[I'm going to set some disclaimers here-
1.) I wrote this at like, 1 in the morning at the time.
2.) I also just came back from writer's block at the time as well
3.) I haven't read Warriors in a hot minute, so they might be OOC
4.) I don't Beta Read my works usually, so there will be mistakes here.
With that being said, I would be open to criticism and hope you enjoy this mess lol.]

Smudge was laying down on the patio, resting in the rays of the sun. It was a nice day, considering that it was a clear day with no clouds in the sky, and a soft breeze that was dancing across the yard. The black and white tom felt relaxed, happy even. A smile would appear on his face as Smudge closed his eyes and placed his head down.
As the tom's mussels relaxed, he felt something press his nose. When Smudge opened his eyes, the kittypet noticed a light brown tabby she-cat with beautiful, green eyes who had a friendly smile standing in front of him. Smudge quickly scatter onto his paws, "Princess! I didn't expect you to come soon." The tabby would giggle, "My housefolk left early, so I just wanted to chat with a friend." The tom chuckled along with the she before frowning, looking down at his paws. He doesn't know how to explain it, but... Princess always felt like more than a friend ever since Rusty or Firestar left to join ThunderClan when they were younger. Maybe it's because the she-cat reminded him of her brother. Smudge did feel the same way about Rusty, but not as strong as he does feel about Princess.
The tom quickly snapped back to reality as he heard his name called out repeatedly, and lifted his head back up. "Smudge!" Princess yelled concernedly in his face, "Are you okay? You seem a bit down..." Smudge quickly nodded and stuttered, "Y-Yeah, I'm fine. I'm great in fact! W-Why wouldn't I be?" Princess meowed, "You never know, Smudge. But, if you're not upset, then you're great like you said." Princess smiled, causing Smudge to blush and make him feel...weird. Smudge then quickly got out of the state and trotted over towards the fence ; where he then jumped onto the post and sat on it. He heard Princess's voice echoed in his ears as the tom stared off into the distance sadly, "You miss him too, don't you?" Smudge sadly nodded as the view of what was a lush, green forest was more housefolk nests. It used to be Firestar's home, his clan's home, the clan's home. That was until housefolk destroyed the forest with weird, strange looking monsters. Though, the kittypet never knew the clans left the forest until Princess came over to his nest, and told him the news.
Smudge was heart-broken for a week, barely going outside. It wasn't until Princess noticed what was happening, where she finally took action, and cheered up the plump tom. Bringing him gifts, which were usually flowers, and talked to him about her personal life. "I do miss him, but I think I'm going to have to accept that sometime soon." Smudge mewed, "It's clear Firestar's never going to come back, and I know that. It's just..hard to let go of something that you lost a long time ago. Only to lose that thing again." The black and white kittypet felt a tail laying around his shoulder as Princess replied softly, "I understand you, I do. He was my brother. Now he's gone along with my son, Cloudtail. But, we have to move on at some point, like I did with them and Oliver. It's hard, but I know you'll get better someday. You know why?" "Why" "Because you have a big but strong heart, Smudge," Smudge turned around to reveal him blushing, and giving the tabby heart-felt eyes,"And I'll know you'll find something new to love. Whether that cat is close or a complete stranger to you."
Why can't this feeling go away? Smudge started to freeze up as the tom tried to speak, but kept stuttering his words. Suddenly, Princess licked him on the forehead with a loving smile before leaping off the fence. Smudge would soon follow her, stumbling on his paws. The she-cat would start her rant, "When we started to hang out more, I never felt so attached to a cat who was so kind as you were. At the time though, I had recently parted my ways with Oliver, and thought I would never fall in love again. As time went on however, I started to feel a certain way about you. That feeling was love and still is!" Smudge stood there and froze in shock as Princess continued with a smile, "I want you to be more than just a friend, Smudge! You're so kind, loyal, and caring! I hardly met cats like you. So, what do you say? Will you be my mate?"
Smudge sighed before meowing, "You know, I had the same thoughts about you. I had no idea what that feeling was, until today. That feeling, was love as well. You're so different from the others. So loving and caring! I love you Princess!" The kittypet would then step forward and rub the she-cat's body, "And yes, I will be your mate!"

"Do you have to go now?" Smudge asked in a whiny tone. Princess nodded, "Unfortunately, yes. My housefolk will return soon. I would stay longer if I could." Without another word, Princess would dash across the yard before climbing over the fence. The words, "See you soon, my love!" could be heard as the wind carried it over to the tom. Smudge then trotted towards his nest, as he said out loud, "See you soon, Princess."
