INTRODUCTION
Jackdaw woke with a jolt, the air suddenly being seized from his lungs as though he were caught between the jaws of a haphazard coyote. He reached out with one paw and pressed his claws against the earth in an attempt to settle his frazzled nerves. His raven coloured pelt bristled with a sense of anxiety - a senseless jolt of urgency. I had that dream again. His labored breathing did not settle for some minutes, his lungs heaved with a choked, ragged breath; something he had become accustomed too since his bout of illness nine moons ago. He felt his legs tremble as he pulled himself into a seated position, careful as to not wake his sister who slept with ease a tail-length away. Her tail twitched contentedly and her whiskers moved in a way that Jackdaw was familiar in seeing when she caught the scent of prey - she must be dreaming of a hunt.
The tom felt his shoulders slouch and he swept his envy aside. For the past moon his dreams had been plagued. It started seemingly simple, he remembered rather fondly, to the first time it happened. He sprang through the forest with kit-like youth, charging onward with no destination, only the blur of the brown and green forest in his sight... Until the next night he'd dreamed the same dream, instead of boundless energetic running, the world fell from beneath his paws, and he fell into freezing, dark water. As he struggled against the current that pulled him, he saw the shimmer of a cat above him moving effortlessly in the water - when he opened his mouth to cry for help he inhaled water, and then... awoke with a jolt. The dreams had become progressively more vivid and each time the shimmering cat appeared, their facial features hardly recognizable, their body too far to offer assistance.
Who are they...
It was hard to know if a figure that he suddenly dreamed of could have any importance or significance to his life. However... this time had felt different. He was aware he was dreaming, and his paws had stayed fixed in place. He knew only fear if he were to run in any direction - a rushing river, a monster speeding towards him, a tree falling and striking him, a wall of fire looming over... He no longer wanted to run. The forest around him had become eerily familiar - the ferns, the trees, the rocks. He vividly recalled taking a deep breath in his dream, deciding then that whatever had caused this occurrence could not truly hurt him - he would stay in this spot until he woke. To which his unconscious mind responded by disintegrating the lushness around him, each leaf and branch and rock crumbling away like ashes until he was left in nothing but darkness. His ears perked, hearing only the ringing of silence. His nose twitched, catching only the fragrance of cold winter air. He looked down to his paws and could not see his black pelt in the blackness of his surroundings. He was naught but a pair of yellow eyes blinking with fear and confusion alike. And then, for the first time... a voice, whispering ever so softly from behind: 'You have finally stopped running, Jackdaw.'
That was the moment he'd woken in a state of panic.
Calmed now, as he always eventually did, Jackdaw stood and padded away from his nest. The air was cold and frost glistened on every blade of grass in the moor. It was still dark, though dawn would soon be near. Lifting his chin, Jackdaw felt relief in the act of admiring the starry night sky. The stars twinkled, bringing beauty to an otherwise dull, black canvas. He was able to feel the curl of his lips as the delicate picture eased his nerves, a heartbeat later, his neck craned downwards as chesty coughs wrecked through his body. This winter air is no good for me. It was unmistakable that his last bout of illness had left him with this chronic cough and chest tightness - Jackdaw felt it increasingly. I've no time to worry about that though. Each time he did he was only reminded of the overwhelming anxiety associated with how his sister would survive without him.
On a deep inhale, eyes closed in an effort to soothe his nerves, Jackdaw slowly lifted his head towards the starry sky once more. Leisurely, his opened his eyes and felt them widen to the size of moons. In place of the beautiful starry sky, were thousands of gleaming eyes. Too shocked to move, he could only turned his gaze over each of them, watching as they blinked back at him. Wh-what is going on.
"It's time now, Jackdaw."
The voice from his dream!
"You are the descendant who will lead the Clans back to life."

PLOT
Many moons ago...
The two clans of the forest - SkyClan and SylvanClan - perished. A sudden, new illness left many cats dead and those who survived suffered power struggles and clan tensions as emotions ran high. Some left to avoid the illness. Some left to avoid the battles. Until there was no one left and the clans became a distant memory... and then, a mere story, that no rogue or kittypet could tell if it were true or if it was just that: a story.
This is the story of a cat who is destined to bring the Clans back together.
This is the story of the rogues, the loners, and the kittypets who all took the leap of faith and decided to embrace the life of the clans.
This is the story of the political struggle as leaders are selected, as territories are claimed.
This is the story of the friendships, the kinships, and the relationships that are formed along the way.
This is the story of the friendships, the kinships, and the relationships that are destroyed in the process.
This is the story of the restoration.
RULES - I would love for everyone to have at least one character with a significant role in the story. Please discuss with me if there is anything in particular you would like (i.e., an important clan position, an evil character, a side plot, etc).
- This RP is all inclusive and welcomes any and all keen roleplayers and characters.
- Activity can be hard to maintain (trust me, I know). I'll try and make an effort to be communicative - please do the same.
- There is no post length guidelines, write as much as you are inspired.

SYLVANCLAN
The cats of the forest.
Historically, SylvanClan cats preferred to gaze up at tree-covering, having a deep understanding and connection to the forest. SylvanClan cats also feel comfortable in the water, some may prefer to fish in the rivers as opposed to stalking prey in the undergrowth.

SKYCLAN The cats of the open sky.
SkyClan was given it's name for the fact that these cats prefer to live and hunt under open skies - toughing it out in the extreme weather as a result. SkyClan cats hunt on moorlands and in the rocky outcrops that define the base of the mountain where both clans settled many, many moons ago.

CATS At the start of this role play there are no clans yet. The clan building process is part of the plot and will happen overtime. That said, eventually there will be five clans, and when that time comes I will probably adjust this page to suit. For now, all the cats are simply their own.

DETAILS
☀️ 🍂 [ ❄️ ]🌼 Winter - leaf bare - has just started.
The territory is yet to be completely detailed out but we can all assume:
- The cats are all situated at the base of a mountain that goes from rocky outcrops and eases into moorland, forest land, and eventually twolegplace. - A stream runs from the mountains and separates the moors from the forest, it is cross-able with stepping stones, freezes over in the winter, but during rainy seasons it becomes dangerous to cross. - Twolegs (and kittypets) are situated at the bottom edges of the forest and outskirts of the moor. - To the left of the moor it becomes marshy and eventually becomes a pine forest.
Any and all questions are welcome, I'll be adding more to this as we move along.
CENSUS & RELATIONS

Jackdaw

It had been five sunrises since that fateful night. Still, it seemed, whenever Jackdaw would stare up at the twinkling night sky we was sure that the stars were blinking back. Since that first encounter, he'd had new encounters each night, and his understanding of his situation was gradually increasing. The molly who had watched him endlessly run from nightmares was someone who he now had become familiar with. Mistlestar was her name and she had spoken to him with a delicate tone, reminiscing on her experiences as the last leader to ever lead SylvanClan. He recalled vividly the way her icy blue gaze had faltered when she spoke about illness ravaging all those she loved - and eventually herself.
"You look like you've spoken with, uh, what was her name..." Hoot tilted her head and furrowed her brows in an effort to remember the foreign name that Jackdaw had mention. Although the name had escaped her, she was adequately aware of everything Jackdaw had learned, and although her instincts felt the situation odd, she trusted the fact that her brother was not one who made up stories or lied so carelessly.
"Mistlestar," Jackdaw meowed with the hints of amusement, "I did. She has a lot of knowledge about this forest... I've learned a lot about her ancient way of life." It felt peculiar to admit to his sister that a strange, starry cat was meeting him in his dreams... he'd considered not saying anything at all. Hoot's unwavering green eyes diminished any opportunity he may have had at hiding such a secret.
Hoot nodded with exaggerated motion, "Mistlestar, right..." moments of silence passed. Nothing but the rustling of leaves overhead and the movement of their paws on the earth. Finally, "What do you think she wants?"
It was difficult for Jackdaw himself to comprehend, though there was no sugar-coating the truth of it. "If I were willing... she would guide me to rebuild the Clans."
Momentarily, Hoot awaited the change in tone or a confirmation that Jackdaw's words were only said in jest. His eyes, yellow like full moons, were resolute. Suddenly, she felt more solemn then ever. "Will you do that?"
"I... I think I will."
Soon, the two raven coloured cats reached the stream. Jackdaw's breath began to crackle from the effort of the walk and he was thankful to bend down and soothe his throat with icy cold water. From the corner of her eyes, Hoot watched him, concern blossoming like a rose in her chest. No matter how tough he tried to be, she had seen his consistent decline in health for many moons now.
"Are you sure you shouldn't focus on yourself?" She murmured quietly, too softly for her brother to hear.
[ these two are at the stream on the forest side - they are open to any interaction! ]
Jay
With - [ Open ]
Location - [ Forest, near twoleg place ]
Tag - [ @ ]
Moving with expertise, one would be hard-pressed to be able to detect Jay as she stealthily maneuvered the undergrowth. Nearby, the fence line that separated the forest from the twolegs loomed, and she felt a sense of unease. It was not often that Jay opted for interaction with kittypets.Yet, when Jackdaw had looked at her with earnest passion she'd felt that familiar skip of her heart in her chest and - as coolly as she could manage - she promised she would help him.
I need help meeting new cats, I - well, it's a long story... Jackdaw had explained everything. As farfetched as it sounded, his conviction - and her affection - had her believing every word he said. When he mentioned that he would go to twoleg place, Hoot had interjected and claimed his cough had gotten worse and that he shouldn't go too far. How could Jay not offer to go in his place?
Now that she was there it occurred to her... how would she explain anything to any kittypet or rogue she stumbled across?
Sofie
With - [ Open ]
Location - [ Marsh ]
Tag - [ @ ]
Paw-pads slick with mud, Sofie trudged across the marsh land towards the moors. Rarely did she prefer to stay in one place for longer than necessary, and she had long overstayed her welcome in the outskirts of twoleg place. She felt her claws sink into the mud. This is why you should never get close to others. Her heart hurt with emotion unlike anything she'd felt before... there was no description to the feelings one felt when they found the one they were falling in love with lifeless on the the thunderpath. I told him to stay - I told him I was coming back! Her anguished thoughts sang repetitively like a record in her mind.
This was why the usually alert molly did not notice as she was pursued by a fox. It licked it's maw with delight, stalking it's prey. Once it was sure she would be in it's grasp, the fox gave chase. The thudding of feet in mud was rhythmic in Sofie's ears - almost a distraction from her own thoughts - until she was brought back to reality.
Almost a heartbeat too late, Sofie whipped towards the fox and ducked out of the way of it's snapping jaws. "Agh!" She cried, paws skidding from underneath, causing her to crash into the mud. Half dazed, she managed to roll from the next snap of the fox's teeth, it's breath warm enough to make her nose scrunch from it. She scrambled back to her feet and tried to create distance by bounding away, however the fox's increased size gave it an advantage in the mud. Without help, Sofie was going to be in trouble...

no worries Feathertalon! sleep is important so make sure you rest up! and percy coming to sofie's aid would work great - she def needs some help lol. i've set her up as someone who will be pretty hard to convince to join the clans given her tendencies to move around so much, and given her recent heartbreak (which can be expanded upon but essentially her almost-mate was hit by a car) she is feeling rather lost and astray in the world. ]

[ just gonna put these two up for the night and maybe do some more starters after work tomorrow man, poor sofie, i read her starter earlier and this girl has already been through it ;c Percy's here to (attempt) and save the day though. He's also in the same boat as Sofie when it comes to joining the Clans though, he's an odd one in that he loves being around others and thrives in groups like the little extrovert that he is, but being convinced to give up his loner lifestyle is going to be extremely tough. he loves the freedom that he has and doesn't like being chained to one place and one place only ] Percy »
It had been some time since Percy had last visited the marshland just to the left of the moor. It wasn’t that he didn’t like the feeling of mushy soil under his paws - in fact, Percy quite enjoyed being around water - if anything it was due to the fact that the marsh just felt so…stagnant, for lack of a better word. The air there was thick, the sounds were all the same, and the whole area just felt as if it were stuck in an endless heatwave that no cat could shake off. And yet, his paws were taking him there as if on a mission. The tomcat couldn’t say why he was so compelled to enter the muddy terrain, but a tightness in his chest and swiftness in his paws was telling him that he had avoided the area for far too long.
Soon enough the land was giving way to short grasses and large patches of mud where brackish water emerged from the ground below. As per usual the air was stiff, causing Percy to wrinkle his nose up in disgust. ”And why did I come here again…?” He grumbled to himself, stopping just as he was about to set his paws down in a dark brown puddle that didn’t even show his reflection. The tom’s tail twitched. His fur ruffled. Something had made him come here…he felt a tug to his paws, a calling in his head, and yet…
The typical song of frogs and bugs changed. That was odd. Percy’s tail twitched once again, this time out of uneasiness. Something about the marsh had suddenly changed; something about it felt sharper, deadlier even. There was an energy to the atmosphere that wasn’t always there - as if something big had put the whole area into motion.
A tremor passed through the young tom. Was that excitement that he felt? Was Percy actually excited to be in the marsh for once? He stood there on the edge of the marshland for a moment longer, drawing in a deep breath, his lungs expanding, his chest puffing out. Another tremor shivered down his spine. Something was different about the marsh today.
Acting only on impulse, the ginger and white tom dug his back paws into the ground and gathered all the energy he had into one large leap. In a matter of seconds he was charging through the marsh, zigzagging around reeds, jumping across puddles of shallow water, and practically gliding across felled trees. Nothing stopped him as he blurred through, a mere streak of orange and white as he darted forward. Laughter even began to bubble out from the tomcat. Had he ever laughed in the marsh before? Probably, Percy found even the stupidest of things to be hilarious, but he wasn’t sure he had ever laughed out here just because he was having fun and enjoying himself.
His joy didn’t even stop whenever he heard loud crashing coming from just ahead. Rather than stop and figure out what exactly was going on, Percy just continued, running with all his speed, laughter still trilling from him. The sound from just ahead grew louder, shriller, and yet he sped forward, soaking in the merriment of finding something new and interesting inside the usual stuffy marsh.
It wasn’t until the ruckus became clear to him that he skidded to a halt, paws slipping against the mud as he dug his back legs into the ground, doing all he could to stop himself, but by the time he had stopped it was already too late.
Just a few hops away was the fearsome sight of a cat - from here Percy couldn’t even tell what pelt color the other feline had - hared down by a fox, the creature snarling and yapping as it chased after the cat that was just too slow by all the mud under paw.
Rather than turn tail and run like any sane cat would - as this was a cat Percy was sure he did not know so why would he involve himself in the perils of a stranger? - the tabby tom bit back the fright that pounded in his chest and leaped forward, claws unsheathed and fangs bared. A hiss slipped off his tongue. ”Hey, over here!” He yowled, charging toward the fox in hopes of pulling its attention away from the other cat that clearly needed a helping paw right now.
Creamsicle »
with - open
Fear. Panic. Confusion. Uncertainty. Sorrow.
All of this and more was a swarm of bees inside of Creamsicle as she stumbled through a patch of thickets on the edges of the forest. These emotions were running rampant through her entire being, causing her small body to shiver and her paws to stumble any time they hit the ground. Hunger clenched her tight like the talons of a hawk that just would not let go, yet there was nothing Creamsicle could do about it. She didn’t know how to hunt, her mom had never taught her and her littermates how to before they were taken from her. She had still done all the hunting for them, generous enough to go out each and every day in an attempt to find a plump mouse or, if they were real lucky, a crow. But now Creamsicle didn’t have her momma or her littermates or anywhere warm to sleep or even any food. All she had was herself, and that scared her. She didn’t like it. She didn’t like it at all. The young kit just wanted to go back home, go back to the twolegplace and find somewhere to live, a place where the humans would be kind to her. While she wanted to go back home, she also didn’t want to return to the humans that had lived in the house she had been born in. They hadn’t been nice. They hadn’t cared for her or her siblings, or even her mother really, and if it hadn't been for them, if they would have just left her and her family alone, then…then…
A weak yelp of surprise came from the kit as she tripped over a stick, her small frame battering itself on the ground as she rolled a few lengths downward. She only stopped when she tumbled right into the trunk of a tree, slamming her side against the bark hard enough for it to force all the air out of her lungs.
She lay there in a daze. It felt like days before she was able to shakily get up to her paws, and by then she was done traveling. Any energy that the young cat might have had left was gone. Any hope that she’d be able to make it back to the twolegplace was gone. She was lost, hungry, alone, and scared. Everything in her world was wrong right now, and Creamsicle didn’t know how to fix it. She doubted she even could.
Battered, bruised, and defeated, little Creamsicle shuffled her way toward the nearest bush and flopped down to curl herself up in a tight ball. At only five moons old she had already lost hope, and her one last wish was that if something was supposed to happen to her, then she hoped for it to be quick and painless.

(Thanks!) (I hope this works. ^^) FrazzleLocation: Edge of the twoleg place / forest With: Jay or whomever :3 Though the day was cool, the sun was shining and Frazzle's stomach wasn't growling. Today was a good day in his books. Frazzle licked his lips as he padded along a dirt path. He could still taste the delicious morsel of cooked meat that had been graced upon him at the park. It was a gift from the two-leg kits he had befriended. He recalled all the stroking paws and cooing faces that blocked out the sun above and his skin tingled, as if he could still feel their touches. He shook himself from head to toe and stretched, barely pausing in his walk. "You gotta love those kits..." he mused to himself as he shook his head and looked up at the sky. But when there were that many of them, even Frazzle knew when it was time to take his leave. Perhaps he'd drop by again when it was more quiet. He hopped off the dirt path and into the grass that led to the forest. The further from the road, the taller and thicker the grass seemed to be. With a surge of playful energy, Frazzle began to leap through the grass almost like a deer. Then he stopped a few tail lengths in front of a row of posts with a final THUMP! He held his breath for a moment, his ears perking as he heard some sort of small critter dash further into the forest. His paws tingled with excitement as he approached the fence that marked the boundary of the forest. No matter how good life in the two-leg place could be, he always found himself drawn back here- ever since that day several moons ago when he first got lost. Since then, it had become a sort of tradition to visit the forest every once in a while. He took in a determined breath and slipped under the fence, stepping into the forest. ~~~ CottonLocation: Stream With: Creamsicle Leaf-bare was here. Cotton could feel it in her bones. In the ground. In the skies. In the decline of prey. But just as any other year, there was enough. As long as nothing changed, there should always be enough. Cotton was padding across the moor with deft, silent steps. A stream trickled and splashed not too far away. She caught scent of something and stilled, lowering herself to the ground. She crept forward until she saw it. It was a squirrel, inspecting something on the ground in that twitchy way squirrels have. It must have come from the forest on the other side of the stream. She continued to step forward lightly, waiting for just the right moment. As soon as the squirrel glanced up, she lunged forth in a full sprint, closing the remaining distance between them. The squirrel chittered in alarm and darted to the stream's edge and hopped over a series of stones to the other side. Cotton followed with no hesitation, fast and surefooted in her approach. She knew this land like the back of her paw, and that included the steppingstones. She knew that as soon as the squirrel made it to the first tree, it would be as good as gone. So she directed extra force into her haunches as she lunged off the final stone. She flew threw the air and pinned down the squirrel at the base of the first tree. She finished it off with a quick bite and stood there to catch her breath, satisfaction warming her pelt at catching her evasive dinner. Squirrel might not be the tastiest of meals, but it would serve its purpose well enough. She was about to bend down to pick up her prey when she caught another nearby scent. It was the scent of a cat- one that smelt of foul two-leg. A kittypet! She bit down a growl in her throat and crept quietly through the outskirts of the forest. She stopped at a particular bush that the scent was coming from and peered past the branches where she saw a huddled white figure. Her heart panged involuntarily, and her former disgust faded. It was a kit, and it did not look at all well. What was a kittypet kit doing so far away from the twoleg place? She lifted her muzzle and scented the air. She could smell no other cats. This kit was alone. Cotton stood there a while, frowning down into the bush. Whether or not the kit noticed her looming presence, Cotton remained silent, saying nothing. Then she did something very uncharacteristic of herself. She set the squirrel down beside the bush with a soft crunch. Then she padded a short distance away and sat down to groom herself.

Sofie
With - [ Percy ]
Location - [ Marsh ]
Had it not been for the surge of adrenaline that caused her heart to drum in chest like a woodpecker to a tree, the mollies burning muscles would have exhausted themselves swiftly amidst the whole affair. Sofie was, without a doubt, a well exercised cat whom was an efficient hunter - meaning she had a decently built frame. The mud, however, felt like quick-sand beneath her paws. Each movement required double the effort, a single paw step was not a simple flick of the left, it was a lifting and tugging motion to pull it from the squelching mire. Coupled with the fact that the brown sludge blanketed her entire pelt, its icy wetness touching down to her skin, she was beginning to lose hope of survival. The fox pressed at her heels, the mud posing less of an exhausting threat to the larger creature as it whipped to enclose its teeth into her tail.
Inevitably, her movements slowed eventually. Her eyes faltered, closing briefly, imagining a world in which she gave up... it seemed much easier then her reality.
Hey, over here!
Rowan? Her eyes flashed open and she turned towards the sound of it. She hadn't the spare seconds to be disappointed in the realization that it could never be Rowan who came to her aid. The flash of ginger and white pelting towards her and the fox also confirmed this - it was not the pale brown tabby she had become so attached too. Nonetheless, this new stranger had clearly come to aid her and she was not about to take his selfless act for granted. Momentarily she skidded in the mud, pivoting her direction so that she could run towards the newcomer. With two of them they may have the numbers to send the fox away. Even in her breathless state, it was worth trying at the very least.
Like clockwork, the fox charged towards Percy. Its beady amber eyes glittered ominously in contrast to the bared fangs and its mud-streaked underside. It was worth noting, however, that even the fox was beginning to lose pace in the effort of dragging it's paws through the marshland. Without hesitation, the fox lurched towards Percy.
Sofie's legs trembled, struggling to endure the stress of the chase. Clenching her jaw firmly she willed herself to stay standing - this situation was not over. Mustering the last of her strength, Sofie took a moment to inhale before turning back to watch the fox snap a little too close to the strangers face. In a blur of white fur and streaked mud, she moved behind the fox and began clawing at its haunches. The sludge between her claws left muddy stripes in the foxes bright orange coat, and it let out a shrill cry.
[ sounds like percy and sofie are similar in that aspect! will be interesting cx ]
Jay
With - [ Frazzle ]
Location - [ Forest, near twoleg place ]
Jay's paw steps slowed with hesitation as she drew closer and closer to the fence line. It towered over her in such a way that made the the forest - and herself - feel small by comparison. The world beyond was unlike anything she dared imagine, the idea of living amongst twolegs, eating their kibble and enjoying their touches was utterly foreign. I suppose for that same reason it seems rather futile to ask them to join us... She shuffled her paws anxiously in the leaf litter. Why would a kittypet who only knew their life on the other side of the fence listen to her? And once they had listened, why would they follow her?
Her paws began to betray her, inching backwards whilst her mind became flooded with thoughts - convincing herself that the entire endeavor was pointless.
That was until a white and ginger patched head popped out from under the fence, followed immediately by the rest of the kittypet. Caught off-guard, Jay blinked dumbly at the stranger for a heartbeat. Her jaws parted briefly in an attempt to speak only for no words to sound. She hadn't the chance to decide what to say!
Just be cordial, Jay. He is just a kittypet.
Dipping her head in a short, concise motion, she inspired the process of verbalizing by clearing her throat. "Sorry, I do not mean to be in the way here." she flicked her tail back and forth, "Don't mind me..."

(appearance is a mix between these two) FrazzleLocation: Edge of Forest With: Jay As soon as Frazzle emerged on the other side of the fence, he found himself face to face with a silver tabby. He halted and blinked dumbly, his eyes widening a little in surprise. In all his journeys, he rarely found himself coming across another cat beyond the twoleg place, much less right at the border. "Sorry, I do not mean to be in the way here. Don't mind me..."Frazzle didn't bother to contain an abrupt mrrow of amusement at the molly’s stiff words. His hazel eyes were gleaming with curiosity. He glanced from side to side, then back at the cat before him. What was she doing here? Was she waiting for something? For someone? Was she planning to go into the twoleg place? Frazzle took a couple steps to the side and waved his tail in the direction from whence he came. “Going somewhere?” he asked with a tilt of his head. ~~~ (Feathertalon - I hope you don’t mind that Frazzle looks a bit like Percy. ^^ Perhaps they are related somehow. :3)

[ replies are gonna be up after work! Light - I’m down for there being a relation between Percy and Frazzle c: I don’t think Percy is aware of any family members, so he probably wouldn’t know about Frazzle, but I do think it would be interesting for him to learn that he does have family somewhere! Maybe Frazzle knows more about his family than Percy does? ]

(Coniferous - Ooh. Frazzle is a friendly stray. He hangs around the two-leg place and the forest. He loves adventure, and while he seems to kind of go where the wind takes him, he is searching for mother and siblings while travels. Perhaps he’d know Razz from all his adventures, or could get to know Razz. (Frazz and Razz, lol) They are similar in age too. Frazzle is 17 moons.
Feathertalon - I was thinking Frazzle was born from a loner and a kitty pet. Perhaps his mother (the loner) could have been a sibling of Percy? Or something like that. :3 He got separated from his family during a dog chase, and lost his way back home. By the time he found his way back to their previously abandoned house porch several moons later, they had moved on. )
(Also, if anyone wants to have a grumpy brown molly as their mother for the sake of background, let me know (she’s 78 moons). ^^ Cotton is a pain in the neck to deal with and lives on the moor, and the story would probably be that the kits grew up and moved on to find their own places to hunt and live (maybe to get away from their overbearing mother too. XD).)

[ i really like the idea of percy being an uncle! perhaps percy recognizes some features on frazzle that are similar to his sister's looks and a connection is made from there? and once that connection is made Percy is going to be adamant that the two stick with one another because while he loves his loner lifestyle, he also has a deep loyalty to any and all family he has ] Percy »
Was it idiotic to charge directly at an angry fox? Oh, for sure. Was it stupid to be risking his life to help some other cat he didn’t even know? Perhaps, but here he was anyway, doing just that. Percy was a lot of things, but he couldn’t just stand around when there was another cat in danger. If he just left this unknown feline now he knew his mind would be plagued with images of her hypothetical death for the rest of his natural life. It would be too heavy of a burden for his shoulders, and Percy would much rather keep his shoulders free of any unneeded weight.
The fox spun after him, jaws wide open in an attempt to grab him. Fortunately, Percy was quicker than the fox, his paws having yet to sink into the mud that made up the ground underneath. He leaped out of the way, feeling hot breath ruffle the very edges of the fur along his flank. It had been some time since Percy had unsheathed his claws for a fight - the ginger and white tom wasn’t much of a fighter, only throwing himself into combat if absolutely necessary.
He lashed out with his front paw, hoping to get in a strike. Whether or not he did was unknown to him as he jerked to the left right after, barely missing the fox’s canines as it went after his face. ”Ya know, we don’t have to fight!” He yowled at the fox as if the fox could understand him. ”We could all just be friends, or you could at least run away. Make this a lot easier for all of us involved!” It wasn’t long after he had shouted those words that a white and brown flash out of the corner of his eyes grabbed his attention. Percy stood still, catching his breath, as he watched the stranger lunge toward their adversary. The tom chuffed as he exhaled. The shrill cry of the other cat landing a hit on the fox brought forth a new surge of energy through him. He pushed himself up into the air, leaping toward the enemy, hoping that he could land in such a way that he’d get a good blow in and send this fox running back from where it came from.
Creamsicle »
Eventually Creamsicle was able to close her eyes. She shut them tight, unwilling to let them reopen for anything. Doubt flickered inside her as a fire would. This bush was going to be the last place she would ever go. It would be her final resting place.
Had some cat asked her how she saw her life just a few days again then she would have had hoped for herself. Her answer would have been totally different than what her answer would be right now. Creamsicle would have had said that she hoped to grow into a big, strong cat so that one day she could be just like her momma - a brave and selfless feline that could hunt for herself and the kits she potentially could have once she was older. Now she didn’t think she would survive for much longer. The coming days were her last. For all she knew this morning’s cold dawn would be her very last.
Winter’s chill brushed across her fur as a breeze picked up. Even among the bush Creamsicle could feel the cold, her fur instinctively fluffing in a vain attempt to keep her small body warm.
She lay there long enough to start to doze off despite the cold - exhaustion and sorrow had done their toll on the young cat and now it was pulling at her eyes, making them heavier and heavier, while also making her body numb, as if she were somehow both made out of solid rock but also made out of soft clouds. There was no energy left in her to question the sensation.
Almost as soon as she was starting to really drift off a sound prodded the edges of her hearing. Creamsicle’s ears perked while her eyes remained closed. She didn’t move. Even if she wanted to move she doubted her body would make it far. Perhaps this was the end she had hoped for after tumbling over to this bush. In her short moons of life she had heard tales of dangerous creatures that lurked beyond the twolegplace, deadly with the taste of cat blood upon their tongue. She vaguely remembered her mother once coming back to her and her littermates ruffled and scratched - the queen had said little about what had happened other than that she had run into a nasty old tom. Creamsicle remembered being shocked to learn that even other cats would turn on their own kind. The world was harsh, and Creamsicle was just another victim of reality.
She continued to lay there with eyes closed; however, her ears remained alert, listening to the noises of whatever was just outside the bush she had huddled into. Based on the scent coming through she was sure it was another cat, but why was this other cat just standing out there? Perhaps they were going over all the different ways they could hurt a defenseless kit. Once again the mostly white kit thought back to the time her mother had mentioned running into a nasty tomcat. Clearly her mother hadn’t died during that run in, but she had been a full grown cat with the skills to show for it. Creamsicle was just a kit without a drop of survival knowledge. Whatever this cat was going to do to her she’d be helpless to stop it.
Longer and longer she waited, and still nothing. A thump from nearby startled her, fear coursing through her. Out of instinct her eyes opened wide as the fur along her spine and tail bristled like pine needles. She expected to see the cat looming over her with fangs bared, and yet all she saw was…
Wait.
Was that…? Was that really…?
Fear turned to confusion as blue eyes landed on the still limp form of a squirrel.
How…how did that get there…?
Creamsicle blinked. She stared at the squirrel. Was this some kind of twisted game that this cat was playing? She could tell that the cat was still nearby, but why had it left the squirrel it must have just caught in front of her?
Wearily and against her better judgment, the kit spoke up, her voice hoarse and soft, a mere whisper. ”E-excuse me…did…did you dr-drop…a squirrel?” The young kit’s words faltered over one another, but she couldn’t help it. She was scared and in a simply pitiful state, what else was she supposed to do?

Sofie
With - [ Percy ]
Location - [ Marsh ]
Was this stranger trying to reason with a fox? Was a thought that had lingered in the back of Sofie's mind. To scream or shout and call the fox obscenities was one thing... asking it to be friends was something that she certainly had never heard another cat say. There was hardly a spare moment to stop and contemplate the oddities of the ginger and white tom, however, before she'd leapt into battle.
Sofie clamped her jaw around the thinnest part of the foxes ankles, her face scrunching with distaste as the flavours of the bog blanketed her tongue. In response, the fox cried and tried to shake her off - an action that only caused her to clamp down harder as she fell off-balance.
The weight of Percy hitting the larger mammal in parallel to the foxes leg being trapped was enough to knock it from its feet. As it's legs flailed in the air Sofie's grip loosened and she fell with it, hitting the ground a tail-length from the predator. Air whooshed from her lungs upon impact, a feeble cough escaped her as she gasped to fill her body with much needed oxygen.
Red tufts of fur stirring in the corner of her vision was enough for Sofie to pull herself up, her breath escaping her in the form of a determined hiss as she forced her burning muscles to perform one last miracle for the sake of survival. She didn't have the excess energy or air to verbalize herself to the stranger so she did the next best thing. She ran towards him and headbutted his flank, quick run this way before she continued towards the treeline. Hopefully the damage she'd done to the foxes leg would be enough for it to give up on it's chase... she dared not look back just yet.
Jay
With - [ Frazzle ]
Location - [ Forest, near twoleg place ]
Momentarily, Jay's ears flicked awkwardly, despite her frivolous back and forth within her mind she hadn't been prepared to actually... meet someone. Her piercing blue eyes watched carefully as he navigated to the side, her exterior remained relatively cool and collected, she was generally quite good at hiding her emotions in such a way.
She didn't exactly have a response to his nosy question. Torn as ever between the purpose of her outing (to gather informants) and the urge to avoid the interaction altogether, she took a steadying breath and decided for once in her life... to take the risk.
"Not exactly..." How to bring up the topic of conversation naturally - without sounding like someone who was mousebrained... "I've been endeavoring to meet more cats within the area." It seemed reasonable enough, "I didn't expect to see anyone here, though. Are you a kittypet?" Her eyes flicked between him and the gap beneath the fence as she asked, insinuating that she'd made the assumption based on the fact he'd exited from twolegplace.

(That sounds perfect, haha. I love it. ^^) CottonLocation: Edge of Forest (Near the stream) With: Creamsicle Cotton paused midlick, her ears perking and twitching towards the quiet voice. So the kit was awake after all. She had wondered how long it would take before the tiny thing decided to stir. Or if it even would. Hearing how weak the kit’s voice was made her skin crawl. A kit her age should be with her mother, not lying alone and half dead in a bush. She suppressed a growl and let out a deep sigh instead, shifting into a more comfortable position. “Yes, tiny one. I did,” she replied matter of factly, her tail flicking demurely. “A pity, really. This squirrel is too small and unappetizing for me,” she explained with a sigh and slow shake of her head. The squirrel was smaller than some, but was big enough to have made a decent meal. “Perhaps some hapless kit will find it to their liking.”~~~ (Thanks! ^^) FrazzleLocation: Edge of Forest With: Jay Frazzle noted the intensity of Jay’s blue gaze upon him as he moved. She was watching him carefully, but the young tom didn’t flinch under her gaze. He merely watched the composed molly in return with bright eyes, finding it all too exciting that he found a cat who smelt of wild things and that she was willing to talk. He listened as she spoke, his ears pricked forward as he hung on to every word. That was until one word came from her mouth.
“Kittypet....” he echoed, closing his eyes for a moment as he thought back. His mother used to use that word to describe housecats. It had been an awfully long time since he last heard that word. “No,” he replied at last, opening his eyes. “I’m not. The kittypet life is too small for me, y’know?” The kittypets he’d come across in his journeys would sometimes tell him stories of their livelihood. Stuck in a house half the time, being fed brown pellets each day. Once a family had tried to take him in. In all his curiosity, the bigger twolegs seemed to get quite upset with him. They would interrupt his business and would fret over the trails of fur he left behind in their home. The first chance he got, Frazzle left for the outside world. He returned once to leave a parting gift on their doorstep; it was a mouse he had caught in the twolegplace. The twolegs seemed to accept this, and they quit trying to take him into their home. To this day, they sometimes they set food for him in case he ever happened to drop by. He much preferred the freedom to be able to come and go to and from the twolegs and twolegplace as he pleased. Taking note of the direction of her look, he glanced back under the fence. "I do like to travel around the twoleg place though. There's always something happening and so many things to explore," he explained, turning back to look at the silver tabby. "Sometimes I can find myself some tasty snacks," he added, licking his lips. He did a short stretch and sat down, his tail curling around his paws as he pondered her earlier explanation. It seemed a little odd, looking for other cats while not expecting to find them. But he decided not to comment on it for now. Perhaps she was just travelling around like he often did.
