Adding this to the new page so I can add to it with more ease.
Things to add:
-Does anyone remember before Off Topics? We didn't have a place to do anything other than Warrior/Seekers. So they opened up Off Topics. It half full of those RPs and half of actually conversations. People were getting mad at the other so the mods split it off again. I once had an RP I was in be moved to Off Topics because we drifted from the RP and just started talking for a bit. We had to start over again on a new page.--Wildfire*
__
-Didn't have have to split the art thread??--sweetclover1
I think they were going to? But they decided not to because it would have split the art forum too much. They were going to split it between graphic shops and fan art but everything went into a lull for a while so they left it alone. I think that was also around the time they switched to the hoop.la forums.--Wildfire*
__
-There was this "Midnight Party" thing once that was pretty huge iirc, but I'm probably the only one who remembers it.

-Also, there was the Umadpelt Uprising. OOTS-local, but warranted its own TV Tropes page.--%Treestar%
Dawn of The Warrior Cats Forums
-The forums began in either June or July of 2009, it ended in Augest 2016.--mintedstar/fur
__
When the Warrior Cats Forums was released in 2009, the forums were extremely small. The forumboard was much more focused on Warriors at the time; there was no Seekers or Survivors board, or even an Art Forum or Off Topic Discussion. In the beginning, the forums had only a few Moderators; some moderators that existed then were Matthew-Moderator, Mary-Moderator, Warrior Cats Moderator, and a few others. The day the forums were released, "snail-posting" as it was called, was still enacted. Snail posting was the process of having to get your post approved by the admins/moderators before it was posted. This process made the forums slow, luggy, and made role-playing almost completely impossible, so it was done away with, although on the current forums, if you upload art from your computer, the Moderators will have to approve of it, however the process is faster and more efficient today. Back then, the forums even looked different, the colors being green, dark gray, and brown, and it also ran on a much older system called Eve. It was so old, old users used to tease it was a "dinosaur forum". In late 2013, the format changed to what it is today. The Warrior Cats Community was extremely small back then, but today it has grown and prospered to become a large, friendly society to celebrate our favorite book series. WCF has gone through countless changes over the past 5 years, and it is bound to go through countless more.--Rainfur100200
Dawn of the Art Forum
Manga Forum Days
This was before I joined, so I’m not sure of the exact date, but at first there was no Art Forum. It was created after an outcry in Warriors Manga of having no place to put non-Warriors-related art. The Manga section is only for discussing manga, but back then it was also full of manga-style or cartoony drawings and GNs; art was meant to be put in Off-Topic Discussions or Warriors Misc., but the latter allowed only Warriors art and the former, until the forum update in December 2013, had a glitch that prevented pictures from being posted (this glitch was also present in The Cats and The Original Series).
*A common misconception is that Joe S was banned/fired due to the arguments over getting an Art Forum, but this is not true. He had later posts, but they’ve been deleted due to the threads’ activities, and he’s “banned” because he left for a better job and can no longer have moderator functions.
Famous Banner Makers
Mothflutter (ClanDesigns)
Felyrah
Good King of Cats (also famous for KittyBling and his reskins)
needs more but as I make my own banners I've never needed to use shops so I don't know who the famous ones would be
KittyBling (which I believe is still up) is so far the only forum-friendly glitter text, as GKoC made and animated each letter individually. It’s fallen in popularity since its start but can still be found in places.
The reskins, primarily focused on the Nebula reskin, are recolors of the forums (they work on Firefox and possibly on Chrome; images and instructions can be found here). The original reskin changed the Clan symbols to an outer space design; the others did that and added variations to it. Charcoal made the posts dark gray. Total Charcoal made all boxes gray except for the banner at the top. Chrome and Glass made the posts dark gray but other boxes pale and semi-transparent. The original codings no longer work, but page two of the thread contains one called the Hoop.La Emergency Eyesore Relief Skin that does work with the update.--Hollyfrost14 of Stoneclan
Scooter also made a reskin; this one makes everything dark gray. It can be found here.
Famous GNs
The Amethyst: I believe this one was by Maplestar. Unfortunately I know very little about it, but I do know that it was about wolves who represented (or were at least connected to) types of gemstones. If anyone has more information that would be very helpful!
The New Clans: Ebonycloud’s GN is at least one of the most famous on the forums, and not too long ago it was undoubtedly first place. The beginning features most of the Clans dead. Wolfpatch of ThunderClan (who seemed to be the cause of the deaths), Swanfeather of ShadowClan, Phoenixstep (a medicine cat) of RiverClan, and Tigerlily and Ghostclaw (littermates) of WindClan set out on a journey to keep the warrior code alive, and gradually the story of the Clans’ destruction is revealed by spirits. But the cats have dangerous animals in their souls, and some of them are unstable. Ebonycloud’s style appealed to many people and had a strong influence on the styles of other Manga/Art Forumers back when The New Clans was up. However, she ended up moving to a different site, and I believe she quit it fairly soon afterward.
War of the Clans: Breezeleaf is often accused of copying Ebonycloud, but this does not appear to be the case. She attempted a relatively similar drawing style in places, but the plot was very different. Ferretkit is sent from StarClan to assist Blossomkit, and there is a constant threat of war between LightClan and DarkClan. This comic was extremely popular until it was suddenly quit; some of it can be found elsewhere.
Internet Cat: BlueCheese’s Internet Cat comic was deleted due to focusing on websites (the idea was websites in general, but it mentioned quite a few specific ones). Internet Cat accompanies Firefox in a quest to find sitegems (each website contained one). Firefox, Safari, and Chrome all need to find as many sitegems as possible so as not to be forgotten by Internet users—Internet Explorer has dropped out of the race and become pathetic. Internet Cat, not being a browser, receives help from the other competitors—and then Safari is taken by a virus, and Internet Cat goes to help. It can be found on another site, though I don’t know whether it’s been continued that far past what was here, as I can’t figure out how to find newer pages.
Crystal’s World: Sorrel~♪ describes it as “a science-fiction webcomic with elements of horror. It also has themes of war, romance, and politics, though I don’t recognise these as genres in this context.” Princess Veronica/Veronika (both spellings are used at least once) hears of danger for Amele while Amele runs away for, to her, no apparent reason. It can be confusing, but Sorrel is willing to explain it.
The Power of Four: I’m unable to find their names at the moment (I believe two were Icepaw [water] and Duskpaw [fire]?), but in a four-Clan set up, ‘Starbrow’ created four elemental power cats. After discovering their powers, each is taken to the (rather ditzy) odd-eyed Gooseberry, who appears to have some unexplained power of her own. Wolfpaw, Icepaw’s sister, who also has odd eyes, is shown to have a connection to the powers as well, but progress was slowed considerably by an almost equally popular prequel about Gooseberry’s past.
Homeless Heart: Dawnmist’s Princess GN is still up on the Art Forum, where it is finished. Princess’s Twolegs disappear, and she goes to her brother in ThunderClan for help. But Princess doesn’t quite fit in. The style somewhat imitates that of the Warriors Mangas, making it feel more like a Warriors story.
A Rocky Foundation (and its prequel Zombie Cat and sequel A Rocky Destiny): *Sparrow’s comics are easily the most popular now; while updates are much less frequent than in the past, the already cute cartoony art is becoming better and better. The concept is simple: what if Brambleclaw was never born? Instead, five rogues come to ThunderClan. The comic is a spoof, so Rocky, the savior of the Clans, is a fish-loving pyromaniac. When the Twolegs invade, ThunderClan must look to him for help.
Dappled Leaves: Hollyfrost14 of StoneClan’s GN was deleted due to inactivity, but a year after this happened, someone was looking for it and she put it back up. The length (600 pages total, as it’s completed) turned several people away, but those who did read mostly stayed, as updates happened extremely quickly (it lasted from September 3rd, 2011to May 6th, 2012). Dappleface of SkyClan longs to be leader, but for some reason connected to Firestar of WindClan (the main target of a group of rogues called the Warriors of the Night) her own leader, Swirledstar, hates her. Through SkyClan’s traditions, a few traitors, and some unlikely circumstances, however, she does succeed—and then Swirledstar returns, stripping Dappleface of all rank, at the same time as her apprentice is brutally murdered. But the Warriors of the Night are planning to strike again. Dappled Leaves now has a sequel called Falling Petals, which has much slower updates and is unfinished. The art is nothing special but most characters are distinct.
Life in BloodClan: TinyBlueJay’s story focused on a young cat named Bandit abandoned in Twolegplace. She manages to get by on her own for a short time, but BloodClan soon finds her, and Scourge takes an interest. Both his cats and a group of apparent rebels want Bandit to help them (she ends up sticking with BloodClan), and she winds up owing a favor to a rat. The GN was discontinued, but the ending was explained: Bandit figures out how to stick longer claws to her own using honey, which helps her repay the rat and give BloodClan their claw extensions.
Sandstorm’s Path: Although the art in the beginning was…low-quality, Bristlestream improved throughout the GN. I don’t think it was ever actually finished, but it takes place when Sandstorm is going to have Firestar’s kits. She explains that she was never in love with Dustpelt. Firestar worries about having kits while Cinderpelt is stressing over having to help his mate when she loves him too. With Brightheart’s help Cinderpelt manages to overcome her doubts and help Sandstorm give birth. I don’t know if it got any further than that as it seemingly disappeared.
Twisted Forest: Dawnpaw, a cat with radial hypoplasia (meaning that her legs and tail are twisted and crooked), struggles in her training. Her sister Spottedpaw accidentally scares away her prey, leading to a vicious fight that gets both of them in trouble. o0MossStar0o (my apologies if I messed up the patterns at the sides) later said she was not proud of the GN and would not be continuing it. Although not at the level of Moss’s current art, it was actually quite good.
Rogues!!: Dreamwonder’s comic has gone through a couple of different versions (and for a while she replaced it with one called Happy Demon), two of which exist in the Art Forum. The original plot involved five rogues (and later a sixth) coming to help ThunderClan stop a series of murders, while the current main one is about those rogues going to school to become BloodClan warriors. Scourge’s daughter Jenny has it in for the main character, Rin. His brother Ethan (claiming to be an unrelated cat named Victor) is embarrassed by him, and his friend Calvin thinks he’s a she-cat for a while. It’s not updated very often, but it hasn’t been quit either.
ShadowClan’s Fate: Graypatch of RiverClan is targeting Rainstar of ShadowClan, the main character. But when both he and Burrowstar die, it becomes Rainstar’s responsibility to pick the next leader. Meanwhile, a former kittypet now called Snowshine fights for her place in the Clan and an as-of-yet unnamed pair of forbidden lovers worry about their future. The art was good at the beginning and continues to improve.
cool comic: rawr!’s comic was extremely short, and I debated whether to include it or not, but while it was up it experienced high popularity. As it’s so short, the plot is very simple. A yellow dog wants to befriend a gray cat, but the other cats bully the gray one for talking to him. The gray cat eventually decides that the dog’s friendship is more important than the other cats’ respect, and the two become close friends. The art was simplistic and cute, which was fitting for the story.
The 6: Autumndance’s GN never had an explosion of posts, but it lasted for quite a while. A girl named Lilia is taken to a world of dragons by her dragon counterpart Cassiel. It turns out there are six humans necessary for the dragons to win a war. Little is known past that as it was dropped at 37 pages. It wasn’t officially quit but it appears to be dead.
Purple Thunder (Wildclaw/Twilight): Purple Thunder has (so far) two different volumes, neither of which is finished yet. Twilight’s powers bring death to her enemies and prey; Wildpaw’s powers have not been shown in quite as much detail (although her story is much longer right now), but she has the ability to bring dead prey back to life. After Wildpaw’s siblings (aside from Gempaw [spelled Jempaw for quite a bit of the story]) are killed by a jealous tom named Dullshadow and her mentor becomes furious with her, Wildpaw ends up in what seems to be another dimension speaking to Index, the god of knowledge. He tells Wildpaw that she holds the future and must return to WaterClan. The drawings are blurry to make updates faster, and okami wildclaw has not quit; it hasn’t been updated since December only because she’s been having computer and tablet issues.
Yin and Yang, Broken Wings, The Unforgiven, and Skyfall: Hawktalon, is still working on Skyfall, but the first three are finished. Yin and Yang is about sisters named Yinpaw and Yangpaw; after Yangpaw, believing him dangerous, kills Yinpaw’s forbidden love Stonepaw, the sisters fight. It takes a battle for them to forgive each other. Broken Wings features Princess Ariadne, a runaway winged cat from the Cloud Kingdom, and Yangpaw’s son Stonethunder. Ariadne is to be put to death for running away, and this story also carries the message of forgiveness. In The Unforgiven, a mysterious spirit possesses Crowpaw, taking advantage of his wish for a second wing, while Ravenpaw is trapped in a blizzard and Mockingbirdpaw is in trouble for accidentally trespassing. Skyfall is a prequel about King Minos’ kithood. The art in Yin and Yang wasn’t exactly brilliant, but Hawktalon, constantly improved.
Scarlet Lies and Fireleaf’s Fate: These stories by Fireleaf of LightClan have rather similar ideas behind them of an apprentice, the pariah of the Clan, facing prejudice and being bullied and tormented by her Clanmates. They each lasted a surprisingly long time for the lack of updates. Fireleaf’s Fate still exists as a fanfiction.
I Am Very Strangeness: Hollyfrost14 of StoneClan has been updating frequently since May 2012; the comics are about funny things in her own life. There have been lots of “copies” of it by other people, but this is the best-known and longest, and the one that’s led to it briefly becoming a fad twice.
wings of blood: Snake star has quit this GN, but it was here for a long time. A cat named Blood joins SunClan and becomes Bloodpaw; I’m having trouble remembering some of the details, but Soulpaw (confirmed to become Souleye) becomes close friends with her. They’re betrayed by Angelpaw. Meanwhile, their rival Clan MoonClan is having troubles as well, and one of their apprentices, Midnightpaw, ends up SunClan’s prisoner. It turns out that Sun is controlling MoonClan; the GN was quit just after this revelation.
cats wings: Snake star is still continuing this one; as I’m typing this there are 85 pages. Windpaw, Blazepaw, Rainpaw, Thunderpaw, Rosepaw, and Vio are given spirits’ powers to save the Clans (respectively speed, fire, “living in a dream”/breathing underwater, something connected to passing judgment, healing, and disappearing).
Outcast: powerpelt’s shiny art is appealing (though occasionally slightly confusing). The Kosmich Foxes prepare for war. Malin picks up Comet for training and becomes increasingly frustrated with her annoying nature (as well as the other foxes). I can’t seem to load anything significant past that, as powerpelt’s art always takes forever on my computer.
Taken by Twolegs: Stripeshine doesn’t/didn’t update much; between updates it always appeared to be dead, which is why I’m holding out hope that more will come. Dawnpaw is, obviously, taken by Twolegs. A pair of kittypets named Lightning and Tiger travel home with her; Lightning is supposed to kill her, but he refuses. A spirit named Foxwhisker explains the story of how his brother Blazeheart became evil. Only Dawnpaw can defeat him, but she must first believe she can.
Race the Wind: I don’t remember who made this, but it was a highly entertaining story. It was slightly confusing (not badly), so the details of the plot are fuzzy, but Calandryll, Confetti, and two other cats end up struggling against evil cats. Calandryll is captured and I think he receives wings? The kitten can sense that he and the fourth cat are still alive, and the whole group holds out hope.
Mousepelt23 was known for making tons of GNs but never finishing. The only title I remember is Fire’s Ice, in which two cats end up in the wrong Clans and feel they don’t belong. I remember one about Bramblestar and one about mermaid cats, but unfortunately this is all I can come up with.
Leopardbreath789 had a rather good GN about a skunk warrior as well as a Pokémon comic, but she is embarrassed by both of them and I don’t remember the titles. if I need to expand more I can
The most infamous GN I can think of was the one that sparked flame wars for days multiple times until its last deletion. I don’t remember the title or the author’s name. Her cats didn’t look very catlike; they had extremely large, tall heads and very human eyes and hairstyles, and it was honestly sometimes difficult to tell that they were cats. (Styles can allow for oddities but in the end, in most types of art, cats should look at least somewhat like cats.) The lines were shaky and as far as I remember all views were from the front. It featured large blocks of neon text on neon backgrounds; it was a relief when it had the occasional purple on red or blue on blue as those could at least be deciphered. The author could take no criticism and would respond extremely angrily to the slightest suggestion, insisting that their art was amazing (now I do agree that art isn’t that important but it was difficult to tell apart the characters and impossible to see from the pictures what was going on [and of course the illegible text was no help]) and that blocks of text were necessary to the plot.
if anyone thinks of more or has a better way to explain something (especially if I've made a mistake) then that would be wonderful
also I'll keep thinking of sections to add
AS FOR PEOPLE maybe Emeraldripple, LightFlame, Basement Cat, Hopesplash, and/or GKoC (though I discussed him a little above) and definitely Dawnmist--Hollyfrost14 of Stoneclan

The Manga Forum-
Back before the Art Forum was even thought of, there was the Manga Forum. It was rarely used to discuss the actual Warriors mangas, and was the first basic Art Forum.
It was rather popular in its day, but it was also rather sketchy at times. There were many younger kids on it in 2009 that would often get into fights over art and other silly things.
In 2010, The Art Forum was launched, and the Manga forum became obsolete. There was a thread from a Moderator on it after a while that read “Do not post your pictures here anymore, it is not an art gallery. The Art Forum has been made for that.”
This Forum is rarely used now, and the posts are now actually about the mangas. You might notice that a lot of “Why I hate (this cat)” threads on there along with other random messages.--Mousepelt23

Writer's Guild
We are a group of writers who gone through many many things together. We may have become a chatroom of sorts, but that never deters from our purpose - to grow as writers and to achieve our authoring dreams. In many senses we're not just random forumers chatting and bonding over writing, we're a family who welcomes every new member with open arms. People have come and gone, we've celebrated the additions and mourned the losses. We've held parties and celebrations and have had good laughs all around. The Writer's Guild isn't just a chatroom for writers to gain advice. This is a unique group of people that are family. This has been founded by Silverfang back on 10th April 2011. For five years, we've grown into a magical place. Now we have breached the part where we're in uncharted grounds, but we thrive because we have each other.--storywriter
OTD NIGHT OWLZ
January 22nd, 2013. It was late at night, around 11:30 EST, and OTD had slowed to its usual post-9:00 crawl. There was just a handful of people on at the time when a new thread titled, "Who all is on?" popped up. Everyone was bored with the same few active threads that were still breathing that late, so we naturally flocked to the new topic.
It started out as just a chatroom. But it was bumped up again the next night.
Fading Dawn, the thread creator, decided to turn it into an official late-night chat. It was titled "The Night Owlz," to reflect the nature of its regulars. A curfew was put in place: nobody was allowed to post on the thread between 7:00am and 7:00pm. Every new member had to pick "secret mission codenames," which became their name everyone on the thread knew them by. Like most OTD chatrooms, it wasn't a particularly serious topic, and most conversations were us fooling around. To help encourage regular activity, ranks were established. The original posters of the thread became the Parliament (a word meaning both a flock of owls and a council), who acted as the thread moderators. Regularly active members had the status Barnmate, and from there could be promoted to Parliament. Newbies were known as Fledglingz.
OTD Night Owlz was a rampant success. The original thread has 2,985 pages and over 44k posts. Many other popular chatrooms were inspired by the Owlz, such as the OTD Animals and OTD Pokemon. It became the place we all looked forward to posting at at the end of the day, especially after school.
It has been deleted a few times. The first time was because a fight broke out due to a troll. The second thread didn't last very long, as some of the members discussed the troll despite being told not to, and the mods deleted it again. It has been deleted two more times after that, although I don't remember the reasons. We had some particularly dramatic members, so trouble could be had. The fifth thread was on the old Warriors Forums when the site was shut down.
The Night Owlz struggled with activity from mid-2014 til the forum's end. I believe this can be chalked up to two reasons: first, much of OTD had already tried the chat out, as joining became a fad but few became regulars. Second, because a lot of the old regulars were leaving the forums or just being generally inactive due to school and other responsibilities.
Since moving to these forums, the Night Owlz have discovered a surge of activity and popularity once more.
The owlz have been a big impact on my life. Fading Dawn and I became forum sisters, then best friends. Now we see each other in real life a few times a year. And of course, the rest of my friends there.
Some notable members:
Fading Dawn (Toby), the creator; .:Mapleshadow:. (Obidiah); Shadowstalker (Quies); ❀ℓєgєη∂ ιмρєяιαℓ❀ (Nic); Summerhawk (Rowan); Rainbowtalon (Robot); »Icєclαw« (Ellie); »ƑαƖcση (Avery); Tidestripe (Mari); pαɴтнerѕнαdow (Eises)
I'm sure there's more, but I don't have the greatest memory. There was also John/Martin, Santos, Appie (Appaloosa), Ettie, Herobrine, and Sylvia, but I do not remember what their screen names were.--Shadowstalker
OTD Animals
The Pants Family
The Pants family was led by a now banned member called Thrushpool. Every chatter/member that joined there would be given a name ending in pants (For Example; Sandinmypants, Featherpants, etc.) They started out as any other thread in June 2012 with around ten members. However they quickly grew more popular. They became very influential in the Off Topic Discussion areas. They were deleted several times, each time creating a new thread, there were around 16 in the end. All got removed by the Mods. They were always posting outside links, and talking about topics that were deemed to "adult" for the Forums. They were eventually forbidden to make Pants threads and Thrush was banned in August for remakign them so many times. It is said once Thrushpool and SparklySeaPants had a fight over who was the coolest, but came to the conclusion SparklySea was the coolest member. They also apparently had a graveyard for members who had left the Forums or had been banned. In the end they made there own site and came in contact with MBC.--Brightspirit of Windclan
__
-i've never been a fan of that entry, because it never tells how the pants family actually began in the first place. the original 'pants family' joke thread was created by denim jeans as a parody of their name. people then started coming in and identifying themselves as pants with you as one of the more involved members and the one that came up with the idea to turn it into an actual organized forum family. after the first few threads were deleted and denim was banned, you became known as the leader and the owner of the denim account was left unknown by most and then y'all just kind of moved on from there
that's just how i remember it, anyway. --Roswell
Imaginary Friends:
So basically, this was a very popular chat thread in OTD, around 2013 I think? Anyway, the premise was that everybody who joined had several "imaginary friends", and everyone would roleplay their imaginary friends in a "script" format. We'd have huge story arcs and adventures with our IFs. Loads of fun. Everyone also had "imaginary enemies" (IEs) and "imaginary neutrals" (INs). Unfortunately, most of the thread's members seemed to have a certain affinity for trying to get as much past the mods' radar as possible, which led to the thread being deleted over and over and over again. Finally, the IFs members got fed up and moved to their own site on ProBoards. They did this right around the time that I, a member of the thread, took a break from the forums, so when I returned, I was confused that I couldn't find the thread. Had they finally given up on trying to stay alive? But a few months later, I saw a post by the thread's founder, Mosseyes, which alluded to the fact that they'd moved to another website. After some searching, I managed to find it and rejoin them. We chatted there for another year or two, but unfortunately, everyone got in a huge fight about a year ago, and people slowly stopped talking. Now the site is dead, a barren, frozen monument to that ragtag group of intrepid friends who went through so much together, only to fall from within. I only know of one other former IFs member who is on this site, but if the rest of you are out there... I love you.
So there you go, that's the story of the IFs. --%Treestar%
Warrior's Game
Does anyone else remember the online Warriors game that they were making? I remember the mods making so much hype for it, and even posted links for the forum users to apply to beta test it! I remember getting accepted as a beta tester, and the game was amazing. It was a little laggy, but the animations were smooth ( same art and animation style as the prey hunting game of the official site) and you had to play as a kit/ apprentice. It was up to you and four rouges named River, Thunder, Shadow, and Wind find a safe place for them and their cats. They had the game designer on the fourms, and even had their own section for topics. Then one day out of the blue, all the topics were locked, both HC and the mods acted like the game never existed and never answered anyone's questions on this subject. This was long before OOTS AND DOTC, and it this was back in 2009. My memory is a little fuzzy, so hopefully someone else can help add to this subject! c: --therubyfox
Ze Place of Fangirling (And other famous chat-rooms)
When Hamsters Ruled the Forums
The Cat Family
This was late 2012 - basically the cat family was a bunch of users in otd that had the word 'cat' at the end of their name and you could only join if you had that word at the end of your name. notable users in this group were 'black cat' and 'white cat', i believe who were the creators of it. hence how sea cat was born. i used to be 'breezelight' but really wanted to join the cat family so made an account called sea cat so i could join--seacat
The Awesomez
The awesomez were a 'superior' group of active members in 2010/11/12 who roamed oots and were best friends who many people admired. notable members include 3 kits, mooncrystal, tearpool, lightflame, starblaze, ceiling cat and basement cat plus many more. it was very hard to join them. i joined them in 2010 as breezelight and we are all still best friends now, with a skype group and we are planning a meetup. so yeah we're still very active but obviously not known as the awesomez anymore. we've all grown up now.--seacat
Forums Apocalypse
-Late 2011-early 2012: Waaay waaay back in the day, sometime in late 2011 or early 2012, when the first forum apocolypse happened, and literally no one could respond to threads for over an hour so people literally flooded otd and fanclans with shout outs to each other and someone would respond with anothet shout out post--candler
WHAT THE WAFFLES
WHAT THE WAFFLES thread. I don't even remember what it was about, only that is lorded over Misc for years and permanently seemed to have "500 PAGE/1000 PAGE/2000 PAGE/etc PARTY." As I said, I don't remember what the topic actually was-- it might have been a karma game at once point, but I think it turned into a chatroom. It was made by cakeengland

House of Awesomeness
The House of Awesomeness was first created on the 18th of June, 2013, by me, ۰ƤƖƝƘƖЄƑƲƦ۰, a one month old member at that time. The thread does not resemble the current thread much, it had a different layout, a very bad one I’ll admit (see screenshot below) *cringes*, few chatters, was more of a den than a chatroom, and had a whole different name. Its first name was “Pinkie’s Mansion” yes… yes… I know, just what, and it introduction even said, “You are in Pinkiefur’s Mansion… (It's like a den, but fancier, and awesomer.)” I don’t even know what I was thinking, it reeked of noob, and it got the attention it asked for too, hardly anyone chatted there, except for a couple of my real life friends when we had to get to an off topic thread.
As I grew forum-older that summer, and lost my noob status, the thread began to change. The title changed from “Pinkie’s Mansion,” to “the house of awesomeness,” “[something fancier with symbols and stuff]” to its current title, “{◎}--{ƬHΣ HΘƱЅΣ ΘF ÁШΣЅΘΜΣ∏ΣЅЅ}--{◎}” The thread’s layout also improved, thankfully. And although we would periodically have conversations on the thread, it still wasn’t a go to place to chat yet.
Then, on October 3rd 2013, my real life BFF, Rainpath117, created a clan called Sootclan. People we knew from the fanfiction forum (such as Nutpelt5216 and Katanaheart), people we knew in real life (such as Foxfury and Turtlestep), as well as just people who were browsing fanclans (such as Gira and Icestorm) joined, and the clan grew successful pretty fast. The House of Awesomenss was sometimes used as a place for off topic chat. We all became good friends, and this was the start of The House of Awesomenss family. Then, fights broke out. People thought, among other things, that other people were taking too much control of the plot, and they started quitting the clan. A few tried to keep it going, but it died out, and attempts to create a version 2 failed. So, there was a bunch of people who had become really good friends, but didn’t really have a stable thread to chat with each other on anymore. That’s why they all slowly migrated over to THOA in the middle of fall 2013, and the chat really began to take off.
The thread became more of a chat and less of a den, my personal links and kits disappeared from the front page and were replaced with things like emoticons we named and gave personalities to, and member’s art. Hardly anything stayed the same from the first time I created the page except the rooms in the house. We gained pages quickly, especially on the old forums, where it was only 15 posts per page, and got to celebrate a huge milestone, 1000 pages. (The pages quickly vanished down to around 600 when we moved to hoop.la, but still) Then, in the middle of November we started celebrating the holidays. We decorated a Christmas quote tree, (see screenshot below) played various holiday games, and most importantly, hung virtual mistletoe. The rules with mistletoe was that the first poster who posted on a page that’s page number ended in a zero had to “dramatically rollplay kissing the second poster on the page.” It was funny and lighthearted at first, the first ever couple to get stuck under the mistletoe was Larkfeather and Xerneas and their rollplay looked something like: “//kisses X” and that was that. However, the rping started getting more and more detailed, and soon after we got deleted for the first time. That was a tragedy for us, because it was our first time getting deleted like that, and we had accumulated so many pages. Someone, I think it was Rainpath117, posted the first thread titled “oh nononono,” which has now become a custom whenever we get deleted.
After a few days emailing the mods, we had got a copy and pasted reply to why we were deleted, annoying and irritating to say the least. We created another thread, and after some debate over if we should keep the mistletoe thing going we decided to go for it. Our thread got deleted for the second time after about 100 pages. --Dragostea Din Tei Kitty 333

Blood Rebellion of 2012
The rule about blood in the Art Forum is this: drawings may contain blood. They may not contain excessive blood or gore. A blood warning must be posted for those sensitive. However, in the summer of 2012, Matt began taking down all drawings with any blood at all, even if it was an extremely low amount and there were clear warnings in both the title and the top of the thread itself. Since it was mostly my drawings being taken down, I was the one emailing the mods and, well, complaining in FAS. Over email I was told (four times during a back-and-forth conversation) that drawings were no longer allowed to contain any blood at all and that blood was considered gore. On the forums, people (myself included) began posting Warriors fanart of cats with new battle scratches covered up by smiley faces and rainbows (I think the most famous were Longtail with happy faces instead of eyes and Tigerstar with a rainbow across his muzzle). Several forumers became annoyed that we were using rainbows sarcastically as they would use them in their art and wanted to be taken seriously, and the “Blood Rebellion” slowed down, but it didn’t immediately stop, especially once people remembered that we have a scarred (not bleeding but rather destroyed) Brightheart avatar. While Matt was deleting all art with blood, Elizabeth was in FAQs and FAS telling everyone that there was no rule against it, which contradicted both Matt and my emails. The confusion lasted for a couple of weeks, but eventually the blood rule went back to normal. Oddly enough, I don’t know of anyone getting banned over it. should there be anything about it being me (mentioning my screenname), should I take out any mention of the writer of the paragraph being the one to email the mods, or is it fine as is--Hollyfrost14 of Stoneclan
The Cat Killing Scare
In June 2015 mods began deleting topics were cats were killed. A forumer by the screen name of mintedstar/fur was the first to ever report of a topic being deleted in FAQs. She searched the words Cat Killing, when coupled together to see if anyone had ever asked a similar question, but there was nothing. So she asked why her new graphic novel, which had not depicted any gore or blood, had been deleted for this unheard of rule.
No one knew. As the days went on more and more topics were deleted simply because a cat had died. Moderators were split down the middle on this new rule. Some didn’t enforce it and said it didn’t exist. Others said that cats could no longer die in stories, fan clans, or graphic novels unless it was from natural causes.
The forumers, as expected, didn’t like this new rule. They posted petitions and protests. The moderators had to go all the way to the head mod just to see if it was a new rule or not. The verdict? It was ruled that cats could die as long as it wasn’t gory (i.e. the same as it had been before).
As far as I know, no one was directly banned for Cat Killing. However, some were probably banned or suspended for causing a few arguments over this temporary ghost rule.
This time in forum history is now called the Cat Killing Scare.--mintedstar/fur
MageBoneClan
MageBoneClan it is. Well little children, it's time for a story.
It all started back in the September of 2009. MegaBoneClan, also known as MBC, or Mega BoneClan, was created by a member called Thundersky. MBC was a very unique Clan considering it was the first kit-stealing Clan. Kit-stealing, now very popular, is where members would steal roleplayed kits from Clans, now adoption centers and other places too, on the Forums. Many other Clans emerged from this with the same activity, and kit-stealing has never truly worn away, it has become a popular trend. Other notable kit-stealing Clans included RevengeClan(RC), RisingEvilClan(REC), and DarkFountainClan (DFC). MBC is also different considering it was the first, and also the only actual Clan to be banned as a whole. The moderators have outlawed it due to the result of many "flame wars" (Defined if you need it) because the Clan would bully or insult other Forumers and even members of their own Clan, mostly the newer ones. The main reason it was banned though was due to "ban-hopping". This is where a member would get around being banned simply by creating a new account. And also it was mainly a chat thread more than anything else instead of roleplaying. Many times before other Clans have tried to "reincarnate" the Clan. Notable Clans are RisingEvilClan; a Clan that was MBC's rival and many flame wars were held, RevengeClan; who they roleplayed many wars with in the 2010's, ~MidnightRose~; a member whom was banned (I think) and caused many flame wars, Tha Pants Family; a group they were allies with in 2012 after both were banned, MegaSkullClan; a reincarnation of the Clan created by Willowcloud in summer of 2011, A Scattered Clan; another reincarnation of MegaBoneClan created by Graydawn shortly after the clan was banned. Deleted and Graydawn refused to make it, so MSC was made, A Clan Forgotten: another reincarnation of MegaBoneClan, created in spring of 2012 by Kindledflame. --Brightspirit of Windclan

-For clarification for younger users, MegaBoneClan was a kit stealing clan (a very, very successful one). Think Brambleclan, The Sisterhood, etc. I can't remember exactly why, but the clan got banned from the forums, no one was allowed to remake any kind of MegaBoneClan.--A crying Nidoking

They made an offsite forum for themselves, not sure if it's up and running anymore!
I in MBC around the time they were forever banned from the forum. The thread for MBC initally got deleted several times, some reasons being "describing mating," "personal talk" and someone mentioning they were bi. Eventually the mods got tired of them, I think, so they made a site for themselves and the thread got deleted because someone posted an outside link.--Cat

SavageClan and the rise of Kit-Stealing
You all know them - some of you might even fear them. SavageClan, one of the oldest, most well-known Clans on the entire forums. SavageClan is solely a kit-stealing Clan, with focus on bringing a good name to kit-stealers while keeping the forum hobby alive. SavageClan has been rebuilt twelve times, as of 4/24/14, and first started to come about when kit-stealing started getting attention on the forums. For a period of about two or three years, kit-stealing was every forumer's favorite form of forum entertainment, and it generated a lot of other kit-_______s. Everyone wanted in, and it wasn't very hard to find a good community to join. I myself was a member of SavageClan for a while. Eventually, due to unfortunate circumstances, kit-stealing began to die. Recently, a community has, however, sprung up in an attempt to bring the forums into a new era of kit-stealing. --cocokat

-The OotS weddings, where people would choose characters from the books as mates and "marry" them. --firefeather
__
the oots weddings were set up in around 2010 i believe and overall there were around 8 of them. for each oots wedding, 2 different members of the awesomez were asked to host them (which basically consisted of making the thread, structuring what happened, and giving out the vows). the awesomez created the oots weddings as a way to bring everyone together. basically around of a couple of weeks before the first oots wedding, a thread was made so people could claim the cats they wanted to marry, because people couldn't marry the same cat. as you can imagine, most of the main characters got taken very quickly due to the popularity of the idea.
the oots weddings were basically an rp thread for each wedding made in the fan clan section of the forums, where everyone would rp with each other and their chosen cats. the hosts of the oots weddings would give out wedding vows which each rper would have to repeat with their name and their chosen cats name in the vows where applicable. after this it was mainly a party and 'taking your cat into the bushes' was a very popular thing.
then when the next oots wedding arised, the claiming thread would be brought back up so more people could choose their cats and it got to the point where so many characters were chosen (even the very minor ones were taken) that people started to marry characters outside of warriors which showed how popular they really were.--seacat

Advice Columns
These aren't exactly as well-known as other things, but a while back, advice columns used to be everywhere on the forums. A lot were pretty successful, and some were hugely successful. They offered forumers a chance to get to know other forumers and settle their personal problems. Advice Columns had a pretty brief time reigning the forums before the began to die out as their owners left the forums and made way for a new generation that wasn't as adjusted to that style of posting. --cocokat

Leafsong's Advice Column was the most successful. It had over fifty pages. Not sure what happened to it-- I think the mods decided the columns didn't belong in FAQ, and moved them to OTD. They probably died out because of the move.

Kit-Stealing
-Kit stealing was going to other clans and adoption centers and "stealing" kits via roleplay. It was a way of growing your clan and having fun. Some well known kit stealing roleplays were/are Megaboneclan, The Sisterhood, Brambleclan, etc. Being successful is the same as any other clan - lots of members, lots of fun, plots, etc. MBC and The Sisterhood kept getting deleted and The Sisterhood eventually died away. Kit stealing was really popular in the WCF's old days.
Some people took kit stealing too far and would steal without permission (which was considered spam). And it took on new forms: kit steaking, hugging, dressing, anything like that. It was also considered spam. That is how the "No kit-_____ing" rule developed.
There was also a counter-kit stealing group called the Kit Savers that would "fight" (roleplay with kit stealing roleplays) to return kits to their clans or give them a better home. That was so long ago though. I think the last person who ran it was Silverbreeze.
imo, kit stealing was a lot of fun. I was a kit stealer myself and I really miss it, too bad people did it tastelessly, now it's pretty much universally banned across fanclans.
I remember kit stealers used to have pages that listed all the kits they'd stolen. I may not be remembering this correctly, but sometimes other kit stealers would come along and re-steal the kits. xD
Kit-Stealers would steal from other kit-stealers and kit-savers would try to take them back. It got a little crazy at one point because someone's actually character got stolen and they didn't want that. So when they told the person that stole them they wanted their character back, they said no. So a kit that was RPed by someone was stolen without permission and then wasn't given back to the original owner who RPed the character that never wanted to be stolen in the first place. --A crying Nidoking

- Do you guys remember the newspaper fads? In warriors misc people would start "site newspapers". IMO, I thought it was really cool, but I think only one or two of them got off the ground. I’ll expand on that. ‘Roast me’ was a type of topic fad that probably started because of The Milky Way’s topics that told their unsugercouted opinion on you. Roast Me topics just went one step further and forumers would tell you the flaws they saw. Sometimes this would just be a joke. Say your screenname was Hawkfeather. Someone may say, ‘You have too many feathers.’
The salt overflow just meant that people started to be extra sarcastic. Or ‘salty’. Jokes that were sarcastic were also prominent. --mintedstar/fur

Brookefur
Brookefur was semi-famous on the forums from 2011-2012. She had the largest, best, and most popular Warrior's World at the time. At least a quarter of FanClan roleplayers joined it at one point or another. It had so many members at one point (over 100) that Brookefur had to close it to new joiners. It had over 4000 pages. It helped that she was a genuinely sweet, kind person. After about six months, she decided she didn't want the responsibility anymore, and handed it off to two senior members to jointly lead (Bubbledaisy and Eveningfrost). Her original "title" still exists on these forums, handed down from one WW admin to the next.

The Forum Ghost- (date) The Forum Ghost was basically a troll account, that was signifigant, because of the deletion of their post almost instantly after they were posted. Well my friend created a clan that reached over 1,500 pages before it got deleted. It was called LIGHTNINGCLAN - The Clan of Thundering Skies and it was made in December 2011 and was deleted only recently. Blondstar [the creator] was banned a while back but she had a lot of successful threads like her other clan Fernclan which reached over 500 pages. She was an original helper of Pawprint Gazette and a member of Blossomclan. She was pretty famous in the kit-ing world, she was a kit-stealer and kit-styler, a lot of people say she inveted kit-gemming where you take a kit and put it into a gem so that you can carry more kits out of a clan to keep it realistic. She was the deputy of this big banner making club which I am currently blanking on the name of. It was run by a really famous banner maker named Moth something, but everyone called her Skittlez. Anyways Blondstar was also super popular on the Art forum, she had a banner shop that was remade mmany times but always very busy, her layouts might still be up on some clans. The Attack of Hai
Anyone who was part of the forums back in 2011 probably knows what I'm talking about. Hai was a very infamous member - at first, she acted like a very nice person, however, that quickly changed. At some point (I believe it was in May/June) Hai started a topic bashing a certain user who shall not be named for privacy reasons, stating some very inappropriate things, such as the fact that she had seen said person doing specific... things, and continued seriously trolling them before receiving an IP ban. Rumors that Hai had an alternative option for evading the IP ban and returning to the forums spread like wildfire, and many users (including myself) began planning for a major forum evacuation if she did end up returning to prevent the disaster from happening again. The term I have coined for this event for this purpose is The Attack of Hai, although I'm open to name suggestions. If any users have any more in-depth info on who exactly Hai was (I wasn't online during the time of the attack, but I quickly learned of what happened a short while after the posts were deleted and she was IP banned)--cocokat

Ahem. Yeah, I remember the whole thing. I wasn't online, but basically she posted these threads with really nasty, derogatory comments about this one member, and made claims that they'd seen them nude and had pics to prove it. She started a bunch of flame wars and actually drove that one member to quit the forums for (I think) forever. Right before she was banned she promised to come back, so for the next few days everyone was coming up with plans for what to do if she returned. Basically the agreement was that everyone would spam every thread with a certain word, and then everyone would leave the forums for several hours.--Mσмєηтѕ

Joe S. did not get fired. That's just a rumor. A forumer asked a moderator (either Jana or Matthew, I believe) what happened to him, since people started to notice his absence soon after the "heads will roll" incident. The Ultimate Guide to becoming a Moderator!
You all know that you want to become a Moderator, so I thought I'd help out by making a checklist that you need to follow to become a Moderator
Go to school. Every day. Even if it is home school. Or the weekend. Or Summer.
1] Be good to your teacher. You're going to need a good recommendation further down this list.
2] Do your homework. Do I need to say why? Good.
3] Bring your teacher an apple. See the part about a good recommendation? Right, so make sure the apple hasn't gone bad or something.
Reach age 15.
1] Get a part time job. You're going to need money. Lots of it. Start saving now. A job as a welder should do it. Or a Crane operator. Or Bulldozer driver.
Continue going to school while working part time. Get good grades and earn a lot of money. No, I mean a LOT of money.
Turn 18 years old. By now you should have lots of money and have graduated from, or are soon to be graduating High School.
Oh, did I forget to mention what to do with the teacher recommendations? That was just to keep your parents happy while you were saving money to buy everything you need for the next step. Razzer
Bribe Jana
1] Send her Ice Cream. Not a little bit of Ice Cream. Like a truckload of Ice Cream. Remember, you're bribing her. Overdo it.
a) She likes Pistachio. Hint. Send her some. And by some I mean 900 or 1,000 gallons of it. Minimum.
And Mint Chocolate Chip. Send that too.
c) And Rocky Road (you didn't think this was gonna be cheap, did you?)
d) And Butter Pecan, just to be a little different. Bribe her, don't bore her to death.
2] She hates the Yankees, they make her lose sleep.
a) Send her a Red Sox hat
And a Derek Jeter voodoo doll. With pins stuck in it. Silver ones
c) And a crate of Tylenol so that she can sleep when they lose, which is a lot.
3] She needs a way to eat the Ice Cream.
a) Send her a box of Sporks. By box I mean crate big enough that it needs a forklift to move. Lot of Ice Cream, lot of Sporks. OK?
4] Every Moderator in the world likes Skittles. True Story.
a) Send her a year's supply of Skittles Sour. That'll be an inexpensive bribe, because those are awful.

Jrmint - created many popular threads, most of which were games or non-spammy karma threads. popular examples from 2011 are 'how high can we count', 'official music thread' (music discussion/original "what are you listening to?" thread), 'vending machine', etc. threads have since been inactive/deleted-- skewter
Ebonycloud-
Ebonycloud was a notable member of the early Art Forum. She is perhaps best well known for her comic, “The New Clans.” This was one of the most advanced comics on the Forum at the time, so naturally it was quite popular.
Ebonycloud also created a fad, the “Breedable” fad. This was when she would draw a group of cats for people to pair up. She would then draw the kits and you could have one of them. This fad has long been overthrown by Adoptables, but it was popular back then.
Sadly, Ebonycloud discontinued her story due to her going to college and her new distaste for the story. The story can still be read, however, on her D.A. page.-- skewter

Mr. Smiley and Rainface-
(Late 2009) Rainface was a beloved member of the forums and definitely the most popular. Many fan clubs were created in her honor (This was a common thing to do for admired forumers). She was said to be very kind. She was 13/14. Mr. Smiley was a rude user on the forums who could be believed as the first "troll." This user was banned multiple times and that resulted in the creation of multiple accounts. Rainface came forward in late 2009 admitting she was in fact Me. Smiley. Some believe it was just a stunt, and I don't blame them for their disbelief. Forumers felt lied to and hurt, and Rainface was banned shortly after.
"Thought it was later than that. I don't think I started masquerading about in WillowClan 'til about December '09, and the Mr. Smiley debacle was after that. Although, you've actually been looking at the old forums and I haven't seen them since.
I do remember she first tried to say Mr. Smiley was actually a really nice guy and that she met him at a congregation, or something along those lines. I have no idea how long she kept that up, though."-- skewter

Timeline
2009
Timeline
7/13/09- Forum Created, Warriors Interactive Timeline created
First Days- The whole of the forums was pretty unorganized, especially Misc. which contained topics like the creation of RP clans, fanfiction, and introductory threads. Clans included RP clans and clan discussion. Many "Questions for Erin" were posted.
WillowClan- Created by the famous Rainface, this clan was filled to the brim before the end of July. July 31st- "I, Rainface, leader of WillowClan, knew this time would come. We have an overload of Warriors in the clan, and cannot take any more in. I will check for any further postings of asking to be Warriors through August 3rd. Anyone asking to be a Warrior after that will, unfortunately, be declined. However, we do still have many spots open for apprentices and kits. I just want to take the time while I'm writing this to thank everyone who has helped me with getting Warriors into WillowClan. Look where it has brought me! We have a total of 53 warriors in WillowClan, not including myself, deputy, and medicine cat/apprentice. We have 8 apprentices, and 4 kits. So, again, thanks for anyone who helped me out, but I will only be taking any more Warriors through August 3rd. ♥Rainface♥"
8/11/14- Fanclans created

Genaral things in the Timeline:
General was the same as now: "News and Announcements", "Message Board Guidelines", "FAQs", and "Feedback and Suggestions".
In January 2010, I believe it was, a "Game Admin" section was added, with only one section inside it: "Questions for Game Admin", I think it was called. There was some sort of online Warriors game planned, so Game Admin posted a couple times there and we could ask her questions about beta testing and so on. They selected the beta testers in about March 2010, but apart from getting an email saying "Congratulations, you're a tester", we never heard anything about it.
Book Club, of course, wasn't there since that was just added in 2013.
Anniversary, wasn't added until, well, the first anniversary, in 2010.
Fan Polls were always there. You used to be able to reply in there, but people started using it for general chat - the "poll" would be something pointless and they'd just sit and chat like in General Discussion. They turned off replying in February 2010 so that it would *only* be used for voting on polls, because cleaning up the polls alone was about half their work on the forum. People begged them to turn it back on, and they agreed to give us a second chance.... and nothing changed, it was slightly better, but still basically as spammy, so then they turned it off for good. (Although this seems to be back with the new forum software.)
In the Warriors - General Discussions, "Warriors Misc" was always there. "Introductions" wasn't there at the start, but it was one of the first sections added. I remember suggesting it on one of my first days, along with a bunch of other things.
In the Warriors section, "Warriors: The Original Series" was simply named "Warriors" at first. People were getting that subsection mixed up with Warriors Misc, so they renamed it to avoid confusion. "Dawn of the Clans" wasn't added till DotC came around, naturally.
In "The Cats and The Clans", only the sections "The Cats" and "The Clans" were around at the start. "Warriors FanClans" and "Warriors Fanfiction" were some of the first sections added (along with Seekers FanClans and Fanfiction, and Introductions might've been in that batch too.) Before they were added, people used The Clans for RPing. I can't remember for sure where people put fanfiction, but it was probably in Warriors Misc or OTD. I remember a couple slipping into the main-series sections every few days though.
Seekers only had the first three books (that's all that was out then), The Bears, and Seekers Misc when the forums started. The other books and manga sections were pretty much released as they came out (though some were late), and Seekers FanClans and Seekers Fanfiction were added when the Warriors FanClans and Fanfiction sections were added.
Survivors was added in early 2012 after the "official" announcement of the series (we first caught wind of a new Erin series in summer 2011, and knew the animal a while before the reveal thanks to a HarperCollins image of a bookstore stand that said "The time has come for dogs to rule the wild"). Can't remember if it had all the usual sections at the time.
"Ask Erin" originally just had "Questions for Erin". It was open to member replies for the first half year the forums existed, and it was here that I spent most of my time. There were actually several threads where people were asking or theorizing that I was actually an Erin that was using a personal account. And having fans answer the questions went well. People were happy with some response, even if it wasn't the authors - a lot of the time, even, they asked something that had been asked elsewhere so I could even quote an answer. Then they closed it because "It's supposed to be for Erin to answer". As you can imagine, I protested that fiercely, but to no avail. About a year later they actually had Erin answer 15 questions, and added the "Answers from Erin" section. She's been on twice since: once to answer about 15 more in one topic like that, and once just floating around replying to random threads in Ask Erin (around 100 of them).
The Other Topics section used to be only Off Topic Discussion. Both the Art Forum and Off Topic RP were born of massive need.
Off Topic Roleplay was added because Off Topic Discussion became overrun with RPs (to the point that it was hard to find a *discussion* instead of an RP). In fact, there were so many, they just renamed Off Topic Discussions to Off-Topic Roleplaying, and created a new copy of Off Topic Discussions, saying that if there were any non-RPs in the OTRP section then they could be moved.
Before the Art Forum was added, people were posting all their art, Warriors or otherwise, in the Manga section 'cause they thought that having the word manga in the name meant it was kinda related to art, and they figured "it's kinda inactive anyway, so let's dump it here". The mods moved that stuff to Off Topic Discussion, where it belonged, and the users got mad. This resulted in some of the biggest drama the forums have seen. The mods promised that they'd request an art forum to HC fairly early on, but it took a while to get through HarperCollins' legal department, so the promise didn't do much to calm people.
Warriors Adventure Game was added in like August or September 2009, because that's when they released the practice mission and rules. The first real mission was in the back of The Fourth Apprentice later that year. It's always been one of the least active sections.
Fanatic Challenge wasn't there at the start of the forum, but it was added in mid-2009, briefly before the Challenge started. The "Winners" section was added after the first question, and it was used so that back when Warriorcats.com had the scrolling text across the top of the screen, it would pull that text from the titles of the threads in the Winners section.
Reading Warriors, I'm not sure if that was there at the start or added after.
10 Years of Warriors was added in Dec 2012 or Jan 2013.
Wild Games was added in Feb 2014. --Dawnwing

Notable Users
Rainface- The first "god" of the forums. After only 4 days of the forum being up, she already had a devout fanbase. She was kind of much more mature than most members on the forum. She was later found out to have had multiple accounts, one being the troll Mr. Smiley. She was later banned.
Frostblossom-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eras
Karma Kraze- In the earliest days of the forum, everyone was obsessed with getting high karma. Many questions were raised about karma in the FAQs and Karma Games were created in OTD, or just threads to be "random" to gain "free karma"
Arguments- Arguments were common in the early days. Controversial topics were posted all over OTD. Many political and religious debates took place, not to mention most people on here were around 11.
Twilight Bad, Harry Potter Good- Most users wanted to prove their "maturity" by posting about the scum that Twilight, HSM, Hannah Montana, and the Jonas Brothers were. Harry Potter, Warriors, Fred, and Icarly were all praised.
Snail Posting- Posts had to be approved by moderators before posted.
No Art Forum/OTRP- This led to spam in unrelated forums.
Spam- Mate threads "I need a mate pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" and "JOIN MY CLAN" posts/threads were very common along with karma games.
If you do not read- Many topic titles were along the lines of "If you do not read this, you will explode" --Hawkbreath

Everything you ever (or never) wanted to know about the Fanatic Challenge-
The Fanatic Challenge is only open to residents of the United States of America and Canada (excluding Quebec). The mods have tried to open it to other countries, but cannot, due to legal issues. Very sorry!
"CH" means ChallengeHost.
Hello everybody! It's that time of year again- THE WARRIORS AND SEEKERS FANATIC CHALLENGE IS BACK! I have been waiting for this for a long, long time, and I bet most of you have as well! Here, we'll be answering questions about the challenge and be counting 1,000 ways to win!
I thank all of you who made this guide successful last year! We topped 100 pages! Let’s see if we can top 200 pages this year… think we can do it?
I have made slight tweaks to the thread to make it more user-friendly for this year. Please, if I missed anything, or if you have a suggestion, don’t be afraid to ask.
Ways to Win, Q&A’s, and Reviews from last year have been carried over to this year's Guide.

1,000 Ways to Win
1. Keep refreshing the page when it's near the time.
2. Reread all the books.
3. Use 'Quick Reply' instead of normal reply.
4. Try not to be too nervous. This will only slow you down. (Thanks, Mothflutter!)
5. If a question is locked, type out the answer, copy it, then paste it when the topic opens. (Thanks, Mothflutter!)
6. Don't take your time to add capitalization, punctuation, & anything else that is not needed. (Thanks, Mothflutter!)
7. If you cannot post right away, don't freak out! It hasn't been opened yet!
8. Be fair to the people that have won, and if you'd like another chance remember that there's next year. So try not to complain or there WON'T be another one next year. c: (Thanks, ~*Echoleaf*~!)
9. If you can't be online at one challenge question - hey, it's cool. Maybe you might not have read that far anyways, and there's always next question. (Thanks, ~*Echoleaf*~!)
10. Try to get on ten minutes or so before the challenge question in case your computer is being slow. If it is, try to clean up your desktop or clear some cookies before the question. (Thanks, ~*Echoleaf*~!)
11. Check back here for more tips!
12. Practice being fast on the keyboard and mouse. Time yourself to type something into the search box and click it. (Thanks, Tegres!)
13. Try training your knowledge of Warriors and Seekers by having you and your friend quiz each other (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
14. Put your computer on high performance. (Thanks, Sagefox!)
15. Press F5 instead of hitting the refresh button on your internet broswer. It saves some time, and time means a lot in the challenge. (Thanks, Dawncloud!)
16. Also Be careful not to refresh to fast that it will freeze your computer. (Thanks, Sagefox!)
17. The questions aren't too hard, usually. Most of the time they have to do with the most recent releases or news in the past year. So don't spend too much time drilling everything from old books into your head. However, it's good to. Just don't stress out too much over it. (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
18. Try to avoid posting on a mobile device. I am posting this on my Kindle right now, but prefer typing on my computer. (Thanks, *Hazelshade*!)
19. Don't show this thread to your friends. Otherwise you have more competition. (Thanks, Silentsmoke!)
20. Every question I've seen doesn't require typing a full sentence; so don't type full sentences to save time. (Thanks, Laughingstar!)
21. Don't edit your post, even if it's a spelling mistake. (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
22. Don't make your answer so shorten it's hard to read. So don't say "fxlep" instead of "foxleap" or "rseptle" instead of "rosepetal." One or maybe even two missing letters in okay. (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!) Edit: 1/14/13 3:14PM: CH recently posted a thread on typos. Typos now qualify as "incorrect answers" D:
23. Don't second-guess yourself. There isn't time to check whether or not you're right, so go with your first thought. (Thanks, ☽вυввle◊dαιѕy☾!)
24. If you have a header, don't use it. Time is of the essence! (Thanks, ☽вυввle◊dαιѕy☾!)
25. Make sure you don't visit other sites before the question is posted,or if you do make sure you get off when the question is going to be posted (Thanks, Foxtail560!)
26. Watch the fanantic challenge area closely and when you see the question click it really fast,as soon as you see it. (Thanks, Foxtail560!)
27. When you are ready to answer, be calm. Just type your answer quickly and post. Make sure everything is spelled right really fast, then you post. Remember- 10 posts CAN go fast there, but some people may make mistakes! (Thanks, Brightpetal!)
28. Just because there are 10+ replies on the thread doesn't mean that you still can't win. Hey, chance has it that maybe one of the first 10 were wrong; who knows? You won't until you post! xD
29. Keep your mouse hovering over where the newest thread is while you're refreshing! The next question will pop up right there, and all you have to do is click! (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
30. There are two quick reply buttons on a page. Use the one at the top of the page. (Thanks, ~*єνєиιиgfяσѕт*~!)
31. Avoid posting 5 minutes before the scheduled question time to prevent Flood Protection from triggering when you're trying to answer the question. (Thanks, ~*єνєиιиgfяσѕт*~!)
32.Close out all tabs except for the Fanatic Challenge forum around 5 minutes before the scheduled question time to prevent you from being distracted when the question is posted. At this time, your main focus should be having your mouse where the question will pop up, which is where the previous week's question is, and refreshing. (Thanks, ~*єνєиιиgfяσѕт*~!)
33.When you see the question pop up, stop refreshing immediately, and click. However, just warning you now, if you're doing rapid-fire refreshing as you wait for the question to appear, you may end up refreshing an extra time. If your computer is fast, that isn't an issue, but if it's slow, avoid as best you can from doing it. (Thanks, ~*єνєиιиgfяσѕт*~!)
34. Maybe listen to a song that can pump you up. You don't want to fall asleep or walk away during the question!
35. Take a bathroom break 10 minutes before the challenge (Or, if it's like the room over, take it 5 min. before).
36. Don't walk away from your computer/laptop/device after the 5 min. warning.
37. If you have a laptop, if you can, use a mouse instead of a touchpad. (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
38. If you followed tip 37, practice using the mouse instead of the touchpad before the question. (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
39. Make sure you're in good shape! Perfect tempatured room, well-fed, and don't need to go to the bathroom! (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
40. If you have a laptop, make sure it's charged or is charging! You don't want the power to run out right before the question! (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
41. Use a computer! Stay away from using a kindle/iPad/iPhone/ect. (Thanks, Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe!)
42. If the answer to the question is a character whose name has changed, don't bother typing out both names or suffixes. Take it from me, as that's why I probably didn't get in the top 10 for Question 3. (Thanks, Rockheart48!)
43. Your clock may be faster, or slower than forum time. So if its not there, when your clock hits the scheduled time, just keep refreshing anyhow. (Thanks, White-out!)
44. Chillax!
45. Don't always go with the majority! If you see most of the posters so far have posted an answer, and you believe that answer is wrong, go with your own answer! I remember this scenario happened last year, when the answer to a question was 'Rosepetal', but almost everyone answered 'Foxleap'. So, the majority isn't always correct! (Thanks, *Tigerlily*!)
46. Make sure the avvie you pick is your favorite, or if you can't decide, pick the most neutral one. Don't pick a really brightly colored one, as if you change your second avatar, it might clash and look kinda bad. (Thanks, Shadowstalker!)
47. Refresh fast on books by going to Warriors Wiki and skimming the cliffnotes of books. (Thanks, Shadowstalker!)
48. If there are posts before yours, don't read them. For one thing, you'll waste your golden time. Secondly, you don't want to get the idea that your guess is wrong and lose confidence. (Thanks, xXNightfeatherXx!)
49. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT put [anything slippery] on your hands before the FC. It makes your hands slippery and you might make a typo. (Thanks, Lilybee!)
50. It helps to have a stress ball or something to squeeze to vent your excitement. (Thanks, Lilybee!)
51. Take deep, deep breaths to help calm yourself and don't get the hiccups. XD (Thanks, Lilybee!)
52. Don't smash you're device if you don't win. That way you lose any chance at all.
XP(Thanks, Curious!)
53. Try not to type too much with your hands ten minutes before the challenge. In fact, try washing them with cold water. Otherwise they can get sweaty and hot. (Thanks, Shadowstalker!)
54. Go with your gut. (Thanks, Shadowstalker!)
55. When you review the books/wiki or whatever else you refer to, do it the day before or the day of the challenge, that way it's fresh in your mind. (Thanks, ~☽~Moonblaze~☾~!)
56. Don't rush yourself too frantically, you'll end up making a mistake or being slower than you wanted. Like when you rush yourself too much when tying a shoelace. (Thanks, ~☽~Moonblaze~☾~!)
57. If you're on a mobile device or laptop, make sure you're in a place that has a strong Wi-Fi or 3G connection. That way, the page will load faster after clicking on the link and it won't lag too much. (Thanks, » ร๏lรtเςє!)
58. Don't chat afterwards- there's always the risk of the ChallengeHost looking over your post and thinking you posted twice. (Thanks, ♥✞ƒιяєѕтαятнєєριcкιтту✞♥!)
59. When reading the book's try to take note's for the small symbolic features which may be the most important for future challenges. (Thanks, Şhiຖiຖງ໓iค๓໐ຖ໓♬♪!)
60. When the "Question ____ will be on..." Thread is unlocked, or any other thread for that matter, don't post on it. You will lose seconds and you have the chance at losing the Fanatic Challenge that time around. I learned that from last go around. (Thanks, cнeeтαнѕтrιpe!)
61. Question 1 is usually a really hard one to win, because it's the kick-off to the Fanatic Challenge, so don't get too bummed out if you don't win that one. (Thanks, ☆~sEdGeFr❀sT~☆!)
62. Don't put a question mark after your answer, or any punctuation for that matter. I learned that the hard way. (Thanks, ☆~sEdGeFr❀sT~☆!)
63. Take a chance on every question. Even if you don't know one, make up the best answer you can think of. Some challenges are weirder than others; when I won on the second question, I was going to ignore it because I thought it was Seekers. Thankfully I saw it just in time to find out it was Warriors. (Thanks, ♥✞ƒιяєѕтαятнєєριcкιтту✞♥!)
64. The first questions are the hardest. The majority of people will be working on them- try your best to brush up on every series to increase your chances of winning the first time around. On the last question, you will have to stay calm to win. (Thanks,
♥✞ƒιяєѕтαятнєєριcкιтту✞♥!)
65. After entering the challenge, do something to calm down. If you don't make it, you will be less upset because you feel calmer. (Thanks, frostclaw1!)
Q&A
Common Questions:
What is the Warriors and Seekers Fanatic Challenge?
The Fanatic Challenge is a challenge that is held once a year on the boards. Each week during the challenge, CH posts a question about Warriors, Seekers, or Survivors, and the first 10 people to guess correctly win a sweet new avatar!
When is it held?
The Fanatic Challenge is usually held in November-December, but it started in January last year, and will start in December this year!
When are the questions posted; daily weekly, or what?
-There have been quite a few people who have asked this question-
The questions are asked weekly; one question is asked per week. CH tells us when the question is going to be posted a couple of days in advance.
What do the winners get?
The winners get two things: One, a sweet new avatar that replaces their rank. The first Fanatic Challenge gave out stars (starred avatars), the second gave out paws (paw’d avatars), last year’s gave out red scratches (scratched avatars), and this year's looks something like this:
(Yeah, we don't like it too much.)
Two, they get a second avatar that is now their "real/true" avatar.
Hey! That person has three avatars! How did they get 3!?
Only a few people have three avatars. They won two year’s challenges.(Thanks, grαчdαwn131! They pointed out to me that it might seem as though the person won two weeks.)
How many winners are there?
Each question has ten winners.
Edit 1/9/12 7:16 PM: Actually, I just remembered that I heard one question had 20 winners(?). So it actually depends on the amount of posts. It's usually ten though.
Edit: 1/14/12 10:41 AM: I recently was alerted that one question accepted 20 answers because it was a question about Barley's brothers. The mods accepted their pre-BloodClan names (Hoot and Jumper) and post-BloodClan names (Ice and Snake).
Can we edit our posts or post two answers?
No. The answer you put is the answer you submitted. Even if you edited it because of a spelling mistake, oh well. (The mods don't count spelling.)
No, two answers are not allowed. You get once guess.
Edit: 12/28/12 9:19PM: This year, it seems to be reversed. After Dawncloud didn't get the avatar she deserved because of a simple typo (and someone else winning after posting two answers), many have come to the conclusion that two answers are allowed, while typos are not.
The date/time wasn't convenient for me! /I was lagging! /Etc
The mods cannot make everything work out for you.
They're trying to get times that work for everyone.
If you lagged, many other people did too.
The mods were very upset at the negative feedback. Please, let's not be rude and greedy like two years ago.
Can I change my winner’s avatar?
Sorry, but you can't. Make sure you have the avatar that you want before you post your answer to a question.
Can we win on multiple weeks?
No. You get one win per year. If you answer correctly on another question (after already winning), your answer will be disqualified and the next correct answer will win.
Why does the post say a time that is before it was posted?
Well, CH can answer that...

User-Submitted Questions:
If I like changing my avatar a lot, but want to win the challenge, what do I do? (Thanks, ~*Echoleaf*~!)
OK. What I would say is choose the avatar you like the most on the day. Then, try the challenge. If you win, you can change your second avatar. If you don't win, you are free to change your avatar.
Why are there a few questions that are written for the Pacific users?
"[...]For those who can't participate, we didn't want everyone staying up on a school night, but wanted to give the members on the other coast a fair shot at answering some questions (some other questions are asked while they're in school)"(ChallengeHost, December 09,2009).
Questions available for users to answer:
If winners already have three avatars, will they be able to get four?
Sıʟeɳᴛsɱoƙe said: Yes, they can in fact. Most last year thought it wouldn't be allowed to have three avatars, because it would stretch your post and siggie space down, but the mods proved them wrong. So yes, a fourth avvie is available!

Now, first let me express myself.
HHUZZZZAAAHHH!!!!!! ITSHEREITSHEREITSHEREWOOOHOOOOO!!!!!! Wacko
Ahem.
Now, I remember last year, older members were saying how they almost didn't do FC III because of all the drama people were making during FC II.
I hear newbies asking, "What kind of drama?"
I'll explain later.
Anyways, can I just say, last year was apparently a bit better than FC II, but it was still pretty bad. SO. I'd say we're lucky we even have this thing.
THINGS EVERY YEAR PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT:
1. "It's not fair! I couldn't make that time!!!!"
2. "It's not fair that some people have more than one special avatar!!" (This was mostly directed at people like Shinning Diamond, who, after she won her fourth special avatar, complaints like this exploded in the F&S forum.)
3. "They're favoring EST people because so far it's been around their timezone!!"
4. "It's not fair there's only ten winners per week!"
5. "There should be more Warriors questions than Seekers questions!/There's not enough Seeker questions!!"
6. "Challenge host posted the question two minutes after he said he would!!"
7. "It's not fair, my internet/computer is slower!!"
8. "They're gonna be Survivor/YS questions and the books only just came out!!"
9. "It's not fair that they only allow US and Canada to compete!"
MY RESPONSE TO THAT:
1. They stagger the times so that everyone can make it to at least one question. That question may be to early/late for you, but the next one won't!
2. They won it fair and square. You're just being a spoiled brat saying that. Step into their shoes- they probably feel very accomplished and proud. Don't rain on their parade.
3. You PST people will get your turn, even Challenge Host promised this.
4. Any more winners, and it really wouldn't be so special anymore. Every other person would have one. Any less, and the competition and drama would be 10x worse.
5. They keep it even depending on the fandom.
6. Challenge Host has the right to post it withint five minutes after the designated time- it says so in the rules.
7. Sorry, but the mods can't do anything about that.
8. Then it gives people who have a better chance of winning. Look, two months for Survivors is plenty. The way you win these things is to stay at the top of your game.
9. Legal issues make it so they can't do it anywhere else. Sorry, they tried.
STOP IT. PLEASE.
They can't make it fair for everyone.
So, just putting that out there.

Vicky's Warriors Newsletter:

The other exciting news is that the Warriors Fanatic Challenge begins on December 10th! This is the weekly trivia contest where we use the Official Message Board to pose a question based on books in the series. TThe first ten people to answer correctly win a special avatar to use on the forums AND, as an extra special treat this year, we will reveal a piece of DAWN OF THE CLANS BOOK ONE: THE SUN TRAIL along with each trivia question. Sneak peek ahoy!
At the end of the Fanatic Challenge, you will be able to read the entire first chapter online, even if you didn't win one of the trivia rounds. I know, we're really far too generous.
I'll be visiting the US in March to hear what you think of the new series in person, but in the meantime, good luck with the Challenge, enjoy Yellowfang, and Happy Thanksgiving!
With love and good wishes
Vicky/Erin x
Next Question: The Challenge is over! Thanks to everyone and the Mods for this wonderful Challenge!

Extra Note: I will do my best to list who said what, however some things are just lost to history. (This is otherwise known as I don't have a complete record of who said what because some of this stuff comes from other forum histories that the WCF had in the past.)
