Given that there are no plans for any novellas atm and while the graphic novels are still going strong, if you HAD to pick just one of them to get consistent releases, which one would you pick? The novella compilations, or the graphic novels?
I'd go with the novellas. I like the graphic novels, but I usually find myself more interested in the novellas overall. And plus, the novellas come in compilations of three with a different POV character for each story, so we get to see three different POVs in one fell swoop lol
In a perfect world we'd obviously get both, but I'm just curious to see which people prefer.

Novellas for the exact reasons you stated. I also really liked that novellas can center around more scarce characters like Pinestar, Redtail, Goosefeather, etc.
Still love the graphic novels. I love James' art a lot.

I first learnt how to draw cats from the Graphic novels...
But I have to go with novellas. It's easier to give them a stronger plot

Graphic novels. The novellas aren't...[Looks at Spottedleaf's heart and Redtail's debt] shudders ...my cup of tea.

Graphic novels. The novellas aren't...[Looks at Spottedleaf's heart and Redtail's debt] shudders ...my cup of tea. I feel like the highs are higher and the lows are lower for novellas than graphic novels. Imo, graphic novels range from "meh" to "decent," whereas the novellas range from fascinating character explorations that add richness to the canon (Goosefeather's Curse, Pinestar's Wish) to canon-destroying garbage fires (Spottedleaf's Heart, the second half of Redtail's Debt), with most being in between.

Novellas (really hope they bring them back someday, hopefully sooner rather than later). Yes, there were some meh to garbage entries there (Pebbleshine's Kits and Spottedkeaf's Heart as examples for that, in my opinion). But, there were also plenty of awesome ones (such as Hollyleaf's Story, Dovewing's Silence, Mothwing's Secret and so on).
Love the GNs too though. Especially for the art, character cameos and interactions. Or just bringing scenes to life that we previously only got in text form (such as the battle from Starlight in Winds of Change and the most recent A Thief in ThunderClan one taking place around the time of Firestar's Quest). Really love that, to be honest. But also love the ones expanding on different character stories/adding things on (such as A Shadow in RiverClan and The Rise of Scourge).

I like both a lot but novellas, since they tend to have more character development involved.

Hard choice but it's gotta be novellas. I prefer them to the graphic novels, but James L Barry's art is always lovely

While I do love graphic novels, the novellas provide a lot more story and are less filler
