Since Clangen is popular nowadays, I may have been thinking about basing a roleplay on that idea. It won't be a huge high-stakes roleplay, but I like the idea of having a main plot to keep the clan going. Possibly with a set end and player engagement points to keep it running until the end - or a sandbox kind of roleplay, either goes. Maybe a mix of both. I'll be putting up a poll to see what territory is the most popular. The base idea is probably: 2 clans, with 10 cats per clan a la Clangen rules. (History reasons for why 10 cats per clan at the moment needs brainstorming - a natural disaster? an epidemic? a war? If a war, between the clans or with an outside group? Perhaps one of the clans is significantly newer?) One person can have up to two character in each clan. (So 4 characters total) Limit put here mostly to allow for more different player character interactions in such a limited setting. Brainstorm points: - High tensions in 1 of the clans at the moment for conflict. (Reason also needs brainstorming. Maybe a cat escaped the clan to another clan?)
- clans should have similar and different culture points.

I did consider actually generating all 20 cats but I think that'd limit people a lot? I personally like having limits put on so that I can go creative with the character itself but I understand it's not for everyone

I also kiiiiinda want a prompt style thing where I spin a wheel to see what a patrol encounters (like a type of prey / predator if hunting, types of herbs or not if herb gathering, loner or rogue meetings if border patrol, random if just general patrol). That would require me to be online often, but I think I can manage that through the months of july-august.

I don't mind having limits for the same reason ^^; but I know there are people who don't do well with them and others who do.
I like the idea of a prompt style o: it'd be more randomly chosen, I think? The forums aren't too fast or super active, so there wouldn't be much to worry about being unable to manage it.

heyyyyy if you're interested, there's some precedent for this already~ Apparently in the clangen discord where you can share Clans, there's a bunch of "claim-a-cat" groups which used to be rps (but they banned rp, dunno why there) but something similar could work here on the slower-paced forums
Basically, someone is in charge of running the Clangen, and each moon they give each player any interactions that happen with their cat, which they are allowed to narrate individually and rp the relationship scenes between players. Then patrols go out and those are the scenarios that are rp'd. It gives it a lot more structure, true, but it does spin it so that the character's actions and relationships are the primary focus instead of the plot. It also pushes plot forward so that players don't sit around debating it for ages or make only mild plots to appease many players instead of what would cause drama
I'd totally be down to do something like this (and I wouldn't mind running the Clangen and giving out the moon-by-moon screenshots if that's too much for you; I have nothing but time on my hands for at least the next few weeks)

As much as I appreciate your offer I’m not sure if people would like that much structure? I think it would be interesting to pre-assign relationships beforehand though 🤔

Aw thank you for the enthusiasm!
I might have it that people can choose what kind of specific skill you have as a cat? Restricting that would make it iffy for new people to join. (within reason, of course. I can't have 10 dreamwalkers walking around in a 10 cat clan)
I also think that a war might make it for easy explanation for why the clan split. Specifics definitely need to be done, but I hope that all original 20 can be to some degree key characters in the plot overall.
