something he didn’t want to do. Hm - she’d have to ask more about it later. Right now, her new focus was Bo and the older molly’s response to him. “I don’t know about being an expert,” Binx responded with a hint of sheepishness, watching as the pair moved to the edge of the bale once more. She’d not considered moving with them, admittedly still a little unsure about being in such close proximity to any of the dogs. The calico seemed to pick up in this despite her best efforts, inviting her to make herself at home between the pair. After a moment, she took the invitation. With a quiet ‘thanks’ and a few steps, Binx found herself seated between her new companions. “But, I am learning a lot.” While she hadn’t expected to, she found comfort sitting between them, already finding it easier to speak to the dog below them.
Chucking, Bo nodded. “Farm’s real easy once you get to know it, promise. As for the storm,” he started, warm eyes turning to Wonder. “Probably stop a little before sunrise. Clouds looked heavy still. More than ‘nuff snow for you to get yer fill.” He knew well it would be Wonder’s first true experience with snow. In truth he harbored some concerns for her health, what with being out in the cold for the storm, but he didn’t voice them. Knowing her, Alice would worry enough for the both of them.
“Sunrise?” The black cat echoed. That didn’t sound like she’d be able to leave in the morning. Rather, she could but it would be more trouble than it was worth. Though, some part of her was coming around to staying her longer than she’d initially intended, so perhaps it wouldn’t hurt. “Well, it’ll at least be better here - I spent my first leaf-bare alone and it was… trying.”
Vixen — The Forest, Vixen's Den | With Lotus whispering Vixen was no stranger to lousy days, but they hadn’t returned home injured in a long while, much less with anybody in tow. It was rarer still that they didn’t drive off whoever was in their company with whatever comments or jabs made it past their maw. This molly, though, despite the temper she clearly harbored stuck out his presence. For better or for worse. Given the turn of events, they supposed it could be both. Sure they were injured, but there was likely to be one less fox in the area to compete with - the cat was quite sure it wouldn’t survive long after being blinded.
Upon hearing her name, the feline gave a little nod of acknowledgement, turning their attention back the wounds stretching down their spine. They could have been worse, and they’d effectively cleaned what they could reach. Dressing it… well, they’d figure it out. They’d settled for cleaning any remaining blood from their shoulder as the other continued, drawing an amused huff from Vixen. “Didn’t ask you to be~ I fear we both value our solidarity too much for anything of the sort,” they mused. It was a stab in the dark, but at the very least they could speak for themselves. The sooner they were alone, the sooner they could relax and make a poor attempt at forgetting the morning’s tribulations. The cat could only imagine Lotus felt the same.
‘More snow coming.’ Pausing in their grooming, the ruddy cat glanced skyward. She was certainly right - it’d surely be snowing again by nightfall at the latest. “Very well - safe travels, then, Lotus. Until next time.”

Quinn forest treeline// with spackle soot
"I mean it. I'd be glad to meet a cat like you when I was that age." She went on, feeling the emotions begin to stir within her. No cat wanted to take her in that cold winter. Quinn was met with claws and cold shoulders. All she had left to turn to were her housefolk. But Spackle had run into three cats and made their lives worth something. How different would her life have been if she'd met a cat like him sooner? Perhaps, then, she wouldn't know the life of a kittypet at all. Not that she minded; she tolerated humans and their strange ways. But how different things would've been if she hadn't surrendered to the winter cold?
How long have you been here?
There was that question again. That painfully familiar question. The question that pried at the past life that she fought hard to forget about. "What, twolegplace? Probably three years now." She replied casually, keeping her eyes focused on the path ahead. She took note of their surroundings. The fallen branches littered the ground along the treeline. The melting icicles. The puddles of snow and slush. Patches of grass that peeked through the frozen substance. Spackle didn't know exactly how old Quinn was. Did he wonder where she'd lived before the three years she spent with her housefolk? Would he guess that she spent the first few months of her life on the other side of the stream? Or did he not care as much? Would he buy her vagueness? The gray-speckled tom wasn't very pushy. He was a curious creature, but he didn't pry, unlike the kittypets she spent her time with. "Scooped me up one cold winter, almost like this one."
✰✰✰
The inside of the cave was strangely welcoming. It was as if Smoke had been here before. The gentle trickling as the stream fled from its source, the gentle drips of condensation from above stalactite. The chill from the lack of sunlight was oddly comforting compared to winter's cold grip they felt before. And the whispers. They were even louder here; Smoke couldn't make out what they were saying, but he knew they were there. His ears strained to make out the voices, but nothing. It was as if many cats crowded in the cave with the group. He could feel their ghostly frames brushing against him, purring their greeting. And Pumaheart lived here, in this sacred place. The tabby looked around in pure awe, padding up to the stream to lap at the water, unable to suppress the adrenaline it provided him. Even the water was magical! He looked up, water dripping from his whiskers as the large molly began to answer their rush of questions.
Smoke's look of contentment faded to confusion, and he glanced between Percy to Crystal and back. Starclan knew the two would accompany them. Did they know Percy and he would stumble upon each other? That a simple mouse would start such a fateful bond between the toms? It seemed silly, but then again, Smoke was here because of dreams. Who was he to doubt their ancestor's will? Were Percy and Crystal descendants of the Clans as well? The thought made his heart race. What did the stars have in store for his relationship with Percy?
Rejoining the group, making his spot next to his ginger companion, Smoke tilted his head in confusion, "What exactly happened to the Clans? Why'd they all die out?"

Nimbus forest treeline// with spackle soot
The little Bengal tom had assumed this was just some fat, lazy ol' cat, just like the old molly a few houses down from him. She was easy to trick, believing Nimbus's clever tricks and made-up stories. He hadn't encountered any other cats before. A scary-looking stray once in the forest, but Nimbus had run home before the cat could even spot him. No strays often ventured into his small patch of territory. And there weren't many housecats, except the silly old molly he visited sometimes. No doubt, he'd thought, this she-cat would be no different. And how wrong he was.
His pale eyes grew wide as she she-cat drew nearer and nearer, challenging him. She was older and larger; she could easily beat him, not that Nimbus was particularly skilled fighting anyway. The only fighting he'd ever done was with the faux mouse his housefolk threw at him. Never an actual cat. And he could tell by her scarred ear this cat was not to be messed with. Hesitantly, the tom began to back away, his fur standing on end and fear-scent releasing from him. "I- I... I..." He stumbled into a drift in the snow, and a squeak escaped him, scrambling back to safety. Nimbus sat embarrassed, twisting around to smooth down his now-damp fur. No. He could not let this housecat see him this way! He was King Nimbus, and this was, technically, his territory. I'll show you to humiliate me!
The spotted cat spat defiance, leaping to his paws, "I don't have to prove anything! I visit here to renew my markings every day my housefolk leave, a-and if you don't believe me, I'll..." Gray eyes ricocheted, searching for something to prove his point. But then, an even better plan came to mind. His blue eyes lit up, "I'll show you where to find the juiciest prey around here."
Of course, Nimbus had never caught any prey around here. Once, he'd spotted a squirrel in his territory, but Nimbus was too slow to catch it. And there were plenty of birds in his garden... that he could see from the window. Hopefully, this was where the kittypet would draw the line. "Of course, I don't have to. Kings don't prove themselves to anyone, but since you're curious, I'll humor you."
✰✰✰
Lotus with vixen Myst
The tortoiseshell growled, "Hopefully there won't be a next time." Lotus preferred to avoid cats at all costs. Especially Vixen, now that she knew what a mouthful the cat was. A hairball she didn't want to ever have to face again. Though, it may have been smarter to stay here, at Vixen's den. She had quite a ways until she reached her patch of land. And the chill in the air alerted her of how close the snowfall was. A wise cat- less prideful- would take shelter here. And Lotus was wise, logical, but her pride would never allow her to stay here. She would make it to her den, she had to.
"Well, see you never, kitty." She sneered before retrieving the hare and setting off toward her den.
✰✰✰

Comet »
Comet was curious enough about the prospect of eating turtle that he followed Jack Frost for a few pawsteps before falling behind and coming to a stop altogether. From here he could just make out the waddle-crawl of a decent sized turtle just ahead. The creature was just meandering through the snow covered pine needles, either blissfully unaware that two cats were right beside it or simply nonchalant about the whole thing. Either way, Comet didn’t see the turtle being a problem to catch if it decided it wanted to try and run away. His stomach squeezed against itself before emitting a rumbling growl. His mouth began to water. A meal was so close now, and practically guaranteed. The tabby had never tried turtle before, but the longer he waited for food the more appetizing the new food began to sound.
And just like that, without a hitch, Jack Frost had the turtle in his jaws. Fur spiking excitedly, Comet rushed up to his new friend, purring. He was just about to ask how they were supposed to eat the turtle when Jack Frost pranced off toward a thicket of trees nearby. Curious, Comet followed along. If he was being honest he hadn’t even thought about the possibility of predators following after them. Perhaps he should have been…it was leaf-bare, after all. Every creature was hungry, and a hungry predator was more dangerous than a full fed one.
A loud crack! shot Comet out of his thoughts and almost out of his own skin as he jumped high in the air, a squeak of surprise slipping ungracefully off of his tongue. ”Ah! What was-” His question didn’t even finish itself as his eyes landed on a proud Jack Frost and a cracked turtle. Comet’s heart slowly returned back to a regular beat as he peered down at the turtle, its meat now exposed to both the elements and the two tomcats. His head tilted in wonder. ”You take first bite,” he mewed. Not only did he think Jack Frost deserved the first bite for killing the turtle, but he wanted to see exactly how the white tom went about eating the turtle before Comet himself tried to do so.
With a shrug, Jack Frost knelt down. Hooking a chunk of meat with a claw, he clamped his jaws around it and pulled the rest out. Down it went and a purr escaped from him. Turtle didn't taste like anything else he'd ever had. Maybe it was because it lived in and out of the water? But then again, so did frogs. Still, Jack Frost would take turtle over frog any day. Keeping a curious eye on his companion, he wondered what Comet thought.

(Killer may eventually be open to something. Frazzle has one potential so far. I'll probably just wait and see how things go during RP before deciding anything for sure. Killer finding love will be a big character builder for him. And Frazzle might need a lesson in commitment and responsibility before settling down. It all depends on the circumstances. :3 )

I'd say I have Milo, Honey, Dew and Kuta open for something - I think Vixen could be swayed after a considering about of effort putting up with their antics and learning the odd little ways they show they care, and for the time being Binx is so wrapped up in adjusting to the barn that it's not fully in the question for her

ohhhh that sounds fun!! Kuta is definitely the type to fall for soembody before he's even realized it's happened so he'd definitely find himself coming back all the time under the guise of 'it's definitely only because I feel like you'd do great in the clan c: no other reason c: '

Alice »
Alice wasn’t surprised in the slightest to hear that the snowstorm could continue on well into the morning. Just before making it back to the barn with Binx she had noted just how heavy and dark the clouds were becoming. Winter was upon them and it wanted to take hold of the land without mercy. Here at the barn winter wasn’t all that worrisome, but Alice couldn’t stop herself from casting a brief glance toward her sister, concern bubbling in the pit of her stomach. This was Wonder’s first winter outside. Yes, the hay barn provided warmth and more mice than a cat could eat, but sickness was still a threat. If Wonder caught something then the twolegs would surely treat her, but what if the treatment didn’t help, or what if her sickness wasn’t caught in time? Alice shifted on her paws, settling closer to the younger molly, tortoiseshell fur intermingling with calico. She used this action to disguise her uncertain thoughts, portraying her closeness to Wonder as merely offering the younger feline warmth.
Alice remained silent a moment longer, simply listening to Binx and Bo talk back and forth to one another before she chimed back into the conversation. Green eyes flashed toward Binx, a faint smile pulling at the edge of her lips. ”As I’ve said before, you’re more than welcome to stay here for as long as you need. The barn’s a sanctuary for those who need it so long as they don’t cause trouble.” It was true that Alice wasn’t the most welcoming of felines. The black and orange molly could be aloof and even intimidating around others, something she was acutely aware of, but she truly didn’t mind when newcomers ventured onto the farmland so long as they meant no harm. If some random cat tried to step paw into her territory with unsheathed claws then Alice would not tolerate such behavior. She’d fight back with all she had, and if for some reason her claws weren’t sharp enough she’d call in for any of the dogs knowing that they’d be there to help out if needed.
”I’m sure a leaf-bare alone wasn’t easy,” Alice replied coolly. For all of the hardships the tortoiseshell had faced, being alone during the colder moons had not been one of them. Even before living at the barn she had been with her mother. At least one other cat had always been at her side, whether it be blood family or the family she had made here at the barn. For as aloof towards others as she could be, Alice had never been a loner. Family had always been at her side, and if Binx decided she wanted to become a part of that family, then she was more than welcome. ”But as I’ve said,” she began once more, nodding toward the black molly she had found in the mountains just earlier this morning, ”you’re more than welcome to stay here for as long as you want. This leaf-bare might just be easier on you.”
Comet »
Eyes wide with awe, Comet watched as his newfound friend took the first bite of the turtle. Comet’s whiskers twitched, his tail swaying back and forth in observation. Silently he was waiting to see if the other tomcat made a face or gave any sort of indication that the turtle didn’t taste all that good, but Jack Frost’s face remained the same; in fact, Comet heard the rumbling of a purr coming from the white tomcat once he had finished his first bite of the turtle. ”Is it good?” He asked with his own purr, the question a rhetorical one really. He already knew the answer - Jack Frost wouldn’t be purring if the turtle didn’t taste good.
Not waiting for a response from the other tomcat, Comet crouched down and nuzzled alongside the turtle’s shell. Whiskers curled around the creature as he recalled how his friend had just taken a bite of the turtle. Easing his fangs into the meat, Comet pulled a piece of meat off the body and into his mouth where he then leaned forward and began to chew curiously upon the flesh.
He sat there silently, slowly chewing the meat, taking in the texture and flavor of the turtle; it was odd, something that he had never quite experienced before. The texture of the turtle meat was a tad bit rubbery, but not as bad as Comet had expected originally. In a way it reminded him of a fish, yet at the same time, the turtle was nothing like fish at all. Even the flavor was reminiscent of a fish, yet at the same time, nothing like a fish at all. Comet slowly swallowed the bite down, amazement and wonder still painted across his face. ”It’s interesting,” he mewed, looking at Jack Frost. ”It’s not bad, kinda like fish, but nothing like fish.” He was definitely going to eat more of the turtle after his companion had taken another bite, and if he thought about it, he’d try to save a few pieces to bring back to Star later. He wasn’t sure how his brother would like the taste of turtle, but it wouldn’t hurt to let him give it a try.

WonderLocation: Barn With: Alice and Binx ( Myst and Feathertalon ) Wonder felt a trill of happiness dance down her spine and her tail lifted in welcome as Binx accepted her offer. She was pleased to see Binx converse with Bo with a bit more ease. She knew how intimidating dogs could be with their large size and powerful stature, and she was happy to provide another cat with any form of peace or comfort. Her green gaze flicked back down at Bo after the pause in his voice and the two met gazes. Excitement flashed in her gaze. Tomorrow morning! Tomorrow morning she could finally explore snow! The sound of shuffling drew her attention to Alice as she came to settle closer. Her big sister’s fur brushed against hers, a warm protective wall against all the fears and dangers the world had to offer. She tried to meet her sister’s gaze, curious as to what her idol was thinking. Alice was always such a strong figure. Not only did the dark feline protect all the cats of the barn, but she took the time to look after her as well. Alice must have so many other more important things to think about. Wonder didn’t feel like she deserved such care and attention. But even so, the young molly was happy to accept any attention from her big sister. She pressed her head against Alice’s dark tortiseshell flank, nuzzling her big sister’s shoulder in appreciation. Wonder lifted her head when Alice addressed Binx. Her ears perked at the idea of Binx staying and she met the black molly’s eyes with a hopeful gaze. She might be awkward trying to converse with many of the cats in their big barn family, but she still loved them and was always happy when they could provide shelter or home for others. Sure… sometimes it made her nervous and even more awkward to make direct contact, but it was a small price to pay to provide a safe haven of sorts for cats who need it. And with Binx? Wonder might have messed up the first impression, but she felt that the tension between them didn’t feel nearly as thick. And it seemed Alice found ease in her company. Wonder was certain pretty black molly would fit right in once she got comfortable. Wonder’s stalkerish thoughts started to come to mind as she pondered how barn life might change once Binx joined their ranks. Where would she choose to sleep? Which cats would she choose to associate with? What would her favourite conversations be?

Kuta -- The Cave | With Crystal, Smoke, Percy & Pumaheart - 𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑢 whispering Feathertalon The same way he didn’t really question the information StarClan had given him, Kuta didn’t so much as think twice about her this she-cat seemed to know exactly who they were and what they were here for. All that was on his mind right now was getting answers and the fact that Crystal was still coming along with him. She would also guide him if the other’s words rang true. He could see it – she'd already guided him home some days ago after getting lost. As for the other pair, they seemed close enough.
Despite the curiosity bubbling within him when he realized he didn’t trully get an answer to his question, the tom merely listened as Pumaheart spoke. Some part of him didn’t really understand why they couldn’t receive these answers now, though his focus shifted some as she’d detailed just how long she’d been waiting for them. Was that to imply she’d lived in this cave since the beginning of her days? Did the ancient felines of season’s past whisper to her as well? He couldn’t necessarily imagine living here, but there was also something oddly cozy about the place. It well loved, the stone around them seeming to hum with the energy of those that came before. Perhaps it wasn’t so bad for her to have had to wait here of all places.
Smoke spoke up before he could, though asked the question that had been echoing in his mind. "It seemed like they were large groups based on what Crystal told me of her mother's stories - it couldn't have been predators, right?" Of course, he supposed it very well could have been. Though, of the many things that made little sense to him at this moment, the mere concept of an average predator wiping out a clan seemed unlikely. After all, he'd seen so many shades in his dreams.
After a moment, a thought came to him, one heavier than his typically run of the mill. "And... Why us? I mean, I don't speak for everyone else, but I just got here some days ago." For just a moment, it seemed Kuta was thinking outloud. As fun and great as this all seemed, he was suddenly very aware that he didn't know anything about, well, anything to do with the area. "Did StarClan tell you why it's us?"

Jack Frost's tail flicked back and forth with pleasure. He was happy to meet another cat who liked turtle; not that he met many who had even given it a try. At Comet's assessment, he laughed. "Well they only live some of their lives in water so that's likely part of it." Once the inside of the shell was cleared out, Jack Frost moves on to the limbs. He had to take smaller bites with how touch it was to chew sometimes, but he wasn't one to waste a speck of meat if he could help it. Marco had said once that the only good part of turtle was when Jack Frost spent a solid 5 minutes chewing a single bite. Both were exaggerations. Probably. Once finished, Jack Frost licked his muzzle, tilting his head slightly in a futile effort to reach the ends of his whiskers. With a sigh, he dabbed his paw and washed the last of it off. "We can probably find more if you want to give it whirl in cracking one open." And sharing with the others was probably a good idea, not that Marco would welcome turtle.
