.' -Nola Levington- '. Nola takes in the slightly unfamiliar scent of the feline, storing it into the back of her memory. Always good to have that, and now that she's thinking of it.. this feline has taken a sort of claim over the library, if the scent idly all over the book filled place is any consolation. There's a slight difference when it's simply an often picked up scent, and than a boundary laying scent. Glancing down as he picks up his order, her own being laid down moments later. A medium sized cup of coffee, just a tinge of sugar (the equivalent, she's figure out, to be seven little packets of sugar.), no milk. And Javalle.. has got a cup of chai, a good choice she'd say, she's always enjoyed it, even if the spices can make her sensitive senses flare on occasion. Nola's about to responds, a tinge of a smile on her still quite impassive face, when she's cut off by a familiar voice. An instant later, she scents Javalle's near instant change in emotion, and quirks a brow when she looks up to see Zhenya. Glancing between the two idly as they both speak. Oh God, what did Zhenya do to scare this one? Leaning against the counter more heavily, her slight smile easing off of her face to an elegant, but near completely apathetic expression. Nola gives a small nod, "Not yet technically, just a small drop off to get a drink." She pauses, giving Zhenya a plain, but curiosity tinged look. She's got no clue what he's doing here. He obviously was looking for her, if the slightly predatory stance he had in his gait was anything to go by. Nola's just waiting for the day where he wiggles and pounces. |

(There we go! xD Got it. I'm gonna try to add some more full moon related stuff with her, but tbh she's pretty chill most days, even the full moon. I'll make her shift a little more intriguing for sure though(:

++ Zhenya Metaxas-- Zhenya blinks once, his head twitches to the right as if he wants to cant it but he aborts the motion. He is also successful in keeping his amusement to himself, allowing the fascination to manifest over it. He has become rather skilled at masking his emotions so that even other shifters find them difficult to parse, suppressing one feeling to allow another to be more naturally projected. Javalle's panic and distress is palpable, so it'd...behoove him not to worsen it with his more instinctive response. Even though he finds the source of the other shifter's discomfort a bit mystifying. Everything had seemed fine, if a bit peaky with two shifters too close to the full moon occupying a confined space- but the mood changed when he entered. Huh. That...hasn't happened in a while. Zhenya likes to wear a smile to encourage others to do the same, and has done his best to keep his interactions light and amicable to match.
Sure their first official meeting wasn't the most positive, but he'd been outwardly cordial at least, and recieved the same. What's this then~? The weretiger's focus narrows in on the shorter shifter as they respond with eyes firmly on the slow steam rising from a cup of what smelled like chai. Once again, Javalle manages to maintain their composure despite their unsteady grip due to faint tremors of...fear?
Zhenya idly taps his parasol against his shoulder, rocking back on his heels because instinct bids him to press his advantage. "Isn't it~? A pleasant surprise, haha~ You know I've always wanted to get your reccomendation on a few genres but I haven't had the chance. Oh! I never introduced myself, have I?" He extends a gloved hand with a more restrained smile. No teeth on display this time. "I'm Detective Zhenya Metaxas- thought I'd include the rank because I don't wear a uniform like the unfortunate deputy here-" He inclines his head toward the brunette with a laugh, "But you can call me Anya~ And unlike Nola, I'm here on official business~"

lol I apologize for contributing to his 'excitement'
The good news is that I've been given a grace period because I'm still learning the ropes, so I may be able to write every night for the next few days at least! Hopefully!

This may be the first time I've ever written a shifter, I think. The closest I've gotten were magical characters who could shapeshift like Loki and that was ✨️magic✨️ so no pain or drama lol ]

(Things have calmed down a little since my college credit classes are done now! So hopefully I'll be able to write responses quicker as well! I do have some papers due over the break but shhh... let's not think about that right now. Honestly I've never written anything like a shift before as well, so I'm pretty much winging it, but I am taking inspiration from werewolf transformations in popular media!
I'll be writing Javalle's response shortly! Glad Zhenya's taking a nicer approach talking to him, the poor guy)

Noticing that the officer likely wanted no trouble at all, Javalle's tremors eased a smidge. He still couldn't keep the imagery of the savaged library and equally savage tiger out of his mind, but at least a conversation here would provide some closure despite his irrational nightmare. In fact, they could hardly detect any note of apprehension at all asides from their hovering glare.
At least he's doing the best he can to make me feel comfortable.
Then the officer offered their paw- no, hand, a notion that forced Javalle's hazel gaze off their cooling beverage and onto the were-tiger. He shook it, and as he did so the officer was giving details about themselves.
"Well, Detective" , He add the title in a lighter, more pleasing tone, "it's nice to finally associate a name to the face." But it was Anya's mention of genres that really captured the bookkeeper's attention. "Judging by your occupation, I'd assume you'd be interested in crime or mystery perhaps? You know, the library is practically my second home so I'd be pleased to chat with you when you have time off." So long as you don't take over my position he added silently. "Also, do you mind if I ask why detectives like yourself don't need to wear uniforms? Unless I'm being too nosy."

.' - Nola Levington - '. Nola glanced between the two, noting a tinge of lessening.. a, fear is it? She can't fully tell if it was fear, or plain dislike of some sorts. Zhenya, Nola's learned, can on occasion have that affect on people. Leaning against the counter some, glancing down to her uniform at the mention. Nola can slightly understand not wanting to wear a uniform, but she prefers wearing appropriate clothing for what she's doing. Perhaps a habit she got in her younger years? Who knows. Wrapping both hands around her cup of coffee, she glances down to the elegant, but sturdy and slightly out of place watch on her wrist. Hm, she's stayed a tinge longer than planned. The were-wolf looked back up, head inclined towards Zhenya in an idle return before taking a sip from her coffee. "Apologies. I'm still on duty, and have a few rounds to finish up." Nola starts, nose scrunching a tad at the sharp scent of fresh coffee grounds. Pushing herself out of her seat, and idle, slightly friendlier smile sent towards her coworker, and a polite smile towards Javalle. "I'll see you later, Zhenya? And have a good day." Nola adds, glancing towards the slightly less uncomfortable were-feline. As inclined as she might be to stay incase anything Zhenya says might scare the kid.. she's late. |

And you're all good! I wasn't planning on having Nola stay for too long, since she has work and her shifting to get ready for. She's pretty precise about her timing when it comes to shifting and such(: And take your time!)

(Juno it's 2:30 in the morning for me nooo- granted I did take a lot of naps today but I'm getting some sleep soon
I thought Teen Wolf (the series) was pretty alright even if I didn't finish it all! Really want to look at the 80s movie though. I'll probably let Javalle leave the cafe tomorrow since I don't want to write everything out tonight. Night, guys!)

.' - Adeline Nicholson - '. Adeline's walk to the hospital is put on a temporary pause.. by something? Glancing up from where she'd been checking her phone, Adeline's eyes a tinge wide as they land on the open expanse of the forest that surround the entire town. The blonde gives it a slightly cautious look, an odd feeling climbing it's way from the end of her spine.. and up to the base of her neck. It's almost.. urging her? Urging her where, away from the forest, or in to it? She fiddles with her phone, hesitating a moment before swiping down, and turning on the flashlight, glancing around the empty, still forest. Leaves rustling, animals somewhere off in the distance making weird noises.. nothing out of the ordinary. So why does Adeline feel like there's more to it? |

He felt like he was going to die, or at least he very much wanted to. He hadn’t moved from his position in… wait… how long had he been there? Surely a few hours at least. He just didn’t have the strength nor the will to move from his spot. He had to have been quite a sight. A shaky, deathly pale man curled up with his head to his knees alone in the woods… He must look like a maniac that escaped the hospital. Jack tried to keep his breathing steady and even, though it was hard to concentrate with his heart quietly beating in his ears.

.' - Adeline Nicholson - '. Adeline hesitated, glancing towards the sidewalk, and the forest. There is the sensible decision, than the one her.. senses or something are screaming at her to make. Run, or.. investigate. Huffing, Adeline turns her gaze towards the forest, hesitating before making her way forwards. This can't.. be the worst idea. Just.. avoid any big animals with claws or teeth, and she'll be fine.Glancing around the slightly darkened forest, flashlight still out for extra vision, she steps carefully forward through the summer time trees. It doesn't take Adeline long, verging on ready to bolt, when she hears.. breathing. Glancing around with wide eyes, which quickly land on.. a somewhat familiar figure. "Jack?"(And this is all my tired brain has left, I hope you have a good night everybody! I'll possibly be on tomorrow!(: |

++ Zhenya Metaxas-- Zhenya brightens when the librarian accepts his hand, giving him a simple firm shake before allowing it to drift to his pocket. The ribbon tied to the handle of his parasol is looped around one wrist, causing it to dangle at his side. His posture remains loose even as the more predatory side of him paces restlessly. He really doesn't like the smell of coffee, but Javalle's calmer scent is a pleasing distraction. "Oh? You of all people should know not to judge a book by its cover~" His glittering eyes narrow as his smile widens, tone lilting to indicate that he's teasing. "I'm more interested in horror and science fiction right now- hmm, but I wouldn't mind a few true crime titles to give me fresh ideas~"
The weretiger's base scent is usually of a sanguine nature; he presents to the world that he is content with himself and whatever situation he finds himself in, only marred when actively on the hunt during working hours- but now it shines through with genuine pleasure at Javalle's invitation back into 'their' territory. "Is...that so?" Zhenya's words end in a pleased hum. "In that case, I'll be sure to take you up on your offer Javalle~" Javalle's follow-up question earns an amused chuff. "Not at all! Short answer? Because I refuse to wear anything so drab and stuffy- no offense Nola~" He shoots her finger-hearts and an irreverent grin. "Long answer? Eh, I'll make it shorter. Police officers are meant to be easily identifiable so that you know who to approach for help, yes? My job primarily involves investigation, I can't have potential suspects immediately clocking me as law enforcement. Although," Here he sees fit to sigh and 'casually' run a hand through his artfully messy ebon-streaked hair so that he can strike a winsome pose, complete with a dramatic look into the distance, "I'm so beautiful that I can't help being recognized anyway. It's a blessing and a curse~" Moment over, Anya relaxes his stance as his gaze drops back to the werelynx. "It's a lot more desk work honestly, so I don't need to 'represent' the force to the public."
Again, his mood suddenly brightens. "So! I look forward to seeing you for a change of pace~"
Nola moves from the corner of his eye- glancing at her watch- and he's suddenly reminded of why he's there in the first place when she begins to excuse herself. "Ah!" Anya jolts and begins backing toward the door after her, one hand lifted in a lazy wave. "See you around, Jav~"
Zhenya catches up with the werewolf at her patrol car, smile bright as always but his tone holding a gentler quality when he speaks. "Hey, thank you for treating Teo the other day~"
His hands, however, are in his pockets. As they are always kept free to help illustrate and emphasize when he speaks, this is usually a sign that he is up to something.

[ What a coincidence! I also didn't finish Teen Wolf lol But when I found out they added other supernatural creatures I was like "?!?" Hope they did them justice but. It's MTV...Though I could've sworn it was on the CW..?
It seems that you guys are trying to move on so I tried not to tarry with my response. ^^" I can retroactively respond to however Javalle reacts, and Anya's interaction with Nola can end in like, one or two more scenes.
Although this one was kinda difficult to write. I don't know where it came from but Anya was being so flirtatious I had to rewrite and rein it in ;;;
to clarify- he wasn't flirting with Nola because he clocked 'Big Sister Vibes' from her lol ]
to double clarify, Anya is meant to be flirty in general but i have no idea why i suddenly had the inspiration for it right now haha

.' - Nola Levington - '. Nola gave an idle, curious thought of Zhenya's book preferences. Horror and science fiction? Hm, she'll have to keep that in mind. Nola gives Zhenya an idle look as he walks backwards, sending a small wave herself towards Javalle before opening the door, letting Zhenya walk out first. Nola tugs on the ends of her sleeves, her cup carefully, and eloquently held in one hand. Balance and technique is key, as always. Nola glances up at Zhenya, head inclined just a tinge as she catches notice of his pleasantly more genuine smile, and the thanks that comes along with it. "You're welcome.." She says, trailing off at his slightly.. suspicious posture. Nola quirks a slightly wondering look. It's never good when Zhenya's seeming suspicious. Gesturing to the passenger's seat on the other side with a practiced hand, "Wanting to tag along?" Nola asks, taking another sip of her coffee. And proceeds to tug on her sleeve again. Her uniform, quite well worn but sturdy, is feeling itchy. |
