A slow breeze blows through your hair as you disembark the ship. Having been traveling for months, the time has come to leave its safe metal walls. The chirping of birds hits yours ears as he look over to see a man approaching the group. "Alright folks, let's get your settled and set up in the new housing!" You can suspect by his tone he's the current captain or leader of the colony. Now it's your time to decide, how will you help them?
~Rules~
1. No godmodding or anything of the like, people can get hurt.
2. No perfect characters, everyone has imperfections, and that's fine.
3. Please keep looks somewhat realistic, but I'm pretty lenient.
4. Follow the forum rules!!!!
5. Please do not join and never rp, if you leave for over a week with no word, your characters will be marked as such. If its longer than two weeks, you will be removed from the rp.

Planet Information
- Two Star System
- Higher temperatures then on Earth (Think constant 100s and 90s)
(Open to more suggestions)
Known Locations:
Camp: A grouping of small shelters and buildings surrounding a rather tall tower. The camp is broken up into three sections.
The Star Pine Forest: Named after a fairly dangerous tree that is found within. It's a dense forest just to the east of camp. It's land full of varied, large wildlife.
The Dancing Sands: A large coast just south of camp. The winds in this area move in a way that makes small dust devils along the sands. While not dangerous, it does annoy most who try to enjoy the waters.
The Isles of Mal: A small grouping of islands just off the coast. It was named after a young scientist who tried to go and collect samples, but returned badly injured. It is not known what exactly lurks there.
The World's Claws: A long mountain range to the north that blocks further exploration. The mountain peaks appear tall enough to scratch at the skies themselves. Some kids like to joke that monsters live there.
Camp Locations:
The Tower: A large tower at the camp's center. It was once part of the original ship to take people there. It is now used as a main lab for researchers and as a radio tower to contact other planets.
The Housing District: Located directly around the tower are small apartments and houses where the citizens of the colony rest and live.
The Production District: On the southern end of camp, are a few buildings where large fields surround them. Food and materials for clothing are produced in this area.
The Trading Hub: Located near the camp's borders is a small ship hub. People come and go here, buying and selling goods for the colony.
The Walls: A large set of walls surrounding the colony. They appear to be made out of rather thick metal slabs, made to keep out the more dangerous creatures. |

The CrewCaptain:Arcturus Delaney | 32 | Captain Arcturus is a rather short man, around 5'4, with dark brown hair and green eyes. He has a scar that goes over his right eye and down over his mouth. He's a rather stern man, though only due to wanting the best for those around him. He originally studied to be a teacher, though changed to becoming a ship captain upon hearing the need for those in that position. He is a gay trans man. ( moonclaw400 ) Scientists:Lyra Delaney | 32 | Scientist Lyra is a short woman, around 5'4, with dark brown hair and green eyes. She usually hair her hair tied back in a braid. She also wears a pair of dark rimmed glasses. She's rather polite, though more inclined to focus on her own tasks then those of others. Lyra had been studying to be a scientist when she heard of her brother's change in career. She decided to join his crew once he had gotten a ship and a mission. ( moonclaw400 ) Security Officers:Farmers/Ranchers:Citizens:Lucero Espinosa | 22 | Citizen Lucero is a nonbinary person with shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. They are usually seen with some kind of vest on. They are rather friendly, trying to be a person to listen if anyone needs to talk. They joined to crew as part of the citizens, though have a pretty good skill at sewing and repairing clothes. ( moonclaw400 ) Ellis Vanhauff | 28 | Citizens Ellis is 5'10 with a strong physique honed from both physical labor and rigorous high-grav regimens. He has sandy brown-and-blonde hair and hazel eyes. Ellis is a fix-it guy and mechanic in the colony and specializes in colony start up, often only staying for one or two years before requesting transfer to the next new outpost. He is adaptable and unflappable.

Known Plants and AnimalsThe Star Pine: A large tree, usually seen to be around 15' at full maturity. It's branches remain in an upright V-shaped position with elongated leaves. It possesses small, plain white flowers which become toxic fist-sized fruit. The plant's bark is brown with small spikes or thorns and its fruit and leaves being a lighter brown in color. The plant is known to be carnivorous, it's leaves acting to grab animals or people that try to climb it. |

[[ hey this looks interesting and I love worldbuilding, but is there any base to this world or? I'm assuming it's Earthlike and temperate, but are we free to come up with other anomalies like gravity, binary sun systems, mineral lodes, etc the Fun Stuff? ]]

The food here was quite bitter, but that was to be expected. It would take months for the standard process of accelerated growth chambers and genetic splicing to transform the native flora into crops with any flavor-- at least the time was measured in months: human selection had taken thousands of years back on Earth. Flavor was also difficult to select for, since it was so subjective. Who was to say if this berry should end up sweet, or sour, or if they should invest in creating two variants, each with their own unique flavor profile for the making of delectable jams? Ellis didn't very much care for that process, not after hopping three different exostations since he left home. Each colony had its own native food crops, its own challenges. The last planet he'd lived hadn't any edible natives at all --the process of nitrogen fixation on that planet had included an ammonia resevoir-- and it took nearly six months just to splice something that could survive the soil while also remaining non-toxic to humans. In comparison to that, this colony was rich with flora. His sandwich had three different greens in it, as well as a native jam. It didn't taste amazing, but it was edible. Ellis kept to the swath of shade cast by the tall, metal wall surrounding their camp. The shade was about as effective as tossing a handful of ice cubes in a hot spring, but at least it kept the glare of Zed from his eyes as he watched the other colonists bustle while he ate his lunch. |

Lucero was sat in the shade, taking their time on some work. Their hands moved carefully, trying to patch a hole in some pants. They had been tasked to repair some clothing for a group of citizens, happy to do so. They wiped the sweat from their face, taking note of Ellis. They sent a short wave in his direction, not sure if he had spotted them yet.

Leon is a rather tall, lean, yet well-muscled young man. He stands at 5'll and weighs 150 lbs. His hair is pin-straight, brown, and parted just a little off-the-middle. He has striking dark blue eyes that give his face a seemingly aloof, cold appearance. However, he is quite determined. He has a loyal, confident, and protective personality. Though faint, he has a long scar that runs from his forehead all the way down to his shoulder. It's unknown exactly how he got this scar, but Leon doesn't wish to talk about it. He was born into a rather poor family, and exceled in physical activities, more so than mental. He has a knack for guns, and owns specially-crafted ones.
