How do you feel about him and his attitude? Personally, I throughly enjoyed his personality in the first half of the first book. He came across as a giddy, cute cat. Later, I think his actions were horrible but may be have been due to deep emotional stress from all the loss he had experienced. He does prove himself but he is kind of pushy and I think it is to prevent loss. He may be depressed. I really like the job that Erin Hunter did with his character development. It allows me to provide insights on his character for myself which make the world so much more special.

Love him as a villain, hate how his "redemption" is handled.

One of my favorite characters.
I prefer Cherith's Clear Sky over Kate's Clear Sky.

Hate him and thought his redemption was done badly.
Would love Clear Sky/Skystar though if he had stayed an antagonist/been turned into a full on villain (same with Star Flower).

Excellent antagonist. How they handled his redemption?… laughable. They should have kept him as the main antagonist through the whole arc. Instead of wasting time on villains that are barely serviceable, or just plain forgettable at best. I think redeeming him in the later half really botched his character. And don’t think they really had a good idea on how to make Clear Sky flip from an atrocious hell spawn, to an upstanding leader in a manner that’d he believable, or made a small amount of sense.

I think too the problem is that, in my opinion at least, Clear Sky caused such horrible atrocities that I think it's stupid that they would redeem/forgive him in the first place. He wasn't just an asshole who verbally antagonized others. He actively kills former friends/tribe mates. Cats that were to be considered family among himself and those he grew up with. I would never forgive someone for that or see them as anything but a monster after that.

He is my favorite pov of the Dawn of the Clans pov characters. As an overall character I am on the border of neutral/like. Same thing with Gray Wing and Thunder. Again overall there are only three characters I dislike and they are Needletail, Rainflower, and Lightleap.

He’s an interesting character, but not interesting in a way that I enjoy.
