Honestly, it would have ruined the entire series. it would have gone nowhere. Most likely, little evil Firepaw would have heard what's up with Tigerclaw and let it happen, allowing himself to sit back and reap the benefits of supporting Tigerclaw's plans. At the very least, it could have made for an interesting 4-5 books, but after that, it's likely that we would have never seen the dogs, or we would have never met Scourge, or WindClan would have never returned, just to name a few examples, and that makes for an awfully boring set of books.
Don't get me wrong, an "evil" Firestar would be an interesting concept to explore, but realistically, a pretty stunted one. Even if he rose up and overthrew Tigerstar, it wouldn't have been the most interesting arc to read about. When push comes to shove "the bad guy wins" or "protagonist is the bad guy" really doesn't lend itself to interesting literature.

Considering that the first series is form his POV, we would probably see him be evil. Maybe he uses he charm to get close to Bluestar and maybe exposing Tigerclaw is his way of gaining trust. IT probably wouldn't have made for a good story because in TLH, the clan would fight him because he is evil and the DF would fight him because Tigerstar would still probably be mad at him for exposing him.
Unless we discover that Tigerstar was actually the good guy or some plot twist like that. But that might ruin everything if we found out that our favorite cats were evil ans the villains are good. Though, it could be interesting.
