Maria watched as Javalle promoted her to start heading out so she could get home. A small frown plastered itself on her face thinking about how today was about to go. She really was not looking forward to getting back to her siblings. Oh those two will tease her maliciously. Let’s not even talk about her parents, she would be lucky to see the outside world again by her hundredth birthday. Sighing she just started following her companion/guardian.
As she left the cabin Maria just looked at the now light forest. She had to admit it was not as scary as it was during the night. This place was still evil and her big brother was crazy for loving this forsaken place.
As they walked a familiar scent hit her noise, and it made her heart sink. She knew that scent well, it was her big sister Lexa’s. Oh come on, will this forest just not be mean to her for five minutes. Like seriously what did she do to make this place hate her so much? What forest spirit did she anger so badly that it has to send all this stuff at her? Okay think Maria, your big sister is right there more than likely looking for you what is the play here? She got it, inch away like the coward she is and pray she isn’t noticed by Lexa. As she took a hesitant she stepped on a twig and snapped it. Oh cruel fate, why art thou such a cruel mistress?

Lexa whips her head to the sound of a twig breaking. She lets out a small growl still on edge because of the rogue attack from earlier. "Reveal yourself!" She called out as she slowly rises to her paws. The wind was blowing away from them so she couldn't quite make out the scent.

Great Sage thought time to expand the puzzle. All of a sudden she heard a small Snap! And smells the air as Lexa shouts, demanding they reveal themselves, Sage got to her own feet, ready to fight if needed, but even now she had no idea how she would fight. Her fox form still hadn't reveald everything about itself yet. Eep! the thought of being attacked when she could not defend herself suprised her, she felt her fur tingle, and even though she did not know it, she had become almost invisble with her surroundings.

Maria let out a small yip when her older yelled at her and Javalle to reveal themselves. Okay what now? Run, no she would catch her with very little effort. Hide, no she would just sniff her out. Not to mentioned bidding would just risk her sister lashing out thinking they were a threat. Come on brain think, what should she do. Looking at her feline companion she gulped before walking past him. “W-were not a threat.” She hesitantly said trying to make herself known without outright walking into view.

Lexa realizes who it was and rushes up to her. "Maria! Where have you been? Mom is worried sick about you! After the rogue attack, we couldn't find you and we were worried that they might have taken you or done something awful!" She soon realizes there is another scent there and looks towards the stranger. "And who is this?"

Javalle stood still as a stone, submerging themselves into the forested cover, waiting for the opportunity to make himself known until SNAP! A twig broke the unwavering silence, followed by a demanding voice asking the unlikely pair to reveal themselves. Javalle winced internally as Maria strode past, clearly the younger werewolf was more confident talking to the members of the pack.
"I don't mean any trouble either. My name is Javalle, and I'm a shifter much like you." A clumsy introduction, but a decent start. "Normally I keep to myself to my own territory, but last night I found Maria wandering about. She appeared lost so I allowed her to spend the night with me and bring her back as soon as I could. "

"Uhmm.. so these people are nice?" Sage asked, even though she was still clearly invisible, "Who are they.. and why do you seem so worried?" Sage was curious of these new people and trotted up to Lexa, "why were you watching us," her gaze was puzzled but still no one could see it.

Lexa takes a few sniffs before recognizing that he was a were-lynx. She watches him for a few minutes before nodding her head to him. "Thank you for looking out for her. The pack was unfortunately distracted last night." She turns her head to look at Sage. "For one thing that girl over there is my sister and this is Javelle a lone shifter."

Maria jumped back a little bit as Lexa ran up to her and started talking a lot. She felt bad at scaring their mom, especially since that meant that when she got home she was so in trouble. “I-I am fine sis, I just happened to get lost last night and that’s all. I was perfectly calm and didn’t freak out at all.” She claimed, lying through her teeth. She then looked at Javalle and said, “T-that is mister Javalle, he gave me a place to stay last night and these cloths since I lost mine with the shift.” Maria really wanted all this attention off her and Javalle. Suddenly her attention shifted to Sage as she spoke. “Who is that with you big sis?”

Adeline brought her hands up to sit crossed loosely over her stomach, not quite wanting to keep her hands in her pockets. Or swinging at her sides. She.. can't quite tell what the expression on his face translates to, but she feels like she can somehow relate. And.. she proceeds to bring a hand up to cover her mouth at his admission, trying and likely failing to cover her snort. That sentence is.. horrifically relatable. "Oh- no.. " She stifles a laugh. " That- that's terrible, because I nearly did the same exact thing on a Physical Biology test. I get really.. weird when I drink too much coffee. Like tired, but also hyper at the same time..? I zoned out for almost half the testing time?" She says, cringing slightly at the memory. Well, it couldn't have been too bad considering she got a straight %100 plus a little note saying that her teacher might use her as an example for later classes. (Ahk! Sorry for such a late response. My recent days decided to get super busy ^^')

Lexa turned to introduce Sage but didn't see the were-fox there. She ponders this for a moment before realizing something. "Hey Sage, I think you are invisible." She turns her attention back to her sister. "Well whenever she appears again, her name is Sage. I found her in the forest while looking for you. She's a newly changed Werefox." She explained.

Javalle held his breath for a brief moment as he was being sniffed out. It felt rather unusual to see shifters still up and about in their animal forms during the day. While they were still human... As controlled as he was, Javalle still hadn't mastered shifting at will, though they figured it'd be a waste of energy. He then exhaled a relieved breath once he wasn't perceived as a threat.
The attention seemed to be taken off the lynx's back as Maria recounted what had happened during the full moon. Suprisingly, Maria boldly claimed that she wasn't afraid at all. Really? A teasing smirk plastered its way onto Javalle's face. Of course, his lips would be sealed...
While the sisters were catching up, Javalle sensed the presence of someone, but he couldn't detect a figure or scent until Maria's sister pointed them out. She announced that there was someone in the shadows, a were-fox named Sage, and Javalle was mildly taken aback with how Lexa stated they were invisible so casually. At least he wasn't alone in finding someone lost in the woods.
"Wait a moment. Did you say, newly changed? Maybe I can help with controlling your shifts better, Sage." Javalle requested, stepping forward into the light again.

"Really? You could?" Sage asked, "Well first thing is I have to know how to become visable again-" She looked down at herself in confusion, not being able to see the paws below herself,"I don't even know how I did it," Sage started to expand her puzzle of this, Were-creature, thing, Invisiblity? And how to change ot of it, I'll need to keep this in mind for when I truly need it, just in case.. Could be useful.

Maria turned to looked Javalle and scowled slightly as she saw the grin plaster itself across his face. Okay, yes she was lying to her sister about last night, but he didn't need to tease her. What was she supposed to do? Telling Lexa would have only made her sister think she was more of a mess up kid than she already was. Shaking her head she turned back to her sister and asked, "Speaking of, why are you still shifted anyways sis?"

Lexa glances between Javelle and Sage but doesn't say anything. He seemed nice enough considering he kept her sister safe. At Maria's question, Lexa turned once more to look at her. "Simple, I can cover more ground in this form. Besides who wouldn't want to run around as a wolf." She joked.

Maria looked at her sister with an are you serious look. All last night she was panicked because of being stuck in a wolves form. Also the tail was not fun, especially when it get something like a freaking twig stuck in it. "Lexa I can tell you that I do not, like at all. Half of my night was not knowing how to be in a wolf form lost in the middle of a demonic forest," she said dryly. Her eyes then shrank as se realized that she just revealed that she lied about being okay last night. Why does she speak words.

Lexa stares at Maria in shock before pinning her ears back. "You should have known better than to wander off during a full moon! Oh Maria what if you had gotten hurt or killed someone?" She takes a moment to compose herself before changing back into a human and giving her sister a hug. "I'm sorry you had to go through that alone."

Maria started to panic as Lexa's ears pinned themselves back and started berating her. "I-I know Lexa, it was an accident. I just wanted to clear my head before the full moon and got lost. T-then I ran into some shifter that apparently goes full feral given how he talked about how dangerous he was going to be." She tried to explain as tears formed in her eyes. "B-by the time I managed to not be with him anymore I got lost again. Then the moon rose and I just started panicking, running around crazily. I was lucky to run into, or at least nearly, Mister Javalle who helped me not get into more danger, especially the bear."
The young girl started to sniffle as she recounted all the horrible things that happened the prior day. She expected yet another verbal lashing from her sister, but was shocked by her hugging her instead. Don't cry, don't cry, do not cry, "WAH!" Whelp so much for that.

Lexa tightens her grip on her sister. "It's all right. I'm sorry you had to go through that alone." She should have been there with her instead of thinking that Maria was fine. Next full moon, she would make sure Maria wouldn't be alone. "I'm just glad you are all right."

“Oh, uhm- well, I’m actually not quite sure how the invisibility thing works, I just figured you wanted to change back. No worries, though, I’ll do my best to help.” Javalle fumbled on his words. He wasn’t expecting Sage to ask him about their powers, even though it seemed obvious.
“I guess shifters having powers isn’t entirely unheard of, but it’s only something I’ve read about and haven’t seen personally.” The were-lynx walked up to where he heard Sage’s voice and sat down. “Try to focus on nothing but your form right now. Seperate yourself from your surroundings. Narrow your thoughts to just.. you.” He couldn’t guarantee if this meditation of his would work but it was worth a shot.
As he instructed the amateur were-fox on what to do, Javalle overheard Maria and her older sister having a bout as Maria confronted her true feelings about last night, including some information Javalle was unaware of.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that alone." Lexa's words particularly stung. Soon after he became an adult, Javalle's parents left him at the cabin to go back to their relatives in Canada. Not having shifted yet, Javalle assumed they thought he was a lost cause and wasn’t a shifter at all. He remembered those first full moons alone, so fueled by seething anger that he forcibly transformed. And it hurt. They were terrified of going out at night and often locked and safeguarded their house, paranoid of going feral and wreaking havoc.
“You’re lucky to have a family who values your safety, Maria”, Javalle muttered suddenly, not glancing up at the two. Their expression was unreadable though they fiddled with the pendant around their neck, a clear indicator that something was up.

Maria sniffled as she nuzzled into her big sister Lexa. Man she thought with the full moon being over that she can finally stop making such a fool of herself. But no, she just had to start blubbering like a baby. What makes this worse is now Javalle would see she just a stupid puppy both as a wolf and a human.
Slowly she pulled away from her sister and said, "Lexa I am sorry, I didn't mean to act like such a dumb baby. I should have thought before going into the forest before a full moon." She then turned her head slightly as his feline friend said how lucky she was. Nodding solemnly she said, "I am lucky to have them, but also you. You literally saved me from potentially becoming some pooh bears pot of honey. I can never begin to say how much your help means to me."

Sage watched as this unfolded, still somewhat confused but she didn't want to bother this reunion, so she stayed out of it and focused on becoming visable. Sage imagined the trees, and the dirt, and grass, all coming together into one as she imagined her fox form, the delicate white legs and tail, the detailed face, and all the black and grey markings, her form shimmered back to visiblity, "Yes!" she muttered happily as she did what the were-lynx instructed, "Now how do I turn back? she mumbled, half to herself.

My recent days decided to get super busy ^^') (Trying to sell our house, so I’m away from home for a couple hours at a time now. Hopefully we can sell super quickly, we already have two groups interested and talking to their lenders!) Jack laughed in response. He graduated with good grades at least, but still used that particular incident as a deterrent from basically overdosing on caffeine again. It felt good to have someone to share such stupid situations with. If only he could tell Adeline about his curse. He did have other were-creatures to talk about it with, but it just wasn’t the same. Delvin, Roger, Darcy, and even Javalle if he can recall correctly were all born that way. It was as natural to them as getting a haircut. As far as he knew, Jack was the only one in town who was bitten and survived. The only one who was cursed, and it brought a deep sense of loneliness to his situation. As they get closer to the town center, an awful sound pierced his ears, causing Jack to visibly cringe from the sound. Was that- was that megaphone feedback? Sure enough, just a block away, some guy was standing on the corner of a crosswalk, signs of all sizes surrounding him. It reminded him of those pictures of those protest signs held up by people protesting comic-con conventions. The guy had the megaphone way too close to his mouth and the people going about their day walked past him as if he simply wasn’t there. A common occurrence, it seems. The two of them were too far away to see what was written on his signs, and the feedback from the megaphone was distorting whatever the stranger was saying for Jack to hear, but he could make out a few things from the noise. Things like “Griffindale’s unsafe”, “Protect the children”, so far staple protest saying. Jack did, however, stop in dead his tracks when the phrase “The beasts are out there! Stop denying the truth!” was said by the stranger. (Sherman’s gonna be so fun to write, feel free to use him in your responses too soot! He’s an NPC for a reason haha)

Much to Javalle's astonishment, the young fox began to become more opaque compared to the forest cleaeing, gray and white fur shining into view. The lynx shifter was impressed with both Sage and himself that the guidance was successful. Though the urgency in his acquaintance's voice on how to turn back sparked some hesitation.
"I wouldn't go rushing along to change back right now. Let's see... Have you tried walking around? It may take a while to get adjusted on four legs; you literally have two left and right feet to work with. Perhaps taking some time to get settled and embrace your form will make it easier to shift back and forth." Here he was, sounding like a wise shifter beyond his years, but in reality, Javalle was merely speaking from experience. He didn't want Sage to follow the same reluctant path they did. He would never dare to wish that on anyone.
Javalle turned his gaze to Maria and smiled, genuinely warmed by her kindness. They chuckled when she exaggerated the possibility of running into a bear that night. He found himself pleasantly surprised to have weaved a companionship with a kid he spoke to for no more than a day. Was he really that desperate to find someone who enjoyed being around him? Guess the only company being books on the library shelves just weren't cutting it for Javalle anymore...
(YEAH SHERMAN GOOBERT IS HERE!! I bet I'll have tons of fun crafting interactions for him and Javalle in the future! Such a fun idea for an NPC character)

Squinting instantly, her steps slowing to a step beside Jack as she tries to pinpoint where exactly that noise came from. It takes the blonde a moment or two before her eyes land on.. Someone- protesting? She's not able to hear or see whatever.. the person (she can't see that well from here-) might be saying, and just looks a tiny bit flabbergasted. "Can you- can you hear them?" She asks softly, nose scrunching at the loud sound still resounding in her ears. What exactly does a little place like Griffindale have to be protested about? The animal attacks are about all she can think about. Maybe some person wanting.. Adeline can't tell. No clue. She comes to a full stop, like a string tugging her back, her eyes instantly cast over to a oddly still, almost frozen, Jack. (JACK FROST-) With a slightly quirked brow, and light tap to his elbow, Adeline's attention is more so on Jack than the.. protestor. And horrific feedback. "Jack-?"Adeline cuts herself off when she hears the word 'Witch!' thrown around, her brows knitting together as Adeline instantly looks back over to the- what.. what kind of protestor starts yelling 'Witch!'? What witch? And what's he going on about a.. beast? Well. He's not wrong.
(Ahhh, SHERMAN! I'm so excited to see his interactions with everyone-!)
