Shadow x Chase

Blood on the Plains:

"I expect you'll want your own territory again," Shadow said, as they watched Seek scramble up over a rocky outcropping and peer up into the cloud covered slopes.
"I'll steer clear for awhile, give you as much space as you need."
Despite everything, Chase suddenly felt strangely shy.
"That's... really not necessary," she said. "You can stay. Just for a while. You know, for Seek's sake."
Shadow blinked, and his whiskers twitched into a pleased smile.
"Oh," he said. "Well, if it's for Seek. We can stay together for a while."
He leaned his shoulder against Chase's, and side by side, flanked by the gorillas and with their eyes on the smoking mountain, they headed for home.
