(Coolio, sounds good to me. ) Brambletalon - Out of Camp w /Daisypaw; ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · Brambletalon let out a yelp falling over. Aside from being startled, his heart raced at the thought that Starclan had just sent a badger or something to kill him after he cursed them out. Not hearing Daisypaw's apology he frantically stumbled up and grabbed his footing, leaning down in a battle ready stance with his hackles raised. His flank rose and fell heavily as he tried to catch his breath while speaking, "You want to kill me too then? Have at..." Bramble froze and stared in front of him all of his anger and fear canceling out the moment he realized it was Daisypaw that had stumbled into him. "I uh..." He cleared his throat. "Um... S-sorry, I wasn't expecting anyone to be out this way..." He sat down relaxing and his face blushed with embarrassment while his brain insulted him. Way to go Bramble. You lost your mind yet? He then rubbed off the couple tears he still had in his eyes trying to make it look as if he was rubbing out dirt.

Lizardeye Flower Fields With Oatstream, Dark Lizardeye started to purr once more but then stopped so she could catch her breath. She pressed into Oatstream as she recovered, staring out over the flower fields. It was beautiful here, and she cherished this moment with her mate. Thankfully, they were both in good health, but with Thistlestar's constant aggression towards Willowclan, no cat was safe, not even the elders. So she would enjoy every spare moment of peace she could get with her lifelong mate. "You're right." She mewed quietly to Oatstream. She kept her head on his shoulder a moment longer before giving a sarcastic laugh. "Thistlestar would have my hide if she saw how tired a little scuffle made me! She'd call me out of shape for sure!"
(They're precious and I love them. I wish I could draw, I'd want to draw a pic of them in the flower fields together. :,) ) Pebblepaw considered his mentor's words. On one paw, he was relieved that perhaps it wasn't his fault after all that he almost lost his mentor. On the other, he had a sinking feeling that he would never measure up to his leader's standards. He could only hope that perhaps Shatterfrost would be a bit more forgiving, but he doubted it. To his knowledge, only Shadecreek and Patchpaw were aware of the full extent that he struggled with his elemental powers. But once Shatterfrost watched them, it would be reported to Thistlestar, and she would find a way to humiliate him in front of the whole clan, he was sure of it. He gave his chest fur a few licks to comfort himself, feeling like keeping his pelt groomed was all that was within his control at the moment. "Yeah... I'll do my best." He muttered under his breath. Right now, he didn't feel like he did have what it took to be a warrior. He was determined not to let Shadecreek down, but how was he supposed to do that when he could barely make convincing ripples in a pond? "Well... I guess I'll let you rest." He mewed to Shadecreek. He glanced over at where the other apprentices were, and his eyes landed on Stoatpaw. "Er.... Stoatpaw, could I talk to you for a minute?" He mewed, looking down at the ground once more while he talked.

Oatstream w/ Lizardeye- bluewonder The tom followed Lizardeye's gaze across the field, his eyes catching on one flower in particular. It was a beautiful shade of red, with little splashes of yellow at the tip of every petal. He pondered whether he should go and pick it for his wonderful mate, but suddenly her next words brought him back. Oatstream couldn't help but let out a mrrow of amusement. "Well, she isn't wrong, is she?" he teased, eyes shining with the obvious love he held for her so deeply. (I can't draw for the life of me but I would totally draw them as well)

Cedarstorm —medicine cat den — with Hollyfeather & Tinypaw | ignoring the rest of the cats in the den. Cedarstorm grinned once Hollyfeather brightened up at the sight of the new herbs. Their storage would be full for quite some time. As long as another badger attack or battle didn’t deplete it, luck was on their side. He padded over to where Pebblepaw had dropped his herb bundle, gathering them up. He was curious as to what took place while he and the apprentice were out of camp. The umber brown tabby carried the newly formed bundle to the herb storage. ”Did anything happen while we were away?” he asked Hollyfeather quietly, his copper gaze focused on the den entrance. Hopefully Thistlestar wasn’t going to drop in on them without notice. If she did, Cedarstorm knew he could deal with her. The medicine cat didn’t fear the leader whatsoever. If anything, he got along with her. Maybe he would try speaking with her once he was done sorting herbs. Still, he wanted answers to his question. Something felt off and he deserved an honest reply. If Hollyfeather knew something, he would press further. Hollyfeather w/ Cedarstorm- SandGlancing over at Cedarstorm, the molly sighed. "Quite a lot, actually. Thistlestar decided to reassign Mintpaw to Dapplesky and now Shatterfrost has to watch over Shadecreek and Pebblepaw while they train." She lowered her voice when she responded like it was a secret she shouldn't be sharing. "A few cats stood up to Thistlestar about Mintpaw's injuries and the early apprenticeship but she didn't take it too well... as expected." Hollyfeather didn't mention the fact that she had spoken out against Thistlestar as a pawful of her clanmates did, since she knew Cedarstorm seemed to respect the fierce leader. (I had replied to your post with this before, maybe you skimmed over it..? Anyway, no worries whatsoever, here it is again!)

(crap, I completely missed, I'm sorry!) Cedarstorm medicine cat den — accompanied by: Hollyfeather Cedarstorm listened carefully to Hollyfeather. He began placing the dock leaves in their herb storage to keep himself busy. He turned to face the other medicine cat, somewhat shocked by what Hollyfeather had divulged. "Reassigned? Pebblepaw was doing just fine with his mentor and so was Mintpaw," he mewed, perplexed by Thistlestar's odd decision.
What's the point of re-assigning them when they are thriving? he pondered, setting down a poppy flower gently. It's stupid. Would she do the same with Tinypaw if she was a warrior apprentice? As soon as the grey and white she-cat lowered her voice, he glanced around the medicine cat den skeptically. "I imagine she didn't take that well," he whispered back.
Cedarstorm knew Thistlestar didn't like being criticised, considering she was leader and the warriors who stood up to her were not. "I may speak to her soon then. I have yet to inform her of Shadecreek and Mintpaw's prognosis," he told Hollyfeather, although he wasn't sure if Thistlestar would care. "It may be better if I go now instead of later. I'm sure she noticed I wasn't in camp."

Shadecreek - Medicine Cats’ den - Open!
With a flick of his tail, he murmured his goodbye to his apprentice and turned back to finishing his squirrel. His thoughts once again turning back to Thistlestar. Brambletalon seemed to be on his side when it came to her, perhaps tomorrow the two of them can have a talk after he was done training Pebblepaw for the day…
He cringed internally, Pebblepaw did struggle with controlling his powers, but there were times the young tom had genuinely impressed him. The added eyes on him with Shattterfrost as a permanent shadow wouldn’t help. He’ll need to come up with something to help Pebblepaw out.
(Any chance that some time soon we’ll do a timeskip to the next day?)

Hollyfeather w/ Cedarstorm- Sand Hollyfeather flicked her tail, thinking about what the fellow medicine cat said. "I agree, you should talk to her sooner than later. Though I would make sure she's in at least a decent mood before bringing this up again," the molly warned in a hushed tone. The last thing Hollyfeather wanted was for Cedarstorm to be caught up in this whole situation. She had already stood up to Thistlestar, what would happen if both of them were seen as unloyal to the clan? "We don't need this to become a disaster." (No worries!)

Cedarstorm medicine cat den — accompanied by: Hollyfeather Cedarstorm continued to listen to Hollyfeather. He wondered what Thistlestar was up to now since the disastrous meeting had ended. The fellow medicine cat was right; catching her in a terrible mood would lead them into another disaster. It was the last thing the clan needed in times like this.
However, unlike Hollyfeather he had not stood up to the leader. He knew his place and where he belonged. He was not one to judge their leader, but he did have quite skeptical thoughts about Thistlestar's actions. Whatever the reasoning was behind the reassignment seemed shortsighted to him, though it was not his place to say so.
"I agree with you," he mewed quietly, his gaze wandering to Shadecreek. "I'm going to fetch some prey for us, Shadecreek, Tinypaw, and Mintpaw. If she's out in the clearing, then I have a chance of speaking to her civilly. Is that okay with you?"
This is the only plan I have. I can't mess it up, we're in enough trouble already, the tabby thought to himself. Hopefully Hollyfeather would agree with him and allow him to approach their leader. Maybe Thistlestar would not be still brewing with anger after all the chaos. ( tags: Dark )

Hollyfeather w/ Cedarstorm- SandHollyfeather nodded, following the tom's gaze and then turning back to him. "If she looks as though she's about to claw someone's ears off, I would wait until later," she advised once again. The she-cat wanted to make sure Cedarstorm knew that he should speak to her at the right moment to avoid the risk of a fiasco. Hollyfeather looked at him intently, silently hoping he wouldn't further anger their leader.

Brightmist - Camp - with Dapplesky (bluewonder )Brightmist gave her a surprised look but said nothing. He hadn't thought about that until she had brought it up now. So far he had assumed that Thistlestar hadn't really thought about who Mintpaw's mentor should be, that she had only focused on who it shouldn't be. Maybe Dapplesky was right and Thistlestar really did have a reason to choose her beside her not opposing her in any way. But what would she want to punish her for? Dapplesky had never caused any trouble for her. Brightmist gave up thinking about this when Dapplesky shared her opinion on his suggestion. With a firm nod and a smile he mewed his agreement. "Then that's what we'll do," he said. "Besides, I offered you my help so I'm not gonna back out now. It won't be easy but I now we can make it work." At her next words he let out a light chuckle. "If you say so. I doubt it will be much but if you think it'll help you grow then I'll do my best." Stoatpaw - Medicine Den - with Pebblepaw and Mintpaw (bluewonder , Ember34 )Stoatpaw watched the warrior and her denmate, smiling slightly. She was glad for them but she also couldn't imagine why Thistlestar would change her mind and let Shadecreek keep training Pebblepaw. Sure, Shatterfrost was to observe them but that didn't change the fact that their leader had pretty much taken back her decision. She glanced at Mintpaw, wondering if Thistlestar would do the same for him and Frecklecloud. But she left it unsaid, not wanting to give either of them false hope. She didn't really believe it herself anyway. When Pebblepaw addressed her she looked up in surprise, wondering what the other apprentice wanted, but nodded. "Sure," she meowed. "What's up?" Careful to not push Mintpaw she got up on her paws, ready to leave the den if Pebblepaw wanted to talk outside. She briefly looked to her littermate again. "Well, I guess I'll see you later," she meowed to him before turning back to Pebblepaw. (I'm not forgetting about my replies with Darkwhisper and Wolfpaw, I'll put them up next. As for Weaselflare with Foxskip, we should probably wait for 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 since Slowripple is part of this interaction too)

Mintpaw-Medicine Cat Den-Frecklecloud, Stoatpaw, Pebblepaw, Shadecreek Mintpaw couldn't help his envy, why did he have to change mentors still. But soon hurt took over, Shadecreek had fought for Pebblepaw, but Frecklecloud just accepted it. His ears pulled back, he must have really been a disappointment to Frecklecloud for the she cat to not want him. Maybe Dapplesky wouldn't be so bad after all, though from how it seemed, the other warrior didn't want him either. He watched Stoatpaw stand up. "Alright," he said, forcing a smile to his face. "Thanks for coming." While he kept up the smile inside he really just wanted to cry.

I make no promises, but going to use it to further add to my whole Mintpaw sneaking out to find the badger thing) Tansypool-Camp-Shatterfrost The tom didn't fully notice the other's change, but part of him couldn't sense that there was one. "I hope you are right, I just don't want us to lose anyone," he said, his gaze moving to the medicine cat den where the other deputy and a kit were currently injuried. Turning his gaze back to where Thistlestar was he flicked his tail. Maybe Thiatlstar was a scared as the rest of them, and was actually looking out for their wellbeing, in a...rather unique way? He wasn't trying to justify her, but trying to look at various angles of the situation that was plaguing the clan.

Shatterfrost w/ Tansypool- Ember34At that, Shatterfrost let out a small grumble. "I'll make sure that doesn't happen. It won't, not on my watch," he replied in an attempt to reassure the tom, and maybe even himself. He wasn't scared, per se, just mildly annoyed at the thought of the badger coming back. Anybody who attacks Ivyclan will regret it.

Wolfpaw - Outside of Camp -> nearing Rushing River - with Oriolehop (Sand )Wolfpaw let out a purr and shot his mentor a grin. Hopefully Thistlestar never came up with an excuse to split them up too. But as long as neither of them did anything to provoke the leader she wouldn't have a reason. With how Thistlestar was acting though it became more difficult to just stand by and let her go unchallenged. Today's meeting at proven that. There had always been cats who disagreed with Thistlestar and some had also always been open about it but never before had so many cats spoken out against her in front of the whole clan. Wolfpaw really couldn't blame Shadecreek, Frecklecloud and Hollyfeather for walking away. Still, with so many cats who were openly against her Thistlestar might keep an even closer eye on her clan to make sure that those who opposed her didn't grow in numbers. When Oriolehop voiced his doubts Wolfpaw nodded. "She doesn't seem to care too much about that," he meowed carefully, not wanting to sound too disrespectful to Thistlestar despite his strong dislike for her. Then he stayed quiet for a moment, not sure if he should say more on that.
Glad that Oriolehop didn't mind him walking on ahead Wolfpaw smiled and dipped his head. "Yeah, we better get going," he meowed. He knew the way well enough and set a steady pace. He still was careful not to get ahead too far though. Wolfpaw did keep his eyes and ears out for potential danger but unlike Oriolehop he had to rely on that alone. So he made sure to stay close enough to him that he'd hear his mentor's warnings in case he found the scents of predators or trespassing cats. Once they had left the Ivy Forest Wolfpaw slowed down a little. He still had some things on his mind regarding Thistlestar and her decisions. Like he had said before, he doubted that the leader cared about how good or bad Mintpaw and Pebblepaw's apprenticeship was. She only seemed to be concerned with how loyal they'd be to her and didn't want them to take after Shadecreek and Frecklecloud. And probably any other cat who criticised her. She wouldn't have those issues with Shatterfrost and Dapplesky. At that thought Wolfpaw slightly turned his head to look at Oriolehop. "Hey, so... I've just thought, Mintpaw's new mentor is Dapplesky, right?" he asked as they kept walking towards the river. "I just realized you don't seem too happy about that. Sure, Mintpaw shouldn't be getting a different mentor in the first place but I kinda thought you'd be proud that Thistlestar chose Dapplesky." Wolfpaw lowered his gaze a little and looked ahead again. "Even if she probably chose her mainly because she doesn't stand up to her," he conceded.

Darkwhisper - Ivy Forest - with Sootpaw (Sand )"We'll see if you can throw one," he chuckled. "But even a smaller branch can be challenging at first." He doubted Sootpaw would get discouraged by that and it was not his intention anyway. But she did need to know what she should expect. Not that she would be stopped by that, Sootpaw always seemed to want to exceed what everyone expected of an apprentice her age. At her question he laughed and shook his head. "Not yet, I'm afraid," he told her, an amused glint in his eyes. "I mean, I have thrown some big branches before but I haven't made a tree fall yet. No large ones, anyway. I've accidentally cut down a small one with a blade of air once but I don't think that counts. I may be a warrior but that doesn't mean I've stopped growing stronger and learning new skills. And I know someday I will be able to create gusts that are that destructive." As he spoke he wondered if he should also caution her to not use her powers just to show off when she got to that level. It was something he would probably remind her of every now and then during her training. What she did as a warrior then was up to her but before that he would have to make sure that she wouldn't grow into someone irresponsible. Not that he worried too much about that happening, it was just something he wanted to keep in mind. "The best way to find out is to try with some objects," he meowed. "There's a lot here we can use, like you said. But for your fist attempt you should try with leaves and small pebbles." He stopped and turned to face her directly. "I know you'll think that's too easy and I will have you try heavier objects too but I want to see how well you can control your air powers first. If you can get the leaves to move the way you want them to and how easily you can throw the pebbles. I'll see how well you do but you will also pay attention to how you feel moving them. Every cat has their own limits and needs to figure them out." Darkwhisper looked up at one of the trees around them and shot a small blade of air upwards, cutting off part of a branch with some twigs and leaves attached to it. He broke some of the twigs off but also left some on the thin branch. He didn't need to remove the leaves as some had fallen off when his attack had hit the branch. "You'll see how easy or difficult it will be for you to move those lighter objects and with that you should get a little bit of an idea of how much more you can manage," he said. "I will step in if you immediately try to move on to something that's too much of course. You know what is and isn't too straining for you but I'm not blind. I'll know if you try to take on too much." He gave her a warning look but it was still more lighthearted. "Now, you already know how to create gusts of wind and how to increase an already existing airflow. Try to use your abilities to move the leaves in front of you or that pebble over there," he told her, flicking his tail to gesture towards the pebble. "I will show you how it's done too but I'd also like to see how you would approach it. That way I can get a better view on what exactly we'll need to work on."

Cedarstorm medicine cat den — accompanied by: Hollyfeather, Mintpaw & Shadecreek Cedarstorm felt hesitant with Hollyfeather's second warning. He was determined to confront Thistlestar in a respectful, calm manner. However, he knew their leader was far from calm. It didn't mean he disliked her, but most cats knew she was difficult to get along with. Especially after the clan meeting, he assumed most of his clanmates were upset. He looked at the grey and white medicine cat, nodding in agreement. "I'll avoid her then. If she is in a bad mood, I won't bother with approaching her," he mewed before continuing. "If she initiates anything and seems upset, I will do what I can. I can buy enough time with a decent excuse."
The brown tabby tom padded away from Hollyfeather, made his way over to Mintpaw and Shadecreek. "Mintpaw, Shadecreek. Are you both hungry by any chance? I'm going to get prey for all of us," he explained, glancing at both cats. "Is there anything else either of you need?"

Oriolehop outside of camp -> nearing rushing river — accompanied by: Wolfpaw Oriolehop was quite lucky to have Wolfpaw as his apprentice. So far, neither of them had caused any problems with Thistlestar. He was confident that the two would never be split up like Frecklecloud and Mintpaw. Whatever game Thistlestar was playing seemed foolish and out of anger. He knew Shatterfrost and Ashberry didn't have much of a say regarding her behavior. He could only imagine how it would feel to be both deputies. It probably was stressful and overwhelming, not to mention the toll it took on their personal opinions. The tom wasn't exactly surprised by Wolfpaw's comment. He felt the same, but was iffy on sharing his opinion. The last thing he wanted was to be reprimanded. "Exactly. I'm not sure if she ever has," he replied. "Yes, we should. Lead the way!"
He padded after Wolfpaw, keeping his eyes and ears open for any sounds. Although the elemental badger was gone, it didn't mean other predators weren't lurking around. So far, there were no scents of trespassers or dangerous predators. Things seemed quiet in the Ivy Forest which was a good sign.
Noticing that his apprentice has slowed down a bit, Oriolehop followed suit. Not much was going through his mind as he chose to focus on Wolfpaw and their surroundings. Hearing Wolfpaw's voice, he turned to face him. The reminder of Dapplesky being Mintpaw's new mentor was a mixed bag. It was good for his daughter, but it was bad because she was not the type of cat to fight back. Dapplesky was young and had only been a warrior for six moons. He did not doubt his daughter's skills, he just had a terrible feeling about the situation. If anything, the ginger and white tabby felt that Dapplesky was forced to take her first apprentice. One that wasn't supposed to be an apprentice for another two moons to begin with. But... was he proud? Was he proud that the dilute calico had her first apprentice despite the circumstances? It was a question he preferred to avoid.
"I... Yes, she's his new mentor," he began, trying to ignore his uncertainties. "I am and will always be proud of Dapplesky. She does deserve be a mentor, but not because she is forced to. I just wish she wasn't chosen because she's not the kind of cat to confront Thistlestar. If Thistlestar had chosen to make Foxskip's litter apprentices the right way, then I wouldn't be so bothered."
Oriolehop allowed some silence to pass as he came to a pause. Guilt washed over him immediately. If Dapplesky had heard anything he told Wolfpaw... what would she say or think? He was be unnecessarily tough, cold, and protective. "I wish I could have spoken to Dapplesky after the meeting," he meowed, letting out of sigh. "I don't know how she feels about it, but I'm sure she's scared. I want to be there for her, but I think her mother was always better at that. Blacksong would have been proud no matter what."

Mintpaw-Medicine Cat Den-Cedarstorm, Shadecreek, Hollyfeather With thr others gone, it felt a lot more lonely, even if Shadecreek and the medicine cats were still present. At Cedarstorm's question he perked up a bit, not realizing just how hungry he has gotten with everything that had happened. "I wouldn't mind something to eat, if it's not to much trouble." At the second question, he had to curl his tail around himself, to try prevent asking for a leaf, as it wasn't a need it was a want, and sides he's not supposed to play with them anymore.

Sootpaw Ivy Forest — accompanied by: Darkwhisper Sootpaw let out a mrrow of amusement as Darkwhisper chuckled. At least he was offering her decent advice, but she knew it wouldn't stop her from trying. She was convinced she could move a small branch and no cat could sway her otherwise.
Slightly shocked, the tuxedo she-cat tipped her head to one side at her mentor's response. "I bet you could do it! If you can throw big branches, falling a tree doesn't sound that hard," she meowed before continuing. "Really? Are you more powerful as a warrior than an apprentice? How big was the tree that you accidentally cut down?"
Sootpaw had assumed that Darkwhisper always improved day in, day out with his skills. He was more skilled than her, but she didn't want to pry too much. She really did want to get some practice in so she could share her experience with her denmates. She wanted to be the strongest out of all of them. The bi-colored cat's ears pricked up once she heard her mentor speaking again. It sounded like they would start training soon, so she held her head high along with her tail. "Okay. Leaves and pebbles it is," she mewed, trying to hide a bit of frustration. She wanted to start off with bigger items, but Darkwhisper thought differently.
As soon as he turned to face her, she quickly did the same. "I mean, it does sound too easy, Darkwhisper. I guess I can deal with the smaller objects first," she admitted, shuffling her white paws. She hoped she wasn't being too forward with him.
The apprentice's attention turned to small blade of air that her mentor had launched. The thin branch, twigs, and leaves fell in their respective places. "I understand, I'll try to stick to the lighter objects," she replied although a bit disappointed. "Fineee. I promise that I won't take on too much."
Listening to the mottled tom's instructions, Sootpaw nodded towards him. She glanced at the leaves by her paws and then the pebble. "I got it," she told him before closing her eyes briefly.
Sootpaw started to focus on the green leaves and slowly pushed a bit of air against on of the leaves. The leaf began to float in the air, but it wasn't far off from the ground. She turned her focus to controlling the air, hoping it would lift the leaf up more (tags: Pineclaw )

————- ❦ ————- Slowripple with Weaselflare & Foxskip camp @ Pineclaw & Sand "I did, I hope she's alright." Slowripple said, her words followed by a sigh as she took another look around camp. Fortunately for her, Weaselflare was the one to spot her littermate first. Following close behind, Slowripple approached Foxskip with a kind smile and placed herself beside the other calico when Weaselflare turned to look at her. She didn't mind the younger warrior explaining their plan, in fact she took the time to give her sister an affectionate and comforting lick on the cheek as Weaselflare spoke. A purr rumbled in her throat when Foxskip agreed, and Slowripple moved back to smile at her. "I suggested the rolling hills, but we could go somewhere else if you want to!" She said excitedly, happy to spend time outside of camp, and with her littermate. It also felt like a good opportunity to get to know Weaselflare a little better, she didn't spend too much time with the younger warriors. ————- ❦ ————- Honeyblaze with Swiftclaw & Icepaw rushing river @ Brambletalon Unfortunately for him, Honeyblaze did notice the way he began rambling. If anything she was surprised by how much he talked about Brambletalon's hardships more so than his own. When there was a lull in the conversation she could feel the air between them go a bit awkward, finally glancing over to Swiftclaw and noticing the intent way he was looking at her. Seemed like he was waiting for her to respond. "Oh, Right," in all honesty Honeyblaze didn't really know how to respond. Was he looking for her pity or sympathy? It felt a little unclear. "Sounds like it was a hard time for the both of you." Then she paused afterwards, unsure if she wanted a response from him or if she should saw more. Honeyblaze then glanced back to Icepaw, as if his younger sister could help her out. What more was there to say? She could ask him about the situation more, but she didn't know how useful that would really be and it sounded like that was all there was to say on the matter.
Honeyblaze cleared her throat, ready to open her mouth to say something else when the river finally came into view. The relief hit her so hard she felt like it could've knocked her over. The black and white molly looked to the pair and gave a more genuine smile. "Looks like we're here. Are you ready to show off your skills, Icepaw?" The tall feline teased, moving with a faster gait that rivaled the young apprentice's, almost like she was trying to start a race. ————- ❦ ————- Peonypaw with Mothdapple & Patchpaw camp @ Dark & bluewonder Patchpaw's fluffy tail caught the silvery blue molly by surprise, making heat flood her cheeks and the tips of her ears. It had been a while since he'd poked fun of her in that way, she wasn't expecting it. Peonypaw never considered herself to fluster easily, but when it came to Patchpaw, well, that was a different story. The poor apprentice tried not to stammer when she finally remembered to respond. "Good, I mean, great! I'll see you later then." She struggled to keep her tone even, to not give away her excitement. When Patchpaw would finally run off, the guilt immediately began to creep back in when she turned to face Mothdapple and was questioned by her mentor. The glow of Patchpaw's presence was quickly beginning the dim and the molly sighed, flicking a rock away with her paw.
"I don't know what came over me, Mothdapple, I'm sorry." Peonypaw frowned and looked up at the older tom. "I shouldn't have lied like that but, well," she shifted a little uncomfortably, not knowing how to start. "I felt like I was going to be a burden when Patchpaw talked about maybe including in group training, so I wanted to make him feel left out too." Stars, it sounded worse when she said it out loud. It took everything in Peonypaw not to cringe at herself.
"I don't understand, Mothdapple." She looked down at her totem and lifted it up with her paw. "I'm supposed to be a peacemaker, supposed to hold myself with grace, but I feel like I'm always doing the opposite." With a heavy sigh, she turned her nose up to the sky like she was trying to see beyond the clouds. "Maybe StarClan just got it wrong?"

Icepaw - Rushing River w/Honeyblaze; 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 Icepaw watched with a little worry for a moment sensing the awkwardness in the air herself. They got away from camp to relax and as usual there was her brother getting a little to into the topic not helping the matter. A small part of her felt bad, knowing Swiftclaw wasn't the best for proper conversation. She wished he had been able to branch out more and get to socialize better with other cats. Something Icepaw was still surprised she managed to do herself considering how shy she had grown up. She gave a smile to Honeyblaze as she came up to her side with a faster pace and finally spoke. Her mood instantly lifting upon following the molly's gaze to the river. "Absolutely! Wanna race to the water's edge?" She mewed with a small laugh before bounding off as quick as she could. Swiftclaw - Rushing River w/Honeyblaze; 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 Swiftclaw had flinched on the inside at the pause before Honeyblaze finally responded. And as usual I've rambled on and made things awkward. Stupid mouse-brain! The silence and oddness of the air stung him for a moment as he looked down to his paws. She asked about him and he ended up speaking more of his father. To top it all off he realized he more than likely just made himself sound pathetic and seeking for attention. Why was it he always felt the need to avoid talking about his own feelings? Was it intentional or just a bad habit? Of course things were hard for him during training. He had to bust his tail off to prove himself and struggle on his own to discover how to use his powers. Wouldn't speaking all of that out to the molly just make things worse? He could try to talk about the better side of it all, but wouldn't it feel like he was just lying to himself? Then again, it's better than coming of as a sorry excuse of a cat. He didn't know Honeyblaze too well just yet, so it really wouldn't mean much to her right now with how struggling his past had been nor should she care. As Honeyblaze cleared her throat, he snapped out of his thoughts and looked back up following her and Icepaw's gaze towards the rushing river. He let out a small sigh of relief as the two of them picked up their pace and bounded of towards the waters edge. He then picked up his own pace to follow suite, but kept a few tail lengths behind. He knew he could outrun them, but then he'd definitely come off as a complete jerk seeking attention. Just breath and think before you speak next time.
(Just came upon the realization I did the same thing with Swiftclaw and Icepaw as I did with Ashfall and Glacierfjord. I built them with a specific personality in mind and then the siblings ended up swapping them with the other XD )
