Amara
When she realized that she had been caught, Amara's eyes widened and she felt her face blush a deep red. "Charles, you cannot let anyone know I am out here," she whispered quickly, pulling her hood further over her eyes as she looked around them, making sure no one had heard him say the word "princess". Luckily, he had pulled them into the cover of even more darkness, and everyone seemed to drunk to notice the pair.
"No!" She protested, when he told her that she should return to the castle. "I wasn't even allowed to participate in the festivities there. The queen had me sequestered to my quarters to make sure all of her guests were happy. It's not fair that I have to stay locked away like some monster, while the rest of the kingdom is dancing the night away!" The princess's voice was swollen with emotion, and had even cracked a bit on the word "fair". She was desperate for fresh air and the company of others, even if she couldn't directly interact with those around her.
"Please..." the dark haired girl girl begged one more, "Please don't make me go back. No one will even notice I'm missing. It's not as if they ever desire my presence," she added, bitterness rich in her voice as she stared at the ground, waiting for his reply.

 Best Friend >> Charles with AmaraCharles looked the princess up and down, slightly caught off guard by her rare beauty. It had been a while since they had seen each other, and he used to try to talk her into sneaking out with him as children, but now they were adults, with battles that weren't there's as children. Their parents fear quickly became theirs. "Alright then. If you insist. Put your hood back on and stay with me?" He offered him arm. Hoping that the two of them could find some time away from the people who would be looking for them. He was sure the Queen would send someone to check on Amara, and when they realize that she is not there, the Kingsguard will be notified and sent to look after her. Today was not the day he wanted to be caught with her. Although the pair were not nearly close to adult hood yet, they were of age to begin taking on more responsibilities, which is why charles had been forced to choose to take the place of the kings personal Knight. After all, there's nothing better than a young, strong man to have by the kings side. Definitely better than a frail breakable elder. The position had been passed down his family through generations so what else was charles really supposed to choose to do at the ripe age of 14? (I went ahead and made him younger since we are still wanting the pirates to raise him and what not lol) |
