(Sorry for not posting. Lost motivation for a while plus being busy) Michael gives her a polite nod. "Anytime Selene." He answered giving her a small grin. "Were you going to walk to the Sheriffs office?" He questioned wondering if she would need a ride over there. (LOL you're fine! Life gets busy) Now that she had not thought about. Selene looked down the road, feeling that the walk wouldn't be so bad in theory. Maybe she could have taken a chance in walking in her wolf form. The more the thought of the logistics, she had a feeling someone would take issue with it. "I could use a ride, if you're offering." she looked back to him. She dusted off her pants and walked alongside the road. "We have any new members I should take special notes for? Or any I need to put a little fear into?" The last part was more of a joke, but she liked to keep the new recruits on their toes. |

Maria chuckled as she looked at her brother Leon kinda freak a little bit at the idea of seeing a dragon potentially. However, her smile soon left her face, knowing there was a bigger fish to fry. "If I you are going to go find mister Javalle, then I wanna come with you," she said determinately. "I doubt dad would let you come along." Lexa answered as she crosses her arms over her chest. "Besides, you might not want to come along. I have a feeling dad is going to act all tough and demand answers out of him." She honestly hoped that they wouldn't be able to find Javelle. She had no clue how deep in the woods Javelle could be. |

One of the pages Jack found made him raise an eyebrow. He had been thumbing through the delicate pages, yellowed with age, to see if anything stood out. Well, needless to say, something did. This book was certainly written by someone who had either studied werewolves extensively or had hunted them. Two passages stood out to him the most:
” In folklore, silver was commonly thought to have mystic powers: for example, a bullet cast from silver is often supposed in such folklore the only weapon that is effective against a werewolf, witch, or other monsters. Silver in many customs and folklores have described or at least depicted the metal as something pure. Contact with silver to a werewolf, while not fatal, is painful.”
And…
“ In medieval Europe, traditionally, there are three methods one can use to cure a victim of lycanthropy; medicinally (usually via the use of wolfsbane), surgically, or by exorcism. However, many of the cures advocated by medieval medical practitioners proved fatal to the patients. A Sicilian belief of Arabic origin holds that a werewolf can be cured of its ailment by striking it on the forehead or scalp with a knife. Another belief from the same culture involves the piercing of the werewolf's hands with nails. Sometimes, less extreme methods were used. In the German lowland of Schleswig-Holstein, a werewolf could be cured if one were to simply address it three times by its Christian name, while one Danish belief holds that merely scolding a werewolf will cure it.”
Those “remedies”, as the section was labeled (the author didn’t seem confident), seemed a little… extreme? Barbaric? The German and Danish ones were particularly ridiculous. What would he do? Have Adeline say “Jack” three times hoping he’ll be cure? Or have her hit his snout with a rolled up newspaper like a dog that peed all over the rug the next time he shifts? The Danish must have had a death wish… But maybe they can try wolfbane? It did have “bane in it’s name, that had to be a lead, right?
Adeline and Javalle’s voices pulled his attention away from the dusty old book and he promptly, yet carefully closed it shut, wandering back over to them.
(Passages stolen straight from Wikipedia, by the way. Added that last two sentences of the first one though.)

Maria couldn't believe that her big sister was saying she wouldn't let her come along. But that doesn't make sense! Out of all of the she was the only one who has been to his house! Puffing out her cheeks in anger she jumped to her feet and angrily said, "That's not fair. Mister Javalle is my friend, and the one who helped me, he doesn't deserve to be treated like her did anything wrong by dad." Crossing her arms she whispered, "I can't believe you all are being such jerks." As soon as she said that all she could do was pray that neither of her siblings heard that. Honestly, Lexa was almost as scary as her father when mad.
Juno, I hope you know that as a historian, saying you stole from wikipedia hurt my soul a tiny bit. Though I don't think any less of you I promise. Okay, I hope you can tell that I am just playing, cause now I feel like might have come off as mean, which if I did please tell me and I will apologize.)

(Welcome back Juno! Javalle would be both disappointed and appalled by the fact that a book directly copied information from sketchy Wikipedia haha- He's probably say something like, "if you're going to write accounts, at least source them properly." I personally find it very humorous! The Wikipedia use gets a pass from me since all the werewolf mythology is rooted in folklore and has little to no substance in the real world. Albeit a very low passing score  ) |

Lexa frowned using her finger to rub her head. She takes a moment to collect her thoughts before speaking once more. "I'm just trying to spare you from getting into anymore trouble."
"Why do you care so much?" Leon asked tilting his head slightly to the side. He had never seen his sister so upset. "I know he helped you but what makes him special? Is he like really hot or something?" This caused Lexa to turn to give a look but Leon just ignores her.

Michael moves his hands into his pockets as he walked. "Well, there is one guy, his name is Jack I think. He's a quiet guy who mainly keeps to himself. He got attacked by one of the rogues and Delvin was the one who found him. He's a strange one cause his leg still hasn't properly healed." He wasn't really sure why that leg never healed as it should. "He's harmless but I can tell he doesn't like the idea of being a shifter."

Maria's jaw dropped when Leon asked if Javalle was hot or something. Sorry, what! Her faced turned scarlet as she growled at her brother. She grabbed some of the manga that she had on the side table next to her bed, and started throwing it at him. "I am not so love sick puppy you big jerk!" she screeched at her older brother. "He is my friend, and a way better big brother figure then you apparently."

Leon swift dodged the manga that was thrown his away, surprised by Maria's outburst. Lexa looked just as surprised as he was. "Easy Maria I was just joking around. I didn't mean anything by it. You know I don't think my thoughts through." Sometimes, he spent far to much time out in the forest just saying whatever came to his mind.
Lexa decides to take this chance to walk a little closer to Maria. "Regardless, I'll make sure no harm comes to your friend. If we end up finding him, dad will probably just try to scare him before coming back home. Heck if we're lucky we might not even find where he lives."

Maria growled slightly at her older brother. "Maybe you should take your head out of the forest and practice manners then Leon," she bemoaned. Really, he needed to learn to to say everything that came to mind, it was going to get him in hot water some day. Turning to her older sister she grumbled, "I just don't want dad to make me loss another friend. Is that so bad?"

ᓚᘏᗢ The blonde took a cursory glance towards where Jack had gone off to. Looking at the plethora of books at his disposal. Adeline is sure there's something here that holds some truth to it, well, she hopes so anyway. Society, as hidden from.. werewolves truly existing as they are, can't be that far off the mark of what's accurate, right? Shuffling the thoughts of internal dilemma and a few ' wtfs' for later, she turns her eyes back towards the other person in their company. Adeline seemed to almost 'puff up' like a bird would in distress- " Oh- shoot. Not just your fault," She says quickly, a little too quickly, trying to wave away any of the man's embarrassment he needn't have. She reaches an idle ( clean, non l ifeblood covered-) hand up to offer it in an official greeting. "Sorry- uh, I'm Adeline, It's nice to meet you." She says, giving a small smile, her hands somewhat less shaky as she forcefully as many current multitudes of pure distress- away, to be polite. (Oh dear, sorry for the way late response! I totally didn't get that up when I said I would, woopsi. I got super busy! Anyway, hope ya'll are doing well, and I'm excited to continue!) |

(Hey, welcome back soot I know it's only been a week but it's good to hear from you again! Adeline's responses are always a joy to read! I'm going to be a bit busy this week getting situated with a new job but I should have plenty of time to write with enough motivation. I've been writing a lot but I'm just not fully satisfied sometimes. I try to keep out of that mindset though. Expect something from me Friday at the latest! Junospower quick confirmation before I frame my next response- is Jack staying where he is? Is so, then I'll start moving Javalle and Adeline over to the labs! Maybe Javalle could convince him but unsuccessfully - it's up to you!) |

I need to refrain from Javalle asking too much about the book in case Adeline catches on about him being a shifter too- she may just have a heart attack. Selene nodded a bit in thought, "Well, if you've tolerated him for this long, he doesn't sound too bad." She couldn't imagine the thought of being turned, not when she basically grew up her whole life knowing what she was. It would be an adjustment period, but nothing the pack couldn't handle. "Alright, so which car is yours?" she glanced back to Michael, now catching sight of a strip of cars in a row along one of the quiet streets. |
