Would love to join in on stuff if you're looking for new faces. No rush, this just gives me a chance to have some time to hopefully type away a lil character blurb in the meantime~

Reina Alvarez Alias: Ice Queen Occupation: X-Force member Age: 26 Mutation: Cryokinesis, controlling ice & manipulating cold temperatures
Description: Reina is a bright-eyed newcomer, born in Canada, who has grown up and trained at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. With her background as a mutant, she hopes to start expanding her horizons into being a potential agent for SHIELD. There is a reason she gave herself the name "Ice Queen", as she can be a bit stoic and aloof to new people, but also a play on words to her personality behind the alias, as she has a soft spot for kids and younger faces. Reina is no stranger to disappoint and heartbreak, there is a wall that she prefers to keep up, to mitigate any chance of hurt during or in the fallout of missions. Once that initial icy exterior is broken, she turns out to be much more of a softie. She tries not to be overly trusting, but there is still a naivety to her that can sometimes be taken advantage of if she is not careful.
Appearance: Reina's training has her built like a dancer: lithe, athletic, and sculpted. She has been more trained for ranged combat, but has enough backing to handle fighting in close quarters long enough to let others intervene. She stands at 5'6, with soft light brown skin and long black hair that falls in loose waves to her mid back. Her hair is often kept undone and wavy, and she has curtain bangs that nicely frame her face, but will sometimes put her hair up in updos whenever she trains. Her eyes are a startlingly pale blue, a stark contrast to her Hispanic complexion. She will usually be wearing graphic shirts, jeans, and mid-calf lace up boots, and will often be found with a flannel long-sleeved shirt tied around her waist to remind her of her home back in Canada. Her field suit is composed of a dark navy full-body suit with built-in boots, a snowflake emblem on her shoulders and one on the center chest, plus a patterned motif swirling from the neck collar, across the shoulders, and down her sides to her boots.
Other: She is fluent in Spanish and French, sometimes alternating between the two when she is excited. Reina can easily make herself overwhelmed and easily flustered, which will cause frost to form across her skin as a defense mechanism. She is also a casual practitioner of magic, and has managed to procure a non-combative familiaris, named Shadow, that takes the form of white animals, often a ferret. Sometimes Shadow will randomly teleport at their own whim, and will sometimes be able to detect and track magical anomalies, but is unable to determine the level of significance or danger.
(Hope this looks good, lemme know if things need to be adjusted)

[ No problem Captain Americat , I hope things are going well! I've been busy too, and I kinda still am but I already had Raes' starter written up a while ago. I wanted to write some action but didn't know if I should post it yet because it's not connected to anything ^^" I've cut it for length so there's two halves. I just thought it might be a fun way to introduce him~ I'll have another 'action-y' starter posted too that anyone can join in on, featuring a new character I'm working on. And welcome Rivermagic ! I seem to have the monopoly on SHIELD at the moment but let me know when/if you want to have Reina join so I can start a plotline with you ^^ Also! Raes already has a form & everything, I just tacked it on to my original three ^^" ]

*** Raes Danse, SHIELD Operative + Even with his ears protected by a headset, the whine of the jet's engines is loud and pervasive. There was no accounting for interior sound when it needed to be as powerfully fast as possible to ferry the organization's top agents between battlefields. Only active in case of such emergencies, the F6 Nightingale was commandeered after the fall of SHIELD and doesn't have the benefit of being amongst Tony Stark's latest works. The majority of SHIELD's transport had been either destroyed or stolen with Asteraoth left to pick up the pieces of its former contracts with the genius behind Iron Man. As they now stood, a Helicarrier still in the works and any machinery they could salvage used sparingly, comparatively sub-par military-level tech is all they can manage. This mission may just be the turning point, however...
The ground below streaks by in a blur of colors but it still isn't fast enough. Pale lavender eyes shift from the dizzying view to the glowing display showing their position and distance in relation to their destination. Five more minutes. Can they spare even that?
Forcing his tense muscles to relax, Raes unbuckles himself and rises to his feet. The pilot hisses out a 'brace!' and he responds with a lazy salute before beginning to stretch languidly, shifting the sleek metal apparatus on his back. They're moving in a straight line and so it doesn't take much to plant his feet and maintain his balance despite the occasional jolt or shudder as she eases the jet into a higher speed. He taps his headset, "We don't need to land. Give me a flyover for...Zone 7.3." There are less hostiles there, an opportune point for sniping.
Andrade sighs into the mic but knows better than to argue. "Copy that. I can't afford to give you cover fire so we'll have to settle for a little outside of that. The cloaking can only go so far."
His eyes crinkle with his smile. "Of course~ Thank you Captain! Pleasure flying with you~"
She doesn't get the chance to respond as he's already hit the button that will allow him to drop from the jet, a hatch beginning to creak open just behind him. Her cockpit is separated from the transport section, so she doesn't feel the intense suction of air as it steadily draws him toward the opening. Raes braces with a hand on one of the bars curved into the interior of the jet, his steel-toed boots scraping against the metal floor and igniting it with sparks.
"Moth this is Railgun, en route to the Forgery in Arizona. Tell Delta Squad to fall back, I don't have the patience for a protracted battle."
"Copy that Railgun, I'll relay your message but the fighting's too fierce for them to make a retreat just yet. They're being overrun."
Tch. Change of plans then. Raes removes his headset and mask, allowing them to dangle from the ceiling. It's getting difficult to breathe but he shouts out his next words to be heard over the shriek of the wind.
"Activate Gandiva! Andrade, we'll have to-"
But it's too late. He timed it poorly, as usual, and the hatch is fully open before he can finish his sentence. Raes is abruptly shot out of the jet like a ragdoll, his head cracking against the side of the exit hatch and sending him spinning into the air. Pain bursts across his skull and he freefalls for a disturbing length of time as he struggles to get his bearings. It might have taken him longer to tell up from down if he weren't also subjected to one of the most annoying sounds he's ever heard crackling through his earpiece.
'Moth' is openly guffawing, and there's a repeated thump as if he's smacking his desk in his mirth.
"Oh my gaahaha! I'm saving that to your fail compilation!"
Still blinking stars from his eyes, Raes can only growl in response as he flips himself belly down to activate his glider. It doesn't significantly slow his descent, but it allows him to control the angle at which he may hit the ground. Above him, Andrade is a mere flicker of light on an already sunny day as she wheels the cloaked jet around to find a safer place to land. The agent is blessedly unassaulted as he crashes into a roll, wings folding on impact as he kicks up sand and rocks in an effort to halt his forward momentum. Still damaged from their most recent skirmish, the thrusters kick in just shy of too late but manage to pull him into a hover before he can eat any more dirt.
Raes succumbs to a round of violent sneezing, spitting out various elements of the Arizona desert as he forces himself upright and swipes sand from his goggles. Even with sand in his ears, he can hear the nearby roar of gunfire and more subdued hum of lasers. His first few steps are staggered, but it doesn't take him long to recover enough for a full sprint across the uneven ground. 'Zone 7.3' is an ideal location for Gandiva's activation, but Raes can't afford to hang back if his agents are struggling. They'll have to do this one on the fly.
"Moth, shut the hell up! Where is Gandiva?!"
"All good, Potato Gun~ We're sitting at yellow across the board, still need time to charge up. Awaiting target systems link and area of detonation. You know you need distance for that, right?"
Raes ignores him, vaulting over a charred humanoid chassis and swinging his heavily modified shotgun into hand as he does so. Delta Squad is currently engaged with the latest batch of Hammer Industries' 'patented' army-issue robots. Under any other circumstances SHIELD wouldn't technically have a reason to investigate this latest business venture, but they'd received word that the machines were operating on stolen and possibly alien technology. The suggestion that they were being modeled after Ultron was particularly concerning. They lack the inordinate intelligence and ability to completely connect to the internet, but their fire power is nothing to scoff at. An infiltration gone awry had led to engagement not even five hours ago, but that's long enough. Delta was the backup, and Railgun is the resolution.
"Railgun reporting, I'm bringing you home!" He calls over the sound of steady battle, electromagnetic shields flickering into place as he skids in to cover a wounded agent. Though the situation is fraught- a single visual sweep reveals seven fallen operatives- their galvanized cheers brings a cocky grin to his scarred face.
Raes sends a few rounds into the angrily sparking head of an android attempting to snipe them from the rubble of the blasted facility before quickly kneeling to pull a blond to his feet. "You've done well to hold out as long as you have." He claps the man on his uninjured shoulder, waving away an incoming explosive round with the other to send it careening back into the bot who fired it. They're quickly immersed in a blaze of heat. "Let me take care of the rest~ Fan out, we're drawing Gandiva."
The man's eyes widen at this but he nods quickly. "Copy that sir, we'll steer clear."
The last half hour of the battle is tense and arduous. Raes is forced to fire the beacons that will make up Gandiva's point of detonation, meaning that he spends much of his time juggling the nonlethal pylon bow and his other very much lethal weapons to keep the androids off of his back. The good news is that they determined him the greater threat and concentrated their fire on his person rather than his squad. The bad news is they concentrated their fire on his person...and often destroyed the pylons in the process. Delta did their best to help but they were already flagging before he'd arrived.
Raes swears when yet another pylon is blown to pieces, pressing a hand to the gash in his side as he more stumbles away than dodges a blast that sears the fine hairs on the back of his neck. His dark hair is singed and matting with blood at this point, and both his shotgun and handguns were lost somewhere in the third skirmish with one of the stronger androids. With the exception of shielding, he's been forced to keep his mutant powers to a minimum as their enemies are no doubt watching or at least recording the battle through the glowing ruby optics that track his every movement.
"Moth!"
"Systems are green but we're at a quarter for targeting links. Alignment halting at around 43%."
He glances at the grim faces of those arrayed behind him and then back toward the barrage that is steadily eating away at a shield that he's now struggling to maintain.
"Screw it, we're going manual! Delta take cover!"
Raes activates the thrusters for his glider in one short burst, sending him above the decimated desert for a better view of the battlefield. The AI in his goggles automatically hone in on every pylon he's managed to land, ignoring the bullets, lasers- and chunks of cement from one particularly violent android- that are sent his way. His shielding is waning but he ignores that too, arranging the fingers of his right hand until he's forming a 'finger gun' and drawing it from one pylon to the next, and then to other areas of empty space that could connect them. It takes mere seconds but as he does this his shield drops entirely, every ounce of energy focused on connecting to the massive 'bow' in orbit.
"Domain set. Drawing."
The verbal confirmation is picked up with a subtle tone in his head, spine aflame as electricity begins to crackle and rise in intensity around his body. His world narrows to that single point- whatever can be found at the tip of his gloved finger. Perception shifts immediately until he is intimiately aware of any and every aspect of the battlefield without having to shift his gaze.
Something- several somethings- sear into his left shoulder. Cement glances off his head and cracks his goggles. A laser slices through his shin.
Moth's baritone sounds above the gunfire. "Awaiting target systems link and area of detonation. Anchored.....The bow has been nocked and drawn. Aiming...target lock. Bombardment on your word."
Raes mimes firing his 'gun'. "Release."

** Paris, SHIELD Liaison+ The young brunet allowed his shoes to lift from the ground, hovering a few feet with one leg crossed over the other to overlap gloved hands on the raised knee. His eyes never opened, yet he mimicked the posture of an intrigued human by leaning forward to attend every facet of Tony's demonstration. He gives a polite show of applause afterward, though it sounds hollow in the large room.
"That truly is amazing Mr Stark! I am sure that its wide range of effects will be effective against foes who have a resistance to brute force. May I ask what classifies it as 'stealth armor'? Are you intending for Echo to feature primarily in infiltration missions? And have you had to make any fundamental changes in design that would make it structurally differ from previous suits? What inspired you to choose this route?"
He returns his attention to the 3D holograms, scanning them with interest. Echo's functionality is going in a different vein from Iron Man's previous suits and he can't wait to see it in action! He'd actually like to participate in the full demonstration in a bid to discover how the sound emitters might affect him but suspects that he'd have to convince the Director of the merits first... [ I have no complaints, bloodrosepelt I think it's a really cool idea! ^^ ]

Tony smiled as Paris started to applause him after he had finished his presentation on the echo armor. After a couple of bows he just watched as the shield liaison seemed to be inspecting his designs. Rubbing his chin while thinking how best to explain. "For starters, yes this suit will primarily be used for covert and infiltration missions. Due to the sensitive nature of the sound system I was forced to cut back greatly on my usual arsenal and overall bulk that has been my standard. All this meaning that while being faster and more stealthy, it is not very strong and can't really take a hit. Now onto what makes this one of my stealth armors is simply its ability to become almost invisible to both machines and living being with the right frequency." He stopped his explanation when asked why he choose to make this armor. With a shrug the he said, "Honestly it was just one of those spur of the moment ideas you know."
