Howdy y'all! Hawktalon, here! If you haven't heard of me by now, either you're new to the art forums (if this is so, welcome!), or where have you been for the past four years? That's right, folks. I've been art forum-ing it up for four years with three successful comics! But guess what? This one is the FOURTH! SKYFALL.
NOW BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING: NO. This comic was NOT named after, nor does it have ANY AFFILIATION with the most recent James Bond movie. Though I admit it was pretty darn awesome, I had the idea and title of this comic way before that movie was in theaters. SO JUST IN CASE ANYONE ASKS.
*This is a PREQUEL to my second comic, Broken Wings. Part of this story (the ending) was posted a few years back. If you read the story, PLEASE DON'T SPOIL ANYTHING. It would make it better for all of us.
Please bear with me, I am incredibly lazy. So I apologize for inconvenience and the slow release of pages. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~BACKGROUND INFO: The Cloud Kingdom is well, exactly how it sounds. A Kingdom in the clouds. The cats there have wings. They are quite intelligent, knowing how to read, write, and use swords and other weapons in battle. The Cloud Kingdom is heavily influenced by ancient Greek and Roman cultures. This reflects in names, architecture, weapons, and even the language. If there comes a time when another language is spoken, I will translate it below the page with a pronunciation guide as well.

There are two types of Royal Guards. The ones who guard the inside of the castle have chest plates and the ones that guard the outside have helmets. This one right here is Zephyr and he's someone who comes in later's father.Page 9

So here we have Aeson, Lelantos, and Cerberus, fan characters of Glimmerfrost3, wonderingsoul, and Wolfheart and Spottednight. They're kind of bullies to some of the other flight camp students. And 'chicken' is a word used to describe someone who can't fly.Page 12

They're clipping his wings. Without flight feathers, he can't fly. It's done to birds in real life and it doesn't hurt. Lelantos and them were gonna do it Skye, but they discovered she already can't fly, so they made fun of her instead.Page 17
While Aeson was distracted with Skye, Minos yanked his paw out of his grasp. But he's looking worried now 'cause he's falling forward.Page 18

I like Leonidas' desk. It's based off of mine, except mine is white and less fancy. And the letter he's reading is in Greek and it says "Sincerely, the West King." Lelantos is surprised in the last frame 'cause he's never seen the Throne Room before.Page 25

Minos' wings are supposed to be huge. He and Skye are around five moons old, and that's around when flight feathers grow in (it was later for the kits in The Unforgiven 'cause they're part earth cat). So right now, Minos' wings are big compared to his body, but that's just because he's a kit. Skye just has some problem that makes her wings small, and thus, can't fly. I was also listening to the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack while drawing this.

Sorry for the long wait! But now you get to see the Cloud Kingdom in it's full glory! The design keeps not staying constant, but I like this one. Lots of Greek style buildings and also some Roman domes. The Coliseum would be to the right and the gem mine is down that path with the pillars on the left.

I didn't feel like drawing backgrounds, so I didn't. And I was going to make a new watermark, with still my H and T, but I was going to use Greek Letters for it, but it turns out that H and T look the same in Greek letters...

The answer is birds! Usually, its smaller birds like songbirds and the like, but for special things, they all share a large bird of prey or something like this hawk. Ohh! And new characters! The list is updated so you can read about them.

I literally came up with the Amphitheatre concept while drawing the last page. What gonna happen next was originally just going to be in the dining room, but then I thought: THEATRE MASKS. Oh yeah, and the "blah"s are just the older cats talking. This isn't really the formal meeting here, it's just dinner. Nero, Leonidas, Helen, and Livia will have their meeting about kingdoms and stuff later.

The different types of swords was literally just to point out that it's not just East of West cats in on it. And remember how I said there were two types of Guards? The Royal guards like Zephyr guard the castle, and the border Guards guard the borders of the Kingdom. Atalanta would normally be wearing a helmet with a tassel on it, like the Guards in The Unforgiven.

I can't decide whether I'm impressed that people actually guessed this (cause of my famous 'problem with subtlety problem') or impressed that it took so long for a correct guess (that I was for once able to not have a subtlety problem). Either way, this will all eventually make sense.
